Celebs Come Out for Clinton
She may not have much support among the younger generation of Hollywood stars like Jessica Biel or Scarlett Johannson — both of whom are backing Barack Obama — but Hillary Clinton got some help at a rally in East LA from some old guard celebrity endorsers.
Before Hillary arrived, the crowd of 5,000 at Cal State Los Angeles heard from Oscar winning actress Sally Field and West Wing star Bradley Whitford (who’ll always be the villain in “Billy Madison” to me). Clinton friends Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen were in the audience. And NBA legend Magic Johnson talked about the need for someone with experience to bring change in America.
As for Sen Clinton herself, she sharpened her final argument leading up to Super Tuesday — and borrowed a popular theme from a former opponent, John Edwards, who made his Two Americas a stump speech staple in 2004.
Hillary turned those two Americas into “the America I see,” where there’s a prosperous middle class, families can afford to send their children to college, and everyone will have health care. That America, she said, will begin on January 20, 2009 — when the next president is sworn in.
She used the new framework to draw some old distinctions with her rival, Sen Barack Obama.
-On change vs experience: “I offer in this campaign a record of making positive change, of standing up with those who are voiceless, powerless, hopeless, year after year after year after year after year after year. Because I know, talk about change is easy. Making change is hard.”
-And on providing universal health care: “This is a fight worth having. My opponent will not commit to universal health care,” she said — drawing boos from the crowd. “I do not believe we should nominate any Democrat who will not proudly stand here today, tomorrow and the next day” for universal coverage.
And as the GOP comes closer to selecting its eventual nominee, Sen Clinton threw some punches at a likely general election opponent. “We need a president and commander in chief who understands we have to withdraw from Iraq,” she said, “unlike Senator McCain, who said he’d be happy to be there for 100 years.”
“I just want you to think about this: I believe that we can have an election this time where all of the issues including National Security are ones that Democrats can stand and proudly promote,” she said. “I take a back seat to no one in my commitment to protect and defend this country .”

Well, finally we see some respectable celebs coming out!
Women are just that stupid to buy into the Obama vision. They dont even see they are passing up one of if not the only opportunities of their lifetime to have a woman for president.
I thought women would be smarter than that - they are falling for the handsome orator - thats why their wages are lower than mens, they get less respect in business etc.
This is the time for women to stand up and be counted.
He is getting the black vote - blacks are not stupid
Why are women not that smart?
I hope they VOTE FOR HILLARY and prove me wrong.
Voters should keep one thing in mind when they see some celebrity endorsing a particular candidate. Just because someone is on TV and well known do not make their opinion carry more weight. Their endorsement is nothing more than their opinion. ie. Oprah, or Caroline Kennedy. They are not smarter than you the voter. They put their pants the same way I do; one leg at a time. Don’t be fooled by these people because they are using their access to TV to put their opinion down our throats. Watch the debates. Read or listen to the words they candidates themselves say. Not a media report or some other second had account. The media is almost always biased one way or the other. Listen to the candidates themselves and trust your own intelligence.
I am an admirer and respect the Kennedy clan. I loved John F Kennedy & his family. However, I’m uncomfortable with Ted, Patrick, & Caroline’s endorsement. That is quite a bit of power, I wonder what the expectations are from the Kennedys if/when Obama is elected President. What favors will he owe?
Frankly, I’m getting a little tired of all of the emphasis on which celebrity, group, is backing which candidate. Oprah, etc. I’m more interested in experience, commitments, their values, stand on the important issues, such as economy, health, Iraq, etc. And don’t make promises that you can’t keep.
Finally, it doesn’t take long to know who the media, even programs on this tv channel are favoring and how they slant the information.
All we need is hollywood and Gen Hillary running this country
VOTERS YOU ARE THE DECIDING FACTOR - DON’T BELIEVE ON NATIONAL MEDIA NEGATIVE ADS, POLLSTERS, PUNDITS, POLITICIAN, CELEBRITY ENDORSERS. DON’T LET ANYONE DECIDE IT FOR YOU. CHOOSE THE RIGHT PERSON YOU BELIEVE WILL LEAD OUR COUNTRY ON DAY ONE! I STRONGLY BELIEVE SENATOR CLINTON IS THE MOST QUALIFIED, SMART, EXPERIENCE LEADER THAT CAN RUN OUR COUNTRY IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. God Bless America!!
If hillary did not have such a shady past i would have voted fir her….my vote goes to obama for is honesty and judgement and experience and no baggage. he is a uniter. Hillary has made a lot of enemies in the congress……because of Obama she has improved temporarily….but she all her dirty laundry will be aired to the world soon…she will not make it to the white house.
The Clintons are untouchable. They play dirty and get away with it. I am still waiting to hear WHAT experience, other than first lady, hillary has to be President. She failed the LSAT TWICE!!! Hello!
Yeah, making change is hard…. I guess that is why she has not divorced bill:0
VOTE - “MY AMERICAN MAMA” - HILLARY CLINTON - PRESIDENT!!!!!
America’s True Presidential Leader!!!!
The endorsement for Barack “Hussein” Obama by Senator Kennedy was a huge kick in the face for each female in America. The efforts by Martin Luther King, Jr. and John F. Kennedy for civil rights also included EQUAL RIGHTS REGUARDLESS of race, sex, creed, religion, gender, etc. —–so what happened to Senator Kennedy?????
I truly hope each female in America –takes a minutes to feel that kick in the face by Senator Kennedy and go out and VOTE for HILLARY CLINTON…to let Senator Kennedy know that each female in America has POWER AT THE POLL as well.
Shame on Senator Kennedy and Caroline.
ATTENTION–ALL FEMALES–GET OUT TO VOTE–FOR HILLARY CLINTON!!!!
FEMALES HAVE THE POWER AT THE POLLS!!!
—-Hopefully, Senator Kennedy will get the message. Shame on Senator Kennedy for not endorsing HILLARY CLINTON instead of Barack “HUSSEIN” Obama.
VOTE - “MY AMERICAN MAMA” - HILLARY CLINTON - PRESIDENT!!!!
VOTE - “MY AMERICAN MAMA” - HILLARY CLINTON - PRESIDENT!!!!

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!

~~~~~~Who Let The Dogs Out~~~~~~
Before you cast your vote–please do your research. THERE HAS BEEN A COUPLE OF ARTICLES OUT RECENTLY THAT PROVES THE CLINTON’S CANNOT BE TRUSTED! WAKE UP AMERICA BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!!!!
After reading the following articles and then doing some more research on all the Clinton scandals all the way back to Mena, Arkansas, do you honestly think that these are the people of integrity that we want in the White House? Please don’t be fooled by a nice show–really look at the facts and not based on only one issue or a feeling!!! If Hillary gets the nomination, all this information sited in these articles and then some will come out by the GOP and they cannot wait to take Hillary down.
Go to: 1) Bill Clinton Rogue Co-President in the Making by Dick Morris and Eileen McGann
2) An ex-president, a mining deal, a big donor by the New York Times
Also, the recent New York Post article “Post Endorses Obama” is one of the only newspapers that state the truth of why the Clinton’s cannot be trusted–they are the only ones that I have seen that have actually sited all the scandals and several other issues. These are all key factors. DEBATES ARE NOT THE SOLE WAY TO JUDGE A PERSON–just like in a job interview, one puts up their best appearances. Most employers do research, background checks, and check references before hiring someone. AS THE HIGHEST POSITION IN THIS LAND, WE TOO HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO DO OUR OWN DUE DILIGENCE ON THESE CANDIDATES.
I do not understand why all the news channels do not cover this information so all Americans can be informed!
Yes, I am a 50 yr old white female independent and I don’t vote based on parties or only on one issue–such as pro-life or pro-choice or voting for another a women just for the sake of her being a women–it has to be the right women–the person I vote for must have complete honestly and integrity–this is of utmost importance–we have just been through 7 years of lies from the current administration….Do your research and you will certainly see that a vote for Hillary is a vote for the same dishonestly and a whole lot more!!!
Attention:
We are all witnessing history in the making. The making of a leader or the free world will be a women . It’s time for change, it’s time for a most powerful woman in the world. Go Hillary, you’ll make an excellent president .
I also think it will take a Clinton to clear the mess the Bushes have left behind.
Attention:
Republicans would prefer Obama as they know deep in their hearts that they can win the White House again. We already have a black president in South Africa. That country is not doing that well.
Let the majority determine the destiny of a great country.
Go Hillary all the way to the White House.
Note: This is a guy talking not a woman.
Blondshag, You spoke of equality. Equality does not mean women rule and should get special treatment. Sen. Kennedy was giving his opinion of who he thinks is the best candidate. Nothing more. That DOES NOT mean his is bias against women! You should have said ALL FEMALES GET OUT AND VOTE FOR WHO YOU BELIEVE WILL BEST LEAD OUR COUNTRY FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS WITHOUT REGUARD TO RACE OR SEX. I think this is how Dr. King would have responded.
Do the Research, instead you vote on conspiracy theories and character assassination!
I would like to say that I was listening to morning news this morning when you brought on someone about who would put the most money in your pocket , I am sorry but you looked like you was ,
Doing ads for Romeny and Obama , Nice try but you need to talk to the real people , the ones ont the streets , We do think Hillary is the smartest running.
Seems to me Hillary was criticized on health care. I believe Obama said that under the Hillary plan people would be forced to buy healthcare. Seems to me Hillary vehemently denied this accusation. I just read a headline where she has stated that she could be persuaded to tap the employee’s pay if they refused to take their company’s healthcare plan.
Ladies of America, wake up! This lady talks the talk but she ain’t gonna walk the walk. I would like to see a woman president myself but this one isn’t the one! I want one that is not deceptive, who is honest and prefers truth.
Today’s Headlines
WASHINGTON - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to have workers’ wages garnisheed if they refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans.
PEOPLE REALLY CRACK ME UP WHEN THEY WILL BELIEVE ANYTHING THIS WOMAN SAYS SHE’S GOING TO DO. ALL SHE HAS IS AN IDEA ONCE AGAIN THAT HASN’T BEEN TESTED OR PROVEN TO WORK AND YOU PEOPLE ARE BUYING EVERY WORD OF THIS. IF UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE WAS SO IMPORTANT TO HER AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE THAN WHY DIDN’T SHE INTRODUCE A BILL IN CONGRESS FOR IT? I MEAN SHE HAS BEEN A SENATOR FOR WHAT 6 OR 7 YEARS NOW AND ALL OF A SUDDEN SINCE SHE’S TRYING TO BECOME PRESIDENT SHE DECIDES TO TALK ABOUT DOING SOMETHING FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. I MEAN YOU PEOPLE DO UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS SOMETHING THAT CONGRESS HAS TO FIRST AGREE TO THEN PASS BEFORE ANYTHING GETS DONE. QUITE FRANKLY I DON’T THINK SHE EVEN HAS A CHANCE OF GETTING A BILL PASSED FOR UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, BECAUSE I KNOW SHE DOESN’T HAVE SUPPORT OF REPUBLICANS AND PROBABLY SOME DEMOCRATS AS WELL. ALL SHE CAN DO IS HOPE SHE CAN GET IT PASSED JUST AS SHE HOPES TO HAVE OUR SOLDIERS HOME WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OR SIXTEEN MONTHS, BUT JUST AS SHE HAS STATED BEFORE” HOPE ISN’T A STRATEGY” SEEMS TO ME EVERYTHING SHE TALKS ABOUT IS HOPE, THE PAST AND 35 YEARS OF FAILED EXPEIRENCE. WHY MUST WE WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT TO FINALLY DO SOMETHING FOR AMERICA WHEN SHE HAS HAD EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO INTRODUCE LEGISLATION IN THE SENATE? THAT IS WHERE BILLS AND LAWS MUST GO TO BEFORE ANYTHING IS FINALLY PASSED OR DID SHE FORGET OR NOT CARE ABOUT AMERICA UNTIL NOW? I GUESS THE HIPPY MUSEUM IN NEW YORK WAS MORE IMPORTANT TO HER.
…”and West Wing star Bradley Whitford (who’ll always be the villain in “Billy Madison” to me).” — LOL!!! Me too…
I’m not against a female president…just not Hillary. Seems that everyone forgot all the garbage that surrounds the Clintons….then again, maybe her supporters just don’t care?
It is interesting the way the comments stack up here: the old guard who basically say “vote for Hillary, she is a woman,” and the newbies who push Obama as the wind of change.
The former, though they are loathe to admit it, are really no more than the so-called bigots they putatively wish to replace. One cannot say “vote for Hillary- she is a woman” and not be condemned by their very choice of words- you cut off the branch on which you sit. No better than saying, “don’t vote for Lieberman because he is a Jew.” Pathetically unAmerican. America was borne and has been great because of the belief that we are individuals whose goodness is not attached to a group (gender, race, etc.).
The latter who like Obama? Most of you should go back to the high schools and universities you matriculated and ask for a refund for not teaching you how to spot a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The man, as intelligent and well spoken as he is, has absolutely no substance or accomplishments that qualify him to deal with the economy, social issues, terrorism and rogue nations. Another Jimmy Carter at best, with similar background- except for the unmitigated belief that Farrakhan is a great man, gay marriage is OK, abortion should always be legal and taxes are too low. Don’t forget, cancer is also a type of “change”- figure out what Obama stands for before you inhale the smoke.
I couldn’t understand some parts of this article Come Out for Clinton « FOX Embeds « FOXNews.com, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
