Obama - “Just words?”
The latest attack on Barack Obama from his main rival, Hillary Clinton, is that he is all talk - and talk doesn’t necessarily produce results. He may be able to deliver a good speech, but speeches don’t put food on the table. Obama has responded to this latest criticism in recent speeches, but at tonight’s Wisconsin State Democratic Founder’s Day Dinner, he reacted more forcefully and with greater passion than he has to date.
“The most important thing we can do right now is to reengage the American people in the process of governance. To get them excited and interested again in what works and what can work in our government, to make politics cool again and important again and relevant again. Don’t tell me words don’t matter,” he said, voice rising.
To hammer it home, Obama then evoked some of the most memorable lines from our nation’s greatest speeches to make the point that words can, in fact, matter and make a difference. “‘I have a dream!’ Just words. ‘We hold these truths to be self evident that all me are created equal.’ Just words. ‘We have nothing to fear but fear itself.’ Just words. Just speeches,” he said.
“It’s true that speeches don’t solve all problems, but what is also true is if we cannot inspire the country to believe again, then it doesn’t matter how many policies and plans we have, and that is why I am running for president of the United States of America, and that is why we just won 8 elections straight, because the American people want to believe in change again. Don’t tell me words don’t matter!”
It’s unclear if the candidate thinks his words are on par with those above spoken by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Abraham Lincoln, and FDR, but yesterday at a rally in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Obama did agree that his oratory skills are above average.
“It’s true I give a good speech. What can I do? Nothing wrong with that,” he admitted. “But understand the reason why the ability to motivate people and inspire people is important because the problems we face right now are not technical…..The question is who can bring Democrats, Independents, and Republicans into a working majority to bring about change. That’s what I offer that [Senator Clinton] can’t do.”

obama says: The question is who can bring Democrats, Independents, and Republicans into a working majority to bring about change. That’s what I offer that [Senator Clinton] can’t do.”
Will someone…anyone…challenge him on this ? he is only manipulating fears of republicans and he naively believes that republicans want to unite with him and dems. he cannot even get dems around him — look at the latino, older, and rural vote. i’m a black guy who doesnt support him….and i think a lot of people will not and will either refuse to vote or vote for mccain. of course, the great obama believes that republicans will eat from his toenails
Your choice between two talented candidates Senator Hillary RODHAM Clinton and Sen. Barack HUSSEIN Obama. Good luck
It’s not Obama who originally claimed he made “a good speech.” It’s the Clinton’s who claim that’s the only thing he has going for him. His point with the snippets was not that his words were on par with those great quotes, but that words DO matter.
It might also help though, for you to read both of his books, as you’ll realize he’s also quite good with words. It’s just up to history to make the judgment as to what level they reach.
Hey, Tony. I’m a Democrat although I lean Independent. I will vote for McCain before I vote for Clinton.
GO OBAMA!
We have lived, first hand, the impotence of a president that lacked oratory skills. Why do people feel threatened by the rare few who possess such a gift and use it for public service? I, for one, will be proud to have someone representing the United States who people around the world will actually listen to and respect.
Go Obama
why do i want to read his bible, i mean propoganda? i already know he is good with words.
Obama is right. Words inspire. Can someone please challenge Hillary on actions. To my knowledge she has no political accomplished during her 6 years in the senate. The biggest vote of her career was to invade Iraq. I’m a den but will vote mccain if hill is the nominee
Inspiring stories about Mrs. Clinton can be found here: http://www.hillarythemovie.com/index.htm
Latest on the Larry Sinclair debacle.
Hurry because FOX always deletes it. They won’t use it until Obama is the nominee
http://www.thewhitehouse.com
If only pretty words were all it took to lead. I’d vote for Ian McKellan before Obama.
Hi waynepj3. What do you think that Obama have achived during the time that he is serving in the senate?
even though Hillary’s vote to invade Iraq was the only greatest thing in her political career (as you have said), I personally think she is still better than a coward Obama. What did Obama do at 911? I think that he was somewhere else singing “CUMBAYAH” since he voted No.
I’m a republican but I will vote for Hillary if she is nominated.
Obama is a preacher. Now they find out they have staged these girls fainting at his
speeches. People wake up!!! This is serious. He cannot lead our country.
NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY; HILLARY SUCKS.
Wow, so even Fox news has jumped on the Obama bandwagon! How shameful. I looked to Fox News as being the last channel to hold him accountable, now even you have fallen under his spell.
Well, I guess the Republicans are smart, as I will vote Republican for the first time in my life if Obama get the Democratic nomination. I don’t vote for words and hot air, I vote for sound policies and solutions. All Obama can tell us is, “YES WE CAN!” What a crock!
Much as I dislike Clinton she is absolutely correct about Obama.
Nothing but words.
You can hire a guy that lives in a van down by the river alot cheaper and hear the same thing Obama says.
I’m pretty upset with the democratic choices. Both candidates seem weak.
It’s really amazing how Obama portrays himself as being this great unifying force, but how exactly has he unified anything? He has fractured the democratic party, waffled on the issues, and blatantly race baited time and time again.
I also find it suspect every time Obama proclaims another Republican has voted for him. My question is what proof has he of this? Oh yeah, NONE! Why would republicans vote for the most liberal senator in the United States? Why would Republicans vote for a candidate who supports drivers licenses for illegal immigrants, some who may be terrorists?
I don’t realistically see Obama unifying anything other than the most radical left wing fringes of the party. As a lifelong democrat I say again, I will vote Republican for the first time ever if we select this bag of hot air as our candidate.
The last thing America needs is another divider! Obama reminds me of Bush and his now infamous words, “I want to be a uniter, not a divider.” Yeah, that really worked great!
Please, Tony, no need to be a racist. To date, the election results show that the country will vote for someone named Barack HUSSEIN Obama just as often as Hillary RODHAM Clinton. That’s one of the best things about the election — that people are looking beyond stereotypes. Women are voting for a male candidate and vice versa. The “Hussein” argument just makes you look shallow, and I doubt most Clinton supporters agree. At least I’m one who doesn’t.
I agree that Obama is constantly out there pompously trying to look presidential with a lot of slogans and, as Hillary noted, just a bunch of words. He admits that he is using words to “insprire” and not to prove he has what it takes to run our country:
He wants to “inspire the country to believe again, then it doesn’t matter how many policies and plans we have, and that is why I am running for president of the United States of America.”
What kind of goblledygook is that? Hillary is right, he is not cheap on words. For him, as he says, policies and plans do not matter. It’s rhetoric that counts.
Clinton’s camp has been circulating stories criticising the “cult” of Obama in the hope of portraying “Obamania” as a mass delusion. Media Matters, a watchdog organisation sympathetic to Clinton, compiled a report headlined, “Media figures call Obama supporters’ behaviour ‘creepy’, compare them to Hare Krishna and Charles Manson followers”.
It was forwarded by Sidney Blumenthal, a top Clinton adviser, to select reporters.
Barack Obama is a documented flip flopper, most politicians are. The difference with this liar though is that he portrays himself as being holier than thou.
What a joke! Give America a skilled orator and they fall in line like sheep. Give them someone who promises them a bag of goods he cannot possibly deliver, and they fall in love.
What a joke this man who supports defeat in Iraq is! Hillary actually cares about Americans and has realistically achievable goals that will make our country stronger and safer! She is amenable to keeping troops in Iraq as long as it takes, so long as the Iraqis continue to make political progress. All Obama supports is DEFEAT!
Yet the media treats Obama as if he can do no wrong! Why haven’t you been asking the tough questions, FOX NEWS!?! Are you afraid you will be called racist? Whenever anyone asks him specifics all he can say is, “YES WE CAN!” Well I sure don’t buy it. I will vote McCain if he gets the democratic nod!
Ricky,
One wonders whether the reason Republicans have been so praiseful of Obama and so negative about Hillary is that they want him nominated, thinking they have a better chance of beating him than Hillary in November. They’d better switch tactics, stop bashing Hillary and start slamming Obama now that he doesn’t look so beatable. In fact, FoxNews, even Bill O’Reilly, was praising Obama and bashing Hillary until recently. But, we are now witnessing a change of tune.
what a bunch of cynics some of you are? wake up and smell the coffee. There is a whole world out there and it doesn’t particularly like what it has seen in the past 7 years. Why are Americans abroad mostly voting for Obama ?…..they see another perspective. Why do young people like Obama……..they are inheriting the mess.
If you can’t see what you have in Obama …then more fools you. ….
If you want to know why Obama has been so successful so far in his campaign, all you need to do is listen to his speeches and the amount of money he has poured into his campaign (unprecedented in any Democratic primary).
People sooner or later will get tired of his eloquent speeches; they’ll realize that he is selling air bubbles in a nice wrap of elaborate speeches. They don’t mean anything tangible or practical. They’re a lot of nothing about nothing. So, his only hope is to outspend Hillary with the money of George Soros and other elitist Democrats like Ted Kennedy and John Kerry!
He’d rather prepare for his speeches in front of mirrors in closed doors for hours, but not participate in debates. Why? Because he is like a blank page, in which everybody writes his own ideas or dreams in it. Dreams that will never be realized, because he is a puppet to special interests and radical Hollywood elites!
He doesn’t want the people to know that there is nothing behind this blank page.
He has nothing to offer besides his speeches. He is worthless and will spell the death knell of the Democratic party!
And one more thing, to all those guys who STILL cannot overcome their sexist tendencies. GROW OUT OF IT.. I know I did! Obama will lead our nation down a path of complete and utter destruction unprecedented in our history!
Hillary is the best candidate at this crucial time. She is not perfect, I know… But
we have the responsibility to elect the most qualified person, man or woman; we owe
that to our children and our country. Obama won’t even salute the flag! Is this who we want as president?
The last “inspiring” Democrat that was long on talk and short on experience was
Jimmy Carter. He was going to bring the country together after the Nixon scandal.
Look how well that turned out. And the Democrats were lost in the woods for
12 years after that. If the far left succeeds in getting Obama nominated, I’m
voting for McCain. I doubt McCain will serve more than one term. and maybe
by 2012 the Democrats will have come to their senses and nominate an adult.
I fear Obama will be Jimmy Carter 2 and after 2012 we will be stuck with another
12 years of Republicans in the White House.
Obama also answered Clinton’s rhetoric recently by saying (paraphrasing): “It’s true that speeches don’t solve problems but neither do negative attack ads.
Touche! Shot down. Clinton - GUILTY
Take a moment, and think about all the candidates. A president needs to inspire people, help the people what is the right thing to do. If you are expecting a president to come up with a clear step by step guide to success you are morons.
Go obama, I am pretty sure you will make a good president. You will be in the history books.
Maeve,
Obama and Hillary have very similar plans for our country. They have consistently voted exactly the same way for funding the war in Iraq. Hillary did not vote outright for the Iraq war. She voted, like 81 other Democrats, in favor of a resolution that would authorize the president, working jointly with the UN, and allowing the continued presence of inspectors in Iraq, to use force only as a last resort. Bush ignored those conditions and went blindly ahead with his war plans. I’ll vote Democrat, no matter who wins the nomination. It’s time we showed the world that we did not agree with Bush’s (the Republicans) unilateral rush to war. Hopefully, Obama or Hillary will enable us to regain our reputation as a peaceful nation open to diplomacy and not just the tough talk and threats we have been addressing at countries like Iran and North Korea.
To Man from Texas for Hillary
Saying Obama does not salute the flag is pure nonsense. I hope you haven’t been misled by some outrageous propaganda.
Sammy,
I suspect you are correct in assuming that the Republicans were hopping for Obama because they thought he would be easier to beat, and they would be right. Thing is they are now realizing that they probably have no chance of winning a general election so they want someone who would be better for the country, that someone is Hillary Clinton.
Obama just started believing in these causes. Hillary has fought for them for years. Obama starting courting hispanics only because he wants our votes. He has done NOTHING for us and we know it. She has been attending and speaking at our conferences for years. She wasn’t even running for office. I am greatful for the two years that my children had healthcare with Hillary’s SCHIP program while I finished college. Now we make far more money and I gladly pay more taxes because of this. I don’t need the help anymore, but I know she will continue to help others. Obama has still done nothing for us.
I am not drinking the Kool-Aid. I would rather be for Clinton standing up then fired up for Obama falling down. If Obama is the nominee I will vote John McCain and I haven’t voted Republican since Ronald Regan. The economy and national security are too important to take a trip to the Island of Hope. This is a half-baked junior senator who is really good with words. Maybe in 4-8 years. Let’s see how much reaching out across the aisle in the senate he can actually do until then.
Ricky, Carol
Either way, I think we have to support the Democrat who gets nominated. A vote for McCain would be almost like supplorting Bush’s disastrous policies that have damaged our reputation around the world, making us look like clowns. By the way, one can say whatever one wishes about Bill Clinton, but he received a standing ovation at the UN by most of the world’s nations even after the Monica affair. While Bush rarely received any significant applause whenever he spoke before the world.
But Sammy, Obama openly advocates defeat in Iraq and supports direct dialog and diplomatic relations with Iran. How can we get fired up about that? Iran denies the Holocaust ever happened! I am really scared about the future of this country. At least with McCain you KNOW he has America’s best interests in mind, even if that means sacrificing on domestic social issues. I cannot support a defeatist like Obama; he wants to cede power to the Mullahs of the radical Islamic world. I just can’t get on board with that. As I cast my vote for McCain I will probably tear up, but I have to put American foreign policy first, and Obama’s vague assurances of greatness (while sacrificing American ideals) second. Am I wrong Sammy?
Ricky and All Obama haters,
I think you should sit up and understand that America’s Macho attitude towards the rest of the world is the reason why no country is supporting America in Iraq.It is quite silly to think that the only way that America can be safe is trying to control these countries.Look, Russia keeps on supplying Iran wit h fuel for its nuclear reactors. The GDP of China and India will be greater than that of the United States by 2025 according to the World Bank.Even the Iraq war is being financed by money borrowed from China.Obama has a lot of accomplishments you just need to research about it, read about his policies on his site. Tell me exactly what Hillary has done in the 35 or so years of experience she claims to have. Look , america was very much loved in other countries, now everyone hates America outside. Please if you want to understand the effects of American foreign policy , travel outside the country and be educated about what is going on in the outside world. Another McCain will be disaster for America, the same bullish policies will be pursued and will bring greater hate for Americans.Remember, America’s military is very short-handed in Iraq and if this war is going to go on for a long time as John McCain seems to suggest, then it makes it a lot more difficult to react to an attack from another country.Think about it, regroup military by withdrawing from Iraq , Improve economy and start exporting and creating more jobs, Pursue policies which will make America a lot more friendly to other nations. This Obama can do because he is not too stupid not to take ideas from other people or be willing to accept responsibility for his mistakes(unlike Bush).America’s problems can only be solved by Democrats and Republicans
King,
You are just like Obama, trying to condescendingly lecture us on the state of the world today and what must be done to correct the imbalance. Like Obama you say “look,” and he says “understand.” We are not idiots, Mr. King, we know what you are up to!
“Improve economy and start exporting… more jobs.”
Exporting more jobs? Haven’t we exported enough jobs already? My goodness, get a grip!
“he is not too stupid not to take ideas from other people.”
Ah, hello! I guess in your rush to the anointment of Obama you have failed to notice he took almost all of his ideas from the websites of Clinton and Edwards! That is a fact!
OK, I you got me there. I misread what you said. So Obama “isn’t too stupid to not take other peoples ideas,” he is just to stupid to come up with his own.
Hey haters,
Read for yourself, i don’t understand why Obama does not tell people about all these achievements.
Someone should come up with hillary’s accomplishments and lets see who is all talk

Sammy;
Watch and listen for yourself if you think Hillary didn’t vote to go to war.
As for the rest of you Hillary supporters who think she has solutions and speaks of how she is going to anything maybe you ask congress what she can and can’t do. Until they pass legislation all she is doing is blowing hot air and copying Obama’s words to make herself look good because she can’t come up with anything of her own. Obama has been saying the same things all along while Hillary keeps changing her words to appeal to certain groups since her strategy was a failure to believe that she was unstoppable and this race would have been over by now just goes to show who is a better planner and who can get things done. So if you want to vote for McCain if she doesn’t get the nomination, go ahead then you will have been wrong not once but twice.
Ricky;
You can send your thank you card to Bill for all of the jobs leaving our country since it was he that signed the NAFTA bill.
Ricky Jackson;
You are sadly mistaken if you think Hillary came up with those ideas by her self. She just like all of the other candidates got their ideas from experts in those fields and most likely gave the same information to all of them. Hillary has stated on numerous times that her health care plan is almost like that of Edwards, yet John Edwards submitted his plan in February of 2007 and Obama released his in May of 2007, but Hillary didn’t release hers until September of 2007.
I watched both Clinton’s and Obama’s speeches last night on C-Span. Clinton was all over the map in style - alternating between a forced “softness” and yelling. I never get the sense that she knows who she is. There is no consistency in her message or oratory style.
OBama’s speech besides being inspiring was solid, good on detail, and forceful. He was on fire ! People should check out his “Just words ” segment of the speech on his website or on YouTube.
He’s got Wisconsin in the bag. He has also campaigned there for 6 days. Clinton will have campaigned there for a grand total of one day.
Allison
Abraham lincoln had a very high pitched voice and would never had been good at speaking. But in my view he was the greatest president we ever had.
Just wanted to say that hillarys vote on iraq and irans sanctions is one of the reasons i would vote for her. Barak obama wants to have tea with leaders of nations that want to destroy israel, do not acknowledge the murder of millions of jews by the nazis, hate the us and never will like us no matter what we do or say. We need to keep our military strong and elect a president who will make decisions that may not be popular but are the right things to do.
I watched both speeches last night in Wisconsin. Clinton give perhaps one her best speeches of the campaign and Obama gave that same tired, exhausting all about nothing speech. Can someone feed him some new lines, the Hannah Montana Obama Show is really getting old.
“Words do matter Mrs. Clinton. Words inspire, they touch the heart, they enlighten the mind. Words-written words, spoken words-are the foundation of life, of civilization. Without them, we would be nowhere. Yes, one sentence, or a couple of words strung together, can change the world.”
Obama sucks’
Para nós do Brasil Obama é o melhor. O povo americano deve refletir bem no seu voto.
Vote certo Vote Obama.
to sammy,
I lived overseas in one of our allied countries before 9/11 and let me tell you america had a negative rating then (this was during the clinton years). All they want from us is money, music, and movies. Barak Obama is nothing more than a phenomenon Americangetreal impatient, real quick, you will see Obama dwindle down to 30% in the presidential polls in June. McCain is the centrist this country needs. I would like to know how Obama is going to bring this country together. He has never crossed the aisle on one vote. How is that compromise. Does he think that everyone in this country donates to Moveon. What a Joke. That endorsement and his acceptance will end any hopes he has. The majority of the country can not stand the hateful rhetoric that comes from moveon. And this guy accepts their endorsement?
since hillary wants a debate so badly, here is a deal. how about obama agrees to give her even more debates ( more than the 18 they have already had) if she agrees to finally reveal her 2006 and 2007 tax returns. the fact that she had not revealed this important information tells me and millions of others that THE CLINTON MACHINE is up to the same old same old LIES AND MORE LIES if you have nothing to hide hillary then produce the documents.
All Hillary has is speeches also….that’s what candidates do! His are inspiring and moving, with plenty of purpose. The more I listen to Hillary, the more I dread it if she gets anywhere near the nomination….running on your husbands presidency is pathetic. Bill and Hill are more interested in making history than any blue, white or otherwise collar worker out there. A rich woman giving boring speeches with no history of experience…..except Bill’s, now that is scary.
I already have a preacher, they inspire me, inlighten the mind, ONE PROBLEM I am looking for a President Nominee and they need to lead with facts and JR Senator he has very little.
The JR Senator from ILL needs a new speech, I can almost do it now. He has repeated the same story and I mean story. It is clear voters are now seeing the speeches need to carry actual facts.
Wisconsin audiance quite clearly saw it was the same speech he spun for 4 weeks now.
Word for word it was the same one given in Virgina, only he did not have the hype crowd.
It was quite obvious he has been latching on to Senior Senator Hillary Clinton plans, he acts like they were his initial plans, NOT, Hillary Clinton has the record of initiating these plans. JR Senator is copying every initiative and IT IS BECOMING REALLY APPAREINT.
Now it is quite obvious why he does not debate or ask audience questions, can not support facts.
corey,
I have to absolutely agree with you. Democrat candidates are nothing but weasels. Obama doesn’t have a significant past and he refuses to talk about it, and Clinton has a lengthy one and is hiding it. I hope union workers wake up and realize that President Bush’s “tax cuts for the rich” also include corporations. These corporations have kept union jobs flowing for the past 6 years with expansions and renovations. When these “tax cuts for the rich” are repealed, corporations are going to tighten their belt, and ride out a democratic white house. No more projects for unions. How is Obama and Clinton going to give tax cuts to the working blue collar class if they do not have paychecks. WAKE UP AMERICA!

I am just wondering what will happen to the Democratic Party when the this is over and we head to the general election? Do you think all these Obama and Hillary supporters will come together for the good of the party. Some might but I have feeling most will not.
I know I won’t. My vote will for McCain.
The media (yes even Fox) won’t go after Obama because he’s the African-American candidate (his words).
What has Obama done in the Senate? Nothing but vote present 92 times! He did it so he couldn’t be held accountable for anything!
He’s nothing but a good speaker. Smoke and mirrors folks wake up!
go to this website for the official voting record of Sen. Obama. Amazing!

I seriously can’t even begin to talk about the idiocy here. There’s a poster for you guys of the same name on Despair.com. It says “Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.” And boy that goes without saying.
So did someone say he voted present on the last 90+ times? Hmm really? THen what’s this?

Oh by the way, anyone can go to Senate.gov, the Washington post, etc. So the only smoke and mirros I see are the ones you’re trying to put off as truth when in fact BAM! right there in your face, WRONG.
Oh and since we are talking about voting records… Where exactly was Hillary when it came time to vote on FISA and the Telecom immunity? I know where she wasn’t, in Congress where Obama was voting against it.
Nice try but you better come with something better than this.
It is about the Democratic party, we have a shot at going 16 years with a Democrat in the White House only if Hillary Clinton is nominated in 2008, with a vice president of Obama. If we nominate Obama in 2008 and he fails to win the presidency we will have 8 plus years of Republicans in office.
Super deligates can certainly stear the election to protect the party AS WELL THEY SHOULD.
Of course the Republican want Obama, they will knock him off now and run a streak again.
Sorry folks it is about the Democratic Party, Obama may be a fine president someday, but too risky to do it now, when you have a perfect combo to run the table. Voter in future states should look at the big picture for the party and the country.
I sure hope the DNC does not screw this up, I am pretty sure they are aware of the above.
Obama folks don’t get too excited if Hillary wins, she will carry Obama with her in some capacity for the sake of the party, she and democratic party leaders know his talent.
WELL , THE GREATEST PRESIDENTS IN THE AMERICAN HISTORY FACED MOST OF THE CHALLENGES OBAMA IS FACING NOW. THESE ARE SOME OF THE SIGNS THAT TELL OBAMA IS GOING TO BE ONE OF THE BEST PRESIDENTS IN THE AMERICAN HISTORY.
PEOPLE DIG HSTORY AND COMPARE STUFF. YOU WILL BELIEVE.
OBAMAAAAAAAAAAAAA 08 !!!!!!
Hey Mike,
You can’t dispute the facts with personal attacks by calling someone an idiot. NOT VOTING MEANS UNACCOUNTABILITY! Does he want us to get a rebate or not? The not voting list goes on and on. he has a 65% acountability rating.(yea or nay).
End Game. Your suffering from Delusions of grandeur. What statistics have told you that Hillary Clinton is the only one that has a shot in the white house, let alone be able to win against John McCain because I’d have to say please put down the pipe. Every single poll, analysis, etc (that isn’t coming out of the Hillary camp anyway) shows Obama is the best candidate against the Republicans, and from CNN to MSNBC, hell even stupid Glenn Beck admits that Obama is pretty much unbeatable.
Sam. I didn’t say a thing about accountability which I will go into Hillary’s record as well in just a moment. What was said here and in comments back was that he voted the last 80 to 90+ times depending upon what you read, as present. Now back to back is definately bs. And if i look at the actual number that is off as well. But here’s something else that you might find as interesting reading from the very paper that endorses her. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/16/opinion/16mikva.html?_r=2&ref=opinion&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin&oref=slogin
More importantly is what issues where the candidates present for and how did they vote? Missing a vote on naming the new statue here downtown, doesn’t account for much.
Pay attention to what is going on, the republican media is spinning Obama as not have to face Hillary Clinton in November. The DNC is quite aware of this. It is amazing how many commetators are Republican but love to discuss what the Dem Party should do with FL and Mi and the super delegates. They really can care less, but only just to distract from the message the Republican party has left this country in.
I would hope most of the super delegates don’t by into the Obama republican media hype and get the right candidate nominated and that is Clinton/Obama. This will most likely be 70% Dem, 30% REP come November and that is the end game. The other way around mostly will not occur.
Quite frankly if DNC screw this up they deserve to lose. Obama will lose 65% of her voters to McMain and most likely most of FL and MI that he shun after their valid voting on 1/29.
True democrates including Obama should look at the end game, particularly if he is a uniter.
I certainly can wait for when Hillary Clinton gets the lead again, I will be LOL at the media spin.
Oh by the way, if you want to talk about Percentage missed. For you Democrats to use as a little ammunition, try on McCain’s missed vote percentage at 55.7%. Ouch.
Im sorry but that is a cheap shot to Obama and i think whoever agrees with Clinton is insane. Since when is it a bad thing or a sign of weakness when someone knows how to speak? We have a president who lacks very heavily in that department and now we bash a candidate who knows how to deliver very good speeches and makes people feel unified. You guys seem to forget that this country is called THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. we need to be united before we can tackle any issue. i was in love with the Clintons before. But now in this race there are things that are occuring that make me wonder about them. and for the Clinton camp to use the allegation that Obama can speak well but cant do anything when the time is here is crazy.
I am sure that Senator Obama is not interested in serving in Hilliary’s administration in any capacity,
so you can forget that. The question should be is Hilliary interested in serving in an Obama
administration, because that is what is going to happen and I don’t feel that Hilliary and Bill will be
asked due to their performance in the primaries
Who said I am voting for Clinton. You are the one who is dilusional. Keep getting inspired by a mediocre speaker. Ive watched 5 speaches and they are all the same. Look at the crowds’ enthusiam every “new” speach. It goes down. His first real policy he came out with was a 4000 dollar credit to students “if” they volunteer somewhere. good luck Obama. How large is the beauracracy going to be to monitor this policy. His ideas are liberally insane. His new economic package is 250 billion more than the current budget. Even if you take out the 90 billion were spending on Iraq and Afganistan, that leaves 140 billion dollars…..wheres that money going to come from? “Tax the rich”, Exxon mobile pays on average 25 billion dollars a year in taxes. If Obama gets in unemployment will jump to 8-10%. Keep dreaming, my friend, a far left liberal will not get into the oval office. Conservative democrats like my parents will jump ship if Hillary is not nominated. On the other hand if she is nominated the youth vote will dissolve. Either way McCain is in.
End game, so what you’re saying is. This is all a big conspiracy and that Republicans really want Obama to win because then they have a real chance. Please….I mean really…please tell me this isn’t what you are trying to say. If I were to just sit here and rattle off things in Hillary’s past that could come back and bite her it would take up an insane amount of space here. How about we just take one linke…ill do a quick google..ok here we go first one up: http://www.therant.us/staff/swirsky/03132006.htm. Ouch. If we add Iraq, the recent lack of a position on FISA, the smear media that came out of her camp on Obama that was blatant and false…and that’s recent. Like I said i could take up quite a bit of time here. On Obama what do they got that hasn’t already been put out there? Larry Sinclair? really…that’s the best they got? Some gay mental patient who is obsessed with the man? What else do you have?
mike,
Ill take your word for the 55%. I do not like it one bit. I am completely tired of the not voting in congress ON ANYTHING. This is their job. And to anyone who calls Obama a uniter, where is his name on any bipartisan bill. Does McCain/Kennedy ring a bell? This man has proven himself to be a uniter, not just the promise of one. Obama wants to reward illegal foreign nationals with drivers liscenses. In the Liberal state of New York, 85% of the people are against this. This is proof of how far left he is.
sam. Really? Enthusiasm goes down when every city and town he speaks in posts record numbers of participation. His “rallys” as they are coined due to the overwhelming amount of people who attend them now vs. in the past when it was just a town hall, are jam packed with people lineing up down blocks in cold weather just to get a glimpse. Tell your parents to go ahead and jump ship because there’s no where to go. McCain is going to lose. Fact. A Republican has a snowballs chance in hell of winning this election. The only slight possibility is if McCain could somehow corral in the conseravtives (IF he took on Hucakbe that would be interesting) and go into the race as the undisputed nominee and backed by the entire Republican party against a fractured democratic party who goes into the convention divided. Then ..and only then, might they have a problem and the only way a Hillary could beat them then is if Obama was her VP. Hillary needs Obama though far more than he needs her. He’s got all the paying doners and the motivation. Facts alone won’t win you an election. People want to be inspired.
Hillary’s votes missed record by the way is 27% just in case someone was wondering.
The rancor displayed by all of the Obama people when anyone has the nerve to criticize Obama is unsettling. It should cause all of us to look at them more closely.
I have seen the rallies where they look with adulation at someone who is basically skillfully delivering someone else’s words. We are not electing his speechwriter.
Everyone complains that he is inexperienced and has no record. That is not true. He has a long history of making promises to the people of Illinois that he did not keep.
I think that it’s time to decompress step back and take a harder look at this guy who says that he has all of the answers or at least he HOPES that he has does.
