Romney’s Patriots Get the Silver
Nashville, TN—
Think it’s impossible for there to be more heartbreak for the Romney campaign? Well, tonight they got some more –the New England Patriots losing by 3 in the final moments of the Super Bowl.
The former Massachusetts governor got some ribbing earlier today for missing most of the Super Bowl because of travel from St. Louis to Nashville. But, we dashed into the hotel to catch the last moments of the game. Romney’s close friend and advisor, Bob White handed out Patriot hats to the staff and press as we ran into the bar of the Hilton Garden Inn.
We were able catch the Giants upset of the Patriots with a final play by Eli Manning. White stayed hopeful telling the governor, “There’s still plenty of time.” With the seconds dwindling Romney chuckled, “I think it’s looking a bit tight here. I think we better start getting nervous.”
A reporter asked Romney if it could be compared to his campaign. Romney quipped, “No metaphor, no metaphor.”
Before things started to go sour for his home team he engaged in a bit of trash talk with two New York Giants fans there, both from New York newspapers. Mike Luo from the New York Times looked for the one Giants hat and the New York Daily News’ Celeste Katz shouted out, “Maybe you should warm it up!” Luo called his wife when the Giants scored to make sure she was watching, “This is one of the greatest moments in sports history and I’m watching it with Mitt Romney!”
Romney mentioned earlier today that he sent Tom Brady an e mail yesterday, “I e mailed him- sent him an e mail saying good luck and he emailed back just a friendly personal hi.” He also called Brady a friend, but no word if he will call to express his condolences.
Several members of the Romney press corps hail from Boston, but it was CBS News’ Scott Conroy who summed it up best: “Well, we got the silver.”

Mitt Romney will win a Super Tuesday. It aint over till its over. I was really cheering for the Pats for one reason only. That is for junior Seau to get his ring before he retires. I feel bad for the guy he put his heart into the game all this years. At least we still have Super Tuesday Vote for Mitt Romney!!! And if your a Democrat Vote for Obama.
Fortunatly Mitt will go on to win the Gold for Boston.
They lost by 3.
Chin up, New England Patriot fans ; being perfect requires more sacrifice than the average human being is able to make.
Here’s the ugly truth about McCain’s record:
-IMMIGRATION: he wrote the bill granting amnesty to illegal immigrants (co-sponsored by Ted Kennedy)
-SOCIAL SECURITY: he voted to give your social security money to illegal immigrants
-TAXES: he voted against the Bush tax cuts multiple times (he has since flip-flopped and has campaigned as a lifelong tax-cutter)
-RHETORIC: he routinely engages in Democratic class warfare against big companies in America, particularly the “evil” drug companies who research cures to debilitating diseases for a profit
-ECONOMY: as recently as December 2007 he admitted “he does not know the economy very well” and needed to get better at it
-1ST AMENDMENT: he wrote the McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill that was declared to be an unconstitutional infringement of the 1st Amendment (co-sponsored by ultra-liberal Democrat Russ Feingold)
-2ND AMENDMENT: he was called the “worst 2nd amendment candidate” by the president of the NRA
-EQUAL PROTECTION: lifelong supporter of affirmative action
-ENERGY TAX: wrote a bill (co-sponsored by his buddy Lieberman) imposing a massive tax on energy which, according to the Department of Energy, would drastically raise the price of gasoline and put 300,000 Americans out of work
-GLOBAL WARMING: supports radical global warming legislation which involved him voting with every Democrat; think only America is responsible to take action, not other superpowers
-JUDGES: he joined forces with Democrats (Gang of 14) to block the Senate Republican’s attempt to confirm conservative, strict constructionist judges; also said Alito was too conservative for his liking
-WAR ON TERROR: fought with Hillary Clinton to demand that terrorists be given a full American trial
-GAY MARRIAGE: he joined liberals to fight against a federal marriage amendment supporting the institution of traditional marriage
-CHRISTIANS: campaigning in 2000, he famously described Christian leaders as “agents of intolerance”
-PRO-LIFE: he filed an amicus brief against pro-life advocates in Wisconsin
-BI-PARTISANSHIP: he met with leading Democrats in 2004 to discuss the possibility of being John Kerry’s Vice-President; publicly considered leaving the Republican Party in 2001 after he lost the primary
-INTELLECT: finished 894 out of 899 in his class in the Naval Academy.
-PROFESSIONAL ETHICS: ringleader of the infamous Keating 5 ethical scandal which cost US tax payers $160 billion (Google it)
-PERSONAL ETHICS: McCain cheated on his first wife after she had a severe accident that left her partially disabled. He then divorced her and married his multi-millionaire mistress, whose daddy bought McCain a spot in the Congress
Geography and the candidates team preference aside; in this football analogy scenerio Romney’s campaign isn’t the Patriots, Romney’s campaign is the underdog like the Giants.
The odds makers had the Patriots winning over the Giants in the Super Bowl by a double digits…12 points I think. The national polls have McCain ahead of Romney by double digits as well.
Anyway, FOX news is increasingly sounding like they are cornating McCain the GOP winner with all this fluff. Well McCain hasn’t won this thing yet, not by a long shot if you look at the votes that have been cast.
Last I looked 1.2 million people have voted for McCain and 1.1 million have voted for Romney, which doesn’t include the Maine numbers. After the Maine caucus, McCain has 97 delegates and Romney has 95.
Romney could do very well on Super Tuesday. I hope he does, because I think Mitt will make a great POTUS. He is the most intelligent candidate running for president.
I COULD NEVER VOTE FOR MIKE HUCKABEE DUE TO WHAT I’VE LEARNED ABOUT HIM!
Many would question whether Mike Huckabee is a true conservative; I would question whether he is even a true CHRISTIAN! For an ex-Baptist preacher, the man sure has a potty mouth! Re: where to put the flag pole if anyone disagreed with his position on the Confederate flag, and also considering the risqué music/song lyrics used by Huckabee and his band, Capitol Offense. Imagine the pastor of your church singing H*y Tonk Woman or Devil With a Blue Dress (song lyrics would be offensive to many) (www.irdial.com/blogdial/?p=909).
Huckabee has a history of corruption and lack of ethics and is one of two republican presidential candidates on the list of TOP TEN MOST CORRUPT POLITICIANS of 2007 (www.judicialwatch.org). One example, after being married for 30 years, Huckabee set up a WEDDING registry at Target for him and his wife to receive gifts for their house. The wedding registry was a way to avoid ethics laws prohibiting gifts to politicians.
Huckabee has also spawned a son who stoned and hung a dog to death. David was fired as a Boy Scout’s counselor for disobeying the “Be Kind” rule. Daddy Huck hindered the police investigation of David for animal cruelty. This should bring pause to anyone thinking of voting for Huckabee. Family animal cruelty issues often times indicate other problems as well.
His personality is described at Wikipedia as petty, thin-skinned, self-righteous, and somewhat vindictive (www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Huckabee).
He could never win in a general election. Imagine his Confederate flag flap being played over and over in the Dem’s TV ads. And he wants to amend the Constitution to ban abortions and gay marriage. This would alienate too many moderates and independents. If we vote for Huckabee we WILL BE WASTING OUR VOTE!
We need FIX IT MITT ! Please vote for the wise choice!

Media Advisory: Mike Huckabee Announces the Endorsement of Boxing Champion Roy Jones, Jr.
February 03, 2008
Little Rock, AR - Former Arkansas Governor and Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee announced the endorsement of boxing great Roy Jones, Jr.
“Governor Huckabee is a man who knows about struggle and how to work hard for what he wants,” said Jones. “As a fellow TKE, I know he’s a man of honor and integrity.”
Jones was named “Fighter of the Decade” for the 1990s by the Boxing Writers Association of America. He was regarded as the #1 fighter in the middleweight, super middleweight, and light heavyweight classes by all leading magazines. He also won the World Boxing Association heavyweight title in his only fight in his weight class.
“I’m proud to have the support of such a dedicated athlete and champion,” Huckabee said.
So Romney thinks that Huckabee is splitting his side of the vote? Apparently Hannity, Rushbo, Coulter, Ingraham, and others believe this too by their constant blabbing over the last couple days. My question is this:
How is Mike Huckabee stealing Romney votes if Mike Huckabee is such a Liberal according to Romney and all the Elites? All I have heard over the last 4 months is how Liberal Mike Huckabee is but now all of a sudden he is stealing the Conservative vote from Romney. Give me a break!
Joseph Parks- Huckabee is drawing a decent number of evangelicals and social conservatives. Mitt, in fact, has won more evangelicals then Huck in Michigan, Nevada and Florida, but nonetheless, it’s obvious that McCain does very bad amongst them. The obvious conclusion is that, when Huckabee drops out (Wednesday, probably), Romney will get a bunch of the evangelicals Huckabee was getting.
The whole liberal thing is about Huckabee’s fiscal policy and lack of understanding of free market economics. Fiscally conservative voter, who are driven by that issue, consider Huckabee liberal when he talks about stimulating the economy by building roads. That’s a combination of 1st grade economics and New Deal type thinking. It’s sure as heck the conservative answer for the federal government to start spending a bunch of money on projects.
Huckabee’s campaign has been pushing this fair tax thing to distract the voters from his liberal economic record. It was probably a smart move, actually. Problem is, everyone has figured out that a fair tax would never get passed in Congress and thus all this “get rid of the IRS” stuff is just empty pandering.
I really like Huck’s social values, but when he started losing southern states and losing the evangelical vote to Romney, you knew his bid had no chance at all. Huck thought he could be McCain’s VP, but word is that McCain will be choosing the governor of South Carolina instead.
A vote for McCain or Huckabee is a vote for Obama or Hillary. Huckabee is a nice guy, but face it, he doesn’t have a chance and never did after Iowa. He should drop out now, and stop hurting the only chance conservatisim has.
The George Soros owned liberal media already has the nominees selected. After three years of GOP bashing and spin. Guess who it would be? GOP’s most liberal McCain and Dem - Most liberal of 2007 Obama. It’s a win win for the media.
Do the right thing it’s not too late! Support the media underdog and prove them and their self serving POLLS WRONG AGAIN!
Contribute and Vote for (the conservative) President Mitt Romney!

Go Romney
Folks,
A lot of my conservative friends are talking about ditching the Republican party if McCain is nominated. They are tired of the repeated promises and failures to live up to them. By and large most are tired of the out of control spending, failures on the economy and immigration issues. They hold absolutely no hope that McCain will live up to the parties values on these issues. There not all that happy with Romney either but to a man every one of them would prefer Romney over Juan McAmnesty.
Romney needs to broaded his focus a little; more focus on Women, those in their 20’s and the Military. He’d win a lot of colateral support if the could make some gains in these areas.
What is Groupthink?
Groupthink, a term coined by social psychologist Irving Janis (1972), occurs when a group makes faulty decisions because group pressures lead to a deterioration of “mental efficiency, reality testing, and moral judgment” (p. 9). Groups affected by groupthink ignore alternatives and tend to take irrational actions that dehumanize other groups. A group is especially vulnerable to groupthink when its members are similar in background, when the group is insulated from outside opinions, and when there are no clear rules for decision making.

Janis, Irving L. (1972). Victims of Groupthink. New York: Houghton Mifflin.
Janis, Irving L. (1982). Groupthink: Psychological Studies of Policy Decisions and Fiascoes. Second Edition. New York: Houghton Mifflin.
Symptoms of Groupthink
Janis has documented eight symptoms of groupthink:
Illusion of invulnerability –Creates excessive optimism that encourages taking extreme risks.
Collective rationalization – Members discount warnings and do not reconsider their assumptions.
Belief in inherent morality – Members believe in the rightness of their cause and therefore ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions.
Stereotyped views of out-groups – Negative views of “enemy” make effective responses to conflict seem unnecessary.
Direct pressure on dissenters – Members are under pressure not to express arguments against any of the group’s views.
Self-censorship – Doubts and deviations from the perceived group consensus are not expressed.
Illusion of unanimity – The majority view and judgments are assumed to be unanimous.
Self-appointed ‘mindguards’ – Members protect the group and the leader from information that is problematic or contradictory to the group’s cohesiveness, view, and/or decisions.
When the above symptoms exist in a group that is trying to make a decision, there is a reasonable chance that groupthink will happen, although it is not necessarily so. Groupthink occurs when groups are highly cohesive and when they are under considerable pressure to make a quality decision. When pressures for unanimity seem overwhelming, members are less motivated to realistically appraise the alternative courses of action available to them. These group pressures lead to carelessness and irrational thinking since groups experiencing groupthink fail to consider all alternatives and seek to maintain unanimity. Decisions shaped by groupthink have low probability of achieving successful outcomes

“Think it’s possible for there to be more heartbreak for the Romney campaign?”
WHAT A JOKE!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST NON-FAIR-AND-BALANCED PIECES OF JOURNALISM I’VE SEEN!!! WHAT HEARTBREAK?
THEY ARE STILL IN THIS GAME TO WIN, AND HAVE A PRETTY GOOD SHOT AT IT!!!
IN CASE YOU HADN’T HEARD SHUSHANNAH, ROMNEY JUST WON MAINE, WHERE THE TWO SENATORS ENDORSED MCCAIN!
IN CASE YOU DIDN’T KNOW, ROMNEY IS PULLING AHEAD IN THE POLLS IN CALIFORNIA!!
IN CASE YOU DIDN’T KNOW, ACCORDING TO CNN, ROMNEY ONLY TRAILS MCCAIN BY 5 DELEGATES NOW—ONLY 5!!!
IN CASE YOU HADN’T HEARD—WELL-KNOWN CONSERVATIVES ARE COMING OUT FOR ROMNEY IN DROVES!!! AND CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS ARE RALLYING TO ROMNEY!!!
THE ONLY POSITIVE ARTICLE ABOUT MITT ROMNEY ON THIS “BLOG SPOT” SAYS “ERROR” WHEN YOU TRY TO READ IT! IS THIS A COINCIDENCE? I HOPE SO, BUT I AM REALLY BEGINNING TO WONDER—IF THE “FAIR AND BALANCED” NEWS—-IS TRYING TO TIP THE SCALES!!!
Have you noticed that Obama is going after the liberal Mormon vote? He has spent alot of time talking about his belief in God and in those Mormon drenched states.
Romney’s economic claims challenged
By STEVE LeBLANC Associated Press Writer , Feb. 4, 2008, 5:23AM, The Associated Press
BOSTON — It’s part of Mitt Romney’s core narrative: Massachusetts, in the throes of a fiscal freefall, fell back on his CEO skills and turnaround wizardry to spark — in his words — “a dramatic reversal of state fortunes and a period of sustained economic expansion.”
It’s a rosy opinion of Massachusetts’ economy that few in the state share. Instead, observers say, the state’s recovery from a disastrous 2001 recession has been tepid at best, and Romney gives himself more credit than deserved on job creation and balancing the state budget.
Romney says that by the time he left office, the unemployment rate in Massachusetts was lower and the state had recovered nearly 80,000 jobs from the low point of the recession.
A fuller look reveals a state still struggling to recoup the jobs washed away in the recession, while much of the rest of the country has already sailed past pre-recession highs.

Hey Kim,
Have you ever lived in MA? Well, I did for over 50 years and finally got out when I couldn’t take it anymore. It is controlled by an 85% Liberal/Socialist/Democrat Legislature and the ONLY way anyone can get elected on a state level is to run as a Demcrat! That is the absolute truth. Just the fact that Mitt Romney WON there was a miracle. He vetoed over 150 Democrat bills only to have them overriden so he was powerless in many ways. Still, he was able to accomplish turning a deficit of $3 Billion into a large surpluss before leaving office. It was so bad there I finally moved out because I couldn’t deal with all the political hacks and the corruption.
If you want to find out like it’s like to live in a Socialist state, live in Massachusetts. If you want to find out what it’s like to live in a liberal COUNTRY, let McCain win the nomination.
MITT ROMNEY IS THE ONLY CHANCE WE HAVE TO SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY.

Thanks for the distraction. Good piece. The game was great. It is nice to have a little reprieve…
mrunpc- Seems to me that what would be a good solution to the majority of our political problems, though, is to do just what you did. Move to another state. I know it’s a hassle…but wouldn’t it be great if the liberals just had their own little places in life and they could live and be happy and not mess up the world we want to live in.
This is why states rights is so big an issue for me…WHY in the *** do they have to run so many political agendas from Washington? Can’t we just have a few conservative states to ourselves without Washington mandating to us? This is the biggest problem with liberals…they want to get in Washington and pull strings on the whole rest of the nation. Why don’t they find a Mass. or some other place and move in and be quiet? They would be happy and conservatives would be happy….makes sense to me.
This McCain idea of reaching across the aisle to them just gets a hand bit off. The gang of 14 never met half way with the number of judges that were allowed to be approved. What kind of a compromise is that when only two judges make it out of the fray? What was the original count…ten…twelve…and the fact that there were minorities in there never came out that way…If there had been an up or down vote like there should have been LEGALLY…under the constitution…then the Dems would have had to vote against Hispanic and Black judge candidates and that is something that none of them wanted to come out in the media. They thought it might look bad or be misuderstood by the voter…Hence, one of the reasons they didn’t want a legal up or down vote….
Romney’s unethical “this is a two person race” phone calls caught by the media.

No, my vote won’t be for McCain. I’ll be voting for Mike Huckabee. Right now I consider a vote for Huckabee to be a vote for the FairTax. It’s a vote we probably won’t be able to cast later down the road … so now’s the time. I don’t tell others how to vote … but a strong showing by Huckabee in Georgia and other Super Stupendous Duper Tuesday would keep the FairTax out there, big time. We could cap off those strong Huckabee showings with the debut of “FairTax, The Truth: Answering the Critics” one week from tomorrow.
This morning “FairTax, The Truth” was Number 22 on Amazon.com. Other than votes for Huckabee … I can think of no better way to tell the media and Washington establishment that the people of this country want this tax reform, and want it sooner rather than later, than to give this book a push to a high debut on the bestseller’s lists. Now’s the time–Neil Boortz
Today Rush Limbaugh is criticizing Huckabee for being a Left Wing Conspiracy Theorists in regards to the remarks made the other day about the connection between Sean Hannity and Clear Channel, which is either owned or being bought by Bain Capital (Mitt Romney’s company). Rush said that Sean Hannity has nothing to do with Clear Channel but if you do a quick Google search for “Sean Hannity Clear Channel”, you will see the link below as the first link on the search results page. Now someone please explain to me how Rush is not a bold face liar?

Glad to see Mitt taking a break and enjoying himself…Go Mitt…get er done!!! Indiana is in your court!!!
Huckabee wasn’t even on the radar screen until the liberal media elevated him through his religion well knowing that IA was Evangelical “heavy”. A the same time it trashed Romney and made sure to mention that he was a Mormon. THAT is how Huckabee got ANYWHERE in this race.
Then the media did the same thing with McCain, who was broke, firing his staff, and near the bottom in the polls as recently as December 2007! Knowing that Huckabee had no chance in NH, they puffed up McCain the same way. ALL of this has been orchestrated by the LIBERAL media because they’re scared to death of Mitt Romney knowing that he is by far the strongest GOP candidate and hardest for the Democrats to beat in November.
Mike Huckabee hasn’t won a primary since Iowa and is falling further behind in each race and poll. It is becoming obvious that he is just staying in the race to prevent Mitt Romney from beating McCain. Without him Romney would be winning most of the 22 States in the upcoming Tuesday contest. A vote for Huckabee takes a vote from Romney and benefits only McCain because most of Huckabee’s supporters would favor Romney. He barely got 7% in Maine this weekend and doesn’t have a chance in H— in all of the northern and western states.
Now the media successfully fragmented the Republican vote and pumped their favorite (and our enemy) RINO McCain. It’s a win win for the Liberal Socialists who are in the process of hijacking the Republican Party AND the country.
A VOTE FOR HUCKABEE IS MOST CERTAINLY A VOTE FOR MCCAIN/CLINTON/OBAMA
Latest Polls show Huckabee slipping in GA, TN, and MO, even behind Romney in some polls.
MITT ROMNEY IS OUR ONLY HOPE. SPREAD THE WORD BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.
Todd and Diana,
I’ve been online steady for a week doing all I can to turn the tide against McCain. If Huckabee wasn’t in the race, he would be killing McCain in most states. Huckabee is going to help destroy the conservative movement within the Republican Party.
Make phone calls, send emails to everyone you know.
Here’s a link to an article that really exposes John McCain for who he is:
http://www.alipac.us/article2920.html
Put some links in your emails to this ad from Citizen’s United: http://media.citizensunited.org/Surprisingly.htm. It’s a killer for McCain.
There is still time to give Romney enough of a push to keep the race competitive after Tuesday. The power of the internet is incredible. Please make use of it! Email ANY and EVERYONE you know who will be voting on Tuesday and let them know just how disastrous it would be to vote for McCain. Educate them as to why and turn them on to Mitt Romney.
I’ve met him on several occasions and was at the MA Rep. convention when we nominated him for Governor there. Tell them to get on the Romney bandwagon and help the guy out at: http://www.mittromney.com.
This is pathetic coming from Fox, put a sock in your mouth Shush Walshe, what does the game have anything to do with the election? You’re just trying to link anything that is negative to Romney don’t you. Well, let me tell you Shush, it doesn’t work, I still think Romney is the best candidate out there.
So Hush, Shush.
Diana,
Thanks. Nice to know there are so many conservatives in cyberspace fighting the good fight. I think we may be pleasantly surprised by tomorrow’s results. If Mitt does well enough, he’ll stay in the race.
I’m exhausted from spending every waking minute doing this, but I feel very strongly that my party and country is being hijacked by Socialist/Liberal/Radicals. I know some inside people in media and government and you’d be amazed what they tell me.
While moving is OK in the short term, we can’t run forever. Far too many people simply don’t have time in their busy daily lives to pay attention to politics. I have a neighbor who’s very conservative but doesn’t pay close attention to politics. She actually thought that Romney had already dropped out of the race just the way the Liberal media is reporting.
PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO VOTE TOMORROW AND VOTE FOR MITT!
You go Linda! Spread the word in every way you can. We’ve GOT to stop McCain and it has to be done N O W!
GO MITT
i’ve sent several messages to the huckster asking him to drop out or start attacking the front runner mcnasty if he was truly a conservative.
i reminded him what the Bible he preaches from about loving your neighbor as yourself
and how God tells us not to covet what our neighbor has i.e. huckabee’s envy over mitt’s wealth
as a southern baptist and a graduate of the seminary where the huckster dropped out, i find huckabee to be a hypocrite.
i asked him to swear on a Bible that he has not made adeal with mccain. Not to respond tells me has.
Go get ‘em Carolyn!

Kim, The fair tax is an intriguing idea, but I am not sure if you understand what it would take to actually employ such a tax in the US, or if it would even work if it was employed. But, we would all like tax relief. I am not willing to overlook Huckabee’s many problems though just to get the fair tax.
