Rudy “very concerned” about economy, suggests stimulus/spending cuts package
Palm Beach Gardens, FL — Priority number one for Rudy Giuliani this morning was addressing growing concerns about the economy, a world-wide stock sell off and the decision by the Federal Reserve to slash interest rates.
“It’s something, we have to be very concerned about,” Giuliani said Tuesday outside of a meet and greet at a West Palm Beach-area deli. “The Fed is independent and I am sure they are doing the very best they can to deal with the monetary part of it. And I think the fiscal policies obviously have to be a very very strong stimulus package. I would like to see it more on the side of permanent relief meaning extending the Bush tax cuts (and) reducing the corporate tax….if we can get some control over that and have a stimulus package that puts a lot of emphasis on permanent change I think thats the best way to handle it.”
Giuliani also suggested Congress and the President work on a short term spending reduction program that will have a positive “psychological impact” on the markets by showing more fiscal discipline.
“One thing that they could do that they haven’t been talking about that would be very helpful (would be) a spending reduction program. The President could announce cutbacks in the civilian agencies or that each agency is gonna be looking for ways to save money–5 percent, 10 percent cutbacks,” he said. “It gets you some savings, it also has a psychological impact. It says to the markets, it says to everyone that your going to make an attempt to be even more fiscally disciplined at a time in which people are having concerns.”
But Giuliani repeatedly pushed back when asked to characterize the state of the economy.
“All you do is react to the facts. I don’t think u put adjectives and qualifiers on it,” he said. “I think u react to the facts….reduce spending, find tactical reductions that are gonna help the economy, help stimulate the economy and also take a look at moderating regulations…a program like that, that is sustained, that is serious I think will restore a sort of sense that the economy is going to be a growing economy.”

I agree Rudy. A strong, permanent economic stimulus package is needed to help avoid recession.
Just like the one MITT ROMNEY introduced last Saturday! Is there another candidate who has presented an economic stimulus package? No. Why? Because no one else (who has a chance of winning) compares to Mitt Romney when it comes to economic experience!
Governor Romney is the proven leader that this country needs to solve the tough problems we are facing at this time!
A VOTE FOR MITT ROMNEY IS A VOTE FOR POSITIVE CHANGE!
MITT ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT!!!
Very good but there is only one candidate who had been talking about the current events withforesight and not with hindsight like the rest of the bunch. Google Ron Paul to hear him speaking with fiscal authority for months if not years. Ron Paul 2008. Some may recall that in recent debates those same expert politicians talking now were laughing at Ron Paul and now they are using his very own rhetoric to make themselves appear knowledgable. If you don’t believe this then check the past records.
YouTube Ron Paul-economy I meant to add. Thank you.
Rudy has no idea… Just ask the firemen of NYFD..

You have to notice how all the Candidates, even McCain are starting to sound like Mitt!
Go Romney in 08 and beyond!
All the anti-Guliani comments which accumulated this morning are gone. The whole board has been changed.
What about ”you decide…we report”. People have decided they do NOT like this dope. Let it be reported. Don’t just erase the board…
Both the American’s for Tax Reform and the Club for Growth give the advantage to Rudy as the best fiscal candidate. Rudy and Romney are both good fiscal candidates, but see why Rudy is the best choice:

Mitt understands the economy because he’s been in it in business. How can you be in buisness and economy class at the same time? Go Romney 08. Go. Leave us with Ron.
