Huckabee to Romney: If He thinks this is Tough, He ain’t seen Nothing
Texarkana, AR-
Back on his home turf of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee counter-punched Mitt Romney on his ” no whining” comment after Huckabee accused him of “voter suppression”. The contentious squabble initiated after Romney, while on FNC’s Hannity and Colmes equated a Huckabee vote, essentially, to a wasted vote for McCain.
” I’m hoping he’ll live up to that because he’s the one that everytime, he’s spends millions of bucks on John McCain, or me then we push back then he just jumps up and down and screams and hollars and says ‘oh its a personal attack, its a personal attack.’ This is running for the presidency, this ain’t bean bag. So if he’s gonna throw a few at our head, he needs to know that when he comes to the plate he’s gonna see some 98mph fastballs coming back.that’s the way it works, ” Huckabee continued.” If he thinks this is tough he ain’t seen nothing until he faces hillary or obama in the general election so that why I don’t think he’s not the best guy to put in the starting line up for the big game.”‘
Both Huckabee and Romney are vying to be the conservative alternative to frontrunner John McCain today, as some enclaves in the GOP feel uncomfortable with McCain’s conservative credentials.

Sour grapes Mike!
Please!!! Huckabee couldn’t punch himself out of a wet paper bag! I think the over-sensitive one is Mike Huckabee. Every thing that comes out of Mike Huckabee’s mouth just shows how much class he lacks.
The only reason Mike Huckabee is still in this race is that he is a bigot and wants to be an obstical for Romney. He knows there is no chance for him to win today. He is not a conservative. He is no man of God. He uses the very God for his own purposes. I’ve got news for you Mike, God uses you for his purposes and not visa versa!!!!
Romney ‘08!!1
…he just jumps up and down and screams and hollars…
That’s what Mike Huckabee does. I haven’t heard or seen Mitt Romney come close to that.
I agree with Romney…Huckabee quit WHINNING!!
I used to like Mike, but he has shown his true colors since Iowa. Poor puppet Huckabee.
Geeee, Can this man not cry all the time. He is the slim ball. I did like the man until he went on the attack of religion and then said he was going to run a clean campaign then said he had a add then decided not to run it but show it to the press…No thank you Huck.. Then I looked at his record and it was enough to push me on the edge. Never liked McCain and his record and how he plays…So yes I voted Today for ROMNEY
Geaux Huckabee
Sorry Mike but you have ruined your reputation and have shown your true colors through all of this. Learn to bow out gracefully. At least if Romney doesn’t come away with the nomination this year he has kept his reputation intact so that he will be in a position to come save the country in four years after we have had liberals messing it up. No one will give Huckabee a second thought again after all of his antics.
Vote Mitt Romney for President!
something worth reading and sharing……
I have tried to stay away from the whole topic of Mitt’s Mormonism, especially lately, because I figured that Mitt’s speech on “Faith in America” covered all that anyone needed to know, and any more talk about Mormonism would be counterproductive.
But I received an e-mail where a gentleman talked about how Mitt was traveling through the area on a Sunday, and stopped at the local LDS Church to partake of the services there. The gentleman is a part of the ward that Mitt attended, and as I read the gentleman’s e-mail on how the visit went and what happened, I could see it all happening in my mind. His e-mail is touching - I hope you take a moment to read it (I have stripped out all identifying data for privacy reasons):
On Sunday, Jan. 6, as I do every Sunday, I attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on XX Street. It was the XX Ward’s Fast and Testimony meeting. On the first weekend of every month, Mormons traditionally abstain from food for 24 hours, then at the conclusion of this fast we attend our meetings. From the money we save from not eating, we’re encouraged to donate generously to the poor among us. This meeting is called a “testimony meeting” because anyone feeling prompted can rise to the podium to speak. It’s certainly a unique and sometimes unpredictable meeting.
As Bishop Spenser was welcoming the congregation, I happened to glance behind me. I was astonished to see Mitt Romney and an aide quietly walk in and sit down. I had just watched him on Fox News Sunday minutes before. After the passing of the sacrament, the bishop opened the microphone to the congregation. During this hour-long meeting, about 12 to 15 adults and children spoke. Romney sat through the rest of the meeting and listened graciously. At the conclusion, he walked to the foyer where many greeted him and wished him well.
I will always remember this Sunday’s meeting for what did and did not happen. What amazed me was that during the meeting no one, including the bishop, mentioned or made reference to our important visitor. And unlike Mike Huckabee, who was preaching a sermon somewhere in New Hampshire on “Becoming an Army for Christ,” Romney chose not to speak but rather chose to simply listen respectfully to the impromptu speakers.
I think this experience is significant for two reasons:
First, it is a good example of how the culture in the Mormon Church clearly respects the separation of religion and politics. Second, I also respect and admire Romney’s choice not to arise and address the congregation. His quiet reverence said a lot more about who he is and what he values. He was just one of us. Lastly, as the bread and water (ie, the Sacrament) was quietly being passed, I couldn’t help but glance over at him a time or two. I saw his head bowed, his eyes closed and his hands resting on his lap.
As we sat solemnly amidst the quiet, I wondered what was going on in the mind of someone seeking the highest office in the land. I thought of all the criticism from the media questioning his integrity, calling him a liar and flip-flopper. I thought of Huckabee’s campaign manager wishing to kick his teeth in. I thought of vicious attacks on his character from everywhere and wondered how he could and why he would endure such disparagement.
When the meeting was over, I couldn’t get near him so I approached his aide, who was standing at the door, and shook his hand. After a few words, he grabbed Romney’s arm from behind and said, “Gotta go.” Standing in the way, I moved aside to let Romney by. As he passed, he turned and extended his hand to me, he looked me square in the eye and smiled as I smiled back. And then I knew. I knew exactly how he got his strength and I knew exactly why he was doing this.
Mitt Romney has been blessed with great, great ability and talent. Our nation has critical problems that all seem to be reaching a tipping point at the same time. Consider the coming insolvency of Social Security, our unmanageable $8 trillion debt, the forthcoming economic tests from China and India, the illegal immigration challenge to our sovereignty, the Islamic extremists who want to harm us, our dependency on foreign oil, and the crisis in education and health care.
Have we ever had more of a need for an honest, competent, compassionate, think-out-of- the-box problem solver? Can you honestly say in your heart that any other candidate, or even any other American, is more qualified to lead us through all these challenges? Even if you disagree with some of his political positions, consider what it would mean to America’s youth and future if someone of his competence, principles and character occupied the Oval Office.
Certainly, one can look back at the last two administrations and see the consequence of what the lack of competence has meant during the last seven years and what damage the lack of character and principles did during the previous eight.
Mitt Romney is not doing this for himself. He’s doing this because we need him to. Our children and grandchildren need him to. He’s our last hope if this country is to survive, then thrive, once again. I know the New Hampshire primary is over. I get a feeling though that you’ll have a chance to vote for him once again.
I think it was telling that Mitt chose to take part in any church meetings at all. Here is someone running for the highest office in the country. He is booked from morning until night with speeches and townhall meetings. I’m sure there is a portion of his staff who wished he wouldn’t “waste” the time attending church because he wouldn’t/couldn’ t campaign while there. And in a tight race like this, you can’t waste an hour doing something “unproductive.” But Mitt’s faith in God is strong enough that he knows that no matter how others may view it, he has to attend church to regain his bearings and revive his spirit for the upcoming week.
He may not wear his religion on his sleeve, but you can be rest assured, here is a man who believes in God.
Go Ron Paul!
On a more sensible note.
Delegate count is
McCain 97
Romney 92
Huckabee 29
There is no possible logistical way that Huckabee can win the nomination. Now I believe in God too. But Huckabee is not Moses and the Republican base is not the Red Sea. It is time that we got behind Romney for the sake of ourselves and for the sake of generations to follow.
McCain is a HUGE amnesty advocate! He even has Juan Hernandez, a former Mexican cabinet member who believes that California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas should be returned to Mexico, advising his campaign.
McCain had voted to give your social security benefits to illegals.
McCain was caught in the bank scandal known as the Keating five. He is dishonest.
McCain worked to deny all of us our first amendment free speech rights with his McCain - Feingold bill.
Gang of 14. He spearheaded the effort to thwart his own party’s attempts to stop the unconstitutional supermajority Democrats were requiring for approval of judges, a despicable practice where the Democrats were far overreaching their authority and denying powers granted to the president by the Constitution. He prevented several good judges from being seated
The list goes on, but you get the idea. Vote Romney.
Listen up, ONLY a vote for MITT ROMNEY in Republican primaries is a vote AGAINST MCCAIN, a loser that is being aggressively imposed on us by the establishment and the “mainstream” media. By casting your vote on ANY OTHER candidate you will be helping MCCAIN to win the Republican nomination.
Joey,
You say, “here is a man (Romney) who believes in God.”
Actually, he believes he will BECOME god, and populate his own planet with the help of multiple wives in the afterlife. You Mormons can lie about your doctrines when marketing your religion, but you DO teach this in your ward meetings. My wife - before becoming a Christian - served a mission for the Mormon church. Like Romney, her dad was a bishop and stake president. She was temple-worthy, etc, etc. All my in-laws (north of Salt Lake City) believe they will (if deemed worthy enough) reach the ultimate level of exaltation - GODHOOD. At least they own up to what their church actually teaches. America will not be fooled by this man-made (Joseph Smith) religion, nor will it be duped by one of its slick adherents - Romney.
Floridian-
You are a disgrace.
Repent.
http://www.evangelicalsformitt.org
Mike Huckabee should have left the race a week ago. I think he is in it to be vindictive. His unjustified dislike of Romney is really so strong that he is staying in it through Super Tuesday just to hurt Romney. Know when to quit Mike!!!
Floridian-the attacking of his religion is worn out. Please do yourself a favor and be a civil loser!
Absolutely Heather. Huck’s in it to hurt Romney because he hates mormons. It’s petty and disgraceful…..
Thanks Joey of Fl….I’ve not seen this, but I absolutely needed to.
As for Huckabee, do we really want a representative of our country who can’t use proper grammar? What an embarassment it would be to have someone with such a short temper, spouting off like that to world leaders who don’t see things his way. I put McCain in the same boat. Although his speech is better, his temper appears to be even more volatile than Huck.
As a woman of faith, I will pray for healing of this country and I sincerely believe this comes through the love of God and men like Mitt Romney.
Interesting- why do they use bread & “water” in their sacrament as the e-mail above states—it is because they do not believe in the blood of Christ which is a central tenet to the teaching of true Christianity. This is the most disturbing trend in the world of christinaity- so few people actually know the new testament these days that they can be decieved by people such as these who make up a cleverly disguised substitute religion that looks like christianity but when you get up close you see how secretive and bizarre this new religion is in comparison with the new testament which they claim the religion is derived from. I dare any open-minded person to go to youtube.com and see a documentary by ex-mormons and people who are still mormons but who are being rejected by Mormons for asking simple hopnest questions about their own religion. youtube.com “DNA vs. the book of Mormon” or “the Bible vs. The Book of Mormon”. Please e-mail me at timoteotk@hotmail to tell me what you honestly think.
Romney to Huck: Drop Out Please

Romney to Huck: Drop Out Please … And Huck to Romney, no blasted way:
Asked why he was more critical of Romney than McCain, Huckabee said he “appreciated” how McCain recognizes him as a “worthy competitor and not as a nuisance.”
“John McCain has not suggested that somehow he has a right to the nomination and I should quit because I’m in his way.”
Huckabee said, by contrast, Romney is making the “suggestion that I ought to step aside and allow him to waltz to the nomination.”
“Frankly I’ve been a little offended.”
That doesn’t exactly make logical sense unless Huckabee is not in to win. Because if he was serious, he needs to be critical of the guy who is winning in the polls in your beloved Southern states of Alabama, Georgia, and Missouri. Instead Huckabee is targeting Mitt, which is just going to fuel rumors that…
a) Huckabee has already made a tacit deal with McCain. McCain wins, Huckabee gets an administration post. Maybe even veep.
b) Huckabee is hoping to make a deal with McCain and thinks all his nice words and help will count for something.
c) Huckabee really does not like Mitt.
d) Huckabee just doesn’t understand strategery and thinks you can win by attacking the person in second place when you’re in third.
Of these, I’d have to say a or b is the most likely with a possible c.
“equated a Huckabee vote, essentially, to a wasted vote for McCain”
It doesn’t matter who you support or what your beliefs are.
There is no such thing as a wasted vote.
I voted for Ron Paul.
Joey - write a book already.
Romney will win Utah, that’s for sure. But if he is a conservative then I am the pope.
K. Wilkinson - get your numbers straight. Romney has only 77 delegates right now and Huckabee has 40.
There goes poor Mike again. Boo hoo, Mitt Romney has more money than me.
You ROCK Mike!
Wow, I love how the media says he has NO shot at winning. They will be rethinking that today…just like the Giants winning the Super Bowl–impossible…
God bless you MIKE!
Do you really want a president who would sell our National Defense to China…
China is an emerging global superpower and military peer, and thus a very real potential threat to United States vital National interests. Bain Capital is Romney’s old flag ship company that he touts as evidence of his managerial and executive ability. Bain is the major facilitator of the China - 3 M deal. As Congressman Hunter, Ranking House Armed Services Committee Member has repeatedly emphasized, the majority of venture capital firms like Bain will not even talk with a company until they answer the question “when are you moving your production to China”.
Governor Huckabee received Congressman Hunter’s endorsement because he recognizes that a sound economic foundation sustaining a prosperous and growing middle class is imperative for America’s National Security.
America definitely won’t make it with business practices like those of the Bain Capital Corporation. Governor Romney has failed to intervene with Bain to drop its strategic partnership with Chinese defense contractor Huawei Technologies, in a bid to buy U.S. defense contractor 3Com. Actions like this endanger American National Security and Duncan Hunter made it clear that anyone who condones these types of business practices is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.
One more thing to all you hate mongers supporting Huckabee and criticizing Romney’s religion. Well thank you, because you are writing Mike Huckabee’s political obituary. I’m sorry to tell you that the country is not as small minded as Mike Huckabee and hate mongers supporting him. Huckabee can be President of Arkansas, or President of Weight Watchers, but he will never be President of the United States.
Sorry guys, but are we electing a preacher or a president? I can’t believe with the economy the way it is and the value of the dollar going down the toilet, the conversation on this message board is “Who’s more down with the G-O-D.”
My party is truly lost.
A vote for Huckabee is a vote for people like floridian and Tim Kelley, a bunch of haters. I dare you..blah…blah….blah. Freedom of religion people! I’m sure I’ll be seeing Tim on the news for blowing up a masque.
Romney is hated tremendously by the career politicians, that’s enough for me, that shows me he will change things.
I used to like Mike Huckabee as well. I voted for Romney!
Ain’t ? Ain’t? Not once but twice in the same paragraph.
Quote “This is running for the presidency, this ain’t bean bag” and “he ain’t seen nothing”
I would expect any candidate running for the President of the United States of America to use proper English. Maybe ain’t is proper and acceptable for Huckabee, but for those who have learned basic English it is unacceptable.
Merriam- Webster Online Dictionary
usage Although widely disapproved as nonstandard and more common in the habitual speech of the less educated.
This tells me all I need to know about Mike Huckabee! He isn’t my idea of Presidential material, for more reason then usage of AIN’T!

Some people are saying that the dispute between Huckabee and Romney is a religious one. They are right. But it is not between fundamental Christianity and Mormonism. It is between a person who was raised to care about and serve his fellow man, versus another man who was raised to take as much money as possible out of another man’s pocket and put it in his own. Huckabee understands that life is tough, and feels that he is his brother’s keeper. Romney thinks it’s all a game about who can end up with the biggest fortune.
Because of these differences, Huckabee deserves to be elected President. Romney deserves to be sent home.
We should ban all religions from civilized world. If ROmney was brainwashed from his birth about mormons faith no matter how strong he tries to hide it , it’s still there. TO me it does not matter . ROmney is a busnessmen and that is what i support. Mc Cain is just another one who was there for 24 years produce pretty much nothing. Let’s Vote for a new dictator and not a new liberal dressed in concervatives cloths.
I was considering Mike Huckabee a couple of months ago. Since then his constant personal attacks toward Romney lead me to believe he is still in the campaign only to be a thorn in the side of Romney. He has no chance to win. His motives for staying in are to help McCain win. I wonder what kind of IOU’s McCain will owe him later.
Who should we bomb today? Any sugestions?
Hey, isn’t MIke Huckabee Satan’s brother? I’m just telling you what I heard.
Are the economy and the value of the dollar more important than honesty and integrity? We DO need a President who knows, loves, and follows God not one whose next campaign is to become one (a god).
I’m from the Show-Me State and Huckabee has shown me his true stripes. He preaches Evangelical Christianity but then fails to live up to it in his bigoted innuendo and slurs of Romney’s faith.
If you want others to respect you and your faith, Mike, you need to reciprocate. If you play the innuendo game with Romney, why should we expect you to be any different toward the rest of us who are not of your persuation. It’s a character issue, Mike.
And then there are the policy issues . . .
Romney for President of the United States of America, not the Divided States of America Huckabee represents. Wasn’t that notion defeated 145 years ago?
Floridian I would ask you not to claim to understand someting that you have not looked deeper that the surface
Romney is the only person who I could ever really support for the presidential possition, something like religion should only be used to see if the man is faithful to what he believe, Romney has proven this and shown himself to be a man of values,
I will support Mitt romney all the way, I am a republican and believe in what america stands for, therefor I will never vote for huckabee, McCain or Clinton. and you should be ashamed of yourself for judging so blatantly.
When your Presidential candidate, Romney, who supposedly graduated summa cum laude (from a Mormon university) says “UNEQUIVOCABLY” twice in a row during a TV debate, I would be pretty slow to criticize Mike Huckabee’s intellect or speech. From what I can see, Huckabee is MUCH brighter than Romney and shows it every day in the quality of his ideas.
Please stop reporting on HuckaBS.
I do not consider myself a master of the English language, but as I read comments from Mr. Huckabee, I often wonder what language he is speaking. Examples from above:
1. “If he thinks this is tough, he ain’t seen nothing” - If he hasn’t seen anything, does that mean he has seen something?
2. Continual use of “gonna” and “ain’t” - Might work in the South, but very embarrassing on the Global stage.
To be fair, my primary issue with Mr. Huckabee is not his grammar, but rather his moderate positions on fiscal and international issues. Further, the way he has rallied the evangelical vote on the basis of anti-Mormon bigotry, has been despicable.
The Romney supporters are all screaming now that Huckabee has given him a dose of his own medicine. Who are the whiners now?
And who will be whining tomorrow when Romney drops out and Huckabee stays in?
To the Floridian - I wonder how your wife could end up with someone as critical of her background as you. And Tim, you are obviously commenting on something you have deep knowledge on - what is the point in all these mormon bashing. You don’t want one to be your president? Fine, who is the better choice? McCain may have been a war hero but so was my uncle back in WWII. Himself and Huckabee share one very common attribute though - the lack of good education to lead America and help the country rise again from the ruins created by George Bush.
Mitt is educated - no not just educated highly educated and graduated among the top 5% of his class. He served god without being paid - more likely, even spending his own money. Why is he being chastised for being a multi-millionaire. America needs a complete over-haul. A face lift to regain its economic and “perceived” moral authority. How can you have moral authority at all with somebody like McCain?
If Mitt doesn’t win the nomination - the democrats will surely win. Because McCain is no better than Bill Clinton. They are both womanizers. Clinton however was a good statesman and businessman. All McCain knows is to carry a gun and walk around with his big old mouth
It does appear that Huckabee is staying in the race primarily to ensure that McCain wins. I am sure that Huckabee knows he can’t win, and that many (perhaps most) voters who vote for him would otherwise tend to gravitate to Romney.
I have heard the theory that Huckabee has a deal with McCain to stay in the race to ensure that McCain wins, after which Huckabee will get the VP spot with McCain. The idea is that Huckabee on the ticket would allow McCain to get the conservative vote, while McCain himself would bring in the moderates and independents.
Whether this theory holds any water or not, I don’t think McCain can win against Hillary. I think the media has been soft on McCain to this point, as if they want him to get the nomination so that he can lose.
Like the nucler option (which i wished you had done) you rightwingers considered over your judges we in the center can only hope you succed in getting Romney as your choice.
I urge you to read history and see what happened after President H.Hoover(r) we won’t see or hear you for decades and that would be a true blessing from the Lord.
Did anyone notice… Huckabee is for Romney! Re-read his statement:
“…so that why I don’t think he’s not the best guy to put in the starting line up for the big game.”
Nice of him to change his political stance
Joey of FL: Thank you for your comment.
Floridian: Way to twist things. You make it sound like Mormons don’t even believe in God. GET REAL! Obviosly if they believe they can become like God they have a stronger faith in Christ’s power then you do. Think about that next time you want to post a religous mud slinging comment about Romney’s Faith.
To BJH, you’re so right; I wonder how Huckabee e could ever carry on a formal conversation with all the world leaders. Imagine sitting beside the Chinese premier or Vladimir Putin - how can he ever measure up with these men. I can just imagine how the Iranian PM and Hugo Chavez would throw dirt at this guy.
To ‘An American,’ who writes,
“Something like religion should only be used to see if the man is faithful to what he believes…”
Okay, so it doesn’t matter WHAT someone believes, as long as they are sincere . . .
I’m certain Osama bin Laden is sincere in his allegiance to radical Islam, but that doesn’t make me want to vote for him or admire him for his zealous faithfulness.
WHAT a person believes determines WHO a person is - what’s at his (or her) core.
yay! Go Huckabee. send the wall-street backed flip-flopper back !!!
vote Huckabee! for the people! http://www.mikehuckabee.com
Mike makes me laugh. He really is trying to make people think he’s just the nice and simple guy just “running for office” doesn’t he?
What a crock… He complains about Romney’s money, but we all know he and his followers would be jumping for joy if they had that kind of money, paying for all the same ads. He calls comparison ads against him ‘attack ads” but apparently his comparison ads don’t count as attack ads. He had the media play the ad against Romney he was too cheap to pay for himself. He lies about not knowing about Mormons yet was the keynote speaker for the S.Baptist conference in Salt Lake City, where the “evils of mormonism” was discussed. He’s being investigated for ethics violations.. the list goes on.
Come on Mike, at least have the decency to admit your a snake like the rest.
As for many people not like one person over the other, Mike Huckabee seems to be the only one that has the same values that are closer to my belief.
And Mc Cain want to grant green-cards for all of the Illegals that are in the United States Of America. And that is not right, nor will he want to water board any of the terrorist no matter if it saves American Life’s.
And Big Business Mitt buy cheap and sell off is not what America needs.
And Poor paul is just as bad if not close to a Loony Toon. We heard a loud mouth from texas Ross Perot, no thanks.
So we will have to push for Mike Huckabee for President for 2008.
Wow, I did not know that aspiring, in this life, to become a God, in the next life, would cause so much hate. I would prefer a man who is trying to live a life like God as my President, and let God deal with a man’s religion/faith in the afterlife.
Hey HUCKY it’s not called “voter suppression” it’s called “Politics.” Even a fifth grader would know that! Oh, and all the gifts you’ve received at the expense of others, is really evident in all that weight you put on as a Governor! You’ve done good covering it up! You’re a flip-flopping hypocrite. Another thing…show me where in the bible does it say that Preachers are paid! YOU sure do change the word of God as easily as you say you would to the constitution! Get out of the race! Everyone wants you OUT! You are the joke of all time and that’s what you’ll be known for. In debates, you proven that! You try to get pointers from Romney, but you end up screwing up because you have no idea what the heck you’re saying. You say the lamest things…”easter eggs” and your 2 highroad stimulus plan! Come on!
To ‘Tom in Detroit,’
There’s a difference between becoming ‘like God’ and becoming a god. Catch a clue!
Glenn Hamilton,
K. Wilkinson’s numbers are correct. See for yourself:
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/scorecard/#val=R
Huckabee has lost all respect from me. Many months back I was actually looking into supporting him but I’m glad that I saw his true character and didn’t.
Rally to Romney!
Huckabee has lost. Sorry all you Huckabee supporter, you con go back to dating your sisters now.
I don’t get it, why so comments in here are supporting religious? DId you guys ebfore even mention any religious things have read the bible? Let me guess you probably heard about it, may be even from a local priest , but did you read it? None of Presidents belives that bible BS anyway. THey will use it to own advantage but , it stops right there. Person who can manage this country the last thing is going to look into that genocidal book. Anyway, we have to make sure no more democrats with thier utopinas ideas and no more old timers. Every day we wake up and thiking how come things don’t cahnge. How they can change if we keeping voting same people in the office. Let’s pick the right dictator.
Q. When the cute story of Jesus saving an adultery female was insurted in the bible?
Floridian,
Do have any objection to Romney outside of the fact that he is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints? (commonly called mormons) Your anti mormon bias is NO, I repeat NO, reason for us to vote Huckabee. This is what Huckabee has been doing from the get go, playing up Romney’s faith all the while getting mad when people ask him about his.
Huckabee: Enough With ‘God Questions’
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/02/02/ap/politics/main3782612.shtml
What wrong Huckabee? You can dish it out but you can’t take it?
The fact that Romney has not lowered himself to engaging in the same tactics proves that he is a man of character while Huckabee is not.
Rally to Romney!
How do you people look at Romney and see a man who has the best intrest of the common man. He’s a suit. He will support the best intrest of the suit. Most of you may wear a suit on occassion, but I assure you he is not your champion. One time could America really do what’s best for the people! The suit’s will be fine without the Bush tax cut. you all rail agianst entitlements for the poor, but not the corporations and the rich? McCain is MAAAAADDD! He’s not fit to be President. You People scare the hell out of me. Do you like war? Do you like being told half the truth, if not being out and out lied to. The Dems are the same. If we don’t go into debt givng welfare to the world, we will go into debt blowing it up! This is not a sporting event. This is our Democracy. Where we will elect a public SERVANT to lead our Nation. Not a ruler to run the economy, lead church services, or send the real heroes into harms way over a percieved matters of pride. You people scare me! Honestly
You all seriously believe this crap? The media is liberal, and none of them want a conservative guy like Huckabee (or Romney either) in the presidency. McCain is a poor, poor choice for a presidential candidate - he calls himself a Republican and doesnt even adhere to what distinguishes a Republican from a Democrat (abortion, conservativism, etc) Romney is a hypocrite when it comes to abortion: this quote comes off his own website: GOVERNOR ROMNEY: “I am pro-life. I believe that abortion is the wrong choice except in cases of incest, rape, and to save the life of the mother. I wish the people of America agreed, and that the laws of our nation could reflect that view. But while the nation remains so divided over abortion, I believe that the states, through the democratic process, should determine their own abortion laws and not have them dictated by judicial mandate.” (Governor Mitt Romney, Boston Globe, Op-Ed, 7/26/05) Since when is life an exception??? When the baby had nothing to do with the incest, or rape? It’s still a life!!! Yet he decides when to end it and when to keep it. That is wrong, and hypocritical - don’t say you dont believe in abortion “except”…. I’m tired of everyone listening just to what they hear in the media instead of going to each person’s individual website/campaign and learning the facts for themself. We live in a lazy society, and we’re gonna pay for it in this next presidency.
Mike Huckabee is awesome!! We love you Mike!
THIS VIDEO HELPS MAKE A CHOICE BETWEEN ROMNEY, MCCAIN AND HUCKABEE.

GeorgiaforMitt, asks: “Show me where in the Bible does it say that Preachers are paid?”
I Timothy 5:17-18 . . .
~ “The elders (pastors) who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor,
especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.
For the Scripture says, ‘Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain,’
and ‘The worker deserves his wages.’ “

MWB: “Are the economy and the value of the dollar more important than honesty and integrity?”
I’d like to think I have a decent handle on honesty, integrity, respect, etc., yet I do not actively practice any religion. I don’t want to take the conversation down that road though. Let me just say that each and every person is individually responsible for his or her own honesty and integrity, and those looking to politicians for these qualities alone will be sorely disappointed more often than not. These are people who say anything to get more power. Heck, Romney says he honestly believes obsolete manufacturing jobs are coming back to Michigan to get votes there, McCain “can’t remember” when he says things that are coincidentally damaging to his campaign, and Huckabee…well, I have a laundry list of complaints there. Then you have the Dems which would take up an entire other post.
The point being – we have a much better chance of defining honesty and integrity for ourselves – and fixing the economy, by the way – if we elect people that let us make decisions for ourselves, and actively work to reduce the size of this massive government that is currently crushing our middle class and trying to be the end-all be-all word when it comes to moral authority. Our party used to not have to worry about the morality of the people, because they did not consider it their job to legislate that. Of major concern to me is that my “small government” Republican Party talked a great game about fiscal responsiblity and personal freedoms in the 90s, but blew it big time when they got the power. Who is our candidate that can bring us back? I don’t know, you tell me, but maybe that’s where our discussion should be focused. If the “more religious” guy plans to continue with business as usual, I’ll take a pass. That’s just not the most important thing for me in a presidential candidate.
Sorry for the length…
By the way - the Bible is not BS. Please be kind in your words.
Well, the rumors seem to be true. Mormons are being asked to stand watch at their computers and flood the comment threads of every news article that allows comments. I escaped LDS 5 years ago and still have a few “jack” friends at my old ward. I happen to like Romney because of his business background and when I revealed this to, they told me they needed my help as a blogger and a comment dropper. Now I’m seeing the horror come to life. The cult I left is now going to make themselves even more mainstream and accepted when they push Romney into the office. I still feel bad for all of those still trapped in the brainwashed world they live in.
LDS escapee
dont be so overdamatic
mormonism is no more a cult than any other protestant church

You people are seriously confused. Only 8% of the delegate count has been decided.
Romney spent millions of dollars In Iowa saying that Mike Huckabee was not conservative. But now, he is stealing votes from the conservatives? Which one is it?
You all sit around and criticize Huckabee for not quitting because you want your guy to win. That is ridiculous.
And Whining? I actually heard Romney say, “Please dont touch my hair”.
Give me a break people. Win fair and square. Dont try to manipulate your way into a victory. That is what Hillary does.
The LDS religion believes that as literal Children of God we can attain the same level of responsibility as our Heavenly Parents IF we can learn to live by the same principles and laws that THEY do. Given that basic concept.. the theology isn’t that wild. True, its a different way of looking at God, but not anymore “out there” then anyone else.
I do have to laugh at those who just go on about us “ruling our own planet”. We’ll do all that God has done, which means creating universes and such. If your going to ridicule the delusion of grandeur, at least get the delusion right. *grin*
I feel it is actually a disgrace for this country that someone like Huck is running for President. His words and actions show he is a bigot and a hypocrite (he exudes hate) with clearly no class or smarts. If he wanted any dignity, he should have stopped sucking up to McCain and dropped out of the race so that people can make decisions based on real issues and not religion.
Republicans need fresh blood who is NOT from the old boy network of “professional” politicians, and who is smart/quick to make and execute the right decisions in this tough economy. I see only Romney as the one…
As a true believer in Christ, my only real problem with Romney is that his religion is actually a cult, and directly violates the Bible in several key ways. Is her conservative - yes, but is he misguided also - yes. This worries me about how else he could be led astray.
From what I’ve seen Huckabee and then McCain were the ones playing the victim. Could somebody please reference what Huckabee is talking about when he says Romney “Jumps up and down . . .” I am not saying it hasn’t happened. It has just been my impression watching what I have of debates, etc, that Huckabee and McCain do more of playing the victim.
As far as personal attacks. I think most of Romney’s punches have been about one’s political record or their personal behavior while on the political scene (McCain). I haven’t seen Romney throw any personal punches at McCain like bringing up his history or adultery, etc. I actually think this shows a great deal of professionalism on the part of Romney. Or granted, he may just think a personal attack like that would make him look bad. Its hard to know any politician’s heart.
Speaking of knowing a politician’s heart, maybe voters should pray about it. I bring up that issue just because it seems like there are quite a few evangilicals and mormons on this and similar blogs, and one thing they do have in common is a belief in prayer.
Romney is going DOWN hard. You Romney guys can’t on the one hand accuse Huckabee of being a LIBERAL masquerading as a Republican and then on the other hand accuse him of taking the CONSERVATIVE vote away from your man (who is by the way a conservative in no sense of the word… fiscal, social, or otherwise).
