I was a very disappointed Romney supporter who had to figure out where to send my vote upon his withdrawal. Since I was intimately familiar with the politics of McCain and Huckabee, I thought I owed it to myself to check out Ron Paul SERIOUSLY and not just use him as a protest vote.

Now I wonder why I wasn't supporting him from the beginning. Oh yeah.... I thought he had no chance... But he WOULD have had a chance if EVERYONE would not just dismiss him as a kook.

The only thing kooky about Ron paul is that he is not your typical slime-ball politician. Why are we so comfortable with corruption and willing to accept it if comes from someone we like...?

Huh, McCain supporters?
Huh, Huckabee supporters?
Huh Romney supporters?

Ron Paul cannot make it this time, but America needs to listen to this man. Why not start here:

And don't be offended if your favorite guy looks dumb. We are supposed to want what is best for the COUNTRY, not our egos.

The Republican who stopped the counting with more than 1500 votes to count with a difference of about 200 votes calling it for McCain is a BAFOON and a disgrace to the party. Anyone remember Rossi V Gregoire? Why are Washington Republicans sabotaging themselves against something as basic as the democratic election process? This lack of integrity makes me want to smack the crap out of these allegedly honest voting officials. Why not let every vote be counted? (correctly and honestly) Isn't that what literally HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of our soldiers and sailors have died defending? While I concede that Mr. Huckabee has a very slim chance of winning the nomination, but nonetheless, why not let it play out fairly?

Again, you CANNOT vote for someone who advances their political agenda on the basis of religion while stepping on other religions or beliefs in the process. Huckabee has done just that to get gain and power. On this merit alone, he disqualifies himself as a Presidential candidate. The insidious nature of his politics laced with his disturbing religious twist cannot be accepted. In the mind of Huckabee, the separation of Church and State is null and void. On this point alone, he must be summarily rejected!

How can you vote for someone who has over 1000 pardons of convicted criminals (12 of those being ers) on his resume? How can you vote for someone who wants to shut down Gitmo and bring those detainees into this country to have rights under our Constitution? Are you kidding me? This man is NOT a true conservative. At least with McCain, people know what they're getting. With Huckabee, it's anyone's guess. The uncertainty poses a risk we just can't accept. Vote NO for Mike Huckabee!

Shelby,
Huckabee knows what he stands for. McCain may be a war hero and he has my respect for that but that is where it ends. Do we want a president who changes parties or threatens to every time something doesn't go his way?He stands for whatever the crowd does at the time of his speech. GET A CLUE AMERICA... this country needs GOD more than ever and we need a man who will lead us...

Huckabee's supporters range far beyond the religious right and evangelical base he's credited with; we support him because he's the only candidate with a tough stand on illegal immigration (how has that issue been sidelined?!), because we support the FairTax (please visit www.fairtax.org), because he's a magnificent orator, with Reagan-like communications skills...for myriad reasons. We believe that a brokered convention is possible. We believe that the Republican Party needs a candidate who can inspire a renewed enthusiasm, with a constituency that will actively work to put our guy in the White House in the upcoming election. It's going to take that kind of dedication and drive to beat the Democratic ticket, and folks, that guy is not John McCain!

It is interesting to point out, as Governor Huckabee did on NPR today, that the states in which he's won are states that are going to be vital in the general election for the GOP. Many of McCain's delegates come from traditionally Democratic states, where we don't stand a chance in November.

I urge all Republican and Independent voters to take a good look at Governor Huckabee, rather than believe what is portrayed in the media. He is far better qualified through executive experience than any remaining candidate, bar none.
