The Across America Tour, Day Seven: St. Louis

By Lee Ross

We left St. Louis headed west and stopped in Columbia which is more or less in the middle of Missouri. To our pleasant surprise, despite the reports and ominous look in the sky, we ran into no weather troubles for the rest of the journey (though Eric regrets the decision to leave his gloves in the car to shoot our report on the campus of the University of Missouri.)

It had cooled a lot since St Louis.  Mizzou is also the alma mater of Phil Keating (and Major Garrett), who showed off his UofM Journalism education with his excellent interview of a couple of students, who like so many other college kids across the country, are supporting Sen. Obama. We found them on a football field practicing for an ultimate Frisbee competition in Virginia next month. Good Luck guys!

Off to Kansas City.

Dear Eddie, Wednesday, Morticia and Herman:

How are the ELVES holding up? What’s it like on the road?

It was fun following you guys around the country today.

I miss the rockin’ music, though. I was enjoying the mix of country and rock before the
Sound MalFU—nction.

Will try to catch you guys tomorrow if possible.

Be safe!!!

Phil, need to slow down while interviewing. Not asking enough questions. Ross the intern on Leno is does better!

Yeah man…what happened to the tunes today? I heard Keating say the F word and then nothing… no more music. Great work though! Must be long days for you all.

I am furiouse about this comment from Obama. He is refering to women who get moody when on their mentrual cycle. How disgusting.

Obama told reporters who had asked about Clinton’s latest attack ad, “I understand that Senator Clinton, periodically when she’s feeling down, launches attacks as a way of trying to boost her appeal.”

Do you have any coverage of the OTHER candidate? Polls show that, despite a near-total media blackout, one in four voters in America likes MIKE HUCKABEE! Do we get to hear about him or his views? What happened to “fair and balanced” and “We report, YOU decide”?
