In Alabama, Huckabee Defends McCain from Romney “Dishonest” Charge
Birmingham, AL-
While campaigning in Alabama, Mike Huckabee, stepped into the fray between the two leading GOP candidates for the Florida primary, by defending John McCain from allegations by Mitt Romney that he was” dishonest”. Romney had used that term after McCain accused him of supporting a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq.
” Senator McCain and I disagree on some things like immigration and Human Life amendment, but I’ve never known Senator McCain to be dishonest,” Huckabee said to reporters, after a massive rally at Stamford University, outside of Birmingham.” Many things might be said about him but I would not attribute dishonesty to Senator McCain.”
Huckabee agreed with McCain that Romney had supported a timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq. Huckabee said that Romney supported a plan authored by Arkansas Senator Mark Pryor (D) that called for a “secretly-held” timetable for withdrawal without a publicly disclosed date.
” I have seen some of Governor Romney’s statements on withdrawal,” Huckabee said.” I’ve seen the actual quotes and he did support that secret withdrawal plan, and its documented in a number of accounts.”

Earlier, Huckabee was met by a massive Alabama crowd at this Baptist university, a size that took campaign staffers, and school officials by surprise. The auditorium where Huckabee gave his remarks was fully packed, but there was an amount triple that size in the overflow room. The “room” was actually a larger auditorium opened up at the last second to accommodate the long lines. Local police put the number of people at five hundred in the first smaller auditorium, and 2 thousand plus in the second auditorium. 2,500 plus, combined, according to the officials. Reporters covering the event placed the amount closer between 1,500 to 2,000.
Additionally, Huckabee congratulated Senator Obama for his big win in South Carolina, and as he had done previously, compared the similarities between their campaigns. At the very least Huckabee’s crowd size today here in Alabama could be arguably described as Obama-esque.

Whether or not he gets the nomination, this guy’s a winner!
You have my vote on Tuesday, Gov. Huckabee.
Huckabee…. have you ever heard of the Keating Five? McCaon lied during the investigation.
If you don’t beleive McCain is dishonest… look at factcheck.org. Below is the Summary from the last debate.
In last night’s debate, held days before Tuesday’s Republican primary in the Sunshine State, the remaining GOP candidates came up with a few new factual distortions and repeated several old ones. Among them:
McCain said he had won the Republican vote in both the South Carolina and New Hampshire primaries, where independent voters also participate. One exit poll showed him narrowly prevailing with Republicans in New Hampshire, while another didn’t. And the same poll that favored him in that state had him losing the GOP vote to Huckabee in South Carolina.
McCain all but denied that he had said he didn’t know much about economics. In fact, he did say that he needed “to be educated” on the subject.
McCain also said he voted twice to make Bush’s tax cuts permanent – but doesn’t mention that he initially opposed them.
Romney falsely portrayed Hillary Clinton’s proposed health care plan as an all-government program. It’s not.
Huckabee once again claimed the FairTax would benefit everyone. That’s not possible.
OK…. here’s the options.
1. We never plan to withdraw troops.
2. We establish a plan, timetable determined by the generals, and do not let our enemy know when the area might be more open to attack.
3. We establish a timetable and TELL the enemy, hey we’re leaving now. Come and get it.
Come on… McCain/Huckabee. Let’s have some integrity here!!!!
Once again, MIKE HUCKABEE shows he’s a first-class candidate! Not only is he engaging, straightfoward, honest, candid, civil, compassionate, and has a great sense of humor, he is truly a decent human being who has a positive vision for the future of our country. His word is “hope”! The idea that alot of us are not strictly right or left, not Liberal or Conservative (he calls it “Vertical Politics”) is part of this “hopeful” approach that has so enraptured millions of supporters for MIKE HUCKABEE! As I post this, Mike’s grassroots movement is on a surge!!!!! If you have “hope” for this nation and want to learn more about Mike Huckabee, go to:
http://www.mikehuckabee.com and see why we (his supporters) are so committed to making sure Mike gets the nomination of the Republican party and wins the election!! GO MIKE!!!
So, Ron in Tampa, who ARE you leaning toward in this election????? Just curious…..
mike huckabee and john mccain are the liars and losers. can’t wait for both to be out of the picture - permanently. mike needs to become a stand up comedian, mccain needs to retire to an old folks home.
So . . . lets have the proof source. Give the reference. State the article.
Names, dates and context of said quote.
Waiting . . . waiting . . . waiting . . .
Alright then, I’ve got one of my own for you; “You ,[Governor Huckabee], make up facts quicker that you speak.” Romney to the Huckabee during the SC debate when the huckster danced around his liberal record with data not backed by documented facts.
A lie or distortion spoken often enough with sincerity is eventually thought of as plausible . . . and soon, in the absence of a correction, becomes a perceived truth. This is the definition of propaganda.
Huckabee and McCain are campaigning like liberal Democrats and should come about!
Well certainly you don’t think that Mr. Romney represents the middle class of AMerica? Good Grief! He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and is as far away from “middle America” as he can be! He’ll use ALL his money to buy the presidency and will do/say anything to get your vote! Don’t be swayed by slick and flip-flopping Mr. Romney. He spouts the word “change” any chance he can get and the only “change” we see is when he’s changing his stance every time it benefits him! VOTE FOR MIKE HUCKABEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“A lie or distortion spoken often enough with sincerity is eventually thought of as plausible . . . and soon, in the absence of a correction, becomes a perceived truth. This is the definition of propaganda.”
Oh, for a mimute there, Mark, I thought you were describing Romney’s religion.
Wake up people! The Republican debate in Florida the other evening was a SHAM and it should have been called, “The Mitt Romney Show”!! I’ve never seen such unfair tactics and so blantantly demonstrated by the media!!!! Each candidate should, in the future debates, have the same number of questions (serious, issue-related concerns) and the same number of minutes to answer. How can anyone make a fair decision when a few of several get more questions and more opportunities to voice their position? THIS ELECTION SHOULD BE DECIDED BY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE NOT THE MEDIA!!!!
I used to support Huckabee but this is the the reason I have switched to Romney. Huckabee and McCain are so clearly in bed together it is just like the Clinton Whitehouse all over again. Go Miit go! We need a man with honor.
Huckabee, you’re a loser! Still trying for VP I think against that cultist Mormon. Romney will take the nod.
I could never vote for John McCain or Mike Huckabee. I have followed carefully these campaigns for months. The more I know of them the more certain I am that they would not be good for America.
Keep religion out of it Mikey.
I restate my assertion and request the proof source. In its absence Huckabee and McCain are campaining on something less than fact.
Mike Huckabee: In 2005, “Governing Magazine” named him as one of its “Public Officials of the Year”. Mike was also named one of the top FIVE best governors in the United States, according to TIME MAGAZINE!! Mike was elected to a full, four-year term as governor in 1998, attracting the LARGEST percentage of the vote ever received by a Republican gubenatorial nominee in Arkansas, then re-elected to ANOTHER 4-year term in Nov. 2002. When he left office, Arkansas had over $800,000,000 in state surplus! Huckabee cut taxes and fees over 90 times during his 10-1/2 years as governor, saving the Arkansas people almost $380,000,000!
Now, about Mr. Romney’s tenure as governor….Andrew Sum, a Northeastern University economist, researched Romney’s record. Massachusetts LAGGED in the U.S. average during 2003-2007 (Romney’s SINGLE term as governor) in job creation, economic growth and wage increases. Sum said, “As a strict labor market economist looking at the record, Massachusetts did very poorly during the Romney years. On every measure you’ve got, the state was a substantial UNDER-PERFORMER.” Wait no more…there’s your “proof-source”, Mark in Hawaii.
Huckabee is the biggest turd-swallower I’ve ever seen in a campaign. If he tries any harder to get close to McCain and help him get the nomination so that he can be the VP, he might get pregnant. What a loser!
Mike has my support 100%.
He is the ONLY one willing to fight the IRS KNOWING they will audit him like crazy for the rest of his life.
Mitt is a fake saleman that will tell you ANYTHING to make the sale. Just a couple f years ago he was siding with Kennedy and saying he is not like reagan. Mitt raised taxes (or tax fees as he like to call them) more in 4 years than mike did in 10 years!!!! Mitts knick name is ‘Fee Fee’. He made his millions putting people out of work. He is the POSTER CHILD for corrupt, slick, greasy double talking polititians.
GO MIKE!!!!
Ok you guys want poof that Romney is not teling the truth again? Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32coCxmt5jo
Romney never tells the truth about anything and I cannot believe that people would really vote for this man. So (Mark in Hawaii) heres your proof! And (Comment by Icm24o) You are crazy to say your going to vote for Romney now! What are you thinking?
Maybe Huckabee can point directly to the quotes then. Nope. He hasn’t seen them.
Really, there ARE flying saucers! I seen em’ with my own eyes!
Nobody can find the mystical quotes, but we can find PLENTY that say Romney did not support a timetable withdrawal. Romney simply advocated benchmarks - SECRET benchmarks to help determine progress. It’s called managing a crisis, people.
It’s better than McCain saying “I’ll stay in Iraq for 100 years if I have to!” Yeah.
Romney has credibility only to those who are dissatisfied with the other candidates and in desperatation, see and hear something in him that just does not exist. He has learned to speak social conservatism and to speak defense conservatism but they are not his native tongues.
And just as he didn’t “see” his dad march with King, he certainly seemed to suggest a timeline. Read the transcript.
Southron,
Thanks for the vivid word-pictures!
Protestants, Catholics, and Christians of all denominations:
We are all uniting together to support Governor Mike Huckabee for President. His values are all in line with each of ours.

Mike is the only HUMAN in the race.
Mike is number two in the polls and is operating in the black! Mitt is number three in the polls and has already borrowed tens of millions from himself and is operating in the red. IMAGINE how he would blow other people’s tax money? Mitt is trying to buy the position, Mike is earning it!!!
Mike I don’t know how you do it but YOU DA MAN
I LIKE MIKE!!!!
Sadly, you are the LOSER, “Southron” with your vulgar implications..you are a sick-o and should have your mama wash your mouth out with a huge bar of soap.
Mikey, that’s low. No wonder you’re a Huckabee supporter. Would you drop the ridiculous accusations about Romney’s religion? As a scientist and a mormon, I find there are stranger things in the world than believing in a God that communicates with humanity. For instance, that an infinitely small speck containing infinite energy exploded resulting in life as we know it. Or that time slows down as you approach the speed of light. Or that gravity modifies space around it. Or that you can never EVER know the position of someting if you know the momentum. Please, McCain is intentionally distorting the truth to try and make Romney out to be unreliable. There’s a truth that I find quite easy to believe, given McCain’s mud-stained record from the past.
If you can’t back it up, shut up.
I think that Huckleberry has a crush on McCain.
EVERYONE!!!!
Mike is willing to fight the IRS for US!!! LETS FIGHT FOR HIM.

and CONTRIBUTE TODAY!!!
EVERY little bit helps!!!!
STOP the rich elite from buying the presidency!! They can’t outspend us if we all come together and give a couple bucks!!
GO HUCKABEE!!!!
Mikey, I am disappointed that you would add a bigoted comment to the discussion. This campaign season is about America’s future, not which religion is ‘right.’ Insulting other faiths will not make America a better place; especially when said faiths do a lot of good in the world. I respect both your right to have an opinion and your right to express it, but I would hope that we can all acknowledge each other’s right to believe as we choose while moving forward together, instead of sniping at one another in unproductive ways.
“I’ve seen the actual quotes and he did support that secret withdrawal plan, and its documented in a number of accounts.”
SHOW US THE DOCUMENTS THEN!!!! Show us the proof, or quit supporting that blatant LIAR, John McCain.
McCain is good at lying, why do you think he was a POW for 7 years? If he had just told his torturers the truth, he would have been set free immediatly after being captured.
Go Mitt Romney, the only guy with integrity in this race.
This should be the end of McCain AND the Huckster. Do they actually believe that there are NOT any timetables, goals or benchmarks currently in place??? Of course there are! AND for the most part, the majority of them are being kept confidential so as not to give our enemies any advantage. Does John McCain oppose these timetables and benchmarks. Is he suggesting this should just be an open ended conflict with no goals or accountability???? If you read Mitt’s quotes, he supports exactly what is happening and exactly what has worked. He said he would veto a public timetable for withdrawal as the Democrats were pushing. McCain is a temperamental jerk. Just ask anyone who has been the subject of one of his irrational f-bomb tirades. If he or Huck is the nominee, I will simply not vote for President. McCain may still win because he gets so much support from Democrats (he is one). Nonetheless, I will not be a party to putting him in the White House.
From the Quote, Romney did not support a “withdrawl” in the same sense that the Dems want to waive the white flag…sheesh give the guy some credit. Huckleberry knows that Romney is the only true contender. If Huckleberry gets the nomination, then I vote Obama.
Mitt is a rich elite tool. He makes me sick just to look at him. He looks like a car salesmane
Mittt should be done now that we see he supports the dems plan of defeat
Ryan,
If you would vote for obama, for ANY reason, you where a dem to begin with. Oboma is an extreme liberal
Wow…incredible that these men could stoop so low. No evidence…nothing to back up their lies. It’s secret of course. Disgusting. They can’t come up with anything substantial. Romney was in fact Governor and not even involved in the Iraq involvement.
Of course McCain was in the Senate and there is plenty of proof of what he felt about issues.
McCain/Feingold limiting freedom of speech
McCain/Kennedy immigration bill to give amnesty to illegals.
gang of 14 - pack with the Democrats that ensured all but two of the conservative judges recommended for office were thrown out and denied positions….
Yeah, this is a great guy to be saying that anyone is not a conservative…consider the source people…of course how could anyone be surprised…liberal as he is…”I didn’t sleep with that woman.”
Huckabee simply doesn’t have the intellect to lead the United States nor does he have a conservative record to stand on. His experience in raising taxes and pardoning felons hasn’t and won’t energize the Republican base. He is clearly given up on his presidential aspirations and is doing all he can to be found acceptable to McCain as a potential Vice President. The problem is, he would make McCain even less appealing to true conservatives. Game over Pastor Mike.
Mike Huckabee all the way. This guy looks better and better EVERYDAY!!!
(A. Burns) did you not read my last comment! HERE IS THE TRUTH! WATCH AND LISTEN! ROMNEY IS A LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32coCxmt5jo
Wow, Jim, so many big words from such a small person.
Congratulations on your science experiments.
I, too, believe in a God who communicates with humanity - the God who reveals Himself in the person of His Son and in the pages of His Scripture (the Bible). I have no problem with Mormons; I do, however, have a big problem with MormonISM and its counterfeit claims as Christian. And, as it relates to politics, there are millions of Bible-believing Christians who are equally offended by the blasphemous, unorthodox teachings of Joseph Smith, and the way in which they are often packaged and marketed by the LDS church to seem ‘Christian’ (milk before meat, don’t you know). You are entitled to your political and theological views as am I. Incidentally, why is it that Huckabee’s criticized for having less than 50% of evangelicals support him when Romney has 94% of the Mormons in Nevada voting for him? Whose guilty of identity politics?
If there is any doubt that the Huckster is spewing the Democrat class warfare rhetoric, just look at the “back hills” comment by Shawn. Yep, we wouldn’t want any of them there successful folk running the country! Money is scoreboard pal. Gov Huck begs for gifts from lobbyists, and Romney gets his by creating enormous wealth for others and creating thousands of jobs. Regardless of the outcome of these elections, Romney will still have more wealth than any of these Bozo’s. Bottom line - Romney is the biggest winner with our without the votes of these class warfare hillbillies.
You Jesus haters love to come down on Mike because he belives in God…sad
Mitt raised taxes more then Mike in less than HALF the time!!! Mitt only had a FRACTION of the pardon request that Mike did. Mike is the ONLY one with a REAL immigration plan. Mike is the ONLY one with a REAL tax plan. I can go on an on. BUT WE DON’t want a corrupt rich salesman or an old fart.
Mike ALL THE WAY. He as out run all the others on pennies comparred to their money
Any business person, any, of the level that Govenor Romney has worked and operated at always has an exit strategy. Also, that information is not disclosed publicably. The purpose is for planning and ultimately what is called an exit strategy - something that every venture capitalist has in his repretoire of potential alternatives. The Federal Government and the Pentagon have these in place with every conflict or potential conflict out there. That is very different than saying Govenor Romney supported a withdrawal from Iraq. Even President Bush accepted the need for a change, whether a withdrawal or not. He implied heavily that if it did not work (the Surge) that then an exit strategy would likely be implemented. So is that saying that President Bush supported a withdrawal from Iraq? Please give us a break, that is prepostorous. He did support an effort for continengency planning in the event that the issues do not resolve themselves.
For Senator McCain to make the assertions that he made was as categorically dishonest as Bill Clinton’s comments on the campaign trail over the last two weeks about Barrack Obama. That just to show that as far as being qualified to run the country is problematic at best.
The second clip is cut short, Caligirl. It doesn’t show that he said yes to WITHDRAWAL timetables, it just says that there needs to be milestones. Do you have the rest of the clip?
The more I see of Mike Huckabee, the less I like him. He obviously wants to be McCain’s VP but it’s sickening the way they have this lovefest going on where they tag-team Romney to try to take him out. To Romney’s credit, it is taking both of them at once to run against him.
Romney has more class and intellect than both of them put together. At one time, I tought I would support Huckabee but now I just want him and his reptiore of stupid one-liners to go back to Arkansas and leave the rest of America alone.
I was at Samford and heard him speak. He is the greatest orator in the Republican field by far and I am convinced regardless of this election cycle, Huckabee is the face of the future for the Republican Party. Huckabee is the real deal and if the GOP wants to remain a viable party in the years to come, they better get out of their bad habits they’ve seem to accumulated. Huckabee has fresh ideas with the Fairtax, he is a gentlemen who does not go around looking for a dogfight, and has the ability to actually connect with the voters, especially young people like myself. I’m telling you all, the up and coming generation will not be interested in the politics of the past. If you want Conservative movement to last into the future, better wake up.
Huckabee lies “Romney raised fees by 700 million” Actually Mike Romney inherited an increase in fees of 450 million which were already signed into law. 250 million was his
Huckabee lies “I’m not going to show the negative ad” but let me show it to you right now
Huckabee “Christian Leader” next day says he will shoot anyone who gets in his way while shooting over the heads of reporters
HMH - YOU ARE INCORREFCT!!!
Mitt DESTROYED JOBS!!! He bought companies and broke them up to sell them.
Mike does NOT get money from lobbiest….MITT DOES. Mitt has tax lobbiest advising his capmaign and his donars are running attack adds on Mike
Dearest Huckabee supporters,
Stay foucused on the heading of this piece.
Proof source of this assertion.
Truth by association with unrelated issues don’t and can not confirm anything.
Stay focused and give me the proof source. It its absence, or your inability to offer a reference then my conclusion is simple. Yours should be the same.
Romney- I support you now more than ever. It is absolutely incredible that everyone is “ganging up” on you. You are the man to beat. They will take out all the stops, but you are holding firm.
You have the experience, the leadership, and the morals we need to lead our nation.
You are the man! We support you overseas.
You will win Florida and you will be the nominee.
Romney 2008!
Mike Huckabee is a decent, honest candidate. I’ve been reading, watching and listening from all sources for months and he has stood firm on his original beliefs and convictions. Yes, he has a religious background but he was in office as a governor longer than he was a pastor. Does that time as a pastor have a bearing on who he is today…OF COURSE! And what is so wrong with that? Our country was founded on Christian beliefs! Currently the percentage of Americans who believe in God are close to 90% of our population! If we had officials with higher morals/principles in office, maybe our country wouldn’t be so screwed up! I am a high school teacher and I can tell you from first-hand experience that a vast majority of our young people are in need of someone who represents honesty and integrity and solid, core values and impecable morals! We need a leader, like Mike Huckabee, who has a true gift of being a communicator to all sectors of our society! Huckabee demonstrates a compassion we don’t often see in government. We owe it to ourselves and to our great country to consider/vote for MIKE HUCKABEE!
Mitt raised taxes more in 4 years than Mike did in 10!!!!
MITT IS FAKE
McCain and Huckabee are despicable. Mitt rejected the Democrat’s idea that we publicly establish a timeframe for withdrawing prematurely. Of course the leaders set private milestones and timetables to acheive objevctives, which can be adjusted according to progress.
McCain and Huck are hypocrites. They moaned about “attack” ads and proclaimed themselves positive campaigners. They are losers, and unworthy of the office they seek.
David French who is serving in Iraq at present wrote the following, which I think is an honest assessment of Mitt Romney:
“I think Mitt Romney is misunderstood and underappreciated by elements of the broad conservative coalition – especially the Christian conservative branch. He is a governor in the truest sense of the term. He achieves what it is possible to achieve within the context of his position. When I hear many Christian activists critique his performance as Governor of Massachusetts, it is almost as if they believe that the only things he should have been thinking about were defeating same-sex marriage and rolling back abortion. Yet the tactics many of these activists advocate are the same tactics that led to Roy Moore removal from office (and subsequent electoral defeat) in one of our most conservative states; yet Governor Romney was the chief executive of perhaps the most liberal major state in the nation (Vermont doesn’t count). How could the tactics that failed for Moore possibly succeed in a far more liberal state?
Mitt Romney knows that a President must run an entire country across a full spectrum of issues. When he was governor, it is not as if the emergence of the same sex marriage issue suddenly meant that he didn’t have to deal with a fiscal crisis, didn’t have to deal with the Big Dig collapse, and didn’t have to achieve a creative solution to a looming health care battle with an overwhelmingly Democratic legislature.
Yet Governor Romney balanced a budget, managed a crisis in one of he most complex and expensive construction projects in history, and crafted a health care plan that – while not ideal – contains innovative reforms rightly applauded by many conservatives. But here’s the critical thing: he managed to do all this at the same time that he vigorously resisted the same-sex marriage decision (up to and including suing the legislature in a successful effort to force them to vote on a state marriage amendment), resisted legislative efforts to dramatically expand stem cell research, fought for Catholic Charities’ right to religious freedom, and vetoed legislation that would have expanded access to the “morning-after” abortion pill. These are not small things.
To be honest (and I say this as a Christian conservative activist), one of the bad side effects of the otherwise good growth of Christian political and cultural activism is the tendency to see the world through activists’ eyes. The activist rightly sees “their” issues as important, but since they so often make a living advancing “their” issue, it is easy to lose perspective.
From where I sit in the Diyala River Valley, listening to the thunder of (thankfully outgoing) artillery, looking at news reports of a sinking stock market, and worrying about all the religious liberty litigation I left at home, I want a president who is good at dealing with all those things — a person of deep moral conviction who wants to lead an entire nation, a master of the art of the possible, and a man of real personal integrity.
I have not chosen to dedicate my professional life to defending life and religious liberty, only to throw that away by supporting a man who does not share my values. I have not laid my entire future on the line in Iraq, only to throw that sacrifice away by supporting a man who would yield to Jihadist terror. Since my wife and I started Evangelicals for Mitt, we have gotten to know the Romneys and their sons. They are people worth supporting.
Mormons believe you have to know a secret handshake to get into heavan. If Mitt REALLY cared about us all he would go on T.V. and tell us what the hand shake is
Good one Ralph
Caligirl4Huckabee,
That youtube video has the rest of it cut off. Have any of you “christians” ever heard of the ten commandments? Thou shalt not bear false Witness.
I didn’t mean to be vulgar; rather, I was trying to artfully relate my take on the Huckster’s mancrush on McCain’s walnut cheeks. I’m sure their offspring would be infertile (and as homely as Billary’s whelp), if that knowledge helps any offended parties.
Huckabee is not an honest man. I know many good Evangelicals. A lot of these folks get a bad rap as bigots who missed the critical school years. Huck perpetuates these stereotypes with his underwhelming looks and squirrel diet.
McCain is a bitter old man who must be president before he dies to satisfy his own ego. He was the son of a man who lived off of tax money. He’s only ever lived off of tax money. Of course he’s terrified that anyone would threaten his dream.
I liked Thompson and Romney. I also like a lot of what Ron Paul has to say (too bad he looks so crazy). I’m not even a strict conservative. I just think we spend too much, give away too much to illegal invaders (and the wealthy who depend on their willingness to work for nothing), and I think McCain has nothing good to recommend him beyond surviving years of being beaten by Asians. That’s not enough, in my book. And I do think that McCain and Huck’s love child would be a broken America.
McCain/Huckabee are sure trying hard to make Mitt look like a traitor, aren’t they? It’s sad that they just can’t stand on their own record and run a clean campaign. The people of Florida aren’t stupid, guys! They can see right through the dirt McCain loves to kick up. Let’s see what the facts are….
1. It’s a really good idea to have GOALS for Iraq so we can eventually let them run their own country, right?
2. Those benchmark goals should only be known by our military leaders (including the president ) and the leaders of Iraq.
3. Goals are an integral part of running a good business, but of course, Mitt would know this.
4. Mitt said he would veto ANY withdrawal date designation.
5. McCain is a twister of the truth, and Huckabee wants to be his VP
Hasn’t the republican field been stereo typed as the greasy rich ceo double talking saleman type for too long???
Let someone original in
GO MIKE GO!!!!!
What a load of garbage from both McCain and Huckabee. I am POSITIVE that American voters can see clearly through these pathetic schoolyard tactics. Vote for the obvious choice in Mitt Romney.
We are SICK of those types of polititains. Mitt would be MORE of the same. Who would trust him, just look at him….freakin sales people I tell ya
Tony what do you know about what Mitt really accomplished at Bain. I have known him my entire life and am completely familiar with the thousands of jobs he created. Listen to your slimeball buddy Huckster more carefully, when he smears Mitt’s business record he always inserts a weasel word to leave him some wiggle room. Mike can’t even comprehend what Mitt did at Bain, but it was not a buy, split up and sell operation. When you repeat what Mike says, you become a liar like him. Be careful!
Wow, never before has Huckabee’s kissing up to McCain gotten more transparent.
McCain lied on national television in the debate on Thursday about his statement of “not really knowing much about the economy”. Every media outlet has said that McCain was not telling the truth and that he really did make that statement. Everyone knows that McCain is blatantly flip-flopping about tax cuts and immigration as well. Did Huckster remember those 2 lies?
Huckabee supporters should realize that, unfortunately, Huckabee is hopelessly behind in (1) funding, (2) the national polls and (3) delegate count. He has absolutely no chance of competing on Super Tuesday. Huckabee supporters should not support McCain, who has fought against the 2nd amendment, the federal marriage amendment and pro-life demonstrators in Wisconsin.
Romney is the only viable conservative on the board. A vote for Huckabee now means a vote for McAmnesty and a vote against Christian values.
I WOULD NEVER vote for Mitt, he is too slick and greasy
Mike Huckabee seems to be an affable guy and I don’t have anything against him but he doesn’t really have a plan for America or his candidacy other than NOT being a Morman. He is not even aware of the important world events unfolding before us (read his NY Times interview) In short-he doesn’t have a clue, or a chance.
And a question: If John McCain nearly ran out of money and Huckabee is cash-strapped and Romney is financing a large portion of his campaign and Guiliani is looking for donors then WHO is giving money to the Republican party? anybody?
Mikey,
Something that you have not been told about Nevada is that about 3500 Mormons voted for a democratic candidate, and about 500 others voted for other candidates besides Mitt. Harry Reid, democratic majority leader of the senate from Nevada, is also a Mormon.
Maybe you are all right and Mitt IS a bad choice. Sorry, I am leaving Mitt and supporting Huckabee
Huckabee and McCain are two liberal $holes. To vote for either one is like voting for Hillary.
These two are ganging up on Romney because they are scared of him. Just the thought of
Huckabee and McCainone being nominated, frightens the hell out of me.
Ralphie,
Spreading lies about the LDS church is really childish. If you want to be taken seriously, why not comment about the campaign?
Huckabee and McCain are both trying to bring down Romney through desperate, dirty politics. Why would anyone not be able to see through this stuff?
I am sorry for all the bad things I said about Huckabee. I agree with you all now that mitt is a rich two faced tool.;
GO HUCKABEE!!!
Jason,
People have often complained that president Bush is not intelligent. Mitt is very good looking, but you should not hold that against him. He is also very well educated with two degrees from Harvard. He is very good at public speaking, polished, and extremely intelligent. Isn’t that what we want in a president who is going to be speaking to leaders all over the world?
Sorry what I ment to say was Mike Huckabee is THE MAN!!!!! I will be voting for him FOR SURE!!!
GO MIE GO!!!!
People, everyone is tauting what they have read or heard on some blog or some media source. How can we trust much of any of it. You all recognize “SPIN”. Huckabee, McCain, Romney, Guiliani they all have lies told about them. They all have records we can look at to see the real truth. We should look at their records not the commentaries on them. Just because something is in print or reported “live” does not make it true. A majority of voices does not make a lie a truth. It is best to do your own research. There are actual records you can look at yourself. Don’t rely on “Spin”.
Kent,
car sales man looked polished also….still not buying their piece of sh*t car
LoveItaly… sarcasm aside, I wasn’t sure who I was for until I happended to catch a C-Span program about a book called “10 Things You Should Know About a Mormon in the White House” or something like that. I probably wouldn’t have even watched the program except the author began telling about the experience of Mitt Romney. The more I listened, the more interested I became. I started doing on-line research on Romney and the more I studied not only Romney, but the other candidates, the more I liked Romney.
Now like someone else said, forget the religion, what does this man stand for. Strong familes, yes… that’s what I want. Good economy… yes. Against illegal immigration. Yes… Anti-Terroism, yes. Experience… Yes. Track record.. yes. AND plans to get these things done! Yes. Hmm… no brainer!!!
Well Dan….you aren’t up on the latest polls, evidently. Huckabee is SECOND in delgate counts, not “hopelessly behind” as you said. Right now he has a HUGE lead in the Georgia primary, and doing very well in the polls in many other states across the nation. There are millions of people in support of him who are, at this moment, creating a huge SURGE in donations (check out his website for PROOF- as Mike from Hawaii likes to see). He also has a ton of viable, valuable and identifiable endorsements of which the list is growing each day. Florida is winner take all…so it is not the “end-all”. We’ve just begun so please,… don’t count Mike out quite yet! We haven’t..not by a long shot!
