Carl Gets Mitt Live

Naples, FL—

Carl Cameron was able to get the first live GOP reaction to Fred Thompson’s departure from the race today when Mitt Romney arrived at his afternoon event. Romney had some friendly things to say about his former rival:

“He made a real contribution. He was probably the only other one in the field that focused on pulling together the old Reagan coalition, if you will, the conservative coalition,” Romney continued, “His leaving is sad for those who were big fans of his, but it probably helps my effort in terms of bringing together those Reagan coalition individuals.”

Carl also asked Romney if Thompson would make his Vice-Presidential short list. Romney said that anyone who ran for the highest office in the land is “strong” and “should be considered, “He’s a terrific and highly capable guy and anyone would think that having Fred Thompson as Vice President would be a good thing.”

Hundreds of Romney supporters and curiosity seekers chanting, “Romney, Romney!” who could not get into the Naples Chamber of Commerce waited outside for a glimpse of the candidate. Romney jumped up on a silver Mustang convertible and greeted everyone with help from a megaphone. He got some laughs when he said he was expecting to get a group of 60. One man yelled out and the governor repeated, “Next time in the Naples stadium.”

Our nation needs Romney. He has spent his life fixing problems, from failing businesses to the Winter Olympics to making significant progress as governor of a state largely controlled
by democrats. He has learned to surround himself with other intelligent persons and to get the big picture before making snap judgments. Romney has demonstrated the leadership, intelligence and personal character to be an excellent president. Please support Romney so that some of his outstanding business and leadership skills can be applied to our national government.

Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney were the only viable conservatives for the GOP. Here’s hoping the Florida Republicans know what to do.

WOW, Campaign Carl talked to Romney! I can’t believe Fox has a photo on the main page instead of McCain or Huckabee. Or even Thompson today.

GO MITT

Romney is the best choice. He has been called and economic genius. His stimulus plan is what our nation needs right now. He is a fix it man. He has very high moral standards. He has been married to the same woman 38 years. He has more energy than any other candidate and has gone from someone nobody knew about to the fruntrunner in votes, delagates, and states. He has been the most competivie candidate of all with 3 golds, 2 silvers and over 60,000 votes in South Carolina. GO Mitt!!! Let’s get him to the White house so we can be competitive in this world and our economy can avoid recession.

Wow. Wish I could have been there for the (overflow) standing room only! Mitt has come a long ways, and now should be the concensus choice of Reagan Republicans.

Fred was a conservative. But now he is no longer running. It is now time for all conservatives to back the only conservative left in the race, and that is Mitt Romney. There is no one stronger on stopping illegal immigration (endorsed by Tom Tancredo himself), no one stronger on fiscal conservatism (0% tax on capital gains and dividends for middle class investments), and no one as articulate in debate than Mitt Romney. McCain’s debate skills are lacking. He gets hammered in every Republican debate. He will lose debates and the election against the Democrats. Huckabee is a good debater, but his influence will not carry a national audience. All the conservative pundits have proved neither Huckabee or McCain are conservatives, based on their records and based on their current stances on the issues.

That leaves only Mitt Romney as the conservative’s last representative. We need to get behind him, and make sure we are represented! And don’t let McCain or Huckabee fool you in believing that the Republican candidate needs to be more towards the middle in order to beat the Democrats. Watch CNN or MSNBC. You can clearly tell they’d love to have McCain or Huckabee as the Republican candidate, and they don’t say anything positive about Mitt Romney. That should tell every Republican that Mitt Romney truly is the candidate that will beat the Democrats in ‘08. Neither Hillary nor Barack can stack up to Mitt Romney’s resume in both the private and public sectors. So Thompson supporters, get behind Mitt, and if Mitt picks Thompson as his VP, that will be a winning ticket! Go Mitt Romney!

Mitt Romney, unlike Jack Kennedy, is afraid to take questions about his religion. The Mormon temple oath he took could well conflict with the presidential oath of office. If the Chinese offers to let Mormonism operate in China which it cannot do now, in exchange for a secret deal that a president Romney can influence in favor of the Chinese, what will Mr. Romney do? His Mormon temple oath commits him to serve the interests of Mormonism ABOVE ALL other interests, and he says he is committed to be faithful to Mormonism.

Historically the Mormons have been extremely harsh when they thought they possessed the power to enforce their will. This was true in Utah in the latter part of the 19th Century and it was true in Nauvoo, Illinois. (READ HISTORY) Mormons have their own scriptures and here is one that is scary and puzzling about what Mormons will do to bring it to pass. It is listed in their scriptures called the DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS, Section 105: 31-32. It can be read by anyone who cares to do so. Mormons don’t want to talk about their religion unless they can control the discussion, but here is just one of their scriptures that bears examination by the American electorate:

“[F]irst let my army become very great, and let it be sanctified before me, that it may become fair as the sun, and clear as the moon, and that her banners may be terrible unto all nations;
That the kingdoms of this world may be constrained to acknowledge that the kingdom of Zion (Mormonism) is in very deed the kingdom of our God…”

The above IS Mormon scripture. Readers can judge as they choose whether it sounds reasonable. But here is an indication that Mormonism intends to intimidate ALL nations to bow down before their religion similarly to what Islam indicates that it will do. Let Mitt Romney answer.

Republicans are making a huge mistake if they don’t insist that Mr. Romney give account of several peculiar beliefs that the Democrats will surely exploit in the general election if Romney is the nominee. Mormonism holds that their “prophet” speaks for God. This is also a FACT of their scriptures. (D&C 1:3 8) If the “prophet” decides that God wants something communicated to a president Romney, such as working a deal with China to get Mormonism into the country, how will Romney turn his back on God by ignoring the Mormon prophet.

Never before has a religion raised issues as such scriptures of Mormonism raise that ought to be examined. Mr. Romney can certainly believe what he wants to believe, but America deserves to be informed. When push comes to shove in the general election, the Clintons will make sure the several legitimate issues are in the open. There are many issues that deserve attention NOW.

Romney/Thompson would be a winning combination. That’s a ticket the conservative party could get excited about. It seems like a good fit for Thompson too, the Vice President isn’t too busy, but a very important role that needs to be filled by a solid conservative.

Dear Henry,

As a member of the LDS faith, your “what - ifs” sound absolutely absurd. The LDS church is doing fine by itself, it doesn’t want Mitt for a spokesperson, and Mitt doesn’t want to be a spokesperson for the church. Romney’s “Faith in America” addresses the foundation of your concern.

http://www.mittromney.com/News/Speeches/Faith_In_America

Thomas Jefferson said, “I never will, by any word or act, bow to the shrine of intolerance or admit a right of inquiry into the religious opinions of others.”

Religion and politics aren’t an American combination. Faith and morality are essential, but doctrines and debates about theology aren’t welcome by those who adhere to the Constitution.

BTW - I think Romney is pretty good, but I think Ron Paul is the best presidential candidate this nation has seen in at least 100 years. Vote Ron Paul!

Comment by Reid

Henry, as a lifelong Mormon, I can assure you that nothing in the mormon temple rites apply to our nation. The things they refer to are things concerning the kingdom of God. I always get a kick out of non-members of our church trying to explain our doctrines. The reason we do not publicize out temple rites are not because they are secret, but they are sacred. You say that we cannot discuss the gospel without controlling the subject. We are out there to teach and not be taught. Any instructor or teacher will tell you that you have to control the discussion or else you lose your purpose. You mention that Mitt will not discuss his religion. You need to remember that he is involved in a presidential campaign, not a religious debate. If you are really interested in learning the truth we have to offer and really understand our beliefs, we have over 60,000 missionaries that would be willing to tell you what we belief.

TO HENRY,

GIVE IT UP! YOU KEEP TRYING TO SPREAD THESE LIES AND DISTORTIONS ABOUT THE MORMON FAITH, BUT ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THE CHURCH KNOWS THAT YOU ARE SIMPLY SPEWING BIGOTED HATRED!

Your “conspiracy theory” is absolutely absurd!!! You clearly don’t have a clue what you are talking about. Or maybe you know it is complete BS, and are saying it anyway.

Either way, it makes you look like a complete idiot to anyone who is well informed!

BTW, for those who keep saying Hillary will make a big issue out of Mitt Romney’s religion, must not know that THE HIGHEST RANKING SENATOR IN THE UNITED STATES- SENATE MAJORITY LEADER HARRY REID-D ALSO HAPPENS TO BELONG TO THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS (MORMONS). I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT HILLARY OR ANY OTHER DEMOCRAT WOULD SEEK TO RIDICULE THE RELIGION OF THEIR MOST POWERFUL SENATOR!

Mitt Romney is a good, honest, family man with high moral standards! Just look at the way he’s lived his life, look at his wonderful family.

I would be very proud to have the Romney family in the White House–a stark contrast to the Clinton family getting back in there!

Thinking about Mitt Romney becoming our next President, gives me hope for the future of our country! I think he will be an amazing president, with vision and solutions for the tough challenges we face!!!

I CAN’T SAY IT ENOUGH—-WE NEED MITT ROMNEY FOR OUR PRESIDENT!!!

FLORIDA-ITS YOUR TURN—GET OUT ON TUESDAY AND VOTE FOR MITT ROMNEY!

Henry:
Whether in ignorance or not, your comments are inaccurate at best, and bigoted at worst. You are twisting and misrepresenting a faith and millions of people. Please take your hate elsewhere. It is a compliment to Mitt that he doesn’t cry for entitlement because of his background. There are others who would. Instead he only asks that he be judged on his character and qualifications. What a concept.

Please stop distorting the truth. Your hate seeps through, even online. Mormons are some of the most loving, patriotic people on earth. Maybe you could take a lesson from them, instead of desperately trying to find any “scripture” you can twist completely out of context to further insult good people.

Henry
People like you will take you’re hatred to the grave with you. If one was to investigate the Mormon beliefs they might find this interesting.

The 13 Articles of Faith here is number 12 and 13

12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Henry, who is it that has inspired your thoughts and comments? Why are you combating the LDS faith and purposely misleading people?

Romney is simply America’s best opportunity for a solid administration to guide our Country. Do your Homework my friend. This is not about you and your battle with Mormon beliefs. It’s about choosing a man that will act upon his promises and bring hope back to America. All the candidates are GREAT!!!

However I will support Mitt Romney in his bid for the Presidency…. As I hope Florida will.

Good luck Mitt

Look at the economy right now. Think of the long-term implications of doing the wrong thing with the economy.

Mitt Romney is the only individual who has the long-term vision and understanding of what will happen with short-term ’stimulus’ or any other publicity stunt Congress pulls.

We need Mitt’s ability, education and training running the largest operation in the world.

Mitt is presidential and will bring about the needed cuts to the federal budget and federal programs to bring back true conservative fiscal responsibility to Washington DC

Florida, do the right thing, vote for the only remaining conservative–Mitt Romney

Fix it Mitt!!!

Dear Henry, (January 23rd, 2008 at 12:58 am)

This is just for you.

You are an old man . . . so am I, (The “Jack” Kennedy gave it away). You have worrisome and foreboding thoughts about the church that I can help you with. I like to think of myself as an honorable man with little to gain one way or the other in trying to lay out some facts and a little known story that will provide some insight.

1. The link below will take you to the Church’s News Room where you can click on the desired headings and view the long standing church policy of political neutrality. And the reason for the neutrality is simple and complete. Members of the LDS faith are serving in civic offices from all political parties. As previously mentioned Harry Ried is a Democrat. Orin Hatch . . . (who has yet to endorsed Mitt Romney), a Republican. So, not everyone that saith Mormon, Mormon gets an easy endorsement and a blind faith vote from the church membership. Anyway here’s the link:

http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=2ced329706ca6110VgnVCM100000176f620aRCRD&vgnextchannel=9ae411154963d010VgnVCM1000004e94610aRCRD

2. The LDS church is already in China. Been there since the late 1970’s and in the early 1980’s the church established a very open humanitarian relationship with China. Here’s the story of how that may have begun.

From the personal journal of Russell M. Nelson, a prominent leader in the church who before his retirement was a world renowned heart surgeon. (He helped to develop the first Heart-Lung bypass machine in 1951 (which is the single most important piece of surgical equipment. You would agree that without it . . . there is no such thing open heart surgery.) He also pioneered the procedure of aortic valve replacement and so on. . . He writes;

“One day I was in Boston for scientific meetings, and I started my day out with a prayer . . . in my hotel room. Then during one of the meetings I got restless for some reason, so I moved from the front of the hall and took a seat toward the rear. When an intermission was announced, I found myself sitting next to a Chinese fellow. I thought back on my prayer that morning, and so I introduced myself. He replied in beautiful English that he was Professor Wu of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Peking. We struck up a conversation, and before the day was over I had invited him to come to Salt Lake City to give a lecture. He did, and he liked what he saw; and after he returned, I received an invitation to come to the Peoples Republic of China as a visiting professor of surgery.

“Then last August the dean of their medical school, the head of the department of surgery, and two of their top heart surgeons came here and stayed with us a month. We write to them frequently now, and one of their young men will be here as one of our trainees for two years beginning in 1983.”

A short time later Dr. Nelson received an urgent request to return to China. He was asked to perform what amounted to a life saving procedure on a young girl of prominence. Her recovery and subsequent continued performance in the arts is a lasting tribute to the relationship already in place.
The church doesn’t need Mitt Romney to do anything for the church. Nothing. Never. Ever. Besides we’ve already dedicated a temple there . . . 12 years ago.

As for the other issues that you feel an urgency to address, go to http://www.mormon.org and fire away. Or go to any practicing Mormon and ask for clarification. I promise, you won’t be pounced upon as a potential convert.
Then come back and tell us all about it.

Romney will not embarrass you or me as President of the United States of America.
He is a moral man without personal secrets.
His conservative approach to government, his successful experience in the private sector appeal to me.

Come on Henry, vote for Mitt.

Jack, good point! I can’t amagine Harry Reid (dem) would approve of the Clinton’s making false accusations about our church. It saddens me that there are so many who are ignorant or just maybe malicious. I am LDS and would vote for anyone who is of a different denomination from me, ok maybe not atheist. I am voting for the person, not the church. I had actually liked Huckabee until he started spewing lies and rumors. I liked Giuliani until I found out he had an affair. Romney is intelligent and can turn the US around, this is why I’m voting for him.

Romney when governor, NEVER put our church ahead of governing.

Romney 08…

Comment by PolitiPornster

Annette, your tolerance of other’s religions is much appreciated in today’s world and in the current political climate. Despite all that, I don’t think Romney could win the general election. I live in the South and the Baptists here are not going to vote for Romney. My cousin who is a Southern Baptist Deacon told me just the other, that the thought of our president swearing-in on the Book of Mormon absolutely disgusts him. Let me just state that I don’t have a problem with Mitt or Mormons in general, but Southerners, particularly Southern Evangelicals are not going to vote for the man. Other thoughts on the race posted here: http://www.politiporn.com

Comment by nathan

I agree many evangelicals will never vote for a mormon. That is their loss. you can see what happened is south carolina, mitt did pretty well in a bible belt state. the can close to a thirsdplace in south carolina. I think in the exit polls he took only 11% of evangelical votes, something like this would have been unheard of 100 years ago.If this happened 15 years ago mitt would been in dead last place in SC. I think as people learn discover more and more facts, not myths or theorys about mormons, more people of all faiths will tolerate mormons, not agree. Mitt did very well in IOwa, and NH and michigan(not mormon states), wyoming and nevada(which is only 7 % mormon). He has a better chance than many people think. He is the great at getting votes from many religions.(Better than huckabee)

Mitt Romney will NOT be sworn in with the Book of Mormon. Just like every other President, he will be sworn in with his hand on the Bible.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believe in the Bible, study the Bible, learn from the Bible, have child versions of the Bible for our children, watch Bible movies with our families, and use it to help strengthen our understanding and testimony of Jesus Christ.

We also read and study the Book of Mormon as Another Testament of Christ. Just as the Bible details the history of the Gospel in Jerusalem, the Book of Mormon details the history of Christ’s people on the American Continent. There is nothing outrageous or scary about it. If a person wants to know the truth about it, then they should read it! (You won’t go to hell for reading it, no matter what your minister or pastor may have told you).

If a person wants to know the truth about the Mormon faith, then they should learn about it, visit their websites, go to their Sunday meetings. You’ll find they’re just not as bad as some are trying to make them out to be. In fact, you might even find they are really good people.

But Mitt Romney is not running on his religion, he is running on his record of experience and leadership, and that is what will get him elected.

As far as Southern Evangelicals not voting for Romney because he’s a Mormon, well that’s their choice. I feel sorry for them for being so ill-informed as to believe all of the distortions and lies about the faith, but they can’t be forced to open their eyes and think for themselves.

MITT ROMNEY IS CLEARLY THE BEST CHOICE FOR CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS AND HE WILL LEAD US BACK TO THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF THIS PARTY, AND MAKE US PROUD TO BE REPUBLICANS AGAIN!!

MITT ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT!!!

Comment by CNNBR

To PolitiPornster -

Your points are absurd.

We had an enormous number of Evangelicals in Nevada not only vote for Romney but volunteer on his campaign. Your comments are offensive to those of us who don’t consider religion to be a reason NOT to vote for someone.

Romney has tremendous support among Evangelicals in spite of all the twisted and inaccurate drivel of Anti-Mormon ridiculousness the Southern Baptists have viciously spread (including the “Anti” Literature Huckabee wrote). I dare say the whole motivation behind it is MONEY. Period.

What century are we in anyway???

Comment by DMH

Please keep the dialogue away from religion! It does no good (both you who want to attack Romney’s religion and you who feel the need to defend it). Please just stick to the issues that are important and relevant to the office!

Romney is clearly in a 2 man race with McCain. Romney has had more votes, more wins, and more delegates than McCain, and Romney is beating McCain even in his home county among those who know him best. But you’d never get that idea from the media.

McCain may be a war hero, but his legislative record is horrible. How could he win the nomination when so many of his efforts in congress were fighting against the party whose nomination he wants? For all of his self-professed straight-talk, he sure hasn’t been forthright about all of the jabs he’s taken towards true conservatives, especially over the last 8 years. He is the one who’s trying to make voters forget his record.

Mitt is the man. Unbeatable intelligence, proven success, impeccable private life, the best solutions for all the problems. The one who supported the Bush tax cuts (McCain was one of 2 republicans to vote against them). The candidate against amnesty. The one with executive experience. Most importantly, the one who knows the economy and has proven he can turn around organizations in financial mess. We need him at this time as the market is tanking!!

Go Mitt!!

Comment by nathan(to dhm)

I would take that a step futher. I think mitt is the front runner. He clearly is not most popular, but He has the most delegates, and the most gold/silver metals. How in the world is mcCain number one , huckabee number two and romney number 3 in the national average! Clearly romney has the upper hand. How i the world do they come up with the average? I smell a rat!

Comment by Mark in Hawaii

Dear PolitiPornster, (January 23rd, 2008 at 12:32 pm)

If that is all it takes to have the Southern Baptists take a second look at Romney then come on down Brethren!!

I can guarantee that Mitt Romney will not swear in using The Book of Mormon. Orin Hatch didn’t use it. Harry Ried didn’t use it. Bob Bennet didn’t use it, neither did his father before him. Ezra Taft Bensen, Secretary of Agriculture to President Eisenhower, didn’t use it. Shall I go on? Michael Leavitt, former Utah Governor now a Bush cabinet member for the past 7 years (and most recently his Press Secretary after Tony Snow got sick), didn’t use it.

NONE of the members of Congress or Senate now sitting in office have used anything but The Holy Bible.

No governor of any state, including Utah all the way back to Brigham Young, didn’t use The Book of Mormon. No Mayor of any city, including, David B. Haight former Mayor of Palo Alto California, didn’t use it.

No government official, no officer of the law, including judges, attorneys, all police officers and all branches of the military including Robert C. Oaks, a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General, has ever used anything but the Holy Bible to swear into office or to take an oath of service. And that goes for any Mormon living anywhere in the world who holds a public office.

Remember brethren, the Holy Bible is as sacred to us as it is to you. It was James 1:5 that sent the boy (14 yrs.) Joseph Smith to his knees.

Mitt Romney is a man of faith and conviction who will be strong on conservative values and tight on economic discipline. If you can just put away the religious worry about the Mormons and look at your friends or family members of our faith with a bit of tolerance, these worries will settle in your mind.

Go Mitt! 2008

Comment by Leah sez

I don’t think Mitt being a mormon has any bearing on this- Harry Reid (yuck!~) has been in washington for quite a while and has never promoted any morman doctrine, stupid ideas maybe, but no Morman doctrine, Trent Lot- stop this it is crazy and distracting. I personally like Huckabee but more than that I want a conservative in office- McCain on the other hand doesn’t appear to be conservative to me (sorry mccain fans but it’s true) Romney will probably appeal to more people than anyone else and i would raather have a mitt/fred ticket than a McCain/fred ticket -their only claim to fame together would be “ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR YEARS EXPERIENCE BETWEEN THEM!!!!

I wish people picked their president like they’d pick their brain sugeon!! Who is going to get the job done right?! Could you imagine if you had a brain tumor and found out that the best of the best was available to help you? Would you ask what religion he/she is? Would that really matter to you? Or would you thank God that there was someone with experience and the skills and the desire to help you. That is how I feel about Mitt Romney. Our country is sick and there is someone able and willing to help us. Please vote for Mitt, he is the man who will truly help us.

Most Christians respect and honor their Lord. They love their Lord and have a reverence fear toward Him. The way pastor Huckabee mentioned the name of Jesus to legitimise his personal ambition, and to draw simpathy or to scare people is disturbing and embarrassing.

Henry - I’m Mormon and your quote about Zion has nothing to do with politics. It’s the Lord saying the gospel will spread forth among all nations. You can’t tell me that when Jesus comes it won’t be a “powerful” event. Likewise, the last days have a lot of powerful things happening, both for and against Jesus Chrust; but nothing will stop the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Look up mormon.org or lds.com if you want to understand anything about us and our beliefs.
I agree Romney/Thompson would be the best ticket I can think of, and have been spreading the word. People really seem to get it. Thompson stood more above the fray than anyone in the campaign and Romney clarified canditates positions on issues more than any other candidate. Huckabee may not have liked it, but I did because it started a conversation about his political leanings thus far. He is the biggest-spending democrat I’ve seen yet; he hasn’t a clue about economics, law, foreign relations, etc. PLEEEZ anyone interested in him, have a look at his record. After I did, I was embarrased to say I even considered him. What’s worse is he thinks he knows things he doesn’t - lying to himself, or he’s trying to pull the wool over our eyes - lying to us.
McCain has become a chameleon during this campaign. He’s about as conservative as Hill-Billy. His record is scary too. Gotta like the man and appreciate his service, but again, looking beyond, what does his record in the Senate say? He likes to embellish the part about being a sherrif on pork barrel spending, but he spends more than any of our Republican Senators with his votes. and too, before the campaign, he was a little too self-absorbed. Anyone else know what I mean?
I could bore you more, but you get the picture - I’m for the only sensible choice I see - ROMNEY!

Those of you who think that Romney is a good candidate have never been to Massachusetts. The damage that he did to the education system here will take years to repair, especially in regards to the teachers we lost due to his refusal to sign ANY contract, even one that he himself approved, for almost two years.

Mitt is our man !!! He is the brightest, most articulate of all the Rep. candidates. He does not wear his religion on his sleeve. Contrast him with good old boy Huck (He scares me!). Who would you want to represent the USA meeting with world leaders??

Another Republican administration on the heels of 8 years of Bush-Cheney would be economic, political and military suicide for the U.S. Surely even the most ardent GOP supports can understand this simple reality.

I agree that Mitt’s church will not have improper influence over his presidency. I’ve heard no complaints that it did during his service as governor, so why expect anything different.

Many evanglicals support Mitt. Here is an example of a web site where evangelicals advocate to their fellow evangelicals that Mitt is the best choice. For a balanced view, please check it out.

‘The RINO’s will start jumping ship soon. The test between conservatives and the hanger ons who benefit only from certain things conservatism brings to the table are beginning to rear their ugly heads. the party faithfuls won’t be fooled though, and even Huckabee’s evangelicals know which side their bread is buttered on. If Romney wins Florida, McCain is toast. His pandering ways with the veterans fly only because of his war record, but are still in reality quite low brow, as I presume his presidency would also be. His loyalty to his party has been a self promoting roller coaster ride. Now he comes to his party with hat in hand and says, let me fool you one more time, and I promise everything will be ok. Forget that I was willing to destroy the party’s coalition strength to further my own career. Or that I was willing to tag team the party’s real conservative candidates with Huckabee to get my foot in the door. I promise to be a good conservative now. And the scary part is that the RINO’s are saying, “yea, we can get get alot of conservatives to salute that flag, let’s go for it”. Time for the republican party to show it’s real colors, red, or PURPLE.

btw CK we are really impressed by what a pro teachers union has to say about Romney, who only insists a teacher not be a leech, and teach.

I moved to MA in 1993 after getting my PhD to become a professor in Cambridge. I chatted with Mitt Romney on several occasions and was extremely impressed with his intellect and integrity. I didn’t have to dumb down my explanations the way I would to most non-scientists. However, more than his intelligence, it was his humility and down-to-earth manner that really struck me. Here was a fellow that was incredibly successful, that was famous, rich, etc. but you would never know it from the way he would ask you about your family, how the kids were, etc. I’ve met many powerful people in my time, and have been “brushed off” by many, but Mitt Romney always took the time to be friendly and interested in others.

By the way, my kids have attended MA public schools, which were fantastic. Both before Romney was governor and since. If you were at all unbiased and resided in MA you can’t help but be impressed with how Romney governed in everything from the Big Dig fiasco he inherited, to fiscal management of the state. Of course, we have a huge number of Kennedy Democrats in this state who will never admit it…

Mitt will be a President America can be proud of.

No Scandal’s like Slick Willy, and he won’t pronouce the word ‘nucular’ like “W.”
Not even the stuffy acadamians will snear at one as eloquent as Mitt.

OK, let me get this straight. Evangelicals are dead set against Mitt? They would never vote for him? So in a straight up contest next November between Mitt and a woman who is pro-abortion and known for lying, hiding records, forgetting facts (although she’s supposedly genius-level), and for being married to a guy who is even better at all those things, the aforementioned evangelicals would rather vote Democrat than Republican? Or they would rather stay home and not vote, which is the same thing as voting Democrat? Remember: The only thing necessary for triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Has everyone forgotten Vince Fowler and his ties to Hillary? By the way, I prefer Congressman Ron Paul over Governor Mitt Romney. It’s time America, please, to get the Clintons off the public dole. Please don’t elect Billary.
