Hillary Rips McCain w/VA Dems as Obama Rolls

I’m sitting with a silent group of young Obama supporters through Hillary Clinton’s remarks at the Virginia Jefferson-Jackson Dinner — delivered as results in Nebraska, Washington, and Louisiana are bringing bad news to the Clinton campaign.  The only applause from the college students in front of me came when she pointed out that Virginia had elected a black governor, and when she said the country could have a black president in less than a year.

Hillary didn’t address her losses tonight, but she did speak to critics who think her too conservative to represent them as the Democratic nominee. “People say they can’t tell the difference between me and George Bush,” she said; one contrarian table applauded wildly.  “Well, I don’t think anyone here believes the Republicans are confusing me and George Bush. Certainly, having fought George Bush every day for the last 7 years, I will be among those most happy to finally see the moving van leaving the White House.”

And she got in a good line about Bush’s support of McCain, saying “with Senator McCain as the likely Republican nominee, Republicans have chosen more of the same. President Bush has already put his stamp of approval on Sen McCain’s conservative credentials, and I’m sure that will help.”

It’s always hard to gauge how strong well a candidate is received in a large hall, since applause tends to dissipate … but even the Obama supporters in front of me gave Clinton a standing ovation, albeit a reluctant one, at the end of her speech — and they only shouted out Obama’s name once.

Maybe I am counting wrong but whats wrong with CNN: From your site.

Popular Votes: February 9th

Clinton - 8,938,660 Delegates - 840 Super delegates - 223 = 1063

Obama - 8,409,728 Delegates - 831 Super delegates - 131 = 962

Obama would need an additional 528,416 votes to get the popular vote.
Obama would need an additional 9 delegates
Obama would need an additional 101 superdelegates.

This does not include: Washington, Nebraska, Louisiana, and upcoming
Keep adding to this tally folks you will see that Obama is not the popular person with majority of voters.

CNN reporters are so biased…………….

The OBAMA CULT movement continues.

Err Vicki - because not all of the States can be represented in the popular vote because they held primaries instead - your ‘popular’ figures mean squat. Don’t be forgetting either, that Hillary got over 100 of her super-delegates last year - they can change their minds.

Now - as to Saturdays results for Obama, the beginning of a roll that is going to keep getting bigger, I have only this very important message to share:

Chicka-bow-wow-chicka-bow-wow-chicka-bow-wow, ooooooo yeah baby!

According to the demographics, I should be voting for Hillary Clinton: I’m a white, 60-year-old, highly educated woman from the Northeast. But I’m voting for Obama. I’ve waited all my life for a viable woman candidate for the presidency, but this is not the right woman. I want a woman of the highest ability and virtue, who would serve as a glorious role model to all young women. Hillary Clinton is not that woman.
She rode into power with her husband, and together they’ve acquired a long and seriously flawed history of self-serving and secretive financial and political dealings. The most cursory research will prove that true. She started out her political life supporting the racist Barry Goldwater. She is as comfortable with deception and trickery as George Bush. When I hear woman saying, “Oh, but that’s how you get things done in Washington,” I literally cringe.
I am passionately supporting Barack Obama. He can beat the Republicans; she cannot. Obama has attracted Independents and even Republicans to his camp, and in a general election they would vote for him, but not for Clinton. Clinton voted for the war, and has never apologized for it. Obama has spoken out against it from the beginning. Obama brings us hope–and not just that. Take a serious look at his ideas and experience.
Please, I beg of you, Sisters young and old: wait for the right woman. Then we can be proud.

The Republican party is heading for dissaster. You did not see Democrats change their core values as ludicrious as they are after they got their butts handed to them in 04′. Why did we? Until we get back to our core values of securing our borders, language, and culture is when we will gain control of both houses of congress and the presidency. As much as the establishment has moved left, it may never happen again. I feel there should be no parties and should elect a man or women based on their record and plans for future policy. I guarantee you our economy would be up and our congress would actually get the necessary things done. If there has to be a party system, then there has to be a third party called the ” American” party.

It’s funny when he starts winning, Hillary supporters / right-wing nuts come out with some weak arguments. Cult, muslim roots, etc. I imagine it’s because you can’t argue the valid points. It’s no wonder Obama attracts those with the highest levels of education.

Diane, when Obama’s VP selection is Kathleen Sebelius, you’ll have the right women for the White House - integrity, class, wins in red states.

Yes we can!

Comment by PatricktheRogue

As an independent who has voted for a Republican every time, I have to say that the Victory speech by Sen. Obama was beyond masterful. That guy is not the best since Reagn, he is better than Reagan, and better than Kennedy too by the way. I was simply blown away. Noone can touch the guy on a stage with a mic. I think he is the best speaker in American politics since FDR, period. All I can do when Sen. Clinton speaks is look at my watch and yawn.
Obama does not just have a gift of words - he is a black belt master. I can only imagine the Obama show going on the road as President and wooing the crowds across the world JFK style.
I will vote for this man because I believe in his judgment and I am more than impressed with his mastery of language. The most important thing a President does is implement foreign policy - he represents us to the world. Whatever the President wants to do domestically gets pulled apart and distilled by the congress and even the courts on occasion. In foreign policy the President’s will is generally executed undistilled. Barack Obama is proving his unrivaled power to represent the best of this country to the world.

Hillary should have acknowledged Obama’s win, her defeat and thanked her voters and supporter in Washington, Nebraska, and Louisiana. I think this kind of attitude and spirit is reflected in a negative way in the nature of her campaign and future voters and supporters are taking note of it. If her supporters and voters don’t win primaries or caucuses, they become invisable to her, com’on Hillary you can do better than that, I hope this is not a preview of how she intends to govern.

Comment by Huckleberry Wins

I see several things that have happened. The mainstream media pushed the Republican GOP (McCain) down our throats. Now the mainstream media are laughing at the republicans for choosing such a week candidate. McCain cannot pull the majority conservative base. McCain will not win against the Democrats including if he runs against Hillary. John McCain’s will ruin our hopes for a 2008 Republican President. The worst thing is everyone knows it.

Sadly, if Obama is the Dem’s candidate, that will create a lot of McCain Dems…not because we’re racists but because Obama cut line. Besides what’s all this, “Yes we can,” and, “Hope?” That’s not a platform, that’s demagoguery.

Many of us here in Maryland are very close to the beltway and believe Obama does not have the federal experience to carry off the presidence platform.

So many are swept away with Obama trying to be a Kennedy wannabe. I am voting for Hillary!

I caught that corruption phrase too. About fell off my chair. And “she wants the white house BACK” I bet she does want it. She never admits to a mistake or the corruption she was/is involved in. She is probably saying that because she knows there are a lot of young people out there who were just babies when bill first got in and don’t know what all they did. And she keeps bashing Bush and the administration. What is that about.? They arent’ running again.
By the way, Obama got the white male educated vote and Hillary got the un-educated poorer white female vote. I’m a old white female and she won’t get me. I remember too much about her. Campaign rhetoric dosen’t sway me.
Money raised doesn’t either. If it was Romney they’d say it was trying to buy votes. Of course they need it for “street” money. there is enough cheating at elections. Dead people vote, illegals, multiple people voting several places, “lost” bags of ballots, and on and on.
I think in this day and age we don’t need to have caucuses and delegates. Just have primaries, winner take all and the general. Can skip the elec. college too.

Yes, Obamas speech was great. But just because he has a good speech writer doesn’t mean he is great. I saw both speeches. Gagged on Hillarys and I am a old white woman.
I’m beginning to think we are voting against some one instead of for. Open primary states can vote either party then vote to who ever they want at the general.
We need a good Commader in Chief to protect this country. The congress does the other stuff. I’m not too keen on the idea of some trying to talk our sworn enemies out of trying to kill us.
Look what 9/11 did to our economy. And about oil. Think about every thing you wouldn’t have that is made by oil by products, in your house (roofs, carpets, and even your p.c.) and cars, clothing etc. Yes, we need it NOW but the tree huggers won’t let us drill for more of our own. Thats the looney left. So, our dollars go overseas and to our enemies. I wish people would think things out instead of just listening to sound bites.

First off, I am not a member of any political party. I am not representing any person, company or endorsing any candidate. I have no other agenda than to help unite those do not wish to see another Clinton elected President. There is over 40% of the legal voting population in United States oppose the Clintons for numerous reasons, the highest of any candidate.

We should not forget or forgive those actions and attitudes. How long can one blame some right wing conspircy for their poor judgement and never take personal responsibilty for their actions. They were never illegal but always seems to be immoral or bad ethics. Like writing a “non-fictional” book while during her first term or shady investment deals and spy-gate.

She claims of over 30 years of experience…but is it experience that matters or is relevent? She was elected the first term was mere sympathy vote and was not even a real New Yorker. If I remember…Being First Lady either in AK or the White House are NOT an elected position. My grandfather was a farmer for over 30 years perhaps he could have ran for president as well! Don’t forget what she promised the New Yorkers before her second term that she was not running for president and would serve all 6 years….sound familar?

We seem to have a short memory when it comes to the Clintons. If GW Bush wasn’t such a poor president, there would never be this interest in the Clintons again. They are not leaders but only govern only after its a popular majority first. Remember the last days of Slick Willy’s term, they released many criminals and very close friends with those pardons for political contributions and favors? She was very much part of that process. My son was in the Navy right after 8 years of the Clintons, everything was in disrepair because of all the budget cuts and no real knowledge or respect for the military. He avoid serving in the military himself with very poor ethics. Do you think she will be any better???

Ask yourself this….Just what is her stand on the real issues? Are there any real plans than just talk? This sounds like more of the same and not for change. She stays neutral on many issues but promises change but the only platform she has is her own personal one… don’t forget what Bill’s role will be…She’s talked about him being an Ambassador or recent nominating him as a Supreme Court judge…They would present a real problem with power and conflict of interest.

Don’t let apathy allow the Clintons back into the White House.. VOTE!

kEITH FROM WISCONSIN–As someone born and raised in Wisconsin it is an embarrassment to see you supporting a Muslim. The true FACT is that Obama was not even raised in America and he has no intentions of letting the white man or woman progress in this country. You better go do some research on the REAL OBAMA before you try convincing others that he is our guy. You have no idea what you are talking about!!!!!!!!!
