McCain Spends Super Sunday on Mitt’s Turf

John McCain made a public show of watching the Super Bowl on Mitt Romney’s territory Sunday night.

The Senator relaxed in the lounge of a downtown Boston hotel with his friends Senator Joe Lieberman, Senator Lindsay Graham, and former Senator Phil Gramm. They ordered sliders, barbecue chicken pizza and chocolate chip cookies, and mingled with the traveling press.

Earlier, McCain stopped by an Irish bar to greet Patriots’ fans who had gathered to cheer on their home team. It was clearly a photo-op designed to reinforce the message that the Senator is in town, while the former governor of Massachusetts was nowhere to be found.

1) THE REAL MCCAIN (Video: 3 short clips combined, totaling 5 minutes) http://www.therealmccain.com/

2) McCain was in serious talks — for two months — with Democrats about abandoning the GOP in 2001.

Mike Huckabee hasn’t won a primary since Iowa and is falling further behind in each race and poll. It is becoming obvious that he is just staying in the race to prevent Mitt Romney from beating McCain. Without him Romney would be winning most of the 22 States in the upcoming Tuesday contest. A vote for Huckabee takes a vote from Romney and benefits only McCain because most of Huckabee’s supporters would favor Romney.

Now the media successfully fragmented the Republican vote and pumped their favorite (and our enemy) RINO McCain. It’s a win win for the Liberal Socialists who are in the process of hijacking the Republican Party AND the country.

Here’s a link to an article that really exposes John McCain for who he is:
http://www.alipac.us/article2920.html

Put some links in your emails to this ad from Citizen’s United: http://media.citizensunited.org/Surprisingly.htm. It’s a killer for McCain.

There is still time to give Romney enough of a push to keep the race competitive after Tuesday. The power of the internet is incredible. Please make use of it! Email ANY and EVERYONE you know who will be voting on Tuesday and let them know just how disastrous it would be to vote for McCain. Educate them as to why and turn them on to Mitt Romney.

I’ve met him on several occasions and was at the MA Rep. convention when we nominated him for Governor there. Tell them to get on the Romney bandwagon and help the guy out at: http://www.mittromney.com.

Besides emails, you can make phone calls AND write/submit letters to editors online and at major metropolitan newspapers http://www.newslink.org/news.html around the country.

HELP STOP RINO JOHN MCCAIN AND HIS SECRET PARTNER, HUCKABEE!!

You have to hand it to McCain. He is a pretty good actor and a hero in the past tense. But what this nation now requires is somebody of real forward-looking substance. The political areana gauntlet through which this nation gives birth to presidential candidtes each 4 years does not always necessarily serve the nation well. Right now we are witnessing John McCain pass himself off as worthy of the conservative vote and get us to forget about his actual voting record and just join in the self congratulatory media wave that he has been riding.

But now its time to stop and think if this is really what we want. You know Hillary and Bill will clean his 71 year old clock. What the polls say now is not what they will say in Nov. This nation is facing more than a dozen challenges to its economic wellfare and position in the world–challenges that go far beyond anything we can expect out of the politics-as-usual crowd that are standing on Mitt Romney’s toes attampting to obscure his true identity as the next leader of the free world and a Presidency we can all be proud of again.

Wake up! Vote Mitt.

McCain shouldn’t be so confident. Romney is actually doing very well and is on the rise in important states like California. With delegates Romney has and as polls are predicting he has a majority in enough states to prevent McCain from getting the delegates he must have to be the candidate. Romney also could still win outright. I would like to have a forced media silence for a week before there is a national primary election and let the people study and vote. It is insane to let the Media bandwagon (everyone is voting for so and so so you should too) determine who is elected.

If you saw the same debate I did in California I saw a shriveled old man with hatred and venom continually lying even when no one in the room believed he was correct–nasty and conniving wit his infamous foul temper barely under control. I don’t want him anywhere near a nuclear switch. As you know, may Senators have actually questioned McAmnesty’ sanity when he flys off the handle any time he is questioned. Did you actually hear McCain start saying how he was a prisoner of war when asked about the economy? A screw’s loose somewhere in his noggin’!

Next to him sat an elegant, honest healthy and charming man who knew what he was talking about when the economy was raised.

Vote Romney for sanity in government. Vote Romney for conservatism. Vote Romney for the Economy. Vote Romney for foreign Policy! The man is brilliant and wise!

“Public Show” is right…McCain is nothing but a public spectacle.

Do we really want this media hound? no.

We need someone who actually knows more about the economy than he does. For McCain, the economy will never be bad because he has his 2nd wife’s millions to play with. Remember, he abandoned his wife and kids for his mistress and her million$.

Loyalty?

Honor?

Commitment?

McCain tried to be the Democratic Vice President with John Kerry two years ago, and now some Republicans are seriously considering it, as well?

Lord, save us all!

Comment by Minarchist

Marie, McCain campaigned for Bush in 2004… pretty strongly, too. That rumor was just that: a rumor that had very little behind it, except that Kerry would have LOVED to have a fellow vietnam vet on the ticket with him.

I love to see Senator McCain wasting time and money in a state where he doesn’t have a chance. Hey Senator, look at the latest polls. Mitt Romney has a wider margin of support in MA than you have in AZ. Maybe you should be concerned about that.

Living in AZ, I can assure you that I have yet to speak with anyone that is voting for you. Are you aware that your own county (The Maricopa County Republican Party) held a straw poll a few weeks ago and you lost to Mitt Romney. Well that’s not completely true, they held a second straw poll for “Most Unacceptable” and you did win that dubious distinction. The more people know you, the more they like Mitt Romney.

Massachusetts isn’t a winner take all primary, I don’t think. Upping his numbers there translates directly into more delegates.

Media Advisory: Mike Huckabee Announces the Endorsement of Boxing Champion Roy Jones, Jr.
February 03, 2008
Little Rock, AR - Former Arkansas Governor and Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee announced the endorsement of boxing great Roy Jones, Jr.

“Governor Huckabee is a man who knows about struggle and how to work hard for what he wants,” said Jones. “As a fellow TKE, I know he’s a man of honor and integrity.”

Jones was named “Fighter of the Decade” for the 1990s by the Boxing Writers Association of America. He was regarded as the #1 fighter in the middleweight, super middleweight, and light heavyweight classes by all leading magazines. He also won the World Boxing Association heavyweight title in his only fight in his weight class.

“I’m proud to have the support of such a dedicated athlete and champion,” Huckabee said.

Black Conservatives Rally to Urge
Mike Huckabee to Stay in Presidential Race

PRESS CONFERENCE
Monday, February 4, 2008
9:45 AM
National Press Club
529 14th Street NW, DC

Washington , D.C. — A broad coalition of black conservatives from across the country are holding a press conference to urge former Governor Mike Huckabee to stay in the presidential race for the Republican nomination until the Convention.

“Governor Huckabee should not be intimidated to stop his bid for the republican nomination,” states Don Scoggins, veteran GOP activist and among other conservatives hosting the press conference. “The momentum of the grassroots that propelled this party into victory is behind Mike and will not stop fighting for him regardless of his bank account,” also states Scoggins, president of Republicans for Black Empowerment, a DC based national grassroots organization.

The concern of the group is the pressure that is mounting by Republican talking heads to push Governor Huckabee out of the race. The consensus is that Huckabee’s campaign was deliberately sabotaged by Fred Thompson in South Carolina to hone out a two man race between McCain and Romney in Florida. Polls still show Huckabee leading in many southern states, and competitive in others even with limited resources.

“Inside-the-beltway Republicans have lost touch with the increasing seriousness with which Heartland conservatives relate to the traditional values agenda,” states Star Parker, a nationally syndicated columnist and conservative activist. “More and more folks are feeling personally assaulted by the meaninglessness that is gripping our culture and believe that Mike Huckabee is the only Republican candidate that embodies the moral clarity of the GOP ideals. The groundswell generating support for Huckabee’s candidacy understand that moral and economic health go hand in hand and should not be underestimated.”

Numerous African American conservatives, many also veteran Republican Party activists, are scheduled to speak at the one hour press conference.

So Romney thinks that Huckabee is splitting his side of the vote? Apparently Hannity, Rushbo, Coulter, Ingraham, and others believe this too by their constant blabbing over the last couple days. My question is this:

How is Mike Huckabee stealing Romney votes if Mike Huckabee is such a Liberal according to Romney and all the Elites? All I have heard over the last 4 months is how Liberal Mike Huckabee is but now all of a sudden he is stealing the Conservative vote from Romney. Give me a break!

One need only to look at the 3 people left in the race and compare their education.

If I’m not mistaken, one studied religion for a couple of years, one studied a couple of years in the military and did very poorly at that. One graduated in the top 15% of his class while taking a double major in law and business from Harvard.

Come on people, two of these guys could barely get a decent job in the real world and you want to make them President of your great country? Time to give your head a shake, or you will deserve what you get.

Romney would stomp either Hillary or Obama in any debate that is held, just like he has in the Republican debates…. He is just smarter and more credible.

Romney also could still win outright.<<<

Well unlike the Super Bowl every candidate has to show confidence. No one is going to vote for a guy who says “yeah I’m gonna get destroyed tomorrow” so they all have to show that certainty. Even Mitt is doing it and he really knows he’s in deep trouble. Yes it’s possible hee could still win outright but it’s HIGHLY unlikely. It looks like he is making a strong surge in California but when it’s all said and done I am not sure how important California will be. It just depends on how they give out their delegates. Most states do proportional representation which means if Romney wins the state with say 42% to McCains 38%, Romney will only gain 7 delegates on McCain. If they are a threshold state (proportional representation unless a 50% threshold is met then it becomes winner take all) then it becomes significantly more important ASSUMING Romney can pull 50%.

It’s the “winner take all” states that are the big crown jewels. New York, Arizona, Connecticut, Missouri, New Jersey, Utah, Montana, and Delaware. Romney is projected to only get Montana and Utah for 61 delegates. McCain’s cut from that group is 312. Plus McCain holds modest to strong leads in the proportional states of Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, Minnesota, and Oklahoma to Romney’s leads in California, Colorado, and Massachussets. (No current data available for West Virginia, Alaska, or North Dakota and Huckabee will take Askansas). When it’s all said and done McCain should be real close to 700 delegates to Romney’s 400 (or thereabouts including what they have now). With 1,073 delegates remaining Romney would need to score 74% of them to win the nomination. Possible? Yes. Likely? Not very. Romney has one day…TODAY…to make a major surge or he’s finished.

Comment by Scott

By the way…I just checked. California is a district winner take all and winner take all for at large and bonus delegates (11 total). So whoever wins the state as a whole will get the 11 at large and bonus delegates and then delegates will be assigned according to won each district. So essentially you have a ton of mini-elections for each delegate according to their location geographically. Usually that means a moderate swing of delegates compared to strict proportional representation like Massachussets for example. So it could actually end up being a pretty solid swing for Romney depending on how the districts end up.

Here’s the ugly truth about McCain’s record:

-IMMIGRATION: he wrote the bill granting amnesty to illegal immigrants (co-sponsored by Ted Kennedy)
-SOCIAL SECURITY: he voted to give your social security money to illegal immigrants
-TAXES: he voted against the Bush tax cuts multiple times (he has since flip-flopped and has campaigned as a lifelong tax-cutter)
-RHETORIC: he routinely engages in Democratic class warfare against big companies in America, particularly the “evil” drug companies who research cures to debilitating diseases for a profit
-ECONOMY: as recently as December 2007 he admitted “he does not know the economy very well” and needed to get better at it
-1ST AMENDMENT: he wrote the McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill that was declared to be an unconstitutional infringement of the 1st Amendment (co-sponsored by ultra-liberal Democrat Russ Feingold)
-2ND AMENDMENT: he was called the “worst 2nd amendment candidate” by the president of the NRA
-EQUAL PROTECTION: lifelong supporter of affirmative action
-ENERGY TAX: wrote a bill (co-sponsored by his buddy Lieberman) imposing a massive tax on energy which, according to the Department of Energy, would drastically raise the price of gasoline and put 300,000 Americans out of work
-GLOBAL WARMING: supports radical global warming legislation which involved him voting with every Democrat; think only America is responsible to take action, not other superpowers
-JUDGES: he joined forces with Democrats (Gang of 14) to block the Senate Republican’s attempt to confirm conservative, strict constructionist judges; also said Alito was too conservative for his liking
-WAR ON TERROR: fought with Hillary Clinton to demand that terrorists be given a full American trial
-GAY MARRIAGE: he joined liberals to fight against a federal marriage amendment supporting the institution of traditional marriage
-CHRISTIANS: campaigning in 2000, he famously described Christian leaders as “agents of intolerance”
-PRO-LIFE: he filed an amicus brief against pro-life advocates in Wisconsin
-BI-PARTISANSHIP: he met with leading Democrats in 2004 to discuss the possibility of being John Kerry’s Vice-President; publicly considered leaving the Republican Party in 2001 after he lost the primary
-INTELLECT: finished 894 out of 899 in his class in the Naval Academy.
-PROFESSIONAL ETHICS: ringleader of the infamous Keating 5 ethical scandal which cost US tax payers $160 billion (Google it)
-PERSONAL ETHICS: McCain cheated on his first wife after she had a severe accident that left her partially disabled. He then divorced her and married his multi-millionaire mistress, whose daddy bought McCain a spot in the Congress

The answer is simple, Huckabee panders to the religious right over his social conservative stances. In reality that is where his “conservativism” starts and ends. He has little else to offer but the fact that he is evangelical and that he has those social conservative stances is enough to sway a lot of would be Romney voters to him. Thus he stops Romney and delivers the election to Juan McShamnesty. Conservatives wake up! Huckabee is the Trojan Horse with McCain hiding inside. Huckabee has no money or organization and has yet to go after McCain on anything. He praises John McCain just about every chance he gets (so much so that McCain made an ad with Huckabee’s praises) and seems completely oblivious to anybody but Romney. We need to rally to Romney to stop the liberal in conservatives clothing McCain from getting the nomination.

Rally to Romney!

HUNTER CALLS ON ROMNEY TO OPPOSE BAIN PARTNERSHIP WITH CHINESE COMPANY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 2, 2007
CONTACT: Gary Becks (619) 334-1655, dlhunter08@yahoo.com

San Diego, CA - - - Presidential candidate and current Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Duncan Hunter, today called on former Governor Mitt Romney to send a “clear statement” to the leadership of the company he founded, Bain Capital, to terminate a proposed business deal with a controversial Chinese corporation seeking to acquire U.S. defense contractor 3COM. Bain Capital is attempting to form a business arrangement with Huawei Corporation, a Chinese corporation founded by an officer of the Peoples Liberation Army of Communist China, which faces allegations of assisting Saddam Hussein in the targeting of U.S. aircraft and in helping the Taliban develop surveillance equipment.

“I am extremely concerned that Governor Romney’s company would tout a highly suspect Chinese corporation as a strategic partner,” stated Hunter. “Forming a business partnership with a corporation known to have direct ties with terrorists and dictators while, at the same time, openly seeking to acquire a major U.S. corporation that performs vital cyber security work for the Department of Defense, can only be characterized as irresponsible.”

A resolution has been introduced in Congress, H.Res. 730, which states; “The preponderance of publicly available evidence clearly suggests that as currently structured, the proposed transaction involving Huawei threatens the national security of the United States and should not be approved by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States .” A copy of this resolution is provided.

Hunter stated in his letter to Governor Romney, “…while it is true that you no longer control Bain Capital, the contributions you have received from its principals as its founding member indicate that your influence within the company remains strong.

“Further, while the Committee on Foreign Investment has yet to rule on the Huawei transaction, this corporation’s connection to Saddam Hussein, the Taliban and the Army of Communist China should clearly disqualify them from becoming, in the words of your former company, “a strategic partner” in acquiring a U.S. firm such as 3COM, which performs vital cyber-security work for the U.S. Department of Defense.

“This letter is a request that you immediately issue a statement of policy that this transaction should be terminated on the grounds of national security. Please let me know what you intend to do.”

A copy of Congressman Hunter’s letter, as well as two articles regarding Huawei acquisition efforts are provided. Media are encouraged to contact Gary Becks at (619) 334-1655 for additional information or to arrange an interview with Hunter.

Remember, Romney is the one who supported Gay Scout Leaders in the Boy Scouts, promoted and even advanced homosexual teaching in MA public schools, promoted Gay Marriage in MA, passed MA healthcare which provides $50 abortions, and as governor was voted the 8th most liberal Republican in America, etc.

Have all these so-called radio conservatives and others like Hugh Hewitt and National Review lost their minds? The sad thing is many conservatives listen to these fools. You have to ask yourself why do they promote conservative principles and yet support a Liberal MA Governor?

They call Mike a spoiler. No, they have been the spoilers and attacked Mike from the beginning, and everyone knows it. They have lost the ability to speak the truth, and only fools will listen. If these jokers keep promoting this hollow and lukewarm form of conservatism, then the conservative movement is finished and so is America.

No, my vote won’t be for McCain. I’ll be voting for Mike Huckabee. Right now I consider a vote for Huckabee to be a vote for the FairTax. It’s a vote we probably won’t be able to cast later down the road … so now’s the time. I don’t tell others how to vote … but a strong showing by Huckabee in Georgia and other Super Stupendous Duper Tuesday would keep the FairTax out there, big time. We could cap off those strong Huckabee showings with the debut of “FairTax, The Truth: Answering the Critics” one week from tomorrow.

This morning “FairTax, The Truth” was Number 22 on Amazon.com. Other than votes for Huckabee … I can think of no better way to tell the media and Washington establishment that the people of this country want this tax reform, and want it sooner rather than later, than to give this book a push to a high debut on the bestseller’s lists. Since even McCain supporters are embarrassed by his liberal bills, liberal friends and thoroughly liberal record in the Senate, they often resort to saying, “he’s a true hero”. If you consider McCain heroic b’c of his service many years ago, you must also look to what he’s done since then when deciding whether he’s “a hero”.

After he came back from the war, his 1st wife got in a bad car accident and became partially disabled. What did the HERO MCCAIN do then? He cheated on his disabled wife for a while, then he divorced her, and married the 18-yr-younger, filthy rich mistress. His mistress’ rich father bought McCain a seat in Congress. Still a HERO?

Then McCain, in an early sign of his bi-partisan instinct, became the only Republican of 5 Congressmen to get involved in the Keating 5 ethics scandal that cost the tax payers literally hundreds of millions of dollars. He was the only one of the Keating 5 who did not resign their seat after being found to have taken inappropriate actions by a bi-partisan committee. HEROIC?

The list goes well on, but my point is, you can’t just say “he was a POW” and therefore he’s a great hero. A HERO DOESN’T DITCH HIS WIFE WHEN SHE GETS IN A BAD ACCIDENT. THEY DON’T MARRY FOR MONEY AND POLITICAL ADVANCEMENT. THEY DON’T GET CAUGHT AT THE CENTER OF ONE OF THE BIGGEST ETHICS SCANDALS IN THE HISTORY OF CONGRESS.

I’m not convinced this fraud is a hero at all. He’s an old, Washington politician who has been able to con a lot of people with his military record, but he sure as heck hasn’t conned me.

The stakes are high on Super Tuesday for the republican parties’ presidential contenders, but it could not be higher for them than it is for America.
It is very important for the voter to do some homework this weekend so that we as a nation do not end up with a severe case of buyers’ remorse on Wednesday morning. We must be true to our roots and not allow the wolves in sheep’s clothing to rob us blind, and deprive us of who we are, and what we represent as a people once enlightened with the vision of Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, and George Bush.
There are wolves and they have been running a well coordinated attack, and have already taken some of our associates down. These wolves have us on the run and have begun to strategically divide us, and scatter us in preparation for the final move, the destruction of liberty. They want to chase us down the dark road too socialism. We need to rally around our core principles and adhere to them. We must ensure the safety, and success of our parties’ great but now endangered legacy. We need to rise up with a united voice and cast our vote this coming Tuesday, to the only conservative out there; that man is Mitt Romney. Vote Mitt Romney President of the United States of America in 2008.

Friends,

I hope that everyone knows how important their vote is this Tuesday. I am sharing this because Reverend Rob Schenick eloquently expressed my same concerns. As a pro life people we need to think with our head and heart. Mike Huckabee champions our cause and is charming personally, but he will not get us to where we want to be?
Fighting for Life

By way of christiannewswire.com.

The Reverend Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), in his capacity as a private citizen, today released this statement regarding tomorrow’s primary votes:
“I have spent the last 33 years as an active evangelical Christian. I am an ordained evangelical minister. I graduated from an evangelical Bible college and an evangelical seminary. I serve on the board of America’s oldest association of evangelical church leaders, and I head one of the most active evangelical ministries in Washington, DC.
“I have thought long and hard about the upcoming elections. I have prayed earnestly about them, and I have met many of the candidates and their top campaign people and I have studied their platforms and policy proposals.
“After careful and prayerful consideration, I have concluded that an evangelical vote for Mike Huckabee is a vote for John McCain, and a vote for John McCain will be a disaster for this country.
“Let me explain. It’s clear to me and many others that Mike Huckabee is not broadening his appeal enough to win the primary. Therefore, his only contribution is to siphon off votes, giving McCain a clear path to victory. It’s very possible Huckabee is being positioned to be John McCain’s pick for vice president. In order to win, McCain needs Mike Huckabee and the evangelical votes he brings with him. The specter of a McCain-Huckabee ticket is bad for evangelicals.
“McCain is proud of his signature accomplishment, the McCain-Feingold law co-authored with liberal Democrat senator Russ Feingold. McCain-Feingold severely limits the First Amendment rights of evangelicals. McCain will use this law as the litmus test for his Supreme Court nominees. If a judge is likely to be against McCain’s unconstitutional law, McCain will not nominate him. Make no mistake about it, constitutional originalist judges will be against McCain-Feingold. These same judges will also be pro-life, for traditional marriage and for the public acknowledgment of God.
“Only liberal judges will support McCain-Feingold. They will also be pro-abortion, anti-traditional marriage and against the public acknowledgement of God. So, with a McCain-Huckabee administration, or with a McCain-anyone administration, we get the wrong judges. Most distressing, we get the wrong justices on the U.S. Supreme Court.
“Evangelicals must consider both the stakes and the realities in this election. Mike Huckabee’s continuation only helps John McCain. The consequences are just too great to take this risk. A McCain victory will hurt this country because of the long-term damage of the wrong judges and justices. Worse, McCain’s court legacy will continue to hurt our children and our grandchildren, perhaps even our great grandchildren.
“Evangelicals must choose wisely from among candidates other than Mike Huckabee and John McCain as they vote tomorrow, February 5.”

To Minarchist:

It is well documented that McCain and his “people” approached John Kerry about being his running mate in ‘04. Kerry declined.

This further proves McCain’s thirst for power. He’ll do anything to get it…even betray his own party.

I think Romney really summed it up when he described the past as a checker game (red against black, commies against us) but now we are playing three dimensional chess and we do need someone who has the brainpower, energy and experience who can handle it.

We have also been bogged down by presidents who cannot multi task, they have either focused soley on foreign issues while letting the social issues deteriorate or the other way around. It’s really time we got someone in there like Romney to clean this mess up and lead us into a brighter, prosperous, fairer and more peaceful future. A lot of people are just playing games with this election like they do with their lives, they are the kind who always blame their self made problems on everyone else, so what else is new?

McCain had his chance and he is actually worse than Clinton, if you care about family values. At least Clinton came home and did not try to run for office with Monica on his arm.

Duncan Hunter is against free trade and does not care how many America jobs are lost. Manufacturers who sell overseas are the only ones doing well and growing right now. Instead of stopping free trade, Romney will rewrite those trade deals so they are fairer to Americans and help make conditions more suitable for more manufacturers to stay here instead of moving to Europe or China. It is not just about jobs, it’s a national security issue. Romney knows what he’s doing, Hunter has no experience in the business world. Sorry, I like the man and respect his service, but he’s wrong on this issue.

If Hunter is supporting Huckabee, it must be because Huckabee is against free trade, too, or he would never have gone in that direction. Something to think about.

Okay, maybe I’m committing professional suicide.

I’m putting principle above what they’re calling “party loyalty” these days. I’m putting inalienable rights endowed by our Creator above my friendships with other conservatives in the media. I’m putting real constitutions above the celebrity “conservative” lawyers who long ago figured out that defending the actual meaning of constitutions is no way to get ahead in the world.

If I disappear you can send letters to the gulag where they send real conservatives and constitutionalists who point to conservative emperors who have no clothes. Here goes.

I have made the decision to vote for Governor Mike Huckabee on the basis of research into actual records — rather than empty campaign double-talk. Alone among the frontrunners, his record is conservative on the most fundamental issues. I will go even further: examining records proves that when $100 million dollars of GOP campaign propaganda is set aside, Mike Huckabee is the only real across-the-board (social and fiscal) conservative among the three front runners.

Mitt Romney is not only not a conservative on any issue, he’s not even on the left-right spectrum. He has no beliefs. No principles. No backbone. No soul. He is a soulless creature who will do and say anything to get elected.

McCain is somewhere in the middle. He has disappointed me, and many other conservatives, many times (McCain-Feingold and McCain-Kennedy chief among them). If he becomes the GOP nominee I will support him.

I will not under any circumstances vote for Mitt Romney. Ever.

Here is why I support Mike Huckabee:

Abortion: First and foremost, I am voting for Huckabee because he is the only leading candidate who supports the core of the GOP plank - the Human Life Amendment. Mitt Romney openly opposes it. McCain has voted “pro-life” but voting is as far as he will go. He recoils from paying any price politically or personally to end the holocaust happening daily around the corner from your house. When pro-life conservatives were trying to replace career pro-abort Sandra Day O’Connor on the Supreme Court, McCain called Justice Samuel Alito “too conservative.”

We will never be safe and secure from either foreign or domestic enemies until we stop the barbaric, inhumane practice of abortion which has liquidated almost 50 million babies since Roe v Wade. I agree with those who examine providential events in American history and conclude that God has protected this nation at crucial times. If you are even open to that possibility, wouldn’t you have to agree that 50 million seems like a lot of babies to kill and still hope God will protect America? Isn’t that hypocritical of us? Outlawing abortion at the federal level is not a secondary issue. It’s Issue Numero Uno. It’s a no-brainer. Mike Huckabee deserves every vote in America for understanding that alone.

Senator McCain is not in favor of amending our constitution to ensure that, regardless of what state a baby is born into, he or she is guaranteed the legal right to life. How puzzling to claim to believe in the inalienable right to life and liberty yet assert that “federalism” or “states’ rights” somehow grant states a power to take innocent life. In 1860 that position was not the abolitionist position. It was the pro-slavery position. Today it is neither constitutional nor conservative. It’s just theoretically halfway between good and evil. And it won’t end the harvest of death and take the blood off our hands.

Mitt Romney is the Founding Father of government-subsidized, $50 abortion-on-demand in Massachusetts. Laws don’t get any more pro-abortion than Mitt Romney’s Orwellian health care plan…unless you go to Communist China. Even the Communist Democrats in Boston couldn’t pull that off. He is not merely “weak” or unconvincing on this issue. He’s an amoral pro-abort masquerading as a convert to the view that human life is sacred. Other than that he’s indistinguishable from Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton (both of whom have gleefully endorsed the Romney-Kennedy-Planned Parenthood healthcare plan). Enough said? He claims he was required by law to sign this healthcare bill that established abortion with a $50 co-pay as a “healthcare benefit.” That is an insult to our intelligence and a pre-meditated lie. There is no Massachusetts’ law that requires subsidized abortion on demand. Romney also appointed a Planned Parenthood member to his healthcare advisory board and no pro-life member. Pro-life governors don’t do that. This alone puts him on the pro-abortion extreme of the spectrum — for Democrats, let alone Republicans.

Marriage: Unlike McCain who worked hard to defeat a Federal Marriage Amendment (FMA), Huckabee strongly supports a FMA and understands what is at stake for America, our children and grandchildren if we fail to enshrine into law that marriage is between one man and one woman. Although Governor Romney has recently staked out a position claiming to support traditional marriage, he speaks as the opportunistic politician who unilaterally imposed “same sex marriage” in Massachusetts after the law-making body that has exclusive authority to do so, refused to grant the Goodridge judges their fantasy. He did this revolutionary act — unbidden by even the judges — claiming he was just “following the law.” A lie, pure and simple, powerfully refuted by the state Constitution itself.

As many constitutional experts have tried in vain to warn the conservative elites, there is no law that allows “same sex marriage” in Massachusetts. It’s still illegal. The court merely issued a surreal and legally impotent declaratory opinion that barring same sex marriage was unconstitutional. Romney even opposed efforts to remove the judges who violated their oaths of office by ignoring the state constitution’s removal of court jurisdiction to even hear such a case. In September of 2007 we finally learned the explanation for Romney’s mysterious actions: he was carrying out a 2002 campaign promise to the homosexual “Log Cabin” Republicans.

Immigration: Although Governor Huckabee has been called the “amnesty” candidate, he has never supported “amnesty.” He is in favor of securing the border and has taken the “No Amnesty Pledge.” He has received the endorsements from Congressman Duncan Hunter and Jim Gilchrist founder of the Minuteman Project. Senator McCain was the co-author of the McCain-Kennedy-Bush “comprehensive immigration” bill that was ultimately defeated. But he now supports securing the border first. Governor Romney supported McCain-Kennedy-Bush as well and now, like McCain, claims to support securing the border first. Neither has that much credibility with me when it comes to this issue. Although I tend to trust McCain more given “Multiple Choice Mitt’s” penchant for surreal flip flops.

Foreign Policy/National Security: Governor Huckabee has the most executive experience of any candidate in either party - three or four times what Mitt Romney has, considering Romney spent so much time outside his state (212 days in his last year in office).

With nearly eleven years running a state, Governor Huckabee is by far the best qualified to manage a huge, bloated bureaucracy. He supports increasing defense expenditures from our current 3.9% of GDP level to the Reagan Era 6% of GDP level and the “Powell Doctrine” of using overwhelming force. Senator McCain lacks the executive experience but does have the actual military and government experience and is no doubt well qualified to lead the War on Islamic Jihadism. By supporting the surge even when it was not politically popular, McCain showed that he is willing to do the right thing regardless of the polls. Governor Romney is the least qualified of the three. Romney’s chief counterterrorism expert Cofer Black was condemned by the 9-11 Commission, Congressional Joint Inquiry, and the CIA Inspector General for his mismanagement of the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center as contributing factors in the 9-11 attacks. This should be a major concern for voters.

2nd Amendment: Huckabee has always been a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment. McCain has more of a mixed record on gun control laws. Romney is by far the most pro-gun control anti-2nd Amendment candidate. He has always supported the Brady Bill and the so called “Assault Weapons Ban” both of which are opposed by the NRA. As governor he boasted about having signed into law some of the strictest gun control laws in the country.

Taxes and Spending: Huckabee is, by far, the most fiscally conservative of the three. As governor he cut taxes almost 100 times and left Arkansas with an $850 million surplus. While I have some questions about his proposed” Fair Tax” which is a flat consumption based tax that would replace our federal income tax, it is by far the most aggressive fiscal proposal put forth by any candidate. While Senator McCain did oppose the Bush Tax Cuts (b/c they didn’t include enough spending cuts), he now supports making them permanent. And nobody doubts his anti-pork spending bona fides. Romney, as governor, raised taxes by over $500 million dollars. (He called them fees) leaving the Commonwealth in financial turmoil. His government run socialist healthcare plan he claimed as his signature achievement has been exposed as a catastrophe in the making. And although he derides McCain for not supporting the Bush Tax Cuts, Romney himself didn’t support them either.

Special Rights for Homosexuals: Huckabee has always been opposed to same-sex “marriage” and any special rights based on sexual orientation. McCain has more of a mixed record as the lone GOP senator to oppose a federal marriage amendment. Romney boosted funding for pro-homosexuality indoctrination in schools, pushed gay adoption, falsely pretending that a law forced him to, and has been the more aggressive in catering to the homosexual militants than most liberal Democrats. He argued in 1994 that he could get more accomplished for the gay agenda than Ted Kennedy and made similar promises when running for governor in 2002. He called a 2002 Massachusetts protection of marriage amendment “too extreme” and is solely responsible for illegally instituting “same sex marriage” in the Cradle of Democracy. He also supports homosexual Boy Scout leaders and homosexuals serving openly in the military.

Open borders McCain still insist that his immigration reform will be the rule and not the exception. Drivers license for Illegals. Why can’t mc get off his high horse, red the tea leaves and work for the will of the people who spoke last summer on this issue.. Sorry senator but securing the boder is not the only issure..U need to repudiate Amnesty while not leaving the back door open to La Raza and their illegal demands upon this society and punish employers for their hiring practices. I cant hear you saying no to Amnesty and drivers license for illegals.
Mitt for responsible economics and immigration…

It is amazing to me after reading through these posts to see the amount of creedence that you people place at the throne of Rush. Guys he is an ENTERTAINER, just like any other Entertainer who makes his money by stirring the pot and he doesn’t care which pot it is as long as it induces lots of listeners which drives ad revenue. He is certainly not in any postion to comment on anyones ethics or conservative bent ( drug arrests, rehab, broken marriage) come on you are all smarter than that aren’t you? I also continue to be amazed by the pas you are all willing to give Romney on his Blackwater connection. Do you really want his chief advisor on terror to be the #2 (J. Cofer Black) at a for hire mercenary group who is currently recruiting paramilitary operators from both Columbia and the Phillipines because they are a bargain compared to american special forces hires. Please vote for who you will but do some research into your postions and comments and listening to Rush, Hannity or some other commentator doesn’t qualify. Try reading and not using Youtube videos to form your ideas. Remember before you speak people may think you are idiots but opening your mouths and spewing volumes of **it as you are given to do takes away all doubt.

What is with this country. We think we are so enlightened but we are so bigoted that 43% of us will never vote for a Mormon.
We will vote for a man who has had an extra-marital affair with a woman 17 years his junior (McCain). A man who found it “interesting” that his ancestor owned 52 slaves after all, it was “legal as a loaf of bread” (McCain). We’ll vote for a man who was up to his neck in the Keating scandal (McCain) but never a Mormon.
I want out.
As a conservative, I have no one left to vote for.

Hey David in Nevada,

Lets try some economic math real quick. The Labor Department says that fully 5% of the jobs in the US are held by illegals of one type or another. The current national unemployment rate is just under 6%. If we can deport (big if but we can save the logistics model for another time) all of the 5% and replace them immediately with the 6% that we show as unemployed we will be at a net 1% unemployment right. Sounds good but wait, the jobs that the illegals are doing are by all accounts are paid at less than market. Assuming that the employers must pay higher wages plus the cost of training and disruption I think the answer is wage inflation which equates to high consumer prices and yes you guessed it higher interest rates. Sounds like a bargain so far and before you tout the costs of healthcare for illegals consider the people taking their place are just as uninsured as they are. You see Davey boy we conservatives have been burning the candle at both ends and now we want to have our cake and eat it too. Never works. I would rather get control of the border round ‘em u, fine 6K plus back taxes and keep our consumer price index under control. After all if we want the best of both worlds you have got to swallow hard and leave with a plan that keeps ‘em here under control or prepare to pay the costs in your daily life. Last thing try this calculation on the logistices side real quick. 12,000,000 times $10,000.00, that the cost per head minimum to round them up and deport them. Big number!

That has to be one of the most arrogant moves I’ve seen in politics. The man is fighting for the lead in several states, but decides to go to Mitt’s home state where Romney enjoys a healthy 20-30% lead. WOW.

He would rather lose CA for the satisfaction of playing hardball with Romney.

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=60022

“Mitt Romney pushed through same-sex marriage all by himself, in the absence of any authority or requirement to do so, having a complete misunderstanding of his role as governor and of the significance of the court’s opinion,” said Keyes.

“The court never ordered him to act, nor did he have the right to act, since the legislature never changed the law. Romney claimed he had no other choice, but that’s completely untrue.”

Romney said;

“I promised that if elected, I’d call a truce - a moratorium, if you will…I vowed to veto any legislation that sought to change the existing rules…I fully respect and will fully protect a woman’s right to choose.”
