Hillary: “Si Se Pueda”?

The union of Cesar Chavez put its full weight behind Hillary Clinton at a rally in Salinas, CA, as the United Farm Workers announced their endorsement of the New York Senator at a packed rally in a college gym.

The UFW’s leadership was unanimous in backing Clinton, who counts the union’s co-founder, Dolores Huerta, as a co-chair of Hispanic outreach for her campaign. The endorsement represents a potentially powerful organizing force, especially among Latinos in California’s ag-heavy center and north.

While the endorsement was never really in doubt for Sen Clinton, it represents yet another blow for Obama here — strengthening her already solid lead among Hispanic voters in California. It’s increasingly looking like Obama’s path to the nomination will have to bypass California, which is Feb 5th’s biggest delegate prize.

Obama had been using the union’s signature line “Si Se Puede,” or “Yes We Can,” on the stump in Nevada; today, Senator Clinton took the stage to the enthusiastic chant… but she didn’t quite get it right when she said it herself. Check out Hillary’s butchered delivery of the line below.

Hillary is the dirtiest politician of my lifetime. She and Bill need to be stopped. The media attention they get - both good and bad - is just catnip for them.

Susan, that’s the most stupid comment anyone could waste their time pecking out!

what about Bush? Cheaney?

or Fox News?

talk about dirty and needing to be stopped!

I can not believe how much support Hilary is getting, this country is in for its largest downfall in my lifetime

I’m saddened by the amount of people that have been buffaloed by her

Comment by G8

I just can’t believe the Latino community is falling for it. Name recognition? I could see if they were given better schools, neighborhoods, healthcare and better paying jobs during the nineties. It seems that they might have forgotten the unkept promises. Hey, maybe it’s different now…an they won’t be profiled any more.

Senator Clinton is intelligent, capable, caring, experienced and hard-working. She has proven herself over and over and has delivered the goods for NY State. Any man with her credentials would never be subjected to this thoughtless barrage of insults and mis-statement.

She is also a committed Christian, a fellow United Methodist with a strong social and moral conscience, who has taken every insult that has been dished out at her with grace and grit.

Go Hillary, go!

Those speaking of dirty politics must not be old enough to remember Republican President, Richard Nixon, or the head of his Committee to Reelect the President (CREEP) who was George Bush, Sr. or that it was Neil Bush who gave us the saving and loan meltdown a decade ago.

Those were the days when we had real news from real journalists instead of the current gossip mongers who find it easier to discuss race and gender gossip than to research and present the real issues, such as how much the prescription drug companies spend on TV advertising and why consumers pay such high prices for those products? Which candidate will pledge to limit signing statements, hold regular press conferences?

How about a debate about how they interpret any or all articles of the Constitution abut the balance of power?

Comment by Flip Manong

The Clinton’s have consistently twisted the facts about Barack Obama purely for their political gain. They have chosen to adopt Repub slime tactics. To be blunt and honest, they are liars and willing to sell their souls to the Devil to get what they want. Liberals complain about how the Bush administration has consistently lied to the American people. What Hillary does in the campaign, she will do in office. She’s now lying to the electorate to get into office. Expect her to continue lie to the American people whether as a Senator or, God forbid, the Chief Executive.

It think it’s clear that Hillary is going to win the Democratic Party’s nomination. So, a big fat “Too bad, too sad” to the GOP - you Republicans don’t stand a chance against this woman.

Cheers to President Hillary Rodham Clinton!

“It’s increasingly looking like Obama’s path to the nomination will have to bypass California…”

What nomination? You must be kidding. Feb 5th will be the end of the Obama campaign, which has become emptier by the hour. Good speeches can last only so long.

Speaking of Richard Nixon… that’s precisely who Hillary Clinton reminds me of. Secretive, calculating, controlling, identifying those who are out to get her… you get the picture.

I’m a democrat and I’m looking for a different kind of politics. I observe the Clintons attempting to bring Obama down to their level by mischaracterizing and distorting his record. Welcome back to another 4-8 years of triangulation, pandering, manipulation…whle little gets done to transform the nation and its problems. The one thing Hillary is committed to is her ambition. Her clear articulation of the problems and three-point solutions I fear, are mere window-dressing.

What a sham.. The Clinton’s?? The great “Give Away America Program”. Be my guest vote Hillary in. You’re in for a real ride. That’s what the Hispanic vote wants.

As for me I’m paying off my debt ASAP, improving personal preparedness, storing up a years supply of necessities and thanking God I don’t live in California or New York. After the Democrats are through, the security of our country will be like an exposed confidential document with half the pages missing.

God Bless America..

OH YEAH I KNOW THEY R AFRAID TO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT OBAMA CAUSE HE MIGHT PLAY THE RACE CARD ON THEM TOO AND PLUS MEN IN MEDIA WILL BE AGAINST WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP

I am Latino and very proud to support Obama. IT is not a matter of race & gender, and it does not make the leas difference in our Country future, but about decency, capacity vision and judgment. For this and other reason there is only one option: Obama.

For however supports Hillary, please educate yourself. Read about Obama, Edwards and Hillary. Understand the issues and the consequences of having each one of them elected. Consider this for everything that is important for you and for our country (Economy, poverty, etc…). If after you educate yourself you decide to go with a candidate other than Obama I will respect you choice, but I am very confident it will not be the case.

The United Farm Workers? You mean the United Foreign Workers residing and working here illegally? Yup, that would be them. Cesar Chavez was against illegal immigration…..Hillary’s votes in the Senate have been pro-illegal immigration and pro-open borders alll along. Hillary has top campaign advisors from the National Council of LA RAZA (the RACE), that alone should make anyone question her loyalty to the AMERICAN citizens in this country. LA RAZA is a radical, far left, ethno-supremacist institution funded by the equally far-left, radical Ford Foundation along with funding of tens of millions of YOUR tax dollars! Hillary has been pandering to the “Latino” vote since last year when she gave a keynote speech at the LA RAZA annual conference. Dolores Huerta is a vicious, radical ethno-supremacist and no respectable candidate should be caught anywhere near her.

i am latino and thank God i am a citizen so i am gona tell you brother, I don’t support Obama. Think about it what is going on in California. I rather support people that i know. God Bless Hillary or in the republican side Maccain…

Hillary is playing the game strategically within the rules and Obama is as well. They are both great candidates, I do feel Hillary is prepared, but hopefully Barack will run again in the future.

Don’t play the “hope” card,

Hilllary has my vote, I urge you to ignore the game and vote for the best candidate.

Comment by Louise, California

It’s sad to see both of these people letting there focus degenerate into name-calling and bickering, but then again, if you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Politics in the good old USA is an expensive, dirty business. No one is a saint. If Obama wants to get aggressive and start picking fights, then he shouldn’t complain when he gets counter-punched. Is he so obsessed with winning that he’s willing to look like just another mean attack dog to do it?
As far as Hillary is concerned, my sympathies are with her. She’s the only woman is the race, and has taken all the usual sexist overt and covert hits from the pundits, yet she still continues on. Doesn’t matter what she does, really, cause the corporate-media bosses, (and that’s an industry controlled by white guys at the top,) will still use her for a scape goat. I’m voting for her, not because I think she’s a saint, but because Obama has no real experience, and I just think he looks shifty. Plus, I don’t like his attitude. How’s that for sound reasoning? As far as race goes, this country is insane in that regard. I don’t think it would matter if he was purple or green, I’d still have to look at his record, what he says about his record, his experience, and he would still come up short.
As far as rotten politicians go: Nixon, the current Bush, and a host of others have used the office to lie, steal, cheat, and undermine the public trust. So what if the Clintons aren’t saints? At least they didn’t leave the country bankrupt, like the current idiot in chief is doing. And they didn’t lie their way into a no-win war that is killing Americans everyday.

Comment by Billary

It’s funny to hear her mispronounce it. Si se puede is the number one Latin American chant. Every politician should know this. The fact that she doesn’t speaks magnitudes.

Did anyone ever looked at the supporters of Mr.Obama? Mostly Republicans. This is called stealth politics. Bring in the weaker one in your opponents party, and easily destroy him/her. I am a hard-core democrat, and I was not supportive of several votes of Hillary, but she is the only candidate, who can beat the Republicans, and they know that, and they will do everything to destroy the Democratic party. Unfortunately, Obama became a pawn in their hand, and dividing the Democratic Party. He is whining about the attacks now. Just think about what Republicans willdo to him,if they get a chance. Just think about the swift boat attack. He will not be able to win a single state in the general election. He lost my respect, and my vote. He should have waited another 10 more years, to be more mature, before jumping to become the President. He is a good orator, but that is the only experience/quality he have at this time. Now he lost the chance. Once you lost in a primary, you can never come back up in the political spectrum. Mr. Obama and Hillary, quit destroying the Democratic Party. We need a redemption from the the last 8 years mismangement. Fox, Pat Buchanan, they are all supporting Obama. Why? Just think.

This great nation needs an experienced, intelligent, hardworking president to lead, instead of a good speaker without a firm ‘YES-or-NO’. Anyone can make mistake. There is no exception for Hillary in voting for Iraq War, but she publicly recognize that mistake and work hard to correct it. That is the essential for the president. Go, Hillary.

Comment by Cathreina

I’m sure UFW president Arturo Rodriguez and union co-founder Dolores Huerta will get something out of this endorsement afterall, judging by past elections, hispanic voters are opportunist and vote for their own needs, disregarding standing up for priciples that help all Hispanics, and not just the chosen few. And going by past voter turn out in CA, not many Latinos there are eligible to vote in the United States and those that are don’t bother. So much for that sleeping giant out there in CA.

Hillary has my vote. She is the best person for the job. I trust her to fix the economy and our foreign policy. Experience does matter. There’s too much at stake. If you compare Hillary’s accomplishments with Obama’s, there’s no contest. She wins by a landslide. Take a look at their bios on their websites and see for yourself. Hillary had a career before she became a senator and First Lady. People need to do their homework before they put her down. She’s helped out a lot of people.

Comment by Dondre

Latino-Americans overwhelmingly vote for Hillary because they aren’t educated and possibly racist. In California there is alot of tension amongst their gangsters. Its only fitting that they be the group that destroys America even more by getting Hill Billy nominated.

I’ll tell you one thing, this is going to cause alot of tension. Don’t leave California amigos.

For those who are mesmerized by what they think Obama represent,I can only say:be careful what you wish for… If Obama ever became president ,he would devote his efforts to benefit only one segment of the american population 100%.Sadly he would find out the rhetoric doesn’t pass the mustard in Washington’n real world, and the country would experience the deepest recession or,perhaps, depression since the last one.Obama is full of cheap ideals,he appeals to simple minded idealists who eat up every unrealistic promises by suggesting that he can single handedly go to washington to fight the bad guys like the knight in shining armor of the legends past.My suggestion to all Obama lovers is:wake up and smell the coffee, real politics and ideals don’t mix, they never did.

Why is it so hard for liberals to figure out? I myself don’t necesarily like Hillary. However, I’m getting tired of the republican administration. If we like to see change next year. Hillary is the best bet to get elected as president against any of the republican candidates, especially John McCain. I’m supporting democrat this year, but if Obama wins the nomination, it’s going to be McCain all the way for eight more years.

Comment by Jefferson Reid

Way too much venom here, people.
I’m a strong Clinton supporter, but if Obama wins, I’ll support him.
I worry that he’ll be an easy mark for the Repugs,
or at least their extreme right wing media steering committee.
However, if his people can make the case and win the day, all Dems will rally round.
I would hope it would be the same with Obama’s peeps.

Otherwise, we’re gonna be reliving 1968 when pouty Dems handed the keys to Nixon
just because Humphrey wasn’t left wing enough for them.
Let’s wise up and win the war this time and change the country one way or the other.

As a first time voter, I am proud to support Hillary Clinton to become the next president of the US. I will vote for her because she will be a world class president who understands the issues more profoundly than Obama. We cannot afford to put in the oval office an apprentice who will be experimenting with this country. The United States is in the brink of becoming an impoverish nation thanks to our stupidity to elect charismatic, likable candidates with little substance and brain power. We need a leader who is not in need of being trained to become a leader. Obama and Bush share the charismatic persona that makes people at ease, but when it comes to dealing with serious matters the results can be devastating. We cannot gamble with such an important decision in the history of this country. Choose substance and leave the charisma crap for bedtime stories or Hollywood teen movies.

As a Canadian I am so glad Hillary is doing so well, she is a very remarkable person and has shown she can disregard all the garbage the press and the blogs throw at her. It is amazing how many people try to destroy her,the more sexist critisms and personal insults the taller she stands and the quicker her wit. It’s very obvious many males are afraid she is going to win the presidency and every mean demeaning thing they write or say is going to come back and haunt them when she becomes one of the most outstanding presidents we have ever seen…Go Hillary you are truly amazing

Interesting “jounalism” to show a clip where the only purpose is to unabashedly point out that Senator Clinton “butchered” a line.
Whew.
I guess there was no other video showing the part of the rally where she got wild and enthusiastic support from the crowd.

Fox News wouldn’t be Clinton Haters, now would they??

Si, without the accent, is “if”. Si, with accent on the i, is yes. Great job pointing out Clinton’s error then making a glaring error on your own article.

Wake up people! The Iraq war - where by the way, THOUSANDS of our brothers and sisters are STILL being KILLED and MAIMED, is not the only POOR JUDGEMENT call Hillary has made. Do your homework and learn about the other bad judgement calls she has made before you decide. This is no mistake people…it’s a 30 year pattern .

Clinton scandals like: Chinagate, Whitewater, impeachment, disbarment, and Norman Hsu-gate are immoral and unlawful behaviors that are part of the Clinton core values. This is not going to stop. Don’t just get you information from TV and newspapers. They are biased. Look it up and then decide not based on gender or race but on core values that matter to you.

Besides, the reality is if she goes up against the Republicans they will beat her with the details in the general election.

Comment by Jack

G8, China, Whitewater, impeachment, and disbarment were Bill Clinton. In case you forgot, Hillary Clinton is the woman running for office, not Bill Clinton.

Also, Hsu was guilty of a private crime, Clinton gave the money back.

So now you’re left with no reason to hate Hillary. Oops.

I’m hispanic, but I’m not voting for Hillary. I refuse to put myself in a box only because I’m “Hispanic”. I can’t understand why the hispanics are backing Hilllary, she is lacking experience and she stands behinde her husbands accomplishments in the white house not hers. I would like to see a woman become president, but a strong woman. Not one who needs her hand held by her husband. He is not running!

Comment by G8

Jack, grow up! These were Bill and Hillary endeavors - they are partners remember. Both of them are viaing for the Whitehouse as a couple - okay. Stop acting like he’s not going to influence her after 30+ years.

Hillary was not blind during those instances. She was in it up to her neck - look again. She either lead or remained silent while it was happening. Can you say assessory to the crimes, partner in crime. And let’s be clear, as the ring leader, he’s part of that package whether its the Whitehouse or Arkansas. The truth is, The Clintons are dishonest and have a political agenga that doesn’t include the American people - only the Clinton Agenda. And yes, they have 30 years experience doing it. I’m not talking about something I read. I voted for him during the 90s and saw what happened first hand.

You can’t put lipstick on this pig - I’m sorry.
