Hillary Wishes Edwards “All The Best”
Clinton Campaign Statement on John Edwards withdrawal from the Democratic Race:
“John Edwards ended his campaign today in the same way he started it - by standing with the people who are too often left behind and nearly always left out of our national debate.
John ran with compassion and conviction and lifted this campaign with his deep concern for the daily lives of the American people. That is what this election is about - it’s about our people. And John is one of the greatest champions the American people could ask for.
I wish John and Elizabeth all the best. They have my great personal respect and gratitude. And I know they will continue to fight passionately for the country and the people they love so deeply.”
Edwards called Clinton yesterday to say that dropping out of the race today was a possibility. He called again this morning to break the news officially, and she promised to keep his core issue of poverty in America at the forefront of the campaign.
Listen to what she had to say to reporters about Edwards here:

It is about time he stepped off. He did nothing but confuse the vote anyway. I personally feel he stayed in to try and give Obama a boost, by splitting the votes with Hillary.
I think Edwards would make a good AG in either Clinton or Obama administration. He would be wise to stay neutral. As for all the Hillary bashers, admit it, she is like J.R. Ewing, rich, ruthless, the candidate you love to hate, and then vote for in the end.
I hope Edwards endorses Hillary so he can go out with some class!!
While she still had the phone in her hand she was thinking , one down , one to go. Edwards spoke about alot of issues we as Americans would rather forget about and I do respect him for that. I hope he sees the anger and hostility and condesending additude hilary projects toward everything and everybody, and supports Sen. Obama. I don’t agree with anything he believes in but I’m afraid over the last 20 to 30 years Americas conservative values have been lost. And McCain is NOT our answer. I’d rather go with Sen.Obama than McCain. at least Sen. Obama doesn’t try to project himself as a conservative, McCain does but isn’t even close.
Well, at least Hillary has some compassion and class, unlike the Obama train of lies and deception. He honestly thinks we believe that he cares whether or not Edwards dropped out? He cares as much about Edwards as he does for all the Florida voters he flipped his middle finger at!!
Obama is a fraud. Hillary will work with Edwards to help him get his word out.
I hope that the Edward voters can see that Hillary really has the best experience and strength to be the President of our country. Obama is a weak runner and says things he thinks the people want to hear. I dont trust a word of it. Go Hillary!!!
I think that Hillary will be the worst president if she gets elected (in which she won’t). Obama would be a better national leader than she would. This country will go to s***. This country will be worse than what bush is doing with it.
George Bush supports Hillary.
For he knows that Hillary is the only candidate who can be a worse President then him.
Intelligent, stately words from a woman that clearly understands the role of president. Meanwhile, Obama just said “Hey, nice to have him along so I could win.”
Hillary Clinton is truly the best choice.
I concur Jack. She is showing class as she has throughout the campaign. I bet the Obama supporters wish he could do the same thing.
I remember recently during a debate that John Edwards tried to show the difference between his and Barack’s healthcare solutions. His and Hillary’s covered everybody, Baracks left 16 million to fend for themselves. He aslo chastized him for his 130 “maybe” votes to protect himself politically. And if you recall, Barack made fun of his answer from another debate saying how staged and phony it was. Barack is crooked like all Chicago politicians. The best is yet to come. Rezko will be surpassed daily as the Republican machine starts to chew him up and spit him out. He is discounting Florida and Michigan and that is unwise. The delegates might not count but you can bet your sweet a__ they will count all those votes during the General Election. Barack is just pissing voters off by saying they don’t matter. Ted Kennedy, John Kerry. Patrick Leahy….. So much for change. These are relics of failed attempts at serious runs for Presidency in two cases. Sour grapes and bitterness are very unflattering. Is the corpse of anybody else going to endorse Barack? This is the first time I have seen endorsements from fossils. Don’t you have to be breathing to endorse somebody? Carolyn Kennedy Schlossburg has not held public office. I keep hearing how Ted is going to California to court the Hispanic voters because of Bobby Kennedy being his brother. Bobby Kennedy’s children have all endorsed Hillary. MSNBC has been the most biased News Network going. Keith Oberman has ticked me off badly as have Tim Russert, Joe Scarborough, and Tucker Carlson. Their fascination with Barack seems almost lustful. If you want to date him boys, go ahead. Just leave the serious business of the country to somebody who won’t poke a hole in a sinking ship. Barack is unqualified to be President. He’s a big cry baby also. Doesn’t work very well on the world stage. If he’s going to weep every time Hillary attacks him then he better get some tissues.
i would of voted for edwards…. but hes not gonna win so i voted for hillary
i love hiliary, i hope she beats that bum name obama to a pulp. then we will see how far his speech of inspiration will go. No Where.
A return to Sen. Clinton’s cattle-futures deal, Travelgate, Whitewater, Filegate, the Lincoln Bedroom Fire Sale, Pardongate - and the inevitable replay of the Monica Mess?
No, thank you.
So Chris, I guess your not ready to go back and enjoy what we all use to take for granted with the Clinton administration, like :
1. A flurishing economy
2. A deficit paid back in record time
3. Hugh advancements in technology
4. record surpluses
5. The lowest percentage of people on welfare in over 30 years
6. Clintons did more for blacks, hispanics and latino’s than any president in history
Must I go on? I would trade a Monica scandal any day instead of this mess were in now!
ITA Southern Girl (says another one) … I remember those days well … and would welcome them back! Despite how the Republicans dogged Clinton the whole 8 years … look at everything his administration accomplished. Just think what might’ve happened if the Reps had left him alone?
As for Obama … I shudder to think he would’ve been in charge on 9/11. I can see Hillary remaining clear-headed, taking charge and doing the right thing for the country and the world. All I see Obama doing is becoming defensive and accusing the terrorists of not playing fair.
i love her
