John McCain’s gracious and humble comments about his narrow victory over Romney in Florida are another example of how I wish - and I think most Americans wish - politics could be done.

I think it is very sad when we begin to see civility as a sign of weakness or calculation. Perhaps it sometimes is, but we are served better if we expect it from everyone who wishes to serve as our representative. We can sort out issues of strength or duplicity in some other way.

Does having a middle mane of “Hussein” mean that a person is not as good as someone with a middle name like “Walker”? I know the name has negative connotations because of at least one famously bad person with the name, but are we not able to see that a person can not chose his own name?

It seems that using something irrelivant (like a name, or how handsome or ugly someone is, or tall or short, etc.) to try to affect the outcome of an election is immoral.
