Obama: The Senate’s Most Liberal Member
According to National Journal magazine (as forwarded by the RNC), Senator Barack Obama is ranked as the Senate’s most liberal member. Yes, that means he is considered more liberal than liberal Senators Kennedy, Kerry, Schumer, and Sanders. And, of course Hillary Clinton, who is ranked 16th. In his first two years in the U.S. Senate, Obama was ranked 16th and 10th, moving left in the run up to the race for the Democratic nomination.
This from the candidate who often touts his appeal to Republicans and Independents, saying he can bridge the divide between “Red States and Blue States. ” He also has been known to say that Democrats don’t have a “monopoly on wisdom,” and so would consider Republicans for Cabinet positions. This broad appeal, his ability to connect with Republicans, is something Obama hopes can help him in the general election, should he win the nomination.
Spokesman Bill Burton responded to the National Journal’s assessment, saying: “On 65 of the 99 votes that both Obama and Clinton voted on, they voted exactly the same way on all but two – with Obama voting to strengthen the ethics bill by creating an Office of Public Integrity and Clinton voting against it. Only in Washington can you get falsely attacked for being like Reagan one week and labeled the most liberal the next. The tendency of Washington to apply a misleading label to every person and idea is just one of the many things we need to change about how things operate inside the beltway.”

Obama is a man for the times now. It is interesting that the media is not reporting all of the scandals and corrupt undertakings of Bill and Hillary Clinton. Let us review some of them:
1) White Water an illegal land deal.

3) Illegal stock dealings involving Hillary and Tyson Chicken.
4) Bill and Hillary’s involvement with Chinese spies who posed as businessmen

6) An accusation of rape against Bill.
7) Impeachment against Bill.
Bill and Hillary. You left the residents of that state just how you found it (poor

10) A slew of associates who all supposedly committed suicide while the Clintons were under

Liberal is a red-meat word on this site. Senator Obama has been able to find friends in the traditionally red states. Governors (past and present) and or senators are stumping for him from Missouri, North Dakota, Arizona, South Carolina, Mississippi, Kansas, etc. This is coalition that can prove to be a winning force in November.

In response to Terri White, I’m not sure I would be as hard on Bill. I think his heart is good. I’m sure there is a lot of pressure on him to do anything to get his spouse into the White House. A fair number of the problems he faced in his Administration related to what his wife was pushing (travel firings, a female AG, etc.). I’m sure the former First Lady also has some good qualities also but she is demonstrating a intense desire to win the White House at all costs.
As for the GOP, I don’t hear the concern for the middle and lower classes except for Huckabee and he is expressing some questionable religious views.

This gives me hope for the future. When one of our major political parties can break new ground and dig deep into their pool of candidates and pull out someone like Obama it is indeed momentous. His impressive resume of political experience backed by his ability to get himself elected to almost any office he wants is certainly enough for me to want to hand over the reins of the largest most powerful nation on earth to him.
OOPS, wait a minute. You mean he has spent his entire career running for office and not actually participating in things like voting for legislation or in fact proposing any legislation. He is a polished speaker with nice suits and his total lack of experience is neatly offset by the hundreds of years of political log jamming of his principal advisors like Ted Kennedy.

As for the former First Lady’s experience argument, much of it is spurious. She won’t even push for the opening of her schedule at 1600 Pennsylvania, not to mention any other records. It’s easy to take credit for all the good that came during the Clinton Administration, but she ought to also buck up and claim so of the blame. What are her thoughts about Rwanda, Kimba Wood and Zoe Baird, the “baking cookies” statement, the travel office firings, etc.?
What does the GOP have to offer for the lower class except fear? Fortunately Giuliani is out of the race and W has given his last State of the Union, so maybe we won’t have to drone on about “noun-verb-9/11″. I for one believe in FDR’s “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.”
I want to live in a country that offers something to our veterans besides the chance to have fought for their country. Many are homeless. Others need tremendous amounts of healthcare.
Those born into poverty should have some access to resources that will provide them opportunities to reach beyond that poverty. Our poorest rural and urban communities need to provide better libraries and schools, less usurious lenders, more law enforcement, etc.

If the voters are serious about improving the overall economic, social, educational, and political condition of the United States of American, then let us deal in the truth about all of the candidates. Cast off your fears and hatred and let us all find the virtue to know the truth from lies, misinformation, and political spin. The truth is that the Clinton’s are as dirty as any organized crime family. From unethical campaign fundraising going all of the way back to their time in Arkansas to unbelievable misconduct while in the White House. And the Clinton’s know Tony Rezko because they met him while they (the Clinton’s) were still in the White House. Now Hillary says that she does not remember meeting Mr. Rezko but the photo of them (Hillary, Tony, and Bill) standing shoulder to shoulder tells the truth. I ask you is this the type of person you want in the White House, a woman and a family who will tell you outright lies because they believe you are too stupid to know the truth.
It’s saddening how little attention is paid to Obama’s actual record and seeing what a far left liberal he is. Obama followers are simple-minded enough to gush over his mesmerizing (superior) charisma (though, in fact, it’s more accurate to refer to his speeches as content-free gibberish).
On the other side, Huckabee needs to step out of the race immediately and endorse Romney - which I see as the only chance to stop the McCain machine on Super Tuesday. I’m praying for this to happen. Romney, pick up the phone and call Huckabee, today!

The media has been riding Hillary’s dirty tampon. They have not challenged her dubious claim of being a champion for the poor, children, and up lifting not just richest but also the poorest U.S. of A citizens.
I agree with R Hebert’s comments. No one should invest one’s hopes and dreams in any man cause man (women too) will always let you down. But that’s easy to say. Anyone with the least amount of common sense can cite reasons why our leaders all fall short of the lofty expectations we have for them.
My point is that I am tried of the Clintons. I tried of their lies, scandals, and failures. I think that the case for women in leadership positions is a sad case if all that we, women, have to support is Hillary Clinton. Hillary, a woman who could not control her husband’s immoral behavior, a woman who ignored the truth until it could not be ignored any longer, a woman who blamed Republicans for her husband’s lust and infidelity, is simply the wrong choice. I am not from the South, but if I were a southern belle, I would not look up to Hillary, who was born and raised in a suburb of Chicago, as a shining example of leadership and hope. yes it would be greenspan terry, but now its bernanke and it was the position i was referring to not the man. The person maintaining that position controls the true money flow into the economy and out of it through interest rates, reserve requirements, bonds..etc what the president can do is play with the tax system. So when you talk about the economy and what a president can do for it talk about how they might push for a tax return bill or cuts.
When it comes to economic positions the democratic candidates express the most productive views by ending all this crappy tax return policy that is occuring. they also express extreme interest in working with other nations economically especially in the middle east to drive down gas prices..etc which will in the end put more money back into the hands of the american people for spending. These are the real economic issues here.

Taxation is a means of rasing revenue for the expenses of the Federal government. This aspect of the government and economy is shared between the three braches of the government. Hence, it is part of the balance of power between all three braches of the government. What the President do is block the exportation of US jobs and manufacturing capacity to third world countries through tariffs, embargoes, and advantageous trade agreements.
This is something that GW Bush and Bill and Hillary failed to do.
If you listen to the candidates, you will see that Obama’s ideas on the economy are correct and best for the nation.

I would say Obama is more socialist and leaning toward Communist than anything else, with government control and redistribution of wealth. His complete lack of consideration for our Constitution aggravates me.
He preaches change yet promises more of the same - eroding of Democracy and negotiating away our Constitutional rights.
I agree, Obama scares me. He seems to get away from everything no matter how controversial the topic is. His seems to use everything to his advantage and manages to rally support. I believe the following is working for him:
a) Speeches: good speech delivering ability that can often mislead his stance by jokes and fun
b) Race: Half white, half black, so able to rally both
c) Religion: Half Christian and Half Muslim origin, so appeals to both US and fanatics
d) Vote: Votes ‘Present’, instead of Yes or No. This way he has a clean slate on most important and controversial topics
e) War: says he voted against war, yet says he is ready to use force if needed
f) Unifier: Claims he wants to unify the Dems and Reps, however, thrashes both to suite the talk of the time.
Having considering all this and year 2012 that falls in his term, he seems so much like the Anti-Christ personified.
