Bill Clinton: Hillary Electable Among Republicans
As he campaigns around the country promoting his wife’s social and economic policies, Bill Clinton never fails to add another dimension to his wife’s drawing power: she is electable among Republicans. In recent days, the former President has touted her ability to work effectively with GOP leaders to pass bipartisan legislation—a capacity that contradicts voters’ perception of Hillary as a polarizing figure. To illustrate his point, Clinton has continually made reference to John McCain whom Hillary worked with to pass bipartisan legislation to combat global warming.
Clinton has also talked up his wife’s electability among even the most “crusty Republicans”—particularly in New York state, where she won 60 percent of the vote in 40 of the state’s Republican counties during her senate reelection campaign in 2006. Clinton described the vast land mass of New York as mostly “rural, agricultural, and Republican.” In drawing attention to his wife’s legislative achievements and popularity among New York’s Republicans, Clinton’s strategy appears to be aimed at projecting her as a unifying leader who will reach out to all people regardless of their party affiliation.

Hillary supporter, Alonzo Cantu from Mcallen-Texas, has been bundling “supposed” donations of hundreds of Hidalgo County residents, to the tune of $Millions$ of dollars. This in a county where the median household income is well under $30,000.
Cantu is now asking Hidalgo County elected officials and even County & State courthouse Judges to have their names placed as donors for Hillary at a private fund-raiser in Cantu’s house on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. The FBI in conjunction with the FEC are investigating Alonzo Cantu for money laundry into a presidential race and all while using the names of elected officials who clearly cannot afford such donations.
One must wonder how many of these instances of unexplainable masses of high-dollar contributions “bundled” from poor and lower middle class populations will actually reach Hillary Clinton before serious arrests are undertaken by the Feds.
“Mr. Cantu, I hope it was worth the ride. Your life is about to be turned upside down. Sleep tight while you still can; for now!”
Thank God for laws in this country.
Why do people make race an issue of this election? People should vote for the best candidate who is qualified to be in the most difficult job of the country. When we go to the ER, do we ask for an African American doctor, or a female doctor or a conservative doctor, or do we ask and pray for the best doctor? Do people who vote know who was the person responsible for getting women to have the right to vote? Why do we have driver license exam but we don’t have such a similar test for people who go vote? The citizenship test administered as part of becoming a naturalized citizen is a good test to qualify to vote.
You have got to be kidding! the reason Obama is doing so well is that he actually could attract republicans. I cannot believe some of the nonsense coming out of the clinton camp
Oh yes, all the Republicans I know love Hillary Clinton.

Heidi,
I can’t believe the nonsense coming out of the Obama camp (aka his android supporters and the MSM). They’re all fawning over him like he’s the second coming of Christ. Believe me, there is nothing more reprehensible than a politician who says he’s not like other politicians. Obama says ge wants a different “kind of politics” — Barack, it’s called the “politics of bulls**t” and you’re suffering from the “Audacity of Hype”.
If Obama is the nominee, I will vote for a Republican for the first time in my life and California will squarely land in the Republicans. After a disastrous eight years, we cannot afford the risk of someone so inexperienced that he’ll agree to meet with the leaders of Iran, Northa Korea, and Venezuela but he can’t meet his opponent in more debates. (He’s more scared of a stuttering attack than a nuclear attack.)
It’s perhaps a good thing she is electable amoung Republicans as it appears she is NOT electable amoung Democrats……..perhaps she should try that ticket come November? I mean she does appear to be scrambling lately for any toe hold…along with the help of the fox network. Regardless of your falling days behind the real delegate count, it dosen’t change it
I don’t believe he is afraid of any debate and for anyone to make that ignorant argument gives weight to the poll evidence that the uneducated vote for Clinton. WHY should he give her Free airtime
EVERYONE knows she was running out of money and looking for a way to keep her face in the limelight. Heck in my opinion she used the situatioin with Chelsea to do the same thing which just gave weight to the term “pimping her out”
Osama Obama bin Laden really, in reality?? The Affirmative Action Vote?
Hiiary is not electable, you can’t win against a movement. The repubs want her to win, they can’t beat a movement either. If hillary not getting the nomination makes you vote republican, you’re already a sellout and you’re not voting on the issues. They both are pretty much the same on the issues, duh! Except she wants to make you get insurance or else!!!!Barack will not have repubs lining up to vote against him like hillary will. Join the Movement, Our time has come. Barack is not a “regular politiican”, He can’t write his campaign a $5,000,000 check. He is like “regular people” he has to work to get ahead like the rest of us, poor people who vote for clinton should consider this, Can Billary restore dignity, honor and respct to Penn. Ave.? Please go by their record!!! I once was a clinton supporter until he disrespected the whitehouse and made our country a laughing stock. (it doesnt matter how we found out). I would have really respected Hillary if she had left him. It takes a strong womwn to stay with a cheater, but a SUPERWOMAN to walk away. What happened to her “empowerment” or is that just a campaign catch phrase to get your vote!!!
Jeff, grow up!!!!!
Jerzee gal,
My choice to vote for McCain over Obama is one of principle. The election of the President of the United States is serious — it’s not the election for president of the student body. I don’t want to hear about banalities such as change, belief, and hope.
Obama is as regular as they come — can he explain why he was able to buy his million dollar home $300K below market value? I’ve never been able to “hope” for that kind of discount!
I’m going for the most qualified and experience….If it not Hillary I will be switching over to Rep with McCain….. I also not sold on OBAMA speeches that use CHANGE and Hope like a Hundred time without talking about issue…… I remember the last person that talked about Change and Hope and we knew he wasn’t qualified or experience over Gore…… They for a guy everybody thought was cool because he wore a cowboy hat George Bush….. Not looking for another Cool or a sweet talker I want somebody know how DC work and who the most experience and qualifed…..Hillary or McCain is my choice….. The way it look now, guess McCain get my vote in NOV
BILL’S LOST IT, IF THE REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR HER, THEN THIS REPUBLICAN WILL VOTE FOR OBAMA, I WOULD DIE AND GO TO HELL BEFORE I WOULD VOTE FOR HER. SHAWN HANNITY SHOULD VOTE FOR HER, SINCE HIS PLOT TO GET GULLANI IN, ALONG WITH O REILLY, AND O

I’m a 50+ female who has finally taken an interest in American politics - and I am amazed how the media has already crowned Obama! Has anyone ever asked themselves why? It really scares me that he has such a “following”… In my heart of hearts, something just doesn’t feel right about him… and as I’ve always believed, the truth will come out…
I agree we all had to start somewhere with our professions, but I don’t believe President of the United States should be someone who needs on-the-job training for such awesome responsibilities!! and I don’t believe Obama is as honest as the media makes him out to be.
Has anyone really looked at the photos of him with Ted Kennedy “snearing” at Senator Clinton, the obvious “snubs” he has given her, and in so many photos the way he holds his “chin up” as to appear better than thou - but truly appears very “arrogant”! Sure isn’t a very Christian fella in my book! I believe these photos show his true self - just wish the American people would wake up!!
Needless to say, the media have taken their stance and it is disheartening to say they least that they are trying to sway voters to Obama. I will not watch MSNBC or CNN anymore, and FOX is treading on thin ice as well… how sad…
As mentioned by someone in an earlier post, I, too, will be casting my vote for John McCain should Obama become the Democrat nominee… There is no way on God’s green earth that I could justify voting for Obama…
Clinton, bill (note the small case letter b) is such a liar, and that perception is passed on to his wife by association, not to mention her arrogance and faulty integrity. I’m a republican and would never vote for hillary. She is not a crossover candidate. bill is such a liar and his presidency was a farse. He sold large portions of America to China and other world interests. The only thing I admire him for is telling that heckler that 9/11 was not an inside job. The rest of him is nothing but spackle on an intestinal wall.
A few people love Hillary, the rest of the country hates her. She does not stand a chance. Let Barack give it his best shot.
They both need to stay away from john edwards, he is heavily invested in the lawsuit industry, which has been pivotal in destroying American jobs and industry. He’s not for the common man but for get rich schemes that involve dismantling and destruction of our country’s economic fiber.
Could you imagine what he would do as Attorney General? Like giving him and other lawyers a license to steal.
give me a break les…..Barack would never be stupid enough to select John Edwards as A.G.
For all the purported intelligence that Bill Clinton is given the doubtful benefit of, it is amazing to me that he would pull out the “Hillary can be elected by Republicans” card. His narcissism blinds him.
I would here suggest that Mr. Clinton, whose foibles could easily be compared to Paris’ who caused the Trojan war by his cuckolding, find some time in his busy bimbo schedule to re-read Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, and grasp the full meaning of “Trojan Horse”.
It was hubris alone upon the Trojans’ part who truly believed that they had defeated, not by strength of arms but by guile and feints and slights of hand, the armies of Agamemnon. Their self deception accepted the “gift” of Odysseus’ horse through the gates, and Troy was felled by their own arrogance.
I direct these comments directly to Mr. Clinton: Sir, if you believe your own propaganda about Republicans electing your wife, then you, sir, are a bigger fool than Paris was.
Bill Clinton is a funny guy. Republicans voting for Hillary? This comment proves that Bill does inhale!
Yeah, Obama never inhaled that wacky weed either while he was dealing drugs!!!
Southern Girl,
Diffrence is Bill has never admitted to inhaling, while Obama brags about it.
Like is said before Bill saying Republicans will vote for Hillary proves that he inhales!
Looks like more of the same for liberals!
I can not believe I am even considering McCain as my second option to vote for. I don’t agree with McCain on some of his policies however, if Obama gets the nomination this democrat may jump the fence. I prefer the experience and knowlege people posess over an Inspirational Puppy that is under some illusion that good speeches will get things done. Get out of the way Obama. Leave this to the experienced people and look us up in 4 to 8 years.
Nancy,
I’ve got your 50+ beat by 16 years, and I think mine are years of wisdom because I’m choosing Obama. If anyone thinks he is running only on hope, they should have listened to his answers to questions at the TC Williams High School last night which ran on C-Span. He addressed everything from “Why should I vote for you” to “what should the US relations with Latin America be?” with details and knowledge about trade policies, investments, education, health care, etc.
If the media were favoring him they would have questioned the “experience” myth a long time ago, and pointed out that it is not experience but competence that is the issue.
This is from David Stirling on another forum:
“In Illinois, Barack Obama authored and passed the most significant ethics reform in a generation. He expanded health care access. He reformed the criminal justice system to reduce convictions of innocent people — a politically hazardous proposition which involved his winning over legislators, police, and a governor who were all originally unwilling to touch the topic.
In the US Senate, he’s improved our program to deal with what Kerry and Bush both said was the greatest security threat to America — loose nuclear weapons — and to lock down old Soviet conventional arms as well. He’s worked on creating a plan for dealing with an avian flu epidemic. He helped write major ethics reform, and wrote and passed the “Google for government” bill that creates transparency and accountability in government spending. His record is deep and suggests someone who’s both able to work across party lines, and is interested in taking on big issues, even if they aren’t well-known or easy.
In his younger days, he was a community organizer, improving housing, helping create access to work for the poor, and registering thousands of new voters.
In law school, he was elected president of the Harvard Law Review, arguably the most prestigious position a law student can hold. Heck, he’s even a best-selling author.
Point is, Barack Obama has been successful in everything he’s tried. Contrast that with Hillary Clinton, who has no major legislation to her name in her eight years in the Senate; whose major responsibilities in the Clinton administration ended in a string of disastrous legal appointments and in the utter failure to enact universal health care; and who voted the wrong way on the most important vote of her Senate career.”
Take an interest in politics. But get it right. Clinton is playing the victim. Don’t fall for it.
Good factual reading here:

Hey you white folks— Obama hates white people–you better do your research–and you call us black folks stupid… ha ha ha
I thought Bill C was beginning to look senile, now I know it. What planet has he been living on for the last 8 years? Sure, all Republicans I know are just wild about Hillary.
I see more dumb white people… what a great country!!
No way Bill– Us black Americans will be running this country real soon and its about time!!
VOTE BLACK–VOTE OBAMA
What”s Bill been smoking now.? What asinine remarks. There’s no way in hell the repb I know would vote for that corrupt bunch.
First there was Chris Mathews statement and then David Schusters statement… all from MSNBC.
Mathews - “Hillary is running for President because her husband had an affair.”
Schuster - “Chelsea’s being Pimp-out…”
The next words we’re going to hearing are… biatches, Ho’s, Krackers and last but not least the “N” word.
Listen Up Idiots! … the Democratic Party is being framed everytime bigotry is used. The RNC is going to make hay of all your divisive mean spirited comments.
Peace!
There are many things that Obama and Clinton have in common, and a few where they differ (in my opinion, mostly in the categories of diplomacy, rhetorical skill, and personal appeal). However, if we must stretch so far for differences that we paint Senator Clinton as an emotional (read manipulative) campaigner, let’s just have a look at her voting record and look at Senator Obama’s as well:
“Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term (6yrs.), and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law, (20) twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.
These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress (www.thomas.loc.gov), but to save you trouble, I’ll post them here for you.
1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Hon
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O’Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men’s Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men’s Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty.
Only five of Clinton’s bills are more substantive:
16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.
There you have it–the facts straight from the Senate Record.
Now, I would post those of Obama’s, but the list is too substantive, so I’ll mainly categorize.
During the first (8) eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced:
233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.
His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These inculded:
**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law),
**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law),
**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law),
**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee), and many more.”
According to the demographics, I should be voting for Hillary Clinton: I’m a white, 60-year-old, highly educated woman from the Northeast. But I’m voting for Obama. I’ve waited all my life for a viable woman candidate for the presidency, but this is not the right woman. I want a woman of the highest ability and virtue, who would serve as a glorious role model to all young women. Hillary Clinton is not that woman.
She rode into power with her husband, and together they’ve acquired a long and seriously flawed history of self-serving and secretive financial and political dealings. The most cursory research will prove that true. She started out her political life supporting the racist Barry Goldwater. She is as comfortable with deception and trickery as George Bush. When I hear woman saying, “Oh, but that’s how you get things done in Washington,” I literally cringe.
I am passionately supporting Barack Obama. He can beat the Republicans; she cannot. Obama has attracted Independents and even Republicans to his camp, and in a general election they would vote for him, but not for Clinton. Clinton voted for the war, and has never apologized for it. Obama has spoken out against it from the beginning. Obama brings us hope–and not just that. Take a serious look at his ideas and experience.
Please, I beg of you, Sisters young and old: wait for the right woman. Then we can be proud.
Diane Wald
Solis Doyle, is dispensable, she has served her purpose to help us win the latino vote in the big states. We no longer need her or the latino vote to capture the white house. The women and black vote will now carry the Hillary campaign the rest of the way. Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton replaced campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle with longtime aide Maggie Williams on Sunday. Ms. Clinton believes Maggie Williams is a better choice to target the women vote. Clinton said in a statement. “I am lucky to have Maggie on board and I know she will lead our campaign with great skill towards the nomination.” This is a race to the white house, not a popularity contest. If the latino community feelings are hurt because Ms. Doyle services is no longer needed, I will address those issues after I am president.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHAHAHHAHAHHA HAHAHAH AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH HAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAA HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA AAHAHAAHHAHABHAHAHHHH STOP IT HA AHA PLEASE HA HA AAH HAA VOTE FOR HILLARY HA AHHAHHAH AHAH A HA AHAH AH A HA AH AHA HA A AHAH YEAH … HEY.. WHY NOT CASTRO? HA HA HA HA SO A VOTE FOR HILLARY IS A VOTE FOR CASTRO HA HA HA I LIKE IT HA HA GOOOOO GOOOO GO GO BARACK
The Clinton campaign didn’t have a healthcare plan befor it felled and they don’t have one now. Well to be honest, if everyone is a goverment employee, then the Clinton healthcare plan will work for everyone. Unfortunately some are self employed, independent contractors or work for private employors or small business. Under the Clinton healthcare plan these people would be penalized if they don’t pay for their healthcare. This means that most of your family members and friends will have their paychecks garnished. We all know that it doesn’t stop their if it is a goverment enforcement. There will be fines and then misdemeanors which is a criminal offense defined as less serious than a felony. Why did Ms. Clinton decide on this approach? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this out. Big business, big Corporation call it what you will, they want their money back and in order for Ms. Clinton to get their support in her race to presidency she is giving victory to one side (the healthcare providers) by promising to them that she will have the poeople wages garnished if they continue to give healthcare. Thus allowing her to shout the words “UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE” This is a shady tactic and makes fools out of every american that falls for trick. The Obama healthcare plan is for the people. Poor people, middle class and rich people can rest assured that there is no tricks or penalties in the Obama healthcare plan. VOTE OBAMA!!
Do ANY of you actually have a single clue as to the actual policies and records of any of the candidates?
It’s national security, stupid!
Andrew Jackson (first Democrat in the White House) would, if alive today, stand ALL current Democrats up against a wall…………………………
Republicans supporting Hillary??!!…ROFLMAO…No you morons, the Republicans are crossing over in the primaries to keep Hillary in the running to DESTROY the Democrats.
GO HILLARY!!..all the way to the convention!!…Ahhh Chicago 1968 all over again!!
(Denver’s new name after this convention will be LOOTERVILLE!)
