Clinton-Obama Love Fest in La La Land?
A sign of things to come for this debate?
Obama started off by saying, “I was friends with Hillary Clinton before we started this campaign, I will be friends with Hillary Clinton after this is over.”
“We’re running a competitive race, but it’s because we both love this country,” he said. But he did get in a jab: “I think what is at stake right now is whether we are looking backwards or we are looking forwards. I think it is the past versus the future.”
And Hillary Clinton used a line she often breaks out on the stump — saying, “on January 20, 2009, the next president of the United States will be sworn in on the steps of the Capitol;” but rather than saying she hopes to be that president, she included her Democratic rival. “I, as a Democrat, fervently hope you are looking at that next president,” she said. “Either Barack or I will raise our hand and swear to uphold the Constitution of the United States.”
Most of the first third is about health care, and is a substantive, civil debate on policy differences — and that’s most likely by design. Obama reporter Bonney Kapp says a senior Obama aide cautioned reporters that this debate would likely be less acrimonious than the previous affair in South Carolina.

Thank goodness for Hillary Clinton. Mush Mouth Obama just cannot give a plan.
Hillary already sounds like she is president.. She is a strong, intelligent person and soooo deserving of winning the democratic nomination.
GO HILLARY ^^
She has done nothing in the past, controlled nothing individually, has not personally accomplished anthing, has not faced any crisis. So who needs her????
What about what the “majority” of “Americans” want? We want the illegal situation solved without giving them “benefits”. With all the talk of saving homes now what about all of the millions who have already lost everything? What is going to be done about all of the “gang” activity on our streets? When will our government wake up, it is no longer about us, it is and has always been about the more fortunate and almighty powerful.
We need her Warren..back up your accusations with some factual facts. Geeze, you sound like Obama now!
VOTE FOR HILLARY!
i live in FL and believe me when the presidential nominee comes around democrats are gonna run florida.
i voted for hillary
In this election we must look at global and international issues, problems. Our standing in the world is low. I believe Sen. Obama will be the more respected president internationally. My vote is for Barack!
Hillary is just a well trained liar, she truly lies about only raising taxes for individuals with income of over $250,000 as does Oboma. Their plan assumes (incorrectly) that every tax payer over the $250,000 income bracket actual PAYS their taxes! this is not the case and Hillary and Bill are excellent examples of tax payers who do not pay the percentage of taxes they are suppose to (see http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff241455.htm).
So now we promise health care to every citizen (yes even the crimals, prostitues, illegal aliens and pimps who live outside of our tax laws) but we don’t get the revenue to cover it because so many people live outside of our tax code, so what do we do, of course, TAX EVERYONE over $70,000 per year.
Mark my words, if Hillary wins, or economy will die shortly after.
Don’t be foolish,, think for yourselves
These democrats crack me up. They live a pipe dream and some of you actually believe it. Do you really think that there plans of giving illegals classes on English (at the taxpayers expense) , Healthcare for every American, whether they are criminals or not, is going to help the working taxpaying family. You have got to be kidding. I don’t know a successful businessman or women who would be stupid enough to vote for either of them
Vote for a fair tax and vote for someone who will make every American pay their share!!
Hillary clearly won this debate. She answered the questions before she rambled into the talking points. Obama, however, was everywhere. I’m not sure he answered a single question that they asked him.
I thought it telling that Wolf Blitzer took a low blow on Hillary over her reply about Iraq, but every single opening from Obama (and there were many) was ignored.
lol stop whinning u make 70,000 a year i dont even make 12,000.
and im an american citizen never been arrested
My first preference is Obama, then Hillary, then McCain. I’d cringe a bit, but I’d even take Romney as long as we get rib of Bush and his neocon con artists! Worst President Ever!!
Mark from TN.. I am thinking of myself and my family as well as the rest of my fellow Americans and that’s why I voted for Hillary and I will vote for her again when she wins the democratic nomination!
Obama won this debate hands down. To say otherwise, is to deny the truth. Clinton is indeed a rehearsed liar, liar, liar!
They both did a GREAT job. My vote is with Hillary, however. She has a much more broad grasp of the many issues. I hope she wins and chooses Obama as a running mate.
Dude hillary killed obama
Huckabee’s idea for a national sales tax has a nice simple sound to it, but how can it be in forced. The way i see it, folks who are less law abiding will simply starting doing business on a cash basis. Especially service/construction businesses where such a thing is easy to do.
Ex-Hillary Supporter, how did he win? By rambling for the entire time? You do not win a debate by tripping over yourself over and over.
Obama could not get anything out about his actual plans. All he got out was the same hollow rhetoric. Clinton proved that she knows the problem, she knows what she wants to do, and she’s ready to do it.
Obama just wants to do something.
If you haven’t guessed it I’m not for Hillary or Obama. It is just unfortunate that the Republicans are letting the unabashed media (NYT, NBC, CNN) manipulate McCain into the nomination..he can’t beat her. This debate was a love fest.
As a Californian of 20 years I’ve never seen so many of us in tie and jackets as those in the audience at Kodak. ..;.probably arranged by the DNC who sees it as a plus???
As I’ve previously stated, neither one has had experience in multi faceted situations where the one who makes the ultimate decision has the knife over his/her neck. Senators are always part of a group and can point to others when the reckoning comes …CEO’s and Governors can’t. Amen
Hillary wiped the floor with Obama! As usual Obama stumbled through his answers and did not even stick with the topic at hand. Hillary was just more believable and had absolutley no problem answering any questions.
After tonight, Hillary has my vote for sure…. Oh yes!!
What the Republicans are having a hard time with is that there are 2 intelligent, articulate, idea driven Democrats running for office. They are used to meaningless pandering, invoking credibility through false comparisons to God (excuse me I meant Reagan), and whipping off that old favorite_bigotry, in their candidates. Oh yeah, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, etc.
Maybe it will be a hard time for awhile for the corporations counting on that steady stream of corporate welfare. Maybe the super wealthy won’t be able to get that new corporate jet at taxpayer expense. You’ll get used to it. The pendulum swings. And remember, when DeLay and Rove were planning that Republican majority to run through the next century, that those changes will help the Democrats stay in power. As the old saying goes…. What goes around, comes around.
To see a very funny parody of the Princess Bride with Mitt Romney and Governor Huckabee go to http://www.conservativesformitt.blogspot.com It’s amazing how much saying Huckabee looks like saying Humperdink…
It’s only la la land if they nominate Hillary. She has a base, older white females. Beyond that base, the only thing she attracts is opposition.
Those who say that McCain cannnot beat Hillary are deceiving themselves. She can’t even control a question about Bill Clinton, never mind control him in real life. All of Bill’s post-presidential record is going to come under scrutiny (rightly so, he is running alongside her). But goodness, when they start looking under that rock . . . what a gift to the GOP!
Hillary cannot win in November.
Mark,
Have you ever been to Europe? They have a VAT (Value-Added Tax) that is added to all products. The sales tax proposal is similar. The “contractors working on cash only” argument applies to today’s system since they can report lower income on their tax return and avoid income tax. The sales tax would not even apply to services like construction.
Unfortunately I think Hillary will galvanize the conservative right to get out and vote even though they are pleased with neither McCain or Romney.
Florida is pretty red place to live and many republicans hate Billary to the same level that others hate Bush.
I’m tired of the SOS and have voted for Obama.
As a Black man, Barack Obama CONTINUES to make me VERY PROUD.
http://osi-speaks.blogspot.com/2008/01/as-black-man-i-can-say-that-barack.html#links
I thought the debate was little too cordial. Before this debate, I was leaning towards Obama but now I am not sure. But, one thing that irks me is him belaboring the war issue. I was also opposed to the war before but I was lucky to have been right. I could have been wrong too, if they had found WMD in Iraq or a serious Al Qaida connection.
The notion of being right on day-1 is a meaningless point. He doesnt know the future and he is probably going to be more wrong than right — I know I am. If he can guarantee that he will always be right, he has my vote. But, I would need some divine proof points for that.
hillary/obama will guarantee and democrat victory
Both Barrack & Hillary have lost my vote because their position on the Illegal Immigration Issue.
It would cost less to deport the Illegal’s as we are paying for all their needs such medical, educating their children and allowing them to access our welfare system.
I will cast my first Republican vote for Romeny for his stand on this issue. I am outraged that all the politicians are just ignoring the American people on this issue. They will do what they want no matter what the Polls say.
I AGREE. WE ALL KNOW THE REPLUBLICANS WILL HAVE A FIELD DAY WITH BILL. SO VOTE OBAMA. WHAT DOES SOMEONE FROM CALI THINK ABOUT DEBATE? I SAY BARACK WON.
Heh. Gotta love dynasties. America, the new Rome.
Makes me sick.
what an awful blurb.
two paragraphs that is pure speculation and then two sentences about the debate?
please…there are blogs better than this.
Denny
You are one of those psuedointellectuals, unrealistic, impractical headline readers….None of what any of them are saying (as far as programs/issues) can be done without other people who have a multiplicity of interests. The issues of today are complicated. You probably believe that it’s just the radical Muslims that are the world’s problem…it’s in their religion and involves the moderate as radical Muslims. Read Bernard Lewis’ (Prof at Princeton) “What Went Wrong”–don’t worry it’s a really thin book….WAKE UP!!
Obama is nothing more than a articulate, naive flim flam man who, if he becomes president, will do so because “it’s time for a black man to become president”
vmcgreen,
You obviously did not see the election results for Florida, you silly. Hillary creamed Obama here in Florida in the primary election. Even though our votes did not count, they will count during the presidential election. In the meantime, our voices were heard, loud and clear!
And to brooks of sheffield,
I am not an old white lady and I voted for Hillary. That was a pretty sexist comment so I will just ignore your post, as I am sure others will as well. Shame on you, your mommy should slap you!
Hillary will win the nomination ~~ watch and see!!
Of course KY juris doctor….racism is alive and well!
I do not understand Hillary’s comment on making illegal (undocumented) workers pay back-taxes, “underscore.” These undocumented workers already pay taxes via deductions on their paychecks. She feels that they are underpaid, yet, she wants to charge taxes to someone who cannot even file a tax return at the end of the year. Get screwed not once, but twice.
Though the more simple minded people may make the dynasty argument, intelligent people know that last name should never matter more than issues.
And, for the record, you can do a lot worse than having two great Democrats like the Clintons who brought this country to prosperity.
I could also care less about this soothsaying crap saying Clinton will do badly simply because she’s divisive. She’s still the better of the two candidates, so bring the Republicans are. They’re scared of her because they know that she will not make it easy.
Okay Rachel…bye bye now!!
miryam, they do not pay taxes on checks, as most are paid “under the table”. They do pay local taxes, however.
I love our country. I voted for Reagan twice. President Reagan was a leader that loved our nation and all of it’s people.
During the last 7 years, I as a politically engaged individual must make a conscience choice on what course of action is required by our nation as which candidate best represents “our nations” best overall interest. Last week based on all the meaningful facts, I chose to switch political parties from GOP to Democratic.
Furthermore, in my judgment… I believe Hillary Clinton is our best candidate right now in our history.
So, I said it! And I’m all in! … My wish is that all Americans engage the political process and more importantly there minds.
Go Hillary Go!
Hillary and Obama are the same old liberals singing the same old song and sleeping in the same bed. Why should they bother to have a primary when we all know these two will pick each other as running mate regardless of who wins as Nominee.
I’m serious at the end of the debate I almost thought they were going to kiss.
Miryam
Get with it, most “illegals” don’t pay fed/state/ Soc sec/ Workers comp etc taxes…get real. The only tax they do pay is sales tax.
Your a smart man Randy! Whoo Hoooo!
I know no one reads all of these but this is what I have noted tonight and in the past.
Tonight:
DRAW
Overall…
OBAMA
Why?
There are people that are for the establishment and people that symbolize somehing more for the new world. Obama wins this debate.
Choose of course based on your feelings about the situations but the best decision for AMERICA and THE WORLD is.. OBAMA.. maybe Ron Paul.. not HRC.
Warren
I guess I got it right on the nose. You like your candidates to be simple, binary thinkers. Right or wrong, black or white. Your bigotry shows through. Reading a book doesn’t make you intelligent, especially if you only read what you want to believe. Yes, things are complicated. That is why we need intelligent leaders, not idealogues. You feel safe in the comfort of the “sheep” that make up the Republican Party and specifically the conservatives who operate on the shallow formula of simplistic discourse.
Edwards was the best candiate the Democrats had. I was planning on voting for him. Hillary is way to divisive. And I’m still not sure what she is talking about when she brags on her experience. She acts like she was Vice President or something.
Can any of you really see Hillary bringing Americans together? Can anyone honestly see her as a healing force in the country? I can’t see either of those ever being reality. Hillary will make the divide in the country even worse. It’s time for the Clintons to go home. Enough is enough. I’m tired of the Bush family and the Clinton family.
Obama is very inspiring and would help usher in a new day in America. But I really don’t think he’ll get the nomination. The Clinton machine is just too strong.
At the end of the day McCain is the best of the candidates left in the field.
I’m going with McCain and I think he’ll beat Hillary or Obama. McCain has real experience and is a different kind of Republican than GW Bush. McCain is my pick for 2008!
Jack, they do get paid by checks, the majority of them do. However, it is usually under an assumed identity and SSN. This blogging stuff is pretty cool!
Hillary killed it tonight. Even my Obama friends admitted it.
I think its telling when Hillary supporters talk about the great job ‘the Clintons’ did running the country in the 1990’s. Bill was the president, not Hillary, so stop running on Bill’s record.
obama/clinton; clinton/obama; who cares. that is the only meaningful and hopeful ticket for the democrats. the voters will decide the order but the former is my preference. time will tell…… and i will respect the voters decision. God bless America.
Hillary Clinton crushed him, she acted like she’s the president already and made Obama agreing with her on most issues. She spoked without hesitation you can’t say otherwise for Obama. Look listen I’m affrican american I would love to see a black president in my lifetime but the fact is the matter Obama is not ready. I’ll be his number 1 supporter in 2016 when he’s a lock to win.
miryam, then you propose that they be allowed to NEVER pay taxes despite having used the resources prior to the date? Why should someone be allowed to use resources for years, and never have to pay for it at all?
As for those still trying to say Obama won, he didn’t. His only decent moment was when he pretended that Hillary’s Iraq vote magically means that she is now unqualified and he is qualified because he didn’t support it.
Many people supported the move into Iraq, many were wrong, and there’s no reason to pretend that supporting Iraq means you cannot lead. It means you were wrong, and you can still fix the error.
Obama may always think that he will be right, but I guarantee that he will not. He WILL be wrong, once, on day one.
Yes LOn, I can see Hillary bringing Americans together and that’s what she is doing. She understands all the problems us Americans are facing and she wants to fix it.
Obama just is not ready or experienced enough to run this country… Sorry! If you had to have a life saving surgury would you want a doctor with 35 years of experience or a doctor with just a few years of experience? I think we all know the answer to that question!
I though Obama won all rounds actually - I don’t know why people are saying Hillary did better. Hillary rattles off lots of details to make it seem like she knows more but if you cut away the chatter to the key points she could save a lot of her breath. I would imagine a lot of people find it hard to follow her sometimes, particularly when using acronyms, so not following her well they assume it is because she is smarter. Obama gets more to the point and I think he made his points clearly - this is what you need to communicate to a diverse public. I thought it was quite a controlled debate by the people running it - I think they steered it a lot so it wasn’t very free flow and shifted as the people controlling it wanted it shifted.
Oh and to the person who won’t vote either Hillary or Obama on the immigration issue - cos your only other choice is likely to be McCain I’m guessing you will just be staying at home and not voting at all then - because McCain is heavily involved in immigration reform, spearheading you might even say.
Sorry Jay, too late.. CNN just said that Hillary clearly won the debate!
Mr. Jack,
We elect leaders for their expertise. It is their job to have good judgement. They may make a wrong choice. Hey, we are all human. If they do not inform themselves well, do not do their homework, they will make many more errors of judgement. She has said that she was lied to by the White House, true. The whole world believes that. Impeach him, if that is true. Bad judgement. Plenty of it to go around. them in office to do theirr job. Her MISTAKE came at a heavy price. She tried healthcare, great job. I do a with you on this, undocumented workers should have to file a tax return. I would bet that most deserve a nice return.
After the war criminals Bush Cheney it was like a fresh brise both lovely
I realize this is a FOX site and therefore, the comments posted should be taken in that light. However, I have to say that people have very short memories. Hillary had a chance to work through some big issues in Washington and she fell flat on her face. Why would we want that again? And those tears the other day–PLEASE, is that what we can expect in a tough situation. And how dare her call Barack on playing the race card when she had no problem playing the female card first. How can she talk about the importance of breaking the glass ceiling, as a woman and ignore that that same glass ceiling exists for Obama. And how about the pledge the candidates made to not campaign in both Michigan and Florida? What the heck was she doing down there–playing cards? I don’t think so….Is this who we want to trust? I can’t believe what kind of woman takes back that embarrassment of a husband? I would have more respect for her if she had the guts to have dumped the bum but NO, did she stand by her man? Of course, she did, he was her meal ticket to her political future. YUCH!! Enough of the dynasties. VOTE for OBAMA–be a SMART woman!!
Anyone who listen to this debate, heard an intelligent conversation on important policy issues. I was very impressed with the knowledge and depth of analysis by both candidates. Both Obama and Hilliary agreed that they agree 95% on the issues. Their approach my be different and their styles may be different, but each have well thought strategies and plans.
So, please …. state your preferences and have your favorites …. just don’t let your allegiance to one or the other shut down your ability to listen objectively.
Thank you!
These two Democratic candidate are DREAMY…dangerously Dreamy. Did we not learn anything from the US position during the thirties? If we would have invested our treasure early on, when evil first showed itself, we could have prevented Hitlers rise at the outset.
HILLARY SAYS “IF I KNEW THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW” …WE’D ALL BE RICH OR BETTER OFFIF WE HAD A CRYSTAL BALL BUT UNFORTUNATELY WE DON’T …THE WORLD DOESN’T WORK THAT WAY.. DECISIONS HAVE TO BE MADE WITH THE INFO ON HAND…..WAKE UP YOU DEMOCRATS. NOBODY, WITH HALF A BRAIN, LIKES WAR… BUT YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO.
miryam, if Bush’s intelligence was right, Saddam Hussein had nukes. Now, we know that it was wrong NOW, but imagine if we did nothing and he did have nukes.
We would be singing a different tune. So it wasn’t a huge lapse of judgment, it was just wrong in hindsight.
James from Texas - “Do you really think that *** there *** plans of giving illegals classes on English (at the taxpayers expense…)”
YOU crack me up. I think that you may want to learn English yourself before posting ignorant comments on websites.
b-objective, I listened objectively. Obama said nothing. Absolutely, positively nothing.
For those of you that are less than enamored with this administration, you may want to look at this website. Lots of work has gone into it. Too bad more Americans don’t get to see the information put in such easy to understand form.
http://www.netrootsmass.net/Hugh/Bush_list.html
You would probably LOVE IT, Warren.
Makes it clear why 70% of the USA wants to see change. And while the 30% of Republicans and 30% of Democrats in this country like to argue over who’s better, the 40% of us outside of your parties are in-fact, choosing the next president.
Ricki,
I am a smart woman and I don’t take kindly to male sexist pigs…If you don’t like this forum or the people in it then kindly take a hike. Oh…can you grab Obama and take him with you when you leave? Thanks!
Warren, Warren, Warren,
There you go again, showing that you have memorized all of the talking points. Think for yourself, man. Or, is it too late. Were talking about ideas and what is good for our country and you are off flailing your GOP again.
The author of this article should learn to spell.
I always liked Bill Clinton. I do not like Bill and Hillary together. As we saw in SC, Hillary wants to win at any cost, she obviously believes the end justifies the means. The idea of that mentality in the highest office in this country is downright scary.
Change isn’t whether it is a first woman president or a first African American president - that is an event, a milestone in this country, and it WILL come to pass this November. I believe Barak Obama is the best candidate to effect real, lasting change in this country - finally!
I can’t believe Wolf let Hillary off scott-free, just liike that! I mean, no follow up to her oft-repeated “35 years in public service” on serving on the Walmart Board and not standing up for the unions, on her hubby’s speaking in tongues about Barry’s record, on the lows of the Clinton era, etc. etc.
I can tell you this much: she didn’t win this Independent’s vote!
This country needs change. How will the Clintons be able to change the country if all the Republicans fight her all the way on the issues. Given the history of the clintons and republicans we are looking at a party war if she gets elected. Polarization is not what this country needs. Obama can in my opinion bring new talent to washington and unite the country.
Well, I think Hillary is an awful human being. Shame on her for being who she is. This country needs, more than anything right now, a president who is black. Whether or not they really can do a presidents job or not I don’t care, just black counts this time. And Hillary is not black, period.
i wasn’t against the war when they destroyed the twin towers. they attacked us but in the end it was wrong because of the bush administration.
everybody wanted to go to war at least like 90% of the US agree at that time. none of us saw that this would come.
For your info, Southern Girl, Ricki is a female spelling and therefore, I don’t think can be categorized as a male sexist pig. Re-read what I wrote thinking of a highly educated female rather than your reading into something I am clearly not–either male or sexist. Just right.
Bush was wrong, so was she. If Bush was right, we would be electing another Rep, not Hillary.
Well, I believe that this nation was founded by men with strong convictions and love for thier newfounded land. And many men fought and died for this country; Furthermore, Biblically speaking, men have always been the head of household, the protectors, the bread winners, the visionaries, and behind every good man stands a women who inspires him to do all these attributes. I do believe that gender is important. I also believe that men are equiped differently than women. This may sound chauvinistic, but let’s be real. Look at sports in general and the world in general. Men and women have thier place. On the other hand, a men come in many shapes and forms and colors, and when you study thier capabilites they all reach heights that continue to amaze us all. Look at Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and many other Icons who have gone beyond the game. I think we should not judge a man for his color, but look at his capabilities to stir up a hunger for more than status quo, to inspire all creeds, colors, race, and nations to be more than a self centered entity but to look at what we all can do to make our nations and people give back to make thier reality a brighter tommorrow. ” ask not what your nation can do for you, but what you can do for your nation.” JFK Barrack is that man!
Jack, it seems you are not capable of removing the ear plugs when Obama speaks. A third of the debate was on health care policy. His plan did not mandate everyone to buy it. Instead he focused on reducing costs for everyone but making it mandatory for children. Hilliary’s made it mandatory for everyone. How could you not hear that … save you forgot to remove your ear plugs (figuratively). Then there was Iraq. The biggest distinction was … he was against it from the beginning …. and Hillary had a hard time explaining why her vote to authorize wasn’t a mistake. I could go … but I doubt it would do much good.
You are stuck in your view and I think it defies intelligent discourse.
Kentucky funny.. People like you are exactly what is wrong with this country! I guess it leaves nothing to the imagination that you are black. Like I said, racism is alive and well thanks to a$$holes like you!!!
I think Hillary won tonight and she is getting my vote. I am convinced that she is the best choice for President.
Southern Girl,
Oh my! Yes it is and you embody it. You should get off the blog and read you KKK magazines.
Ricki… you live in your own delusional world, I just hope you have no children to drag behind you!
Oh my… your another one that can’t read!
Come on Southern Girl,
If you can’t say anything nice, you shouldn’t say anything at all.
If you would leave the blog, the rest of us could have a serious discussion.
Wait….What are yo talking about southern girl and Kentucky funny??? I thought this was about change and uniting the country…
Yes, I am black and if you are white, you are a wrong and bad person for what you did to my people. Now it is time for you to worry about black police people taking your rights away from you.
We are going to have this country now. Obamuh can not make a country run but he can give it to us.
SOUTHERN GIRL,
You are an obvious bigot and have nothing intelligent to add to real conversation, and your tricky little dollars signs prove it. You are probably a republican at heart, if I had to venture a guess. Why bring my children into it? I have no idea how your uninformed shallow mind works but I am happy to have raised many children and they are all open, honest, non-bigoted intelligent human beings that will ALL be able to vote in the upcoming election. Go OBAMA!
Folks…
It’s all about Judgement! It’s all that really matters in the end.
(Any “plan” can be debated ad nauseam, remember, they are just that, plans, they may work, they may not, “time” tells that).
But Judgement tells character, shows what’s happened and whats most likely to happen in the future, ie; good judgement then, good judgement now.
Hillary voted for the war because she thought G’Dub’ya would make the right decisions… that’s bad judgement, there’s no other way to characterize it. For all her “experience” she didnt know G’Dub’ya was a moron right off the bat? c’mon… Judgement!!! it’s all about being able to make sound Judgements!!
Oh my…look who’s talking. You bring up the KKK and tell me not to throw insults? Please…You need to run along!
Well, Southern Girl sure fulfills the stereotype. Give peace a chance.
