Romney to Huckabee: “No Whining”
Atlanta, GA—
Stop number two on the Mitt Romney cross-country trek was Georgia Tech where the presidential hopeful spoke to close to 1,000 enthusiastic supporters–he hinted that he might do better than expected in California and said that it was “fine” with him that John McCain was in his home state of Massachusetts yesterday:
“I’ve been spending my time in Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, and right here in Georgia where I can get delegates and so you guys are going to hand the liberals in our party a little surprise when we take California, take Georgia, take states across the country and we take this nomination.”
Romney is clearly focused on John McCain, not Mike Huckabee, but the former Arkansas governor has been going after Romney on a daily basis. After days of asking him about it, Romney finally responded with two words: “No whining,” upon hearing that Huckabee accused Romney of “voter suppression:”
“First a couple of rules in politics. One, no whining and number two you get them to vote for you and so I want them not to vote for Mike Huckabee and not to vote for John McCain and to vote for me,” Romney told reporters, “I presume that’s the way everybody feels in this race, in their own campaign. That’s sort of the nature of politics. I’m going to work real hard to convince people don’t vote for the other guys. Vote for me. That’s not voter suppression that’s known as politics.”
Next stop— a re-fueling stop and press conference in Oklahoma City.

No whining? How about no lying? You, Mr. Romney, have been making phone calls into voters’ homes and saying, “This is now a two-man race.” What gives you the right to decide who is still in the race? Huckabee DID NOT drop out. How dare you, in your arrogance, discount him? He’s spent far less than you - and has gotten close to the same results as you. In the southern states right now, he’s close to McCain. If you really cared about the party, you’d drop out and give Huckabee a chance to win all the southern states. That’s the only way we have a chance of beating McCain. Oh, and by the way - how is it that Limbaugh and Hannity call Huckabee liberal - but in the next breath say he’s splitting the conservative vote with Romney. The bias is stunning.
Go Romney!!!!!!!
Will Huck supporters come over to the Romney camp tomorrow after Huck falls too far behind?
Remember, we can’t let McCain win…..
Chris,
What gives him the right??? You just got to be kidding me. First off the numbers.
Huckabutt has been telling Romney all alone to pack it up and go home. What right does he have other then his shear hatred twards another mans faith.
.
It’s sad when people attack Romney’s religion and call themselves Christians. I can guarantee that they don’t go around attacking Jews, Seventh Day Adventists, Catholics, Mormons, err, wait. Scratch that last one….
Governor Romney, You have some nerve talking about whining and all the experience you bring to the table when you couldn’t even run the state of Massachusetts for one term. I remind you that you spent more time OUT OF THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE sipping MINT Juleps at the Kentucky Derby and so many other events on our tax dollar in preparation for this run for President. I remind you of the interview you gave to our Boston newspapers stating that you “never wanted to run for Governor of Massachusetts in the first place as the Romney Name in Michigan was golden because of your mother and father”. So why did you when we had qualified and committed Weld 1 Republicans like Charlie Baker and Dan Grabauskas who not only lived here in Massachusetts with their families for all of their lives, but had it not been for the leadership and debate preparation by Charlie Baker, you never would have made it into Room 360. Yes, everyone can see that State Government did look like Bain and Company once you took over, as you replaced all the good folks appointed by Bill Weld, who had run State Agencies from 1991 to your term, when you replaced them with your old cronies and money men in the private sector. I hope the smart Republicans, Independents, and Democrats who vote tomorrow, Super Tuesday, vote for anyone other than you. We lost enough with this year’s Super Bowl which was so sad, so now it’s time to balance the scales of justice by losing you from the field of candidates for President. SWEEEETTTTT!!!!
Romney/Rice 08
Huckabee tells folks to let the air out of their neighbor’s tires if they won’t vote for him yet got upset that Romney suggested people vote for him instead of Huckabee.
Huckabee called Romney arrogant for suggesting Huckabee supporters would vote for Romney yet he called on Romney to quit so Romney supporters can vote for Huckabee.
I like Mike, but I sure don’t understand his logic.
David, was Romney not elected by the majority of voters in Massachusetts?
Calm down Chris. It will all be over tomorrow.
I can’t understand why so many Huck supporters will say that he’s SOOO conservative, having never changed positions on anything. At least Romney can look into the camera and say, “I was wrong, and I admit it”.
I don’t here Huck apologizing for supporting in-state tuition for illegals. I guess that’s OK, though, being an advocate for illegals…..
Well there is two rules on crying.
1. There is no crying in baseball.
2. There is no crying in politics unless you are Hillary Clinton.
So stop your crying Huckabee. The truth will set you free.
That truth is…a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain (Democrat Lite.)
NO WHINING CHRIS!
David=Idiot
Vote Ron Paul
I hate to break it to you, but Huckabee is leading Romney in most of the southern states. Romney doesn’t stand a flip flopper’s chance in you know where to win those southern states - so he should do what he told Huckabee to do ….. DROP OUT. Romney is not going to win in the more liberal states. McCain has those sewn up. And he’s not going to win in the south. So where does he go? Back to Boston. This thing is going to the convention. When it does - Huckabee wins the vote. Once the delegates get to know the truth about his conservative record (and stop listening to Romney and Limbaugh) they’ll vote him in as the nominee. Can’t wait until September! By the way - did you know that Huckabee polls better against Hillary and Obama than Romney does? Face it … people don’t connect with Romney. He is the Republican John Kerry. What happened to Kerry? I predict Romney drops out before Huckabee. It comes down to McCain and Huckabee at the convention and Huckabee wins.
Does anyone here think Huck’s supporter’s, realizing tomorrow that McShamnesty and Romney take most of the delegates, will come help Romney defeat amnesty?
No whining! I love it!
OK Chris, I’ll take that bet. I’m saying Romney comes in second behind traitor McShamnesty, with Huck a distant third. I’ll one up you and say that Huck bows out after realizing there aren’t enough delegates left for him, and he endorses McShamnesty. Go ahead and tell me what the stakes are…..
GO ROMNEY !!! WILL ALL YOU HUCKABEE SUPPORTERS IN THE LATER STATES PLEASE VOTE FOR ROMNEY AFTER TOMMORROW IF HUCK DOESN’T GET A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF DELEGATES ? WE HAVE TO STOP MCCAIN OR WE’RE DOOMED !! PLEASE THINK OF OUR FUTURE.
GO ROMNEY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris,
You need to get realistic and stop taking this personal. It is not a lie that this is a two man race. It IS between Romney and McCain. Every poll and every primary since Iowa proves it. At this point Huckabee is splitting the conservative vote and aiding McCain. I believe that Huckabee knows it too, which is only hurting everyone. Huckabee is selfish.
I know that those who hate Romney decided a long time ago to REALLY hate him. But you are doing yourself and the country no favors. Romney is not a liar. The only real issue that he has factually changed positions on is abortion. He did a flip and has not gone back! He is extremely intelligent and hard working. His many successes in his career and family are testaments of his character.
He is compassionate and service oriented. He donated his million dollar salary from his Olympic job to charity, every penny.
David– You need medication!
It is time for everyone to rally around Romney. Otherwise, kiss your country, your language, your traditions, your social security and your sovereignty good-bye. Cause McCain will give them all away! Don’t believe me? He has already voted to do just that. Do you really want to put him in charge?
http://www.evangelicalsformitt.org
Thanks Becky! Do you think Huck will endorse McShamnesty after Huck realizes there aren’t enough delegates left in the final states?
Talk about a blow to Huck supporters, huh? Their shining conservative endorsing a liberal democrat because he hates mormons…..
YOU GO K WILKINSON.
i COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU . I’M SO SORRY THAT WE ALL DIDN’T GET BEHIND ROMNEY SOONER. I HOPE IT’S NOT TO LATE..
VOTE ROMNEY PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!
Mike Huckabee is the true conservative. He wont change his mind 5 times by Thursday.
DON’T KNOW WHAT HUCK’S SUPPORTER WILL DO K…. I ‘M PRAYING FOR A OVERNIGHT CONVERSION…….
Romney = Rob-me of Rmoney.
Romney is a puppet to Wall Street. He has no substance which is why he attacked others on their records rather than promote ideas that will bring growth and prosperity to this nation.
Is there anything more bold and common sense that the Fair Tax? Huckabee supports the Fair Tax. Free citizens to save and invest in America vs. causing trillions of dollars to stay in off shore business trusts. Bring jobs back by leveling the playing field with imports that don’t carry income tax burden where made-in-USA does carry personal and corporate tax burden priced into products before they even get to market (& then are taxed again via a VAT when consumed outside our borders).
Wouldn’t it be great to see Huckabee and Romney debate one-on-one? Huckabee would fleece Romney. Romney = no substance. Romney is a puppet.
Go Huckabee!
http://www.mikehuckabee.com
DALLAS ….. IS SUPPORT STRONG THERE FOR ROMNEY. I LIVE IN FLORIDA RIGHT NOW & WE FAILED ROMNEY BY JUST A LITTLE ON THE 29TH… WE WILL NEED TEXAS STRONG NEXT MONTH…
I thought there might be more important things to do tonight than campaign for Romney, but I look at my three beautiful kids and say to myself, “The future’s on the line with three liberal democrats trying to dissolve our nation with amnesty, and the two decent candidates can’t resolve their differences and come together to defeat these traitors.”
This really sucks people. Think about it. If Huck doesn’t do well tomorrow and endorses anyone but Romney, we’re so screwed. Start flying the mexican flag at 1600 Pennsylvania avenue and minting pesos……………..America will be sold to mexico through poverty, ignorance and the liberal democrats lust for power.
What ’s up with you Chris, you are so bitter against Mitt Romney. You do have to admit that your candidate is the biggest whiner out there. The rest of us can see it except you, are you blind or something?
Folks, don’t waste your breath to talk to a rock, the rock will never get it, because there is no brain in the rock, he has no ears to hear, no eyes to see. Just a simple blind follower of his lying preacher.
Shame, shame, shame.
Romney is the clear choice for President.
Good night Chris.
Too many lies out there. The only true conservative is Mitt Romney!…….
Every time Huckaby opens his mouth, all I hear is the echoes of Bill Clinton. He is constantly reminding me of the famous Clinton truthful assertion: “I did not have sexual….: Somehow Huckaby has the same “truthfullness” about him…….
Enough is enough! D.C. is broken!!!! ……..
Lets leave that machine behind!!! In fact, there are too many pseudo Republicans (Macpain) that are still part of the Washington Machine. Let’s replace that machine it starting with one very moral and trustworthy outsider; MITT ROMNEY!
How does ROMNEY / RICE sound> Great! A new beginning!!! in 2008
HANG IN THERE DALLAS … KISS THE KIDDO’S AND PRAY WITHOUT CEASING……… WELL YOU HAVE TO SPEND SOME TIME TRYING TO CONVINCE THESE GUYS TO SWITCH. THAT’S ALL I’VE BEEN DOING FOR WEEKS NOW. I HOPE WE’RE NOT TO LATE..
GO ROMNEY !!!!!!!
Yeah Knight. A theology degree from a seminary vs. an honors MBA from Harvard. I’m sure world leaders will be moved by Huck speaking in tongues…..
So, back to reality, if Huck can’t secure enough delegates tomorrow for the nomination, are you going left with McShamnesty?
Dallas Republican,
I’m with you on Mitt. But the only thing I agree with Chris on is that Huckabee won’t get out. Huckabee can’t win the nomination as after tomorrow he will be out of most of the bible belt states (even though he couldn’t win S.C.) to get delegates.
However, we all know Huckabee isn’t in this race to win but rather to keep Mitt Romney from uniting the conservatives and winning himself. Whether or not he hates Mitt cause he has money or hates Mitt cause he is a Mormon, I don’t know but he is nothing more than a spoiler.
Romney is the only conservative who has a chance to win the nomination and win in November.
We all know even if he won the nomination he would lose in November hands down. South isn’t enough in November either.
So a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain (Democrat Lite) !!!!
You to Becky! This is way too important to sleepover. The Dallas meeting of Citizens for Immigration Reform was standing room only on Jan 8th.
Pete Sessions spoke, and Romney’s name was on top of the list for candidates with strong enforcement backgrounds. We’re keeping the faith that we won’t have to defend the Alamo twice….
I FEAR THEIR ALREADY INSIDE THE GATES.. IT MAY BE TIME FOR A COUP D’E TAT
Paul, completely agreed. But there is one perplexing dilemma for Huck and his supporters, so I’ll make it easy:
1. Since we already know that McShamnesty and Romney will secure most of the delegates tomorrow, Huck will have a choice.
a. He can stay in to the bitter end and surely split the base, all but assuring McCain’s nomination.
b. He can bow out after tomorrow having realized that there are not enough delegates left to secure his nomination, and he will probably endorse somebody.
c. He boards McShamnesty’s double-talk express as the vp, and becomes known as the “conservative that never was”.
d. He can put his differences aside and realize this country isn’t all about him, and think about how my 4 yr old sleeping behind me deserves to grow up without socialist policies that destroyed central and south america, and endorse ROMNEY!!!!!!
Huckabee is behind in Georgia. Would sometime please kick this scaliwag out of the party
Let’s examine some of the top issues among the two leading Republican candidates:
Bush Tax Cuts - McCain voted against them twice on liberal class warfare arguments that they gave too much to the rich. He has since lied that his opposition was tied to spending concerns. McCain can’t be trusted on tax cuts. Romney will never make this same argument.
Decision: Romney
Earmark Reform and Spending: BOTH Romney and McCain support vetoing bills with ear-marks. McCain can point to a few he’s killed, but in 24 years in the Senate he hasn’t done much to improve the overall situation. Romney, on the other hand, has *proven* an ability to balance a budget–including the one with a $3B gap in MA. Romney has already put out his position regarding holding non-defense spending at inflation less 1%. Further, he has astutely pointed out that the bigger problem is not the pork-barrel spending but the mess known as entitlement spending.
Decision: Romney, but McCain does get points for expressing strong opposition to pork-barrel spending
Judges: Despite his recent pledge to appoint Conservative judges, McCain has ridiculed Roberts for “wearing his Conservatism on his sleeve” and continues to love Sandra Day O’Connor. Romney is no fan of O’Connor and has expressed strong support for Alito and Roberts.
Decision: Romney
Trade and the Economy: McCain doesn’t hold a candle to Romney when it comes to understanding economics. He’s even admitted multiple times he doesn’t know much about economics. He’s never managed anything. In stark contrast, Romney has a stellar career of accomplishments.
Decision: Romney
Healthcare: McCain doesn’t hold a candle to Romney when it comes to understanding healthcare. I don’t know that I’ve ever even heard him utter the words. Romney is the only candidate of either party that has actually tackled this problem. Considering the Democrats have made this one of their leading issues, doesn’t it make sense to put up a candidate that can take this issue away. They can speculate all they want. Romney has already done it.
Decision: Romney
Immigration: Mitt Romney has taken a firm stand on ending illegal immigration while John McCain wrote the biggest amnesty bill in history.
Decision: Romney
Traditional Marriage: Mitt Romney strongly supports traditional marriage and supports a federal amendment to define marriage as between one man and one woman. John McCain voted *against*similiar legislation.
Decision: Romney
National Security: McCain clearly has military experience that Romney does not. He also has more experience with foreign policy. True. Romney, on the other hand, has much better temperament and has shown outstanding decision making ability throughout his career. Further, many have suggested he understands the current struggle against radical jihadists much better than most politicians. It’s no secret the Democrats will try to hang McCain with the war. Their base is extremely opposed and after Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld McCain is the highest profile poster child for the war.
Decision: Split, but leans toward Romney once you take it to the national election.
On seven of the top eight issues, Romney is clearly more qualified than McCain and the eigth is even a toss-up.
Mitt Romney - a PROVEN LEADER with the EXPERIENCE to tackle and solve the problems Washington has left undone.
Mike Huckabee was recently named on of the “10 Most Corrupt Politicians of 2007″ by the independent Judicial Watch organization. Also, Newsweek ran an article about how his son hung a dog (Think Michael Vick) and then Governor Huckabee made sure that his son wasn’t prosecuted for it.
For links to these articles go to http://www.conservativesformitt.blogspot.com
“If you’re a conservative, there really is only one place to go right now. I would even argue further than that. If you are a Republican in the broadest sense, there is only one place to go right now, and that’s Mitt Romney.
– Senator Rick Santorum
Here’s what the CEO of one of the businesses Romney helped said about Romney’s LEADERSHIP:
Boston, MA – Today, Staples Founder Thomas Stemberg released the following statement regarding Governor Romney’s record of growing businesses and creating jobs:
“At this critical time for our economy, the United States needs a leader in Washington who actually has a record in the private sector of creating jobs. That leader is Mitt Romney. He knows what it takes to create jobs because he has done it time and time again. As a businessman, Governor Romney took a chance and invested in the first Staples store. Today, tens of thousands of Staples employees across this country have jobs because of that decision. That’s a clear record of action that Mitt Romney repeated time after time. Washington needs leaders who can do more than just talk about creating jobs.”
*emphasis added
Becky, I’ll stand ’til I fall in my home. My grandparents spoke English and left my parents a beautiful city, my parents speak English and left me a beautiful city, and I intend to do the same.
If I wanted to speak spanish and live in squalor, I’ll move to Mexico, but I don’t need it coming to me!
Hi Marti in CA, Dano and Robert Page. Robert, do you know Jimmy Plant? Just kidding. Let’s hope for the best. Maybe the dense one’s will “get it” after tomorrow…..
Romney is only in this race because he tossed millions of dollars of stones at Huckabee. Had he played straight up, Huckabee would have fleeced Romney months ago. All of you Romney supporters could save the conservative party by voting Huckabee instead of Romney… You are welcome away from the dark side any time you see the light.
I can never vote for someone who blatently mischaracterizes someone like Romney did against Huckabee. Pull once sentance out of a rejection of a clemency application and call Huckabee soft on crime? Sick the Club for Greed on Huckabee when he did a stellar job in Arkansans? Call Huckabee’s support of merit-based scholarships to anyone within our borders who earned them (what, like 5 kids total?) and calling Huckabee soft on illegal immigration?
Huckabee will liberate Americans from the puppeteers by completely overhauling our tax system, he will build the border fence, require illegals to get in the back of the line and come through the front door after the fence has been built, build our military, keep a strong presence in the middle east, be honest and true to the American people and the world. He is an amazing communcator who will serve our people well. Romney doesn’t even come close.
Why haven’t you and other columnist raised questions about Sean, Rush, Glen Beck and other radio talk show hosts’ failure to make full disclosure regarding their financial affiliation with Romney’s Bain Capital? It can’t be a secret that their support of Romney and trashing of McCain and Huckabee raises serious reasons to question their credibility. Even tonight Sean had the NERVE to chastize Bob Dole for trying to get Rush to back off of McCain.
It can’t be a secret, either that Romney’s Bain Capital purchased the massive radio and TV network, Clear Channel, just in time for Romney to launch his campaign. Why would they hide the fact that they earn big bucks from their contracts with Clear Channel Network? In the unlikely event you didn’t know…it is easily found by checking the many links on the Internet.
An example:
“Clear Channel owns more than 1,100 full-power AM, FM, and shortwave radio stations, twelve radio channels on XM Satellite Radio, and more than 30 television stations in the United States. Premiere Radio Networks, which is the largest syndication company in the United States, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Clear Channel and is home to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and many others. Sean Hannity recently signed a large multi-market contract with Clear Channel, as well.”
McCain vs Hillary or Obama in November.
1. Illegal Immigration and Amnesty: Same
2. Lack of knowledge on how the economy works: Same
3. Taxes: Same
4. Was a Democrat or considering becoming a Democrat in 2001: Same
5. Potential John Kerry running mate in 2004: Same
Wow, you have to take those three big time winning issues for Republicans in November and take them off the table with McCain. So McCain will run on his war record (much like Kerry did) and his stance on Iraq as the only major difference between him and them.
McCain is Democrat Lite.
GOODNIGHT ALL… HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE A LATE NIGHT TOMMORROW. I THINK THAT WOULD MOST LIKELY BODE WELL FOR ROMNEY.. LUCK TO US ALL & GOD BLESS
GO ROMNEY !!!!!!!!!
Knight, it helps to use spell check, or some may characterize you as “backwoods”. I’m only trying to help here. And Huck was soft on immigration. Check out ALIPAC’S website.
They called out Huck on his touch-back amnesty program, so Huck scurried to Numbers USA to sign Roy Beck’s pledge 17 days ago (thus flipping positions).
Barbee, do you really think Rush, who’s been nailing 31 MIL for years, is worried about Clear Channel? If you do the math, he could buy his own radio station. People like Rush don’t do it for the money anymore, that’s pointless, they do it to teach and preserve conservatism.
So good try Ms. Doll, but is this your idea of a vast right-wing conspiracy??????
Any more takers here?
ATTENTION CONSERVATIVES: EXTREME WARNING!!!!
Do not vote for Huckafly a vote for this Lib is a vote for McCain who is even more liberal.
Go out and be true to the Republican party and to the conservative platform, that means:
VOTE ROMNEY!!!!!
If Mike Huckabee ruins tomorrow and publicly endorses, he already has tacitly endorsed, McCain, he should be kicked out of the party. Those that site all exit polls from South Carolina don’t understand that asking who their second choice would be back then is not decisive about what they would do now. If they flock to McCain then they are frauds as they are not truly conservatives. McCain doesn’t support an amendment to ban gay marriage and he is against the political speech rights of Right to Life groups. He is no social conservative. Romney, regardless of what position he took at one time, supports an amendment to ban abortion and gay marriage. He is endorsed by National Review and his faith makes him care deeply about social values. McCain has admitted he is not passionate about social issues and his dubious marital history shows he is not a social consersative. McCain is a hot head who uses profanity in Congress. Romney is a dedicated family man whose faith prohibits the use of profanity. If Huckabee supporters truly care about the right to life and conservative values they have only one way to make a difference, and that’s to get behind Romney and defeat the moderate maverick who is trying to abondon conservatives with phony lip service and move the party to left. There is only one last chance, as voting for Huckabee will give it to McCain. Folks, those are the facts. If you are truly loyal social conservatives you will help Romney carry the old confederacy and make sure that your voices are heard on right to life free speech and banning liberal judge ordered gay marriages. Remember, it was Reagan on the top of the ticket, and the moderate George H.W Bush on the bottom. The choice is clear, it’s either a moderate maverick at the top or a conservative banner carried by a new messenger, Romney. Romney has the ability to win in every part of the country, as proven by his near miss in Florida and the fact that he leads in one Georgia poll, even with Huckabee still campaigning. Huckabee can’t win anywhere but one or two heavily evangelical populated states. The time is now, Huckabee supporters, use your head and not your heart to protect the last chance for conservatives to have an impassioned advocate for amendments against abortion and gay marriage.
Where do these Huck supporters get off attacking a for-profit radio station anyway? Isn’t that an oxymoron in principle?
And I suppose the people that make millions (obviously a bad thing) being conservative talk hosts (another bad thing) are all wrong and colluding to deride Huck?
Maybe they can tune in to Air America and listen to Michael Moore. Michael Moore documents evil corporations and gluttonous millionaires.
Maybe some of these Huck supporters could hire Michael Moore to go after EVIL CLEAR CHANNEL and their for-profit schemes to derail Huck!
STRANGE RULES:
“First a couple of rules in politics. One, no whining and number two you get them to vote for you and so I want them not to vote for Mike Huckabee and not to vote for John McCain and to vote for me,” Romney told reporters
Those were Romney’s two rules: My number on RULE — NO LYING. Recently Romney said: I regret that I didn’t serve in Viet Nam…yeah…sure he did!
ROMNEY: Boston Herald, 5/2/94
“I was not planning on signing up for the military. It was not my desire to go off and serve in Vietnam…”
ROMNEY: Boston Globe, 6/24/07
“I longed in many respects to actually be in Vietnam and be representing our country there and in some ways it was frustrating not to feel like I was there as part of the troops that were fighting in Vietnam.”
Dallas,
The fact that Huckabee supporters have had to lower themselves to the point of attacking Romney with conspiracy theories just proves what we have been saying, that Huckabee stands no chance of winning. Conservatives, we deserve someone who won’t try to “modernize” (John McCain code for “liberalize”) the conservative movement. We need Romney. Tomorrow before you vote, remember what is at stake here and what your true options are. Please come out, rain snow sleet or tidal wave, and support Mitt Romney.
Rally to Romney!
Dallas Republican,
LOL, no, can’t say that I do. If Huckabee supporters are so blind as not to understand that a southern baptist preacher trailing a Mormon and a moderate maverick in Georgia can’t possible win the nomination, much less lend enough strength to the bottom of a McAmensty ticket. It’s either Romney or we’ll all get McCain, a maverick moderate who cares nothing about social values, beyond political expendiency. Social conservative evangelicals, read about McCain not really carring about social issues. Romney lives the life of strong soical values, and he is embraced publicly the right to life and traditional marriage. Instead of attacking Romney and giving the apathetic McCain a pass on indifference on social values, look at who walks the walk, not who talks the talk. Vote for the walker, Romney, not the moderate maverick talker, on issues dear to all social conservatives.
Keep watching your puppet show children.
When you grow up, you might understand that all of the hatred is part of the game but if the koolaid tastes good… keep drinking it.
Huckabee is the true consistent conservative. Romney is a flip-flop puppet who will use the power of the presidency to keep the puppet show going full swing. Power and money flow to the puppet masters who he is beholden to. No surprise that Bain owns the talking heads.
Huckabee is not beholden to anyone but We the People. You might want to check him out at http://www.mikehuckabee.com if you aren’t a complete koolaid drinking zombie.
Peace.
Yt_Knight
So Romney, a valedictorian with dual Harvard degrees, didn’t serve in Viet Nam? Well, John Kerry served in Nam. Are you about to heap praises on him?
And what is Romney supposed to say about voting? Don’t vote for me. Vote for my opponents. That’s a brilliant strategy……
Im concerned by the McCain ads i have seen. He is using our troops in Iraq as props for his campaign. Im a vet who served for 4 years during the Vietnam Conflict. I find this to be insulting to me.
Great men like George Bush sr. and Bob Dole served and sacrificed much for our country. And they never wraped themselves in the sacrifice of others like McCain is doing.
Is anything out of bounds to this guy? How low is he willing to go?
Sorry… Good point Barbie Doll. I gotta jump on this too.
If Romney (I’ll say/do/promise anything for your vote) was so regretful of not serving in the military, do you think, perhaps, that one of his five sons might have had any military duty? Oh… yeah… they are on their way to enlist right now.
Just prooving that Romney will say anything…
Peace.
Did Huck ever serve in the military? I havn’t seen anything on this.
Here’s the ugly truth about McCain’s record:
-IMMIGRATION: he wrote the bill granting amnesty to illegal immigrants (co-sponsored by Ted Kennedy)
-SOCIAL SECURITY: he voted to give your social security money to illegal immigrants
-TAXES: he voted against the Bush tax cuts multiple times (he has since flip-flopped and has campaigned as a lifelong tax-cutter)
-RHETORIC: he routinely engages in Democratic class warfare against big companies in America, particularly the “evil” drug companies who research cures to debilitating diseases for a profit
-ECONOMY: as recently as December 2007 he admitted “he does not know the economy very well” and needed to get better at it
-1ST AMENDMENT: he wrote the McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill that was declared to be an unconstitutional infringement of the 1st Amendment (co-sponsored by ultra-liberal Democrat Russ Feingold)
-2ND AMENDMENT: he was called the “worst 2nd amendment candidate” by the president of the NRA
-EQUAL PROTECTION: lifelong supporter of affirmative action
-ENERGY TAX: wrote a bill (co-sponsored by his buddy Lieberman) imposing a massive tax on energy which, according to the Department of Energy, would drastically raise the price of gasoline and put 300,000 Americans out of work
-GLOBAL WARMING: supports radical global warming legislation which involved him voting with every Democrat; think only America is responsible to take action, not other superpowers
-JUDGES: he joined forces with Democrats (Gang of 14) to block the Senate Republican’s attempt to confirm conservative, strict constructionist judges; also said Alito was too conservative for his liking
-WAR ON TERROR: fought with Hillary Clinton to demand that terrorists be given a full American trial
-GAY MARRIAGE: he joined liberals to fight against a federal marriage amendment supporting the institution of traditional marriage
-CHRISTIANS: campaigning in 2000, he famously described Christian leaders as “agents of intolerance”
-PRO-LIFE: he filed an amicus brief against pro-life advocates in Wisconsin
-BI-PARTISANSHIP: he met with leading Democrats in 2004 to discuss the possibility of being John Kerry’s Vice-President; publicly considered leaving the Republican Party in 2001 after he lost the primary
-INTELLECT: finished 894 out of 899 in his class in the Naval Academy.
-PROFESSIONAL ETHICS: ringleader of the infamous Keating 5 ethical scandal which cost US tax payers $160 billion (Google it)
-PERSONAL ETHICS: McCain cheated on his first wife after she had a severe accident that left her partially disabled. He then divorced her and married his multi-millionaire mistress, whose daddy bought McCain a spot in the Congress
Ok, after listening to all you peeps I have decided on Romney!
McCain, I live in AZ and you have helped ruin this state u worthless bum!
Thanks Mike and Robert. Kudos to Nevada for being smarter than Florida, too! We all know it was the amnesty-clamoring Cubans that loved McCain. Vive la McCain, right? Wrong.
The Huck supporters are down to attacking Romney’s religion and his money (signs of desperation). I wonder if they go around talking smack about Jews or Buddhists? Not very Christian.
I have weighed all the Republican candidates on only one issue: immigration. And of the three that are left, ONLY ROMNEY has kept the highest rating from the beginning-with McShamnesty dead last receiving an “abysmal” rating.
Our country is under ATTACK! It’s an army of poverty and ignorance, and the liberals are courting them for votes in trade for amnesty!!!
Therefore, using rock solid evidence of impartial ratings, ROMNEY stands alone. Period…..
“Just proving that Romney will say anything…” (quoted from Yt_Knight)
I’m actually starting to think that Huckabee and his die hard supporters will say anything…
Lets look at the situation. Romney and McCain are near tied in delegates. Romney has money, organization and is competitive nationwide. Huckabee is near broke, has a tiny organization and is only competitive in states where evangelicals who buy into his “conservative” populism are. He also has been defending McCain from the get go and continues to compliment McCain so much that McCain actually made an ad out of all of his compliments. Huckabee runs against and attacks Romney as if Romney had a 50% lead over everybody or something. Face it, Huckabee is McCain’s stooge. He is meant to deliver the election to McCain, probably so McCain can make him VP. The only candidate who can stop the liberal in conservatives clothing McCain is Romney. We need to rally for Romney before we end up with McCain.
Rally to Romney!
Look, it is easy to see that Huckabee has only won one state. Romney has won Nevada, Maine, Michigan and Wyoming. He is most likely going to win Colorado, Utah, Massachusetts and trails by a small margin in California and Georgia. To date Huckabee is not leading in a single poll. He is not even leading in Alabama, McCain has taken the lead there. So for Huckabee to say he has had the same results is a joke! And Romney is tring for 1st place while Huckabee is tring for 2nd. Huckabee NEVER challenges McCain, only Romney. Who is the man to beat Huckabee? Do you even know where you are? 2nd is not good enough for me so,,,, I vote NO!!!!!! to Huckabee! Spoiler is right on the money!!!
I’m with you on that point, Dallas Republican. Clearly Barbee Doll doesn’t understand the economy or the social structure of society, just like Huckabee and McCain.
The owners of Clear Channel and the “talent” employed to host their programs understand in a climate of ultra-sensitivity to political correctness that censorship is not tolerated. They also understand that the real “boss” is the paying customer. If they don’t provide the authentic conservative talk radio that their listeners and sponsors want, their listeners will permanently turn the channel, they will lose market-share, and with it advertising dollars and their business will fail.
Bain Capital is not giving talking points to conservative talk show hosts. They are taking their points from the market of listeners that support them. Like every other media outlet, they try to keep things sensational and edgy, but essentially they are telling conservatives what they want to hear. Those are the economics of talk radio.
Wait a minute. Ive heard endless stories on McCain and his military history. And people are making a big deal about what Mitt said about Vietnam.
But ive never heard anything about Huck serving our country.
Has huck ever served in the military and if not.. why not?
Beeper, you are the man! Thanks for fighting communism, and being able to see that McCain is just an opportunistic pig.
He has an egocentric fixation on the Presidency, and will stop at nothing to be king! By the way, y’all check out Jackie Mason’s video on You Tube! He calls McCain a phony. God Bless Jackie Mason.
Good for you Big Joe! I heard that the illegals are leaving AZ in droves and headed here. With Romney as Prez, we can all feel safer about removing these intruders altogether.
Back in ‘06, I was pissed watching these illegals fly their mexican flags in the protests. What an insult to vets like Beeper.
It’s time to elect a President with a proven record of being tough on illegals…VOTE ROMNEY!!!
O’Reilly had Huckabee on the Fox Channel tonight. There he was in front of millions of voters…the day before the biggest vote in the election for president of the United States and what did he talk about…The difference between himself and the front runner, McCain…NO…How he would make a better president than the front runner McCain…NO…Did he mention McCain’s name…NO…Did he talk about his plans…his strategies after becoming president and what he could do for the voters specifically…NO…He put down ROMNEY…He compared himself to ROMNEY>>AM I CONVINCED. Yep, he is it for a scorched earth policy. He is in it for no other reason than to give McCain a leg up. It was a long interview and it was free and it was the night before the election and millions of people watching and he could not think of anything to convince the voter why not to vote for the front runner in the race…He could not even mention McCain as an opponent…INCREDIBLE>
David Thompson, Arkansas conservative evangelical, vice-chairman Republican committee, Little Rock, Arkansas, Arkansas’ largest county:
“Huckabee insisted on having “his people” controlling the Republican Party campaign organizations that are set up in Arkansas each election cycle. He also insisted that his guy remain as state party chairman when party leaders planned to make a change. The mismanagement and ineptness that followed was so great that the Republican Party plunged into debt and the Federal Election Commission levied the the largest fine ever against a state political party following an investigation of the 2000 and 2002 election cycles. Obviously, this set back the Republican Party of Arkansas for years.
“When Huckabee started his first full term in 1998, Arkansas had just elected a Republican Governor, Lt. Governor, U.S. Senator, and 2 Republican Congressmen. Upon his leaving office in 2007, Republicans now hold no statewide offices, have no Republicans in the U.S.Senate, and only one Republican Congressman remains. ”
“It was often said during Huckabee’s term that Arkansas had 3 parties: Republican Party, Democrat Party, and the Huckabee Party. ”
“He destroyed the conservative movement in Arkansas, and left the Republican Party in shambles.” - Phyllis Schlafly, president of the national Eagle Forum
“His support for taxes split the Republican Party, and damaged our name brand.” – Former Arkansas State Representative Randy Minton (R)
“I think if they knew [his record] it would totally de-energize them . . . his policies are just wrong.” – Former Arkansas State Senator Jim Holt’s (R) warning for conservatives around the country who think they have found their candidate in Mike Huckabee.
VOTE FOR ROMNEY!!! Huck is a “whiner”. How could “Liberal McCain” and “Whiner Huck” ever run this country? All Americans are aware that Huck is hoping that by continuously attacking Romney, he could be the Vice-President.
All Republicans need to unite, and vote for Romney! California, Georgia, Missouri, West Virginia, Colorado, Illinois, Montana. and every other state in America, Save the Republican Party and vote for the authentic conservative! Mitt Romney for the President of the United States!
We, as Republicans appreciate your vote for Romney!!!
I did a google search and found that Huckabee never served his country in the military. Could this explain his mancrush on McCain?
Beeper, Paul, Diana Instag8er and the rest of y’all goodnight and God Bless! I just hope Huck proves me wrong and doesn’t endorse McCain.
But if he did, that would be like stabbing all his CONSERVATIVE supporters in the back, wouldn’t it?
Have a great night, and see you on the other side. ROMNEY ‘08!!!
Same to you Dallas , nite
I’m a Mormon. My good friend is a Baptist. I was the one who first got excited agout Huckabee. I liked Huckabee on education and energy. I admit that after Huckabee’s “innocent” comments about Mormon theology I lost respect for Huckabee. I’m open to the idea that he made an innocent mistake, but the line was a standard from all anti-mormon literature. So I have a hard time believing he didn’t know it was an attack on my faith. And he did it during the run-up to the Iowa caucus.
Anyway, as much as I like certain things about Huckabee, its hard to support someone who I believe used hatred against my faith as a political tool. I am squarely for Romney at this point - and I admit that my reasons are somewhat personal.
My Baptist friend is now squarely behind Romney for different reasons. He can’t stand McCain and he realizes that Huckabee is a lost cause.
We need to unite behind the strongest conservative candidate. Huckabee supporters need to out asside their hatred of Romney and realize that Romney is the candidate who stands for the same values that Huckabee stands for.
If you’re a Huckabee supporter, why are you all attacking Romney instead of McCain? Because Huckabee has a personal gripe against Romney? Fine, vote for Huckabee, but stop ripping on Romney. He will uphold your values better than McCain.
Huckabee went after Romney because Romney was his main rival in Iowa. But let it go - Iowa is over. But we’re about to hand McCain the nomination.
Why didn’t Lincoln hit the battle field in the Civil War? Why didn’t Reagan hit the front lines instead of getting that media job during WWII?
These were great presidents. Military service is something to be proud of and patriots volunteer or go when they are called. But it isn’t a litmus test to be a great leader, and questioning Romney’s patriotism is both scurilous and misguided. US Grant was a terrible president.
It’s dangerous to just take an old war hero and claim that qualifies him to lead this country. The job being voted upon is running and leading a massive government as an executive. McCain’s a life long legislator who has never run any government agency. He has neither the tempermant nor the educational credentials to lead the federal government move into the greatest challenge against China and Asia in the new global high tech economy. McCain is the ancient face of the failed policy of the past, and so his Hillary Clinton. Romney is the face of the future that will clearly contrast a true conservative on the issues against Obama, the new face, or Hillary, the old face, who represent socialized medicine and entitlements that will continue the ruin this country in the face of emerging economic powers of China and Asia. Reagan won the cold war with tax cuts and investments in a strong defense. Romney is a brilliant mind who has netted over 300 million dollars in a free enterprise system shackled with government entitlements. He doesn’t need to go into government service, and using his own money is good thing, instead of McCain and Huckabee who will owe large debts to those that financed their campaigns. Petty and misguided carping a
