It is true that Obama has changed his style since Iowa, but the reason was because he had to reach a lot of voters in the Super Tuesday states. I believe Obama made a rhetorical mistake in New Hampshire: he should have been more open to a town hall format. But he changed this in Nevada and took plenty of questions as ’should be clear to all knowledgeable voters.’ I can’t remember what he did in South Carolina.

Watch the upcoming contest in Wisconsin where Obama’s campaign has said they will do a number of town hall meetings. One final note: Obama took questions all last year in Iowa and New Hampshire. Knowledgeable voters should be able to find many of these specific responses to voters questions on youtube. You can also find his policy positions on his website.

How quickly we forget. Hillary had a strict “no questions” policy in Iowa and NH, right up until it became clear that that wasn’t working. And previous to that, she planted questions in the audience so that she would get the best questions to highlight the most favorable answers. In contrast, Obama conducted more town hall meetings in Iowa and across the country than Clinton. He is still conducting them, where possible, although rallies of 15k don’t really make good town hall events. The reason Clinton is doing smaller events now is that she can’t fill bigger ones.

And as far as one’s ability to lead, how true, where and when has Clinton shown leadership? When she sat on the board of Wal-Mart and never once stood up for the role of Labor Unions? When she refused to negotiate on her healthcare proposal in 1994, and took the bill, and the congress, down with her? Was it when she followed George Bush into Iraq without even reading the NIE that cast serious doubt on the evidence for war? Or maybe it was when she followed him again to vote for Kyle-Lieberman and ramp us up for war with Iran? Was it maybe S-CHIP, where she had to have her arm twisted to sponsor the bill? Or maybe when she couldn’t even reign in her own husband and keep him from praising the Kazakh President whom she had recently criticized (just one example).

Here’s the truth: Hillary Clinton is a follower. She follows the wind, wherever it blows. The Clintons will do or say anything to win. They don’t care about you, your family, or anything but consolidating their own power. Vote for her if you’re content with the way things are.

HRC has to choose smaller venues because she often can’t fill large ones. Her staff has had to shuffle and remove chairs to make a large place look full. Also, she can’t afford large stadiums like Obama can because she has blown through her war chest millions.

susan– Not all the candidates can have people like Rezko supporting their campaign. Maybe you should think more about where they are getting the big $$ donations from rather than focus on meaningless garble.

All of the Rezko money was given away to charity. It’s surprising, however, that Hillary can’t afford better with money from Dubai being laundered through Bubba.

How does a woman who made 40% of her 8 million dollar book sales be able to loan her campaign 5 million dollars. When questioned about it, she refuses then to release her tax records to show where the money came from.

Last time I checked, Obama has been fully cooperative in showing all the details of the Tony Rezko money being donated away from his campaign. I think you may need to do a little more research, and not just vote to not “betray your gender”, as HRC supporters like to say.

Well … Obama is the only one (from either party) to bother visiting Idaho. This shows that he’s willing to spend some time on the states that everyone else considers too unimportant. Maybe that will translate into him paying attention to the AMERICANS that everyone else considers too unimportant (anyone remember Katrina?).

It would be more appropriate the other way around, but I think I could support an Obama/Edwards ticket.

Edwards and Clinton both advocated universal healthcare. Obama did not. Edwards and Hillary both courted labor. Obama called labor a special interest (until he needed labor in NV). Clinton is winning in the popular vote. She and Edwards both appeal to the poor and working classes and fight for their rights. Obama appeals to the wealthy so-called “liberal elite.” I think if Edwards is going to maintain his populist position, he can’t really do it with someone who thinks it’s ok to leave 15 million people without health insurance.

Tim– C’mon, Obama was just busted for only giving pennies on the dallor to charity’s from the Rezko donations he recieved. When he was asked about it he said ” I will have to check into that, I know most of that money was already spent”. It seems to me that you don’t keep up with the latest on your candidate of choice . The difference is this. Obame inspires. Hillary sadly doesn’t. Her whole campaign is about her experience in Washington. Obama’s campaign is about all of us and our place in the world in the future. She offers crumbs off the table. He offers a way we can each and all make bread.

Moreoever, and more importantly, she’s not a leader but a follower. She followed the crowd in voting to invade Iraq–a ghastly mistake. She followed the crowd also on exceptions for torture, then followed them again when the politics of the moment changed. And now she has followed her husband’s lead by running for US president just as he did. See, in everything she does, she doesn’t lead, she follows. Why else would Bill feel the need to shore up her credibility by being a crutch by her side.

She isn’t where she is now so much because of any inherent qualities she possesses but because of a series of fortuitous events coupled with a calculating mind. I mean her no disrespoct because I admire this lady greatly, however while she will no doubt put her best foot forward, she is actually not cut out to be president. Like a good Hollywood actress, she only *looks* the part. By her very nature, however, she is not a Commander-in-Chief.

Obama, on the other hand, is the real McCoy, a leader in the classic mold, and a once in a generation phenomenon. He’s a trailblazer who is succeeding not by any fluke or primarily because of his connections but having struggled to overcome almost impossible odds and a host of formidable obstables bestrewn in his path to get where he is now. He wasn’t just made to be US president, he himself was the maker.

If you were reading the news yesterday, most experts agree that Obama’s domestic policy differs very little in substance from Hillary’s and he has gone over it over and over again in almost every speech he gives. You must have been…err. absent. At the same time, Obama shows wisdom. He’s a visionary but he’s a realist too. He doesn’t believe in applying band aids to fix a problem. He knows the system is badly in need of an overhaul. Only after that has been done can we realistically think about how to move forward from there.

That’s nonsense. That’s just the Clinton smear machine at work and you’ve apparently fallen for it hook line and sinker. Obama has taken part in 18 debates so far and answered questions all year in Iowa and elsewhere and continues to do so. However he can’t spend all day answering questions. They’re trying to debate him to exhaustion because nothing else is working. It’s a sign of desperation. You’re bringing up “old news” to try and prove a point in a current conversation. Since this conversation that you’re talking about happened, much has been learned about the Rezko money.

Since that comment by Sen. Obama he has released his tax returns, and made available ALL of his financial information. Now, I know what you’re thinking. “But, why would a politician be open and honest about finances?”. I’ve heard the same confused tone from MANY Clinton supporters. Since his release of all personal and campaign related financial information there has been ZERO criticism about the Rezko money. Infact, Hillary has even ditched the Rezko battle alltogether and has now changed her ridiculous diversion when asked about finances. In an interview with Politico last night (Feb. 11), when asked about her financial dealings she only responded with her questions about Sen. Obama’s dealings with Exelon. Despite the fact that Hillary co-sponsored the legislation that she is now criticizing Sen. Obama for.

I would expect that since Sen. Obama’s financial information was released, that the Clinton attack dogs would have been working overtime to find problems with his finances. I haven’t heard anything though, have you?

Okay, so Hillary’s singular qualification, it seems, is that she is female? And that’s enough to place this individual in the Executive?

If being a female is the singular qualification, why not support Condi Rice, a woman with far more actual experience than Hillary has?

Most of Hillary’s experience is as the spouse of the President. Does the wife of a firefighter claim to have experience putting out fires? Does the husband of a doctor claim to be qualified to treat the sick? Think about it. Would you hire me for your company if most of my resume was about my spouse’s jobs? You would laugh at me.

My wife talks to me about her work, and I know a lot about it, and I often give her my opinion and advice, but I am not qualified to do her job.

Hillary’s real experience is a few months as an attorney and seven years as a senator. That’s pretty good, but actually less than Obama.

Ah, yes, she did serve on the board of WalMart, so she should make sure to highlight that in her conversations with Edwards.

Plus, the one thing she was entrusted with in the white house–health care reform–was a miserable failure, and she deserves at least part of the blame for that.

I have no problem with a woman being president. I just have a problem with HRC being it. She speaks as if her experience was being the president. NOT!!! As the saying goes (Birds of a feather). Bill lied to the nation and so has she. Her only motive as well as Bills is to be the first woman president and his is to be the first husband and wife presidents. Period… She can’t take care of her own husbands needs, how can she take care of a nations needs? This everyone is forced to have insurance and if you don’t you have your wages garnished and fines. The insurance she says you have to carry. I thought this was America Freedom of choice. It’s seems this freedom our fathers, sons, daughters, mothers, brothers, uncles, aunts and all our relatives have fought for and lost their lives is going down the tubes to become a dictatorship. I also don’t mind immigrants in this country except when they are illegal. If you and every American and or I or even 12 million American citizens didn’t file or pay taxed would our government wheel and deal? NO, we broke the law and we would have hour homes, bank accounts, assets and every thing of value sized and our wages garnished. So, what is the difference, the illegal immigrants have broken federal laws. My wife is a foreigner and I had to give Homeland Security (certified) employment and amount of wages, value of all my assets home, vehicles and items in my home, bank accounts, life insurance policies, and all liabilities. I had to prove but giving airplane tickets receipts, purchases made in her country and hotel receipts that I stayed there. My wife had to take a physical and bring it to the she had no diseases and was in good health. And the cost of all of this is thousands of dollars. But not the illegal immigrants. Hillary as president? I’ll move to another country and retire there. This country will be worst than it is now.

People that believe Edwards will back Clinton - do not understand Edwards’ campaign. The Clintons are viewed as being “buddy-buddy” with big business.
