Huckabee Heads “Full Throttle” into Southern State Swing, but is it Enough?
Los Angeles, CA-
After a debate where Mike Huckabee was largely left on the sidelines with Libertarian Ron Paul, due to a format that favored the two leading contenders, John McCain, and Mitt Romney, Huckabee is looking for a boost in the last days before the mega-state primaries on February, 5th. Huckabee today embarks on a pre-Tsunami Tuesday campaign swing that will lead him through many of the Southern, and Heartland states-like Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Georgia- that are at the center of his Southern state strategy; the last stand for this Little-Train-That-Could of GOP presidential campaigns.
” I am optimistic about our chances and the path forward seems clear,” Huckabee said, in a message titled “Full Throttle”, to supporters yesterday.”When I look at Super Tuesday, I see a number of key Southern states, and other strong conservative states, that are likely to add to our delegate count and put us on the right track towards winning the Republican nomination.”
However, due to McCain’s freight train-like momentum, after back to back primary wins, and gargantuan endorsements like the Governator’s today in California( a delegate-heavy Super Tuesday state), Huckabee’s effort, while herculean, could fall well short of it’s intended target. Verifiable signs of the tough road head for the Huckabee campaign are already appearing, like large hurdles in front of a sprinter, trying to catch up to the lead runner. According to poll numbers released today in some of those Southern states, McCain leads Huckabee by double digits.
Insider Advantage has McCain leading Huckabee in Tennessee, 33 to 25. In Georgia, where Huckabee campaigned recently, he is down 11 points, 35 to 24 (5% MOE).
Despite large obstacles that face Huckabee, his message remains optimistic, and points to the odds his campaign faced, and overcame earlier in the race, that took him from asterisk to Iowa winner, to one of the last men standing.
“When you look at what we have done, with what we have, it’s a remarkable story,” Huckabee writes.
Unfortunately for his campaign, and the trajectory that its currently on, it might remain only that: One of the more remarkable stories of this presidential cycle.

Huckabee needs to get realistic and drop out before Super Tues. He recycles statements during debates said by other, better qualified candidates….Mitt Romney has a real shot at representing the party in a formidable and impressive manner– McCain must be stopped– hopefully Paul and Huckabee supporters will rally around Romney to produce the results we need…..
I read the above article with disappointment and agree a vote for McCain ensures a dem in the white house.
Very curious as why now FOX is say “The campaign was planning to focus on areas with heavy concentrations of Romney’s fellow Mormons: California, Arizona, and Utah, seat of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.”
Making this race about religion JFK would be rolling over in his grave, let alone what Regan would say.
McCain last night admitted he lied about Romney’s record on the War, and then say “But” Curious how hard would we have to push McCain to get one of his famious rants or is he on medication now to calm him down??
I was supprised the Anderson last night never ask McCain the real question………

I would like to say to Huckabee and all his supporters that you fought a good fight and you brought religious principles to the campaign. Congrats! However, now you have fallen to a role of blocking Mitt Romney (the only person who can now beat McCain). If that is your intention, then fine, you have your choice. However, if that isn’t your intention, then it is time to face reality! Mend the fences and play nice with Romney so that a united conservative base can beat the threat of having a liberal in office for 8 years….whether that be McCain or a Dem, their is no difference. They will both trample on the Constitution of the United States and move us closer to socialism.
No wonder Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee are having such a fight just to stay in this thing. The bias in last night’s debate was sickening. McCain and Romney allowed to ramble on for minutes at a time while Huckabee and Paul sit there begging for a chance to respond.
McCain will sell out the conservative voters in less than a New York minute. Trust me on this I live in Arizona where the mind numb voters keep electing him and a liberal Democrat for governor.
Republicans better quit drinking the kool-aid and start paying attention to the facts and the issues concerning these candidates. The news media likes McCain because he is way left of center. When CNN throws him softball questions and gives him plenty of air time doesn’t something seem suspicious to you?
You Romney lovers are sick. Telling lies to benefit your candidate. Just like Romney himself. Mitt Romney should drop out of the race because he is taking votes from the one person who can beat McCain, Gov. Mike Huckabee.
Huckabee is the only true conservative. Romney is a social and fiscal liberal.
So you want those of us who support Huckabee to abandon our principles to vote for Romney to stop McCain. How about you dropping your support of a flip-flopper Kerry-tron and support the candidate who connects with the working people. A man who really cares about us and not a venture capitalist who put people out of work? A gov of the most liberal state in the country who changed his views to run for president. Abandon our views for you, not a chance even if we have to write in Mike in Nov.
Huckabee in 08!
Huckabee supporters,
You have now seen and been victim of the media’s bias towards the liberal republican and the flip-flopping Romney. I hope Rv. Huckabee does well and stays in the race, however, if he decides to drop out, we welcome you in Ron Paul’s camp.
The only major difference I see between Dr. Paul and Rv. Huckabee is in foreign policy, and even there, they both want the war to end - they just differ on the timing. They are both pro-life (Dr. Paul authored legislation to define that life starts at concenption and obtained the endorsement of “Jane Roe” who became a christian and now is pro-life.) Dr. Paul is also pro-marriage having been married to the same woman for 51 years.
Dr. Paul is going to stay in until the end and hopefully Rv. Huckabee will too so we at least have a choice between two men that say what they mean and mean what they say. However, if Rv. Huckabee does decide to drop after Tuesday, please research Dr. Paul and make an informed opinion on the candidate you will support. Dr. Paul has been silenced by the media for a reason - He’ll bring true change to Washington and that scares people.
God Bless.
I agree with Patriotdefender. The Huckabee and Paul supporters should ask themselves would they rather see a liberal like McCain or conservative like Romney as President.
If the tables were turned and I had to choose between Huck or McCain, I would gladly choose Huck. We cannot afford to hand the reigns to McCain and betray our conservative principles. Romney has a real shot at defeating this traitor with help from Huckabee and Paul supporters.
If not, conservatives will split themselves among Romney, Huckabee and Paul and hand McShamnesty the nomination. Don’t let it happen!!!
Mark Davis, the Dallas Morning News’ most conservative writer, came out for Romney today. He said what the rest are saying, support Romney and defeat the liberal McCain…..
McCain had to “think about it” when asked to be Kerry’s VP……………..GO MITT!!!!
What about a MITT &MIKE 08?? IF they are both conservative then that should do it?!!!
Romney should drop out so the real consevitive can beat McCain. I would never vote for Romney or McCain, I will stay home if I have to. If either get the nomination I hope we have an independent that believes in the 2nd ammendment….
I like Huckabee. I think he shoud stay in the race just to spite all those in the media who, since Iowa, have been wanting him to fall on his face. If he looses, I have the satisfaction of knowing that the conservative talk shows here in California will have to deal with somebody who they do not want, serves them right. While been a lifelong republican, it sickens me that they never gave him a chance. It is clear that the American people do not vote their conscious anymore but listen to media experts to tell them who to vote for.
Huckabee FOR AMERICA, get out now. Please help save our country! We must stop juan mccain…
To The Brain: Well, brain, perhaps…..mind? well, the jury’s still out. Fact is, Huckabee is the ONLY clear alternative to Romney and Mccain. You could honestly put Obama, Clinton, Edwards Romney and Mccain in a bag, put them in a bag with Unsteady Teddy and never be able to tell them apart.
Mike Huckabee has gone on record as opposing the continued existence of the IRS. He is the only candidate to go on record as being in full support of the National Fair Tax, the ONLY fiscal remedy I’ve seen that even remotely makes sense to today’s taxpayer. He is a man of principle, and one of the few preacher/politicians who actually appears to have lived his faith.
McCain’s patriotism is NOT under question here. Neither is his love of the US. Everyone knows what he went through during the Vietnam War. However, like WWII veterans, there comes a day when you have to store the memories and look to the future. It makes no more sense to vote for John McCain as President merely on the basis of his POW experiences than it does to vote for Jesse Jackson because if he had been in a different position that April day, it would have been him, not MLK whose life was lost. That’s the reality. In fact, it may well be that McCain’s experiences may have served to cause him to have some degree of trepidation as he confronts foreign governments in this ongoing war on terror. I don’t suspect that, but it IS a possibility.
Rather than see Huckabee leave the race and leave it to the two interchangeable moderate/liberals Romney and McCain, I have a different approach. Let Romney drop out, sign on as Huckabee’s VP and then help finance Huckabee’s candidacy, which has done well despite being starved out by Romney’s personal wealth and McCain’s big time, wheeler-dealer contributors. Mitt, think about that one for awhile and then exercise some free thinking for a change.
I think that if anyone is “throwing” or “swaying” the election it is the media - liberal and conservative. I can say unequivocally that the media, including FOX news, “makes the news” and does not “report the news.” This is seen esp. when Fox was reporting that Mike Huckabee had pulled out of Florida when in fact he did not. They purposefully do not mention his name - and just today they were going on and on how McCain revitalized his campaign and with very little funds…the very thing they criticize Huckabee for. As to Huckabee dropping out of the race before the fat lady sings…no deal. Now I can’t speak for every Huckabee supporter but IF Hucabee doesn’t make it past Super Tuesday and IF he would drop out of the race - I would guess that votes would go to McCain. (Or to be more accurate - for November - we wouldn’t be voting FOR anyone, just AGAINST the dems) Romney is a total flip-flopper- definately not to be trusted. Just take this, so he says that after he got into office as gov. of Massachusettes that he always “sided” on the side of life even though he ran as pro-choice. Ok, so he had a change of heart…BUT by that change of heart he deceived the very people that elected him based on that pro-choice platform!! (This is NEVER mentioned by the media…once again the SPIN makes me dizzy) So even though he made a “come to light” decision, he changed and basically deceived all the people that voted him in thinking that he was pro-choice…same could be said about marriage and the 2nd Ammendment. If he’s done it once..(twice, thrice…) who’s to say if he were elected as President that he would get into office and have other “change of hearts”? No thank you. If Massachusettes wants him back as governor, more power to them…but not as President.
DallasRepublican writes….
I agree with Patriotdefender. The Huckabee and Paul supporters should ask themselves would they rather see a liberal like McCain or conservative like Romney as President.<<<
The problem, Dallas, is that Romney has absolutely zero chance of winning in the general election. Not even a glimmer of hope. Oh he’ll get the party base, sure, but who cares? The Independents and moderates, like myself, who are the critical voting block that swings the elections will not support Romney. The polls AND THE RESULTS thus far have shown that VERY clearly. They simply will not vote for another hard line conservative after Bush. So you have your choice. You are going to end up with a moderate Republican (McCain) in the white house or a screaming liberal (Obama or Hillary). The stubborn ones will say they will vote for Hillary or Obama before McCain but of course that’s like saying “my toe needs amputated so I’ll chop my leg off”.
Dan,
You might not be informed because the media does not let Dr. Paul’s word out:
Dr. Paul wants to eliminate the IRS (as does Rv. Huckabee) and does support a flat tax. A very flat tax of 0% for everyone. He’d support the 23% flat tax Rv. Huckabee promotes, but only as a second best alternative.
Dr. Paul was one of only a handful of conservatives to endorse Ronald Reagan in 1976. Future President Reagan even campaigned for Dr. Paul in 1978 so Dr. Paul’s conservative claim is pretty solid.
If you think Rv. Huckabee was ignored last night, imagine how Dr. Paul feels - he’s getting the silent treatment from the media.
I rather see a Huckabee-Paul ticket than any other combination. I just don’t see Rv. Huckabee selling out to Romney’s millions. I see him as principled in his beliefs and if they cost him the presidency, so be it (much like Dr. Paul feels.)
I want a brokered convention so we can have real debate instead of this spoon fed media poo poo we are getting. However, if Rv. Huckabee does drop out, look toward Dr. Paul and inform yourself on his issues - I believe you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Barack Obama ranked as the most liberal senator of 2007, according to newly released National Journal ratings.
National Journal has tabulated the rankings of U.S. senators and representatives based on their votes for the last 27 years, and found that in 2007 both Obama and his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination Hillary Clinton shifted to the left in the run-up to the primaries.
Obama went from being the 10th-most-liberal senator in 2006 to the front of the line, while Clinton went from being the 32nd-most-liberal senator to the 16th-most-liberal last year.
Despite the bitterness pervading the campaign between Clinton and Obama, National Journal pointed out the two have very similar voting records. The year-in-review showed the two differed on just 10 of the 267 measure they both voted on.
The article said the two candidates were like “fraternal policy twins,” demonstrating only slight differences.
National Journal wrote that the two senators supported most measures to withdraw troops from Iraq and comprehensive immigration reform, and that they voted similarly when it came to health care, education, energy and other issues.
END TRANS: MARV!
Mike Huckabee is the REAL conservative’s choice. He is a pricipled man, with a great deal of class. He is Pro-Life, very strong on the 2nd Amendment, very pro-military. He lowered many taxes and fees and doubled the income tax deduction in Arkansas. What more do you want in a conservative?? He has not only been a minister, but has also run businesses and was named by Time Magazine as one of the five best Governors in the nation. If you want to keep your right to own a gun, Mike Huckabee is the ONLY candidate in either party who can be trusted.
Mike Huckabee has no intentions of getting out of this race. The only one’s who are intent on that is the GOP Old Heads and the media, INCLUDING Fox News. Last night’s exhibition in “How to Strip Equal Opportuinty from the Electoral Process” was appalling. Fox News continually reports on the “Two-Man Race”. At last recollection there remains FOUR (4) candidates in the Republican Race. Mike Huckabee has had to fight more than anonymity, cash shortages and the other candidates, he has also had to fight the media disdain, including the Fix News Network, and the GOP establishment — never mind that he is the better man.
While I believe that Mike Huckabee still has an opportunity in the race for the Whitehouse, chiefly because the report offered by Fix News on this page is most likely slanted; if Huckabee does have to bow out he will do so with class, grace and will have to hang his head to no one, because NOT ONLY IS HE THE BETTER MAN, but he has accomplished more with less than any other candidate in the race, which if you think about it: ISN’T THAT REALLY WHAT WE SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR IN A PRESIDENT?
“I have seen the enemy; and he is us”
People, get a clue. In one national poll after another, Huckabee is running second to McCain, leaving Romney in third place. Huck stands to take more states than Romney on Super Tuesday. Who needs to drop out? Mitt needs to be the one to get out! If people would stop listening to the media biased garbage they are trying to force feed us and vote their convictions rather than voting for what the media says, we will be nominating Huck. Come on America, use your brains and vote convictions, rather than doing what the media is telling you to do.
Go Mike!
ARE YOU GUYS CRAZY? Huckabee is in the way! How in the world can he beat mcCliar if he kisses his but. He reason the has lost SC IS because he is a but kisser! Everybody knows it(may not admit it) He is sucking the votes away from romney. If hucabee was not in flordia romney would have one. By the way romney and huckabee tied in evangelical votes. Out of all the primary or(except SC) caucses romeny has came near to defeat mcCliar. Huck supporters join with romney. If HUck doesnt fight mCLIAR romney is all alone. If we do not join forces Mcliar will get the nomination. THE choice is your. Sleep on it tonight.
thanks
Huckabee, when given a chance to speak, did very well in the biased debate.
Mitt is a multi-millionaire that understands absolutely nothing about what the average American has to deal with when making decisions on how to stretch their paychecks. He has never had to decide what they could afford to buy at the grocery store or to look in his wallet before pumping his gasoline. For that matter he probably doesn’t even go to a grocery store and has never had to drive himself anywhere let alone pump gasoline. If you take a good look at the “universal health care system” he created while governor you will find that employers, the self-employed and regular every day people are fined (or is that taxed?) if they do not go along with his government enforced plan.
Living in Arizona I know what McCain is like and I will not vote for him.
I like Ron Paul economic view but the majority of Americans do not so the clear choice is: Huckabee!
Libertarian Ron Paul. HMMM. I thought he was a Republican. I guess Fox and friends(M.S.M.) would like us to believe that neo-cons are Republicans and people with conservative values are now libertarians. Ron Paul is running on the same platform and values that Ronald Reagan and Bush Jr. ran on. He has the most conservative record in Congressional history. He has been a Republican member of congress for over a decade. Why call him a Libertarian? Because Fox doesn’t want real Republicans any more. They have joined the dark side. They would like you to believe that the Government is the key to your survival. They would like you to believe that you should give up your freedom for a greater good. What greater good? Alot of people think that we aren’t created equally. They believe they can make better decisions than the avarage American. They want your money to spend on things that are to great for you to understand. Don’t try and understand these complex issues with you feeble little heads. Let the Gov. do it for you. Its the Neo-American way.
Scout,
I don’t know if he’s a better man than any or not, but he’s at least just as good as any and better than some.
Because of the same media bias Rv. Huckabee encounters, you may not know that Dr. Paul is 100% 2nd ammendment. Just wanted to clarify that point to be “fair and balanced”
I encourage you to research Dr. Paul - you may be pleasantly surprised.
Marcelo,
Sorry, I prefer a 100% cogent candidate over the 50% one.
MItt has spent his life in service of hod fellow beings. He served a mission in france for teo years, going door to door getting cussed at. He helped many people find jesus in their life He did it without pay! He served as a bishop in boston(equal to a pastor) he did thaty for5 years, he helped people with their problems, he helped the poor and poor in spirit. NO PAY!!! He served as a stake president(in charge of many congregations for 8 years) Doing the same thing! Yes no pay. While he was serving people, he has a full time job and took care of his childred(all tured out fantastic. DO NOT BELIEVE HUCKS ANS MCLIARS LIES ABOUT ROMNEY NOT CAREING FOR THE POOR. He has done more service than many of us.
Jim,
The reason the majority of americans do not “like” his economic plan is because they don’t know about it. Dr. Paul wants to eliminate the federal income tax - I believe a majority of americans would support this. He wants to ensure Social Security doesn’t get plundered while ensuring benefits for those already in the system while letting the younger generation opt out. That sound pretty popular to me.
Dr. Paul’s voice is being silenced, do the research on his positions and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Why,would you tell me,would anyone think that, by Huckabee dropping out of the race, that it would help Romney….these are Christian evangelicals that we’re talking about here….We’ve been called Bigots here on these blogs, because we refuse to hold to Mormon beliefs, and then say something about it….Mike apologized for asking the question about Jesus relationship to Satan, but the apology Did not mean that He was telling an un truth,it simply meant that He was sorry that He mentioned it….Then came the myriad of remarks by the Utah crowd, that was uncalled for because what was said was in fact the truth….And you people think Mitty Boy would get the votes…….Take your temperature for goodness sake, you must have a fever…I’d vote Democratic before I’d throw a vote away to Romney, and I’ve been voting for 50 plus yrs,and conservative every time…..For somebody to even suggest that after some of the remarks I’ve read, tells me that there are a lot of alike people out there that are being lead around by the rings in their noses, and aren’t aloud to think for themselves…..Go Huckabee!!!!!!
Jim,
Touche! I wish Dr. Paul were more assertive and had some of the presentation qualities Rv. Huckabee has.
The real issue though in this thread is how biased the media is and how they have decided that this is only a 2 man race. Some here are screaming that this is a 3 man race, I say it is a 4 man race…just a difference of degree…..
God Bless.
Mike Huckabee, I believe, is the only choice that true conservative Republicans can, in good conscience, make and remain faithful to themselves and their core values. He believes with absolute conviction that the first responsibility of government is to protect the American people. Our country must prevail in our fight against radical Islamics who want to destroy us.
As a pro-life, pro-lower tax conservative Republican, who believes in the Second amendment, he also believes that one of the greatest ongoing threats to our constitutional republic is the politicization of the federal judiciary. The role of a judge is to interpret the law, not to legislate from the bench; as president, he has pledged to only appoint men and women who share this view.
As we move forward please consider joining the campaign to elect Mike Huckabee for President. As a true authentic conservative, he has a vision to bring hope, opportunity and prosperity to all Americans.
Crankey,
I’m curious. If Rv. Huckabee would drop out, would you not vote for Dr. Paul before voting democratic? I know I’m not voting for McCain or Romney, but I would vote for Rv. Huckabee. What would your reasoning be?
Thanks.
Go Huckabee!
McCain has had MANY years to make a change. He has been in the position and HAS NOT done so. He is a liberal and does not have a good track record.
As for Romney, to say he is a conservative is a joke. He is merely pretending to be. His supporters need to do some of there own homework and not believe everything that mainstream media or Romney want them to believe. Here are a couple of his quotes.
“I will preserve and protect a women’s right to choose and am devoted and dedicated to honoring my word in that regard”
“We do have tough gun laws in Massachusetts; I support them. I won’t chip away at them; I believe they protect us and provide for our safety.”
“I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. I’m not trying to return to Reagan-Bush”
Sounds a bit different from what you are hearing today. He is untrustworthy. His supporters also need to look into his background. They also need to find out what his being morman (AKA LDS-Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) would mean to our country if he were elected. You obviously have no idea.
Romney has risen to the highest levels of local priesthood power. He also served a 30 month stint as an LDS missionary, which is the ‘gold standard’ for LDS young men. A successfully returned LDS missionary is the Mormon equivalent of a Congressional Medal of Honor winner.
In preparation for going on his mission, Mitt Romney would have had to “take out his endowments” in the LDS temple. While it is much too complicated to explain all that entails, suffice it to say that it involves much ritual and ritual drama that teaches certain sacred things to worthy LDS that ‘gentiles’ (non-Mormons) are never supposed to know. These include tokens and words which permit them to enter the highest degree of heaven. (There are 3 degrees of heaven in Mormonism. Only worthy temple Mormons make it to the highest heaven and are thereby eligible to become gods.)
Here is the oath of ‘Obedience to the Law of Sacrifice.’ This is one all faithful temple Mormons have sworn. In part it says…
‘As Jesus Christ has laid down his life for the redemption of mankind, so we should covenant to sacrifice all that we [I] possess, even our [my] own lives [life] if necessary, in sustaining and defending the Kingdom of God.’
This is just a small taste of the worrisome rituals that take place inside the LDS. America had the knowledge to forsee this problem when his father ran for President, why are they having such a hard time now? DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!
By CNN almost excluding two of the candidates in last night’s debate, everyone had a good look at how Socialism works. How is that working for you?
Fox news is the only one taking votes away - away from Huckabee. I’m so sick of hearing Sean, Rush, O’Reilly promote their boy Mitt. Whatever happened to fair and balanced? There are still four candidates in the race, actually five (Alan Keyes), but Faux news makes it sound like Romney and McCain are the only ones running. It’s amazing that Faux news can brainwash so many people with their biased reports. At least Ron Paul and Huckabee supporters are smart enough not to belief everything they hear!
Ray,
I consider Dr. Paul to be a conservative but you state that Rv. Huckabee is the only choice for conservatives. What makes in your view Dr. Paul less of a conservative than Rv. Huckabee? The only major difference I see among each’s position is the timing of withdrawal from Iraq.

Its so funny when people talk carp abbout mormon and 99% never investigated the chruch, saw missionary or even step foot in lds chruch
Here is some facts. http://www.lds.org
you outa be ashamed of yourself! The funny this is the church is doing well 13 million + members and growing. Its funny all this anti-mormon rhetoric always back fairs on people somehow.
THis is why people are turned off by huckabee. People like you.
“THou shalt not judge”"
Huckabee is a spoiler in this race. If he really cared about a conservative winning the White House instead of McCain, McAmnesty, McLiberal, he would endorse Romney and ride to a conservative win. He knows the numbers now show he is dramatically losing support even in the South and his stubbornness to insist he can win is selfish. It is almost as if Huckabee and McCain have cut a back door deal. I noticed in the last two debates that McCain has never said anything negative about Huckabee. This is very serious. Huckabee needs to find religion and drop out for the sake of conservatism and the preservation of our nation.
Jim,I don’t doubt for one moment that Romney did all these nice things, and i don’t doubt that He is a Bishop(equal to a pastor)….but why then after the win in Michigan did you people post things saying you wouldn’t vote for a minister or Pastor, and name Huckabee in particular…..Why if a Bishop is equal to a Pastor, would you think I should vote for Him….I think its because you believe you have to work for your final reward,,,,I believe that it is by Grace…which means “Gift”.Is that why its ok to vote for a Bishop, because its a duty
There’s a big difference there, apparantly, but not so much a difference between a Pastor and Bishop…You say don’t vote for a Pastor, but its ok to vote for a Bishop……..It sounds like desperation to me
There are about 20% of his views that are so far right they almost approach left again. I can’t get too excited about promoting an isolationist foreign policy. Some of his monetary policies are mostly right, but there is enough wrong with them that it screws the whole thing up. He’s not all wet, just too wet for me.
Just a little inside info from a person a person who has whitnessed rituals firsthand. Harsh tones you are taking. Truth rubbing you the wrong way. I have plenty more inside information Mormon’s don’t want outsider’s to know. Once again, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. What you will find will change your vote from Romney. I do not believe that a President should be determined upon religion, but when a LCD and a muslim are trying to take office at the same time in different parties, I get scared. No christian would EVER vote for a Mormon if they truly Knew what it meant to be a Mormon. I have only one God.
“The path forward seems clear” ?!?! for what? taking votes away from Romney to make sure we have a RINO candidate? Still waiting for McCain to have his Howard Dean moment.
Don’t you love the fair & balanced news we get in this country. “its a 2 man race”, yet on the front of this website the rpc poll shows Romney & Huckabee within 1.5% of each other. Yes that’s right. Apparently 1.5% throws Huckabee out of the race according to the media. Unbelievable
Unbelievable that there is bickering about religion. Shame on you. You better wake up and connect the dots about what is important. Here we had a President (Clinton) who was performing unusual “acts” in the Oval Office and no one seemed to care that he had no soul. What kind of religion does McCain or Guilliani practice? Look at people’s actions and how they have live their lives. Good grief. McCain uses 4-letter words to greet his opponents, Guilliani has had multiple affairs and no one seems to get emotional about these things. Next thing you’ll be talking about is peoples underwear…
It’s time for Romney to drop out of this race and endorse the most consistent conservative remaining… Huckabee.
Romney is being propped up in the media, but a serious analysis of the electoral votes shows he has NO chance of winning the nomination at this point. He won’t play strong enough in the South, and McCain pretty much has much of the West coast wrapped up.
If Romney would get behind Huckabee, who is more consistently conservative than he, we could have a chance to stop McCain AND get a conservative we could be proud of, who truly represents the PEOPLE instead of the entrenched powers, into the White House.
Pam,
The Faux News didn’t say who they were Fair & Balanced for.
If Huckabee loses which looks more and more likely every day, I will not be voting Republican this fall. I have been a life-long Republican and a conservative. There is no way that I will supsport John McCain or Mitt Romney, both liberals, (Romney more than McCain). Mike Huckabee has been the only true conservative in this race and although Ron Paul has his finger on the pulse of the economic and monetary policy in this country, he lacks the communication skills to impress his positions. Also, Ron is “flat wrong” on his proposal to pull the troops out of Iraq before we and the Iragis are victorious. John McCain is arrogant and lacks the leadership skills to sit in the White House and Romney is just another eastern establishment liberal, now claiming to be a conservative.
Well, thank you Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Imgraham, et.al for mercilously bashing Mike Huckabee throughout this campaign. You should all be proud of yourselves for dividing the Republcan Party and in all liklihood, you have manage to destroy the solid base of the Republican Party; Not the Club For Growth greed mongers, but, the old lline Reagan Democrats and the working middle class for whom the Republican Party have always counted on to support the conservative platforms of our party. The media and the three talking heads mentioned above are a disgrace to the American politic and I would encourage true conservatives to never listen to their programs ever again.
Yes, it looks like the Socialist/Marxist movement is on a roll and will in all liklihood take over the White House and Congress this November. Hillary and/or Obama will trash this nation and all the young and old liberal idealists will at long last have the Socialism that they have long for; yes, Socialism! As in Karl Marx/Lenninist doctrines. We can kiss this Republic and our democratic principles goodbye.
The Reagan Doctrine is Dead! Mike Huckabee fought hard and will continue to fight up to the very end to ressurrect the ideals of Reagan.
RON PAUL………….
@Melanie Stanley
And here I thought this was the United States of America, where we had freedom of religion, seperation of Church and State. Maybe you should stop trying to cut a man down for his religion, being the only reason that you are doing it is because you have no better reason to berate a very qualified candidate. A family man, a succesful business man, a man of high moral values, and an extremely intelligent and educated man. Fight with facts, not bigotry. I have done my own research.
Marcello,I said that because some of the folks here suggest that you are, voting liberal,by voting for Huckabee,as far as Mr Paul goes,He understands the Constitution better than most of the people in the Race….However, and I’m not being argumentive,We have a very serious threat,on our hands,in the likes of IRAN,who wants to eliminate Israel and it allies(that means us)its just a little to late for the Diplomatic approach. One reason being,is that the leaders of Iran, because of sanctions, are letting their own people suffer thru starvation,in some cases, and the lack of other necessities,in order to have the weapons of mass destruction to kill us,they are on a mission…….bringing the troops home all at once as he suggests, and depending on diplomacy,is not the answer…smart man but as far as national security goes,I don’t care for Him
Hannity talked with John Zogby and Scott Rasmussen today on his program, for those who don’t know they are two of the most respected and well-known pollsters in America.
They both agreed that Mike Huckabee does not have a chance to win the nomination, and that his staying in splits the conservative vote and makes it much more likely for McCain to win.
So those who are voting for Huckabee, you’re vote is going to McCain. I hope you can live with yourselves knowing that!
Zogby and Rasmussen also both said Obama is getting more and more likely to be the nominee of the Democratic party. If he goes up against McCain, there will be no contest whatsoever!!! Obama will wipe the floor clean with John McCain!! If you can’t see that, you are dillusional!!!
Mitt Romney is the only candidate who can win Obama, he has the same message about changing Washington. Can match Obama in intelligence and personality, but can beat him on experience as an executive, a leader, on economics, etc. etc. It would still be a tough fight, but Romney has a WAY better chance of beating him than McCain would!
VOTE FOR STRONG NEW LEADERSHIP!!! VOTE FOR MITT ROMNEY!!!
Folks, lets get real. If McLiberal doesn’t get enough votes for the nomination, then he will have to beg for Romney’s, Huckabee, or maybe even Ron Paul’s. There is no reason for any of these to drop out if the sum total of the three isn’t enough for the nomination. Huckabee was in second place for deligates last time I checked. Certainly this is far too soon for the most money wise and thrifty candidate, Huckabee, to drop out. He should continue as long as he has money to run. Which the way he spends it, should be quite a while. Maybe in the end Huck and Mit will have to team up to prevent McLiberal, but if you are serious, it really doesn’t matter right now since the deligate distribution is not winner take all in most places.
NOT ONLY IS HE THE BETTER MAN, but he has accomplished more with less than any other candidate in the race, which if you think about it: ISN’T THAT REALLY WHAT WE SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR IN A PRESIDENT?
Go Mike!
A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. Unless he’s delusional, he must know this. Why then doesn’t he do the right the and get out?
To D. Walker
See the comment above yours
Huckabee did it to himself. He doesn’t know the position of pakisatn. He took some shots at president bush”bunker mentality” LAst time i checked bushes foriegn policy is way better than huckabees. Most republicans like bush(that will make you lose votes). He make wise crack remarks about mormons. He said” i will pull off this ad of Gov romney. If i did show it, this is what it looks like”(hypocritical. His remarks about the confederate flag hurted him. All of this baggage finally registered into people minds.
Mcain or Romney
To Conservative Conservationist, Melanie, Ray, Dan, C King, Scout, Dawg and other Huckabee kool-aid drinkers:
Can you please explain to me how you think that Huckabee is a conservative?
Clearly he gets high marks as a social conservative for his strong stance against abortion and same-sex marriage. But his support for scholarships for children of illegals isn’t really a conservative position. Nor is his ducking of the question in the debate last night about children of illegals being citizens. Yes, the Supreme Court has ruled on that, but guess what, they also ruled on Roe vs. Wade and that hasn’t stopped him. Poor excuse. And frankly, his comments (and many of yours) on religion are highly offensive, inaccurate, and most importantly UN-CHRISTIAN (take that as hypocritical).
He gets very low marks as a fiscal conservative. He raised taxes- a lot. His plan to stimulate the economy? Build roads??? That sounds way too much like FDR and the New Deal. Doesn’t he realize that the private sector is far better at creating jobs than the government? His constant animosity towards Romney because of his wealth shows he clearly does not understand how a free market economy works and the conservative ideal of work hard and get paid for it.
It is hard to judge how Huckabee rates as a security conservative. His original plan for illegals was not conservative. He has the right idea on Iraq- but because he is tied so closely to McCain he doesn’t get the same attacks on lack of military and foreign affairs experience as Romney. It is easy to say “I’ll meet you at the gates of hell”, it is something else to know how to deal with foreign leaders.
So, in terms of the three legs of Reagan conservatism, Huckabee gets at best a 1.75. He is a great debater, but so was Bill Clinton. The ability to speak well does not translate to having good, consistent policies. We don’t need a preacher. We don’t need someone who attacks Mormons as a cult because next it will be Catholics, then Jews and then any non-Evangelical.
That hypocrisy and un-Christlike action shows just how un-principled Huckabee is. Not to mention his top 10 finish for most corrupt politicians of 2007 by Judicial Watch.
And Dawg, check out the RCP page on this Fox website and you see that on average Romney has 20.3% and Huckabee 18.8%. And the pollsters that have been close to accurate this season, like Rasmussen have Romney at 28% and Huckabee at 19%.
If you don’t like Romney, fine. But take your hypocrisy, jeolousy, lies and vitriol elsewhere.
Melanie,
As a member of the LDS church, I do not have to do my own research to know you don’t know what you are talking about!
Just because a religion is different from yours and may seem a little peculiar does not make it evil or bad! Some of your churches traditions seem awfully strange to me as well, but guess what, I don’t hate you or your church!
I know you are probably a good person trying to live right, and follow Christ, and raise a good family in this increasingly evil world, just like me!
Everybody wants to count Huckabee out, the fact is he is only a few delegates behind Romney. Did you notice in the debate last night that McCain and Romney acted like two spoiled children; while Huckabee was dignified. He is even according to history, the most qualified and a true conservative. Like he stated last night, he is the only candidate that has maintained a pro-life stance with consistancy. Did anybody notice that Nancy Reagan came up just before the debate and held Huckabee’s arm. She won’t go public with a verbal statement; but it is rumored that she believes that Huckabee more represents how her husband was. Thus she gave the noverbal clue on live television. I know people get tired of hearing this, but Romney belongs to a religious group that is totally guided by a prophet in Utah. Just last summer 2 Mormons came to my house, they were excited to tell me that their prophet in Utah was about to make a live broadcast, to inform them what to do next. The fact is, Romeny is a pretty rich boy trying to buy his way to the White House, McCain according to his voting record is a liberal in sheeps clothing. My son who is in the Air Force in Little Rock has seen first hand Huckabee’s job in Arkansas. He has turned that state around. The conclusion is, get behind Huckabee, shock America. One last thing, notice that Romney has spent millions of his own money and millions of others money on this campaign, with all of that, Huckabee is only a few delegates behind him and has only had about 2 to 3 million to work with. That that theology to the White House, he is a true conservative republican, he can work with less, less tax revenue, Romney is used to spending, spending, spending, so who is really the better manager of finances?
Zogby and Rasmussen both said on Hannity that Huckabee has no chance to win! Plain and Simple!
Hannity is calling for Huckabee to get out of the race, and quit making a clear path for McCain to win!
Zogby and Rasmussen both said that Romney only needs a few % points of conservatives to move over from Huckabee to be able to win, do the right thing folks, if you want a choice between a liberal and a conservative, we have to vote for Romney!
McCain vs. a liberal is a choice between two liberals! NO TO MCCAIN!!!
IF YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO VOTE FOR A CONSERVATIVE IN NOVEMBER—-YOU NEED TO CAST YOUR VOTE FOR MITT ROMNEY ON TUESDAY!!!
