Let us look at McCain’s conservative credentials:

-IMMIGRATION: he wrote the bill granting amnesty to illegal immigrants (co-sponsored by Ted Kennedy)
-SOCIAL SECURITY: he voted to give your social security money to illegal immigrants
-TAXES: he voted against the Bush tax cuts multiple times (he has since flip-flopped and has campaigned as a lifelong tax-cutter)
-RHETORIC: he routinely engages in Democratic class warfare against big companies in America, particularly the “evil” drug companies who research cures to debilitating diseases for a profit
-ECONOMY: as recently as December 2007 he admitted “he does not know the economy very well” and needed to get better at it
-1ST AMENDMENT: he wrote the McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill that was declared to be an unconstitutional infringement of the 1st Amendment (co-sponsored by ultra-liberal Democrat Russ Feingold)
-2ND AMENDMENT: he was called the “worst 2nd amendment candidate” by the president of the NRA
-ENERGY TAX: wrote a bill (co-sponsored by his buddy Lieberman) imposing a massive tax on energy which, according to the Department of Energy, would drastically raise the price of gasoline and put 300,000 Americans out of work
-GLOBAL WARMING: supports radical global warming legislation which involved him voting with every Democrat; think only America is responsible to take action, not other superpowers
-JUDGES: he joined forces with Democrats (Gang of 14) to block the Senate Republican’s attempt to confirm conservative, strict constructionist judges
-WAR ON TERROR: fought with Hillary Clinton to demand that terrorists be given a full American trial
-GAY MARRIAGE: he joined liberals to fight against a federal marriage amendment supporting the institution of traditional marriage
-CHRISTIANS: campaigning in 2000, he famously described Christian leaders as “agents of intolerance”
-PRO-LIFE: he filed an amicus brief against pro-life advocates in Wisconsin
-BI-PARTISANSHIP: he met with leading Democrats in 2004 to discuss the possibility of being John Kerry’s Vice-President
-PROFESSIONAL ETHICS: ringleader of the infamous Keating 5 ethical scandal which cost US tax payers $160 billion (Google it)
-PERSONAL ETHICS: McCain cheated on his first wife after she had a severe accident that left her partially disabled. He then divorced her and married his multi-millionaire mistress, whose daddy bought McCain a spot in the Congress

His plan was more in line with Huckabee. That means he is dumping his plan for McCain’s instead. What a shame.

Republican party is gone! Huckabee needs is quit and let the voters go to Romney, but it seems Huckabee is staying in because I bet both he and McCain have a deal.

This is desparate times. As a Member of the LDS church. I do not like huckabee with his bigotry mormon remarks. I think if he and ROMNEY join forces to battle the mcCain machine, its our best chance to take him out. I would be willing to cross over and forgive him. I do not like huckabee but i may be able to tolerate him. He same a few good quailties. I do like him slightly better than mcCain.

ROMNEY/HUCKABEE ticket anyone?

p.s IT will take a slice of humble pie to accomplish this.

p.s if you disagree with me(which most will) wait until super tuesday when mcCain will gather the vast majority(75%) of the SUPER tuesday states! Momentum is strong.

Comment by Jason

In the exit poll in Florida McCain won the second choice voters of Huckabee 54 percent to 32 percent over Romney.

Romney doesn’t do well among Huckabee’s evangelical supporters in the South because of the Mormon issue.

Huckabee staying in the race actually hurts McCain. Without Huckabee in the race McCain would sweep the south.

Remember Romney did so poorly in South Carolina he ran out of the state during the final days.

McCain easily beat romney among evangelicals in south carolina.

I was raised Morman and am now a Christian. I would never shift my Huckabee vote to Romney. It is a known fact that the Morman religion is a cult - see the Rick Ross site about cults and do your own research on this. If Huckabee drops out, I’d vote for McCain. I could not back someone that is part of any cult.

Last night Tom Brokaw said something to the effect of “we are seeing a redefining of the Republican party.”

The Mainstream Media and liberals are jumping with joy over the thought of John McCain being the Republican nominee! Why? Because he is more like them than any other Republican.

If he gets the nomination, it will be a redefining of our party from conservative to liberal!

Is that what Republicans really want? This man has proven himself to be a dirty politician and liar over the past week. His heroics in the past are not enough to make up for his record and flaws!

Mitt Romney is the only candidate still in this race who has actually governed anything! He is the only one with executive experience! He is the only one who has a proven record of leadership! He is the only one who has had success in fixing real problems! He is the only one with extensive knowledge of the economy! HE IS THE ONLY CONSERVATIVE!!!

With Romney’s brilliant mind, he is capable of leading and making decisions in any area of the Presidency, whether it be the economy or national security! I would trust him fully in every capacity of the job!!!

MITT ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT!!!

a christian is one who professes a belief in jesus. THis antimoron began around 150 years ago , by antimoron preachers. Its a teaching of pure hate. The people that hate other religions are no different than the jihadist in countries that hate america. There holy war is similar to yours. So stops the antimoron bigotry. Its really tearing this country apart and makes chrisatians look ignorant, when they cant even follow the simple commandment, to love one another. To not judge another. You can disagree with another religion and still respect them. You guys are acting like children.

Now on a political note. I hope somone can compete with mcCain. This republicain party is leaning to the left(currently) I think a Romney / huckabee ticket looks good(may not happen) Imagine, a baptist preacher and a mormon bishop side by side living the american dream. they have different religious beliefs but they share the same goal.

Isn’t it a pity, that our choices on both sides will simply come down to a lesser of two evils? The Republicans have the “Hardcore Christian”, “The Hardcore Mormon”, and the “Closet Racist”. The Democrats have “The old school”, and “The Politics as usual masquerading as change”.

Let me start by saying that I am a Mitt Romney supporter and I agree that he is the most conservative candidate left and I would like to see a CEO running our country’s economy vice a politician. However, Romney seems to hover around 30 to 35% of the vote. Florida was supposed to be a Republican only primary and would prove that conservatives wouldn’t support McCain. What if the GOP as we know it has shrunk to only 30% true conservatives. Maybe we can’t carry an election? I don’t want to believe this, but I am concerned. I haven’t really voted for anyone since George H.W. Bush. It’s true that I “pulled the lever” for George W. Bush, but it was more a vote for the lesser of two evils. Before folks start railing on me, I do believe in a strong national defense and support the war on terror. There are just a whole list of other things George W. Bush has done that are not conservative and I don’t agree with. When a conservative runs on a platform that he’s a uniter not a divider it doesn’t make me feel comfortable that they will hold on conservative principles, and George W. Bush did not hold on those principles. If there are enough conservatives out there to push Mitt Romney to the nomination, WHERE ARE THEY? Maybe we are the minority in America now and not the mainstream. If we are more than 30% then Mitt needs to figure out how to reach more of them than he has. He needs to get McCain on the issues, not personal and remind people how liberal McCain really is.

There are a lot of delegates at stake next week in the Super Tuesday Sweeps. A Giuliani endorsement of McCain could make a huge difference in a lot of those states. On the Real Clear Politics site McCain already has a lead in several of the big states. If most of Rudy’s followers run to McCain he will be tough to beat.

We republicans need to stand up and nominate a candidate with our conservative values. Looks like the Liberals and all the liberal media are all gleeing because we republicans cannot come up with a republican nominee who has strong conservative values. John McCain calls himself a republican, but all of his stances on values that are important to the Republican Party are all in caliboration with the Democrats. Mitt Romney is the only candidate with the Republican Party values. Mitt Romney for President of the United States. In John McCain’s words “A man of integrity, honesty and commitment”. McCain said this of Mitt Romney when Romney ran for Govornor. Now who is flip flopping when now McCain differs from his earlier statements. Wow! Mitt a man with commitment, that is very rare in todays’ politicians. Go Mitt!!!

Comment by Charlene

I agree with you Jessee - that is about what it comes down to.

I do believe everyone should vote for someone that shares their believes. I was just voicing why Huckabee supporters won’t move to Romney, it has nothing to do with hate. The Florida Exit Poll proves this though.

Comment by Kim

Mitt Romney or John McCain, it really won’t matter, a Democrat is going to win the White House. We can see for the last eight years where a Republican president has taken us.

Comment by ABQ-NM

WHERE ARE THE CONSERVATIVES OF THE GOP?

Just last evening Rudy announced that he will be endorsing McCain. Which was expected as they both share pro-liberal beliefs.

McCain is on a roll and it will be hard to stop him if we don’t get together as true conservatives.

Don’t think McCain will pick Huckabee as VP he has made so many behind the scene deals that he owes so much to so many people, here are some: Gov. Crisp, Senator Lieberman, Senator Martinez and of course Rudy, just to name a few.

If you think I am making this up, listen to Tim Russert on MSNBC making fun of McCain holding a carrot to Huckabee. (MSNBC 01/30/2008 - 12:10AM)

I agree let’s not compromise our conservative beliefs by thinking that our candidate can be VP to a liberal President.

The problem is that we don’t have much time, super Tuesday is around the corner. It is either now or never. Unite behind Mitt!!! - He has the ability to raise enough money to be competitive on Super Tuesday! But most of all he shares our values!!!

Thank you, Mitts, Hucks and Freds for all the support. Together we will rescue our party.

Dear Fred Thompson,

Please, for the love of all that is good, come out in support of Mitt Romney ahead of Super Tuesday. You could / would make a huge difference in stopping the McCainchurian Candidate.

Thanks and best regards,

A concerned GOP member

NO ROMNEY, NOT VOTING!

I would love to be able to do more for Gov. Romney!!! He’s the guy I’m pulling for. I also, like many other people have major concerns in my daily life. I have a chronic illness that is being bashed back and forth by, well, basically the “government physician experts” and Dr’s who have spent their blood, sweat, tears, and money fighting the establishment of government, insurance companies, and lawsuits by both due to the CDC’s recommendations for an illness where they themselves say their testing and research is outdated. Plain and simply, I am very ill. I’ve given some money to governor Romney’s campaign, in which I really don’t have due to medical bills, and I have INSURANCE!!!!!!!! I have to work part time, and I am debilitated. We would be considered upper middle class, and we are barely making it!!!! I did write to every email address with the RNC and GOP about my voting if Gov. Romney is not the nominee. I’m an independant who got tired of their voice not being heard. So, I registered republican!!!! It seems that still my voice is not being heard. Here’s what I can tell you. Gov. Romney’s opponents do not like him, and have devised a plan that will beat him unfairly, unless Gov. Romney rises above the frey, especially Mike Huckabee, who is a two faced fast talking. Never mind. But Gov. Romney needs to make the point to “Americans” that you cannot separate the economy from the war. If the “people” are struggling in this country, not just middle or lower class, but also, upper middle class, there is no way America can win a war. If the people are weakened by their government, economically, morally, and feel like their government runs them. We will never win any wars!!!! United we Stand, Divided we fall. He has to tie economics with the war, but show himself to be thoughtful, but not above our heads. I don’t feel that way, his opponents have labeled that on him, because they are bigots, who don’t want a “rich” person to win, or and outsider coming into Washington and changing things like a CEO would when company is hurting. Washington wants the status quo, and people are voting on so called “electability”. The core of being a republic (an), is being independant! So I simply stated this to the RNC GOP powers that be:

To whom it may concern,
I am a voter that switched from being an independant to a republican, so I could vote in the primaries. I just saw John McCain’s victory in Florida. Unfortunately, John McCain is absolutely what we do not need. If people are casting their votes based on “polls” that he can beat the democratic nominee, then the Republican party has lost their balls!!! Sorry to be so crude, but some real “straight talk” needs to be heard. For John McCain to label Mitt Romney as an attack campainee is flat false! Mike Huckabee at the Florida debate made an awful PERSONAL attack against Romney about him having money and just bow out so his sons can inherit it. That’s just as much bigotry as being racist!!!!!!!!! If anyone other than Romney is the National candidate. I am flatly stating, I don’t care who the democrat is, because they are all about the same. They are all going to ruin this country, but so would John McCain, or any other Republican running for President. I hereby state, and ask anyone I know, that I do not say something unless I mean it; I will either stay home on voting day, or vote for the democratic nominee just to stick it to the so called “establishment.

Sincerely,
Aimee Petty

The Dem’s want you to think McCanie can beat them. Given all the liberal news going on, if you think that you will be playing right into their hands. Vote your brain not the polls. I will never vote for Mc. Go Romney. He will gain much of the Huckabee supporters and Rudys’ will split between Mc and Mitt, it will be close but I think Mitt will come through to win.

I use to support Huckabee, but a vote for him now means a vote for McCain AMNESTY. Vote Romney to save the conservative movement from the New York Time’s favorite Republican, Juan McCain.
