Romney Predicts Florida Win
Boca Raton, FL–
At a pre-debate rally of around 150 people at Bogart’s Bar and Grill, Governor Romney gave the cheering crowd a taste of what to expect at tonight’s debate. He also made a big prediction:
“Tonight I predict that most of the guns will be aimed at me. I predict they’re gonna be shooting shots one after the other and they’re gonna miss, but they’re gonna shoot time and time again but you know, if they’re shooting at me that means I’m the guy they’re worried about and for good reason, and for good reason, because we are going to win Florida!”
Romney loves to say he doesn’t make predictions, quoting Yogi Berra’s line, “I don’t like forecasting particularly if it involves the future,” but this is his fourth—predicting wins in Iowa, New Hampshire, Michigan, and now Florida. So far, his prediction has only been correct in Michigan.
He also dared his rivals to go at him hard. Like boxing legend Muhammad Ali, he can take it. In previous debates, his rivals have really gone after the former Massachusetts governor:
“So give it your best shot, we’ll go back to that great Muhammad Ali strategy,” Romney said, “remember the rope-a-dope strategy? Go ahead and just hit, hit, hit and I’ll just keep on taking, taking, taking, and the more they hit me, the more I’m able to talk and describe my vision for the future and talk about how I believe we can create more jobs in our economy and have a brighter future and I can talk about optimism and contrast my optimism with inside the Beltway pessimism and that’s what America wants to hear and that’s what America needs and we’re gonna give it to ‘em!
The gloves come off at 9pm tonight.

Romney is right - he will win Florida. McCain is nothing but a Ted Kennedy KissÄss, phony republican. Good riddance to Senator Amnesty. Go MITT !!!!
Looks like Romney won the debate. Let’s hpe he wins Florida!
Romney definitely won the debate. He is the only one with the experience, leadership, and morals who can lead this country. He is the man!
Romney will win Florida and be the nominee.
Go Romney 2008!
Mike Huckabee won this debate. If only Mitt Romney could be more truthful. Go to trueromney.com to learn the truth.
Mike Huckabee is actually an alien posing as a Presidential Candidate! Go to http://www.huckabeedoesn‘tstandachance.com to find out the truth now if you dare!
Oh please. Mitt is going to win Florida. Primarily because in a long campaign like this every weakness and strength is exposed. And in the course of that process we all found out that while occassionally clever, Huckabee is a populist who uses class envy to inspire his support. How else do you explain his comments about Mitt’s sons and their inheritance? That was totally low-rent. Mitt is a classic American success. we shouldn’t be shaming him for his success. We should be holding him up as an exampe to the world. Show every other country what hard work can get you in American.
That Mike Huckabee thinks Mitt should be embarassed for his succes says a lot more about Huckabee than it does about MItt.
The GOP debate was certainly an amicable one. I don’t know who ‘won’. That really will be decided by each Floridan individually. I think Romney and McCain were strong and Gulliani was certainly a ‘runner’ but I think Romney may have had the edge. He was clear on his basic policy of Corp. economics being what will save America.
I don’t know that I necessarily subscibe to that way of thinking but this is America and it is the corporations and the jobs they provide that ultimately hold up ‘middle America’. So, if the USA is to continue it’s economic greatness which arguably undelies it’s superpower status then - Mitt Romney should be America’s nest President.
If you want to go the European way and that has many good things too - then Hillary Clinton or Barack are your choice.
