Michelle Obama in the News
The Obama campaign is downplaying Michelle Obama’s comments yesterday that “for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”
Some believe this comment means Mrs. Obama has not felt pride for her country. What is the Obama campaign saying?
Traveling Press Secretary Jen Psaki sent the following statement:
“Of course Michelle Obama is proud of her country, which is why she and Barack Obama talk constantly about how their story wouldn’t be possible in any other nation on Earth. What she meant is that she’s really proud at this moment because for the first time in a long time, thousands of Americans who’ve never participated in politics before are coming out in record numbers to build a grassroots movement for change.”
What do you think?

Of course they are playing it down! She shoed her true self.
Michelle, pack your bags and move to another country!
You are one of the problems with America NOT a solution.
McCain 2008 or
Hillary 2008
Very poor choice of words…its time to sit Ms. Musclebound down.
She is a liability…
We can see Mrs. Obama’s comments for what they are: underlying black anger coming to the surface. It is in the hearts of many Afro-Americans. It will be a dangerous potential for unrest as the election proceeds, especially if a white woman steals the nomination from a very popular and charming Afro-American candidate.
Was just beginning to think about Obama as a real candidate until she mouthed off. Now I remember why I thought he was pathetic in the first place. They have done nothing, and know nothing, and her comments illustrate their ignorance. How stupid do you have to be to say something like that about his country??
That comment from Mrs. Bin Laden was very revealing….
She has an underlying dislike for “white” America….
The scourge of racism will continue to haunt us all….
What happened to her that gave her such a rush of American Pride?
Never was proud till her Husband “half black-half white” has been doing very well in his bid to be the Cammander In Cheif of the greatest nation
on earth…. Very Revealing indeed…..
here we go BRUCE-”underlying black anger” I mean if that is not racist…Do you think because the guy is A.A is can govern from the Oval Office as one…the is stupid race bating…Hispanics if elected would just leave the borders open to let every immigrant come right in? Do you GOP members not remeber it was you guys who advocated open borders with that stupid amnesty bill in the 80’s and now you guys are for close borders? What happened? So lets just calm down on the rehetoric on black this and black that…Not all people think alike even of the same race, religion, or background.
Very interesting choice of words….half the world would likely become proud americans if they could. Her husband has already had two years to start a change, why wait until become President. Is not the Senate a good place to start? McCain has already brought change while a seating Senator, sometimes even to the deslike of some of his colleges.
This is pure narcissism and a sorry excuse for a would-be first lady.
You call yourselves journalists! Why don’t you look into the Clinton’s connection to Monsanto!
Investigate these claims!!
‘Rural Americans for Hillary’ are Monsanto’s lobbyists. Clinton’s former-employer, Rose Law Firm, representing Monsanto, world’s largest GE (GE - genetic engineering) corporation; Tyson, world’s largest meat producer; Walmart, the world’s largest retailer. Rose Law Firm is home to Industrial FOOD.
Rose’s cozy connections: Jon Jacoby, senior at the Stephens Group - one of the largest shareholders of Tyson, Walmart, DP&L - is C.O.B. of DP&L, arranged the Wal-Mart deal. Jackson Stephens from the Stephen s Group staked Walton and financed Tyson. Monsanto bought DP&L. Hilllary, Walmart’s board invited you on and Tyson executives helped you make a $100,000 trade just before Bill’s governorship. Jackson Stephens backed Bill Clinto for Governor, then President (donating $100,000).
Monsanto has manufactured Agent Orange, PCBs, nuclear weapons components, pesticides, and are now tampering with our food.
Here is what occurred with Bill in office:
1. The USDA significantly weakened chicken waste/contamination standards, easing Tyson’s poultry-factory expansion.
2. Monsanto people were put in charge of food, …
3. The FDA okayed Monsanto’s rBGH (bovine growth hormone), the first GE-product ever approved.
4. Despite bovine illness/death, the FDA didn’t recall or warn the public.
5. When dairymen labeled their milk containers ‘rBGH-free,’ the USDA threatened confiscation.
6. Organic food was the last way around this unknown danger. The FDA tried to close that escape route with new ‘organic’ standards, to include: genetic engineering of plants/animals, food irradiation , sewage sludge fertilizer. The USDA backed down from public response 20 times greater than any other issue laid before American food:
OILS: Indian sheep died eating from Bt cotton fields. Our children eat Bt cottonseed oil in peanut butter and cookies.
GRAINS: 49 per cent of corn acreage planted in Bt corn in 2007. A French study indicates it causes kidney and liver toxicity. Monsanto controls the U.S.’s two main crops, soy (90% GMO, 90% of traits ‘belong’ to Monsanto) and corn, the largest crop (60% GMO, nearly 100% Monsanto ‘owned’ traits).
MEAT: Monsanto steroids fatten animals, our fattening children eat steroid-laced meats. The FDA allowed ‘known TSE-positive (Transmissible spongiform encephalopathy Mad Cow Disease) material to be used in pet food, pig, chicken and fish feed.’ Monsanto ’s GE-hormone increases risk sick cows are entering the U.S. food chain.
POULTRY: The USDA weakened waste/contamination standards. Waste from transnational poultry industry is now implicated as the source of bird flu. The poultry industry is using the crisis to push out small farmers.
MILK: Scientific studies indicate Monsanto’s rBGH increases risks of breast cancer by up to seven-fold, increases colon, prostate cancers risks. Canada, 29 European nations, Norway, Switzerland, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa ban U.S. rBGH dairy products. Bill’s USFDA put no restrictions, warning labels, or any labels on these foods.
Hillary, Will You Renounce Your Ties to Monsanto?
Matericia:
We know all the Clinton stories….
This blog is about Mrs Bin Laden’s comment about never being proud to be an American until her husband became a front runner in his bid to be the Democatic Nominee…..
Makes you wonder if they are wolves in sheep’s clothing, just waiting to Change everything we hold dear about being an American. Obama and his wife scare me! Wake up America, before it is too late!
What is wrong with being a “born again” patriot? You can sure leave a religion and come back strong. It is fine if you backslide and then come back stronger after a hiatus. I lost my faith in the US in November of 2000 after Bush II stole the election from Gore in FL and the stock market crashed. Actually I lost about 33% of my assets right after that election due to the Bush bear market that occurred after the Supremes decided the election. So I believe that Bush in effect stole 33% of my assets on Election Day. Now we finally have a candidate who I believe can restore pride in this country for all Americans — including the ones who have been disenfranchised during the Bush II administration. So why is a pick-up driving cowboy like me supporting Senator Obama? Because I know a liar and a thief when I see one. I believe Senator Obama can change this country for the better.
What kind of potential first lady would “finally” be proud of her country because we Americans are now ready for “change”? Has she not been paying attention for the last 44 years of her life, never mind the last 200 years of our country’s history? Somewhere in her anti-American statement is an undertone of racism revealing the kind of person I had assumed she wasn’t. Disappointed, but grateful that I know what Michelle Obama is really about …
I think the first 4 comments came from angry, undercover racist that have been waiting for a reason to go on attack of the “race” card. Because they are in utter and complete fear of Sen. Obama winning the nomination. Americans need a change after the last 8 years of George.
In defense of Mrs. Obama, you can love something or someone ,but not love what is being said or done. Proud of your child, but not proud of their actions at times. Does that mean you aren’t ever proud of your child, absolutely not. Her comment came out ,not so great, possibly a bit offensive, if you were reaching. But it was thought to have been heard by intelligent people who could understand the true meaning behind her comment.
Ms Obama has made odd comments about America on numerous occasion…
What’s up with the audacity of that ????
This comment is very telling …..
Well, thankfully, I’m not racist, but apparently if you are white and have a negative opinion of Barack Obama, you are automatically racist. Anyway, what Michelle Obama clearly said was- For the first time I am proud. If you chop it down to just the essential parts of the sentence, that is exactly what she said. Who knows what she really meant. I don’t care. I’m for Hillary no matter what. None of these media blows to Obama’s campaign influence my decision at all. I don’t trust him, and it has nothing to do with his color. I am less likely to trust women over any other type of person if we are actually talking about prejudices. However, I never let my instinctual prejudices influence my overall decision about a person. I trust Hillary. I trust that she will get in there and do the job. I do not trust Bill Clinton, but I feel that Hillary is sincere and has the experience and realistic methods that will show results. I feel that Barack Obama’s speeches are “just words.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke inspiring words, yes!! And he fought in every way he could to back up those words and take ACTION!! Only words followed by action become more than words, and I don’t trust that Barack Obama is more than words.
If you love Obama, good!
If you love Hillary, good!
If you love McCain, good!
We all have a right to our opinion, and that is why we get to vote, so stop judging each other for which hopeful you do or do not like, and just do what you feel is right!
I believe it was a poor choice of words, but lets face it every politician and their spouse out there has had a poor choice of words before. Those of you who are making these wild racists comments aren’t fooling anyone, you wouldn’t have voted for him anyway as long as you have a white alternative to vote for. And the Bin Laden comments show your obvious prejudice against brown skinned people. I dare say you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference or more importantly care to tell the difference between any person of middle eastern descent, nor be able to present any intelligent information about them.
We need someone out there to counterbalance all of the damage that Bush has done throughout the world to the image of the United States. It’s been pretty hard to be proud of this country for the last 7 years, I’m ready to have a president in office who can earn us back some of the respect we have lost. Barack Obama is that man. It is a wonderful thing that the majority of the Americans out there
who are showing up to do their civic duties are more intelligent than the bigots who have done so many of these postings.
Why is it some people judge a president solely by what the stock market does. A president cant base all his decisions on what effect it will have on the stock market. Theres alot of tough decisions to be made by the next president and some of them may have a neg effect on the markets but they have to be made. Obama has very little experience and his wifes true colors are really starting to show. I hope she keeps it up.
Guess it is ok to assume Mrs. Obama had a slip of the tongue. Ok, come on now press!!
Why can’t Bill Clinton have a slip of the tongue. Oh no he is a racist, even though he helped Black Americans dramatically during his Presidency.
Just in I would be completely dissatisfied if Obama gets the nomination as a Democrat. I will vote for McCain!!! But I guess you only report Obama’s supporters would be upset.
I believe cable television has completely ruined the Presidential process by being biased and completely unfair to the coverage of each candidate. Hopefully, in the next election (2012-in case you get do the math) there will be some enforced restrictions to the biased opinions and covergage given!!!
Hey, go get those ratings!!!!
CIGARETTES
A cigarette burning from the end of a holder became the trademark for Franklin Roosevelt. Warren Harding, who utilized every tobacco product, also found no problem lighting up whenever and wherever the urge struck him.
Howard Taft kicked the cigarette habit after his election as president. Dwight Eisenhower who rolled his own, sustained four packs a day, but quit cold turkey before his presidency. Lyndon Johnson used three packs a day until his heart attack forced an end to the habit.
First Lady Grace Coolidge kept her habit a secret.
Pat Nixon stopped smoking in public during her husband’s congressional campaign of 1946. The ever-adventurous Eleanor Roosevelt began lighting up at White House gatherings however; claiming women had as much right to smoke in public as men. Mamie Eisenhower, Jackie Kennedy, Betty Ford, and Nancy Reagan also smoked cigarettes. Helen Taft smoked in her youth, but quit shortly after her marriage as did Laura Bush.
Theresa,
As a black American I can’t remember what Bill Clinton did for me. I do believe he accomplished some things that were good for America as president, but please Theresa post a list of what Bill did “dramatically” for blacks, because I am unable to tell you one thing.
Is This what you want in our Whitehouse, Is this who you want to represent all of us in the word, I don’t think so!!
The First Lady is to be classy, well poised, educated and an open heart to all. Tell me what Michelle has, besides education. Yes, she went to the elite colleges, due to poor grades she used affirmative action to get her into these colleges. She is a very angry black woman mad at the world. She shows her ignorance and racism with remarks like the one she made about her being proud.
Let me say this, I was born and raised in another country most of my younger life, came to this GREAT country. got my citizenship, joined the service to thank my new country and fly the American Flag every chance I get and with PRIDE!!!
THIS IS NOT WANT WE NEED IN THE WHITEHOUSE!!!
How can anyone who is looking to represent every American say they have never been proud of the country which gives you every opportunity - and gave her every opportunity. Can American’s be true to themselves with someone like that in the White House. What is she saying about the past - ignore it? There have been good decisions made and not so good decisions made but all Americans have been involved in those decisions by the people we vote into the roles who make those choices. Now she can be proud because she is the first African American to be in the position she is in? I hear an undertone of racism and it is hers.
It just goes to show you what type of people are fooling the fools in this country. The Obamas are an ultra liberal duo that is sure to impose their left wing politics on the people of this country. If this man wins the nomination and ultimately wins the position of president, this country is in deep, deep trouble. I pray for Mr. McCain’s victory!!!
Useually I don’t comment on sites like this, but honestly this goes to Cathy. Where did you get your information on what grades Mrs Obama had? And what’s up with Americans always having to reassure themselves and the rest of the world how great their country is. I like America even though I am German, but come on. There is a lot of things wrong with this country right now, not because of it’s people and but because of it’s leadership. Mrs Obama did not use the right choice of words but why she is being jugded as a person on one sentence that came out wrong? Have you never said anything that you really did not mean the way you said it, especially if you are speaking in front of a crowd and might be nervous. I have followed this campaign very closely and not ones have I had the impression that Mrs Obama is an “angry black woman”.
And to Liz McNally. So you want Mrs Obama to be “thankful” that she could possible be the first African-American First Lady. And for those desicions that “all” Americans were able to make. Many African-Americans weren’t even aloud to vote until about 40 some years ago.
Maybe you wasn’t aware of that.
I understand her position; just as we all do, if we are honest. Anybody with children knows that we are not always proud of everything they do but we alway love them. Its the same for my country, I am certainly not proud of everything she has done, but I love her. I think we should stop parsing every syllable of every politician let alone their family. I’ll be glad when the age of political correctness is over and people can feel free to speak their mind. Get off the lady and move on to more important issues.
I think you have taken this to extremes you cannot find anything on obama so you make everything into a big situation get over this issue and move on to something else. It’s getting old already
WORDS MATTER!!!
“for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”
WORDS MATTER!!! YES THEY DO!!!
they sure do…especially your wife`s words when she`s making statements like this…but it`s not just what she said…as much as the fact that she actually stated this at least twice…almost as bad, every Obama supporter`s out there trying to tell us all what Mrs. Obama really meant…which begs the question…Why doesn`t she come out and explain it for herself…in her own words and not in someone else`s…stolen? by the Great Messiah…well…just maybe because…SHE`S AFRAID SHE`ll SLIP AGAIN…showing us all again just how anti-American she, (they???), really are…
if you really want change, Hillary Clinton`s running on almost the very same platform of change…which The Great Preacher man stole from her…
the Proof is that she was working on her health care plans back in the 90`s and all her other plans since…and long before she helped Obama get elected to the Senate in 04…also, for 8 yrs., she got a 1st hand look at how to run the country and what it takes to be a successful black Pres…thru her husband, Bill…who many have often called the 1st black President…and she has more experience working things out in the Congress than Obama who`s resume is only 2 yrs. in the Senate learning how to say,
“PRESENT!!!” and “WORDS MATTER!!!”
most of the time…not that much else…oh, except when, according to McCain, he supported, etc., bombing one of our allies once…way to go, Obama…showing his vast inexperience once again…which is the last thing we need in the White House right now…a literally, ‘Learning on the Job’, Pres…especially if he`s gonna be trying to get all his proposals of change thru both houses of Congress, etc…and if he tries one of those stolen? gospel/inspirational speeches there, i suspect they`ll laugh him right back into the oval office…
yep…words matter alright…but experience could very well prove to matter more!
and, btw, Obama…it`s, “I speak well”…not “I speak good”…
ENGLISH MATTERS!!!
Hey…is it too late to nominate Obama`s speech-writer fpr President?…
I dont care how any comment is said..whether in the heat of a discussion or layed back comment or during a passionate speech. That comment she made was very deep rooted and comes from way down inside. It shows to me that she does have issues that have made her very mad in the past and for her to say that she is “finally” proud? Oh come on. It absolutely sickens me to think she could potentially become the First Lady. Gee I wonder what kind of discussions they have as husband and wife? I feel they are along the same lines. Egad here we go!! Good Luck John!!
I watched Bill O’Reilly Tuesday night and I was proud that he stood up for our country! What Michelle Obama said was an …obamanation… to our country! I listened to O’Reilly’s guest,Dr Hill, who tried to spin Michelle Obama’s words…he said that what she meant was…that this is the first time Americans are standing up for change…HOG WASH! Americans have been standing up for change since the conception of this country! She should pick up a history book. Americans have faught wars abroad and at home and spilled blood standing up for hope and change..for decades,we have stood up for women’s rights, stood with Dr King for civil rights, stood up for children’s rights, disabled persons rights, and the list goes on….and yes Mrs. Obama…Americans have stood up for free speach that gives you the right to slam AMERICA. If this country is so awful then feel free to pick a new one for yourself!! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL WHO STAND UP FOR IT!!!
I guess we have been so severly scarred by this Administration that we are starving for a little faith and hope in this country again. This is what makes us so vulnerable to the “Great Preacher Man” named Obama. We are all in the need for a little faith folks. I get it. Sorry folks, but that is why there is a division of church and state in this country. I have my religion. I do not need my President preaching it to me. And not everyday can be Sunday.
In as much as I have respect for those that have the ability to move people with words…. I am reminded that so did Hitler and some of the worst men that this world’s history has know. I fear sending this “Preacher” on a foreign diplomatic mission. How will he be perceived by the world? Have we not learned our lesson yet? We do not have the right to go and “preach” to another country how to live, what to belive in..EVEN democracy. Somehow I feel that other countries will perceive Obama as they do Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Lois Farakon. We should not let this happen…American wake up!
Michelle Obama’s comment is very sad. Did she not, even for a moment, feel pride to be an American on 9/11? Shame on her! She has the the dear-in-the-headlights look. Not a first lady by any stretch of the imagination..
I see this country going down a very dangerous path of mixing politics and Sunday sermons. That is not what will get us back to work, end the war, save our homes, put $ back into your savings, to win back the respect of our neighbors, of our own citizens. Maybe even Michelle Obama…
I refuse to believe that this country wants to go from Bush’s cowboy antics to Obama’s Sunday morning prayer service. How ridiculous is that????
It’s not too late….remember what happened when Jones Town drank the kool-aid.
ARE YOU SURE THIS IS WHO YOU WANT FOR YOUR PRESIDENT???
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/o/obama-salute.htm
I agree with the comment left by “proud to be an ameriacn”,and I couldn’t have said it any better. It was a very arrogant and un-patriotic or american thing to say.I am 30 years old,so this possible future first lady has been an adult for many years longer than I have, yet I can look back and think of so many reasons to be proud to live in this great nation and have the opportuniity to be a part of the american dream.I also agree with the comment that we have all heard the “dirty laundry list”on Hillary, but this article is not about Hillary at all.And I have not even seen or heard Hillary’s campaign comment on Mrs. Obama’s remarks. This story broke on national news channels and on the blogs.I wonder where Barack Obama’s “better half”was at last night when he gave his 45 minute victory speech in Texas?!?!?She is usally right by his side, holding his hand as she should be.Yet he never mentioned her and she still hasn’t came out and explained what she REALLY meant(she made the same comment twice, the second time was when she said it was the first time in her adultlife that she has “really”been proud of her country.)I suppose his campaign advisors told him to give such a long victory speech and the story of his wife will fade from the spotlight. However they were mistaken. The talk radio hosts have been “spinning”it all morning, and it was covered repeatedly by all 3 news channels last night. At least Hillary has never put down her country, and both John and Cindy McCain came out to say how proud they are to be american’s,and John McCain is a true american hero.My vote will go to Hillary on march 4th,if she loses the primary,I will vote for McCain in november.
It’s a sad day for America when someone, especially one who will possibly become the First Lady of our great United States has the nerve to say she was not a proud American until now. Where has she been living? She has been afforded so much more than so many other Americans and for her to say this really shows her true colors. Simply seeing the American flag flying on homes or businesses truly makes me proud to be an American! Although I have not always believed in our choice for President, I have still been proud that I live in a country where we have freedom and choices. The Obamas scare me and what will happen to our America??? I only know John McCain will get my vote - for I know he is a true American…
Michelle Obama’s comment that she’s prowd of her country for the first time was taken out of context. She followed this by saying there has never been such a large turnout in the vote before this.
It’s interesting that as soon as the comment is made, you “Pull the race card” which is something you all accuse the African Americans of doing. Is that the only reason why you are all so critical of Obama, his color? Look at the change that these inexperienced leaders have done for us in the past, Kennedy, King, Ghandi.
This year, unlike any other we have one of the hardest fought campaigns in recorded history. With the huge strides made by one single candidate it is becoming more and more clear that even though America is ready for change, News executives aren’t nearly as excited.
I am positive that if a person of another race made as much of an impact on this election, there would be far more publicity surrounding this mass movement of the American people. The deeper we get into this race, the more noticeable the lines can be seen.
And to Nona,
America never stood beside King. As a matter of fact America as a whole has yet to come together on anything other than this election. The advancements made have not been made by “America” as a whole, but rather by those that on one hand held the American flag and in the other a whip. Tell me one concrete thing that America has done to rally every member of this society and that it patriotism. I will always love my country as I do my family. But you aren’t necessarily proud of everything your family/country has done. This is what Ms. Obama meant
I’ve read your post, and I ask for the definition of a “True American”. As I read each of them, this used often and it needs clarification. I believe all who posted their comments to be intelligent and articulate. So did I miss the boat here? I know what Mrs. Obama said and my first reaction was “Boy has she offended White America.” As a very proud American, I am truly disappointed when I read several of the comments. Please forgive me if I offend you but unless you are a minority or suffered any type of discrimination in this country you couldn’t possibly understand what she was trying to express. Everyone is so caught up in being politically correct that we loose what we are trying to say. Maybe she chose her words poorly. I forgive her. I would never have believed in my life time of 40 years that the United States would consider electing a Black Man or a Woman as the President. I know White America believes minorities should get over it. The slaves are freed, Blacks and Women have the right to vote and you have Affirmative Action. However, every once in while people of color and women get to do a happy dance. Yes, a happy dance and smile that change is coming. Regardless if Obama wins or loses, for the first time in U.S. history all Americans can do a happy dance. We can shed ourselves from the past and move towards the future. We and mostly you White America has given minorities hope that change is coming. That maybe you are looking past skin color and gender. Maybe, that is what White America is saying. If this is truly your message then on behalf of Ms. Obama I apologize. Her words were not to offend you but words of pride. I too am very proud to be an American and I am proud that White America is giving me the chance to say “I am proud of you”. Without you, we together would have missed this historical event. We are writing a new page in history, giving birth to a new America and letting the world know that together we stand United.
Thank you
Obama has placed his entire campaign on the “WORDS MATTER” but when his wife makes anti-american comments, oh, it was a mistake, taken out of context. It was not taken out of context. Michelle Obama is showing her true colors - the same colors of Obama - they are anti-american sneeking under the guise of words. Words, Words, Words - listen people. Our country, our way of life is in danger. The Republicans will stomp Obama in the ground during the next election. If the democrats want the chance to get back into the white house, wake up and smell the coffee people, vote for Hillary. Otherwise, we will be enjoying another 8 years of Republicans in the white house, which by the way, I am looking forward to.
And there is a possibility that she will be First Lady! What a sad day in America. I’m a democrat but I have to admit that Cindy McCain has more class in her little finger than Michelle Obama will ever have. Now that Michelle has stuck her foot in her mouth, the excuses will open flood gates from everyone except the Obama’s of course.
She should spend some time in Iraq where women are treated like dogs. Maybe she’ll be proud of that. Her remarks (not once but twice) were a slap in the face of the American people. I agree with every thing Bill O’Reilly said last night on the Factor. I hope and pray that the Democrats wake up and smell the coffee before it’s too late. This whole “movement” makes me think of the following of the Anti-Christ. Think about it America.
It is disgusting that Michelle Obama could say such a thing. How could she not be proud of her country? She has the freedoms and advantages that this nation offers to all people. She received an education at prestigeous school. Her husband, who has no experience, is given the opportunity to run for President. The Liberal Media have circled him in an array of sunshine and hope like he is a Savior for this country who by the Liberal Media’s standpoint is in shambles. I am sick of hearing the degrading of our country just because there are some liberal politicians who were angry that George W. Bush won the 2000 and 2004 elections and have been determined not to allow him to have a successful Presidency. Well because they have there vendetta against him, they have prevented great things from happening which Our President has tried to get through Congress. Everyone is complaining about high oil prices. We wouldn’t be dependent on foreign oil if the liberals would have allowed drilling in Anwar and development of oil refineries to become more independent.
Also I am sick of hearing about the failed policies of the Bush Administration in the War on Terror. They are not failed policies. When we went to war in Iraq, President Bush said it would be a “long” war to fight this new enemy, Extreme Radical Muslims, who hate our freedoms. President Bush has kept us safe, without the help of Congress, in spite of Congress fighting him every step of the way. The fight over the wiretapping is ridiculous, it is a method to help discover plans being made to attack us, and the democrats don’t want to have that capability (go figure). I guess they want us to get attacked again. People should love George W. Bush because he has done everything possible to keep our country safe and make decisions in all areas to do what he believes is right for America. In spite of the negative attacks he keeps focus on the facts of every situation and does not make radical decisons based on other peoples spontaneous opinions of how things should be, he has to look at the big picture not only one aspect of a situation.
Also look at the Fox News Website to see the vote count for the 2000 election. George W. Bush WON the popular vote by approx 500 votes. Also there were numerous recounts in Florida and every time, no matter how hard they tried to make the outcome different …BUSH WON……..
SO get over those elections and move on…… In 2008 we cannot afford to have a President elected that will withdraw the troops before the job is done and IRAQ is secure. We cannot afford to have inexperienced people running the country, which both OBAMA and HILLARY are.. It also appears that the Obama really do not support what America has stood for and was founded on.
WAKE UP AMERICA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MCCAIN/ROMNEY would be best for AMERICA !!!!!!!
As a winter visitor to your country I am fascinated by your political process..but could you tell me how Michelle Obama, a child of the inner city and an hourly paid worker, got to Princeton and Harvard with its enormous fees? I suppose that scholarships/affirmative action schemes must have played a role. Despite that, Mrs. Obama has never been proud of the country that engineered her very privileged higher education? To paraphrase her husband “words matter” and her angry and high handed speech deserves to be honestly looked at. Mrs. Obama needs to be held to account.
It looks like your true feelings come out when you are allowed to express yourself.
If mrs obama bin laden is not or has not been proud of this country at anytime perhaps
she should leave and relocate to Afghanistan,Iraq,Pakistan or anywhere else she would prefer.
I am sure we proud Americans would pay for her ticket one way only.
Bob G
GO BARACK. HA HA HA HA
Of course they are playing it down! She shoed her true self.
Michelle, pack your bags and move to another country!
You are one of the problems with America NOT a solution.
McCain 2008 or
Hillary 2008
Does everyone here vote? If you do great, if you don’t why don’t you? There are a vast majority of people who are willing to let other people think for them, like those who did not listen to the whole Michelle Obama speech but get themselves so riled up about a clip that is taken out of context. I think this is the first time in my adult life that a true majority of Americans might make it to the polls. That is fantastic. I just dont appreciate much some of the media manipulation its treacherous but I guess power of media and ethics haven’t gone hand in hand in a long time.
I would be suprised if this gets posted
Think about it America
I only know John McCain will get my vote - for I know he is a true American
We can see Mrs. Obama’s comments for what they are: underlying black anger coming to the surface. It is in the hearts of many Afro-Americans. It will be a dangerous potential for unrest as the election proceeds, especially if a white woman steals the nomination from a very popular and charming Afro-American candidate
Very interesting choice of words….half the world would likely become proud americans if they could. Her husband has already had two years to start a change, why wait until become President. Is not the Senate a good place to start? McCain has already brought change while a seating Senator, sometimes even to the deslike of some of his colleges
As in Get Real Conservatives.
You conservatives had no problems with the words from the worst administration in American history when they sent their minions out to label those who opposed the Iraq war as Un-American. There was no problem then when your side offended more than half the population. Or no problems when the VP was sent out to slander and ruin the good name of those individuals who dared expose the misinformation the worst administration in American history was foisting on us. No problems then either.
So now you are inferring that Ms Obama’s statement is so upsetting that it makes her unfit to be first lady or that she is not American enough to be first lady. That she would not be concerned about all Americans. Get Real!
Too bad your view of America is so constrained and so frail. My America is strong enough to take criticism like that and be a better place for it. I am so tired of the social conservatives believing that their views are those of the majority. Social conservatives are a minority of this great country and had your chance to foist your view of the world on the rest of us. And now after long last it is now being rejected.
The myopathy of conservatism never ceases to amaze me. How deluded are you all that you can’t see that many in America find the words from your side as disqualifying and renders those on your side as unworthy to lead our great nation.
Get Real
Of course they sre going to down play it. This was a given.
I AM A STRONG SUPPORTER OF THE 2nd AMENDMENT. WE WILL NOT HAVE THAT WITH HILLARY,OBAMA OR MCCAIN. YOU PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO BE THINKING OF THESE SERIOUS ISSUES SINCE WE HAVE NO BORDERS . MIKE AND RON ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO SPEAK OUT TO THIS;;

As a 49-year-old black woman who has lived in America all my life and a few years older than Mrs. Obama I can clearly relate to the “really” that accompanied her statement. What I am surprised about is that such a “fair and balanced” channel such as this is not “feelin it”. It is painfully obvious that things have not always been as they are now so I think everyone except the media gets what she meant without spin.
Mrs. Obama is quite strange. I guess she doesn’t consider going to Harvard priveledged. I guess that being a lawyer isn’t a great accomplishment (with all of the $$$ that they make; and in what other country could she do it?) Her husband has been a senator of a big state….not proud of that, huh?? What is she going to be proud of…taking up residence in the White House, or maybe even that isn’t enough for some people.
Yes I think her comment was appalling. She showed her true self. I think both are arrogant and self serving. I am a Democrat but I will be voting for McCain. I will not vote for someone who lacks experience and who is saddled with arrogance.

Doubt if this comment will be posted because after all I am attempting to leave a comment in the Fox News.
Hello people! WAKE UP! does anyone notice the elephant in the parlor? Bill O’reilly made a racist comment about lynching. And he has gotten away with making RACIST COMMENTS numerous times in the past!
He has deserved to be fired from the network for a long time! Why isn’t he? Is it because Fox News is not only neo-con but also racist?
I think Michelle has been going to that church too long. Martin Luther King should be turning over in his grave. She state in a UK news paper that it was time to tell the black folk it was ok to vote for Obama. Segegating this election. With this kind of aditude we will have race riots if FL and MI are seated.
