Huckabee Drops Traveling Press Corps

Fox News has learned that the Huckabee campaign, citing a shift in media strategy (focusing more on local media) and cost, will be dropping their national traveling press corps, starting Tuesday. A senior staffer tells Fox that they are “scaling back” and will stop arranging for the national press, who cover Huck, to travel with the campaign in an effort to concentrate on local media. The staffer also pointed to the cumbersome cost in arranging travel for the press corps.
Since November when Huckabee the asterisk, became the Huck-a-boom candidate, he has traveled with national, and local press. However, the candidate who’s candidacy has been basically built through the amount of free media he’s received has now changed tactics that essentially question, and counter that initial strategy.
Fox News and other members of the Huckabee traveling press pay their own way to travel with Huckabee but the campaign organizes and arranges the travel (buses, charter flights etc) to fit the campaign schedule, and make it easier for their candidate to be covered.
Members of the traveling press corps initially discovered the new arrangment, not through the campaign staff, but through a blog post of one or our own colleagues at the Chicago Tribune.

i would respect him more as a pastor if he would drop out of the race. he too has been negative, even though he denies it.

Yippeee!! Huckabee, you are a genius. Dump the media and run. The lies and distortions of your record have been massive. Maybe now reporters will actually have to go do some research instead of asking Huckabee a question and then changing the answer to fit their stories. Let them go savage one of the other candidates. It’s been a rough few months. Let’s get back to flying under the radar where the truth lives and then explode out of nowhere and grab the nomination. Sounds like a plan. Hey, you never did explain to me how you found out that Mitt Romney was paying the salaries of Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingrahm and any other conservative radio or television personality who doesn’t support Huckabee.
You ran away when I asked you to explain, is that because it was a lie? Shame, Shame!
If you lied about that, maybe you’re lying about Huckabee too. I just don’t think I can believe all those wonderful things you said about good old Mike!

I’ll bet Iowa is feeling pretty stupid right about now. They thought they could swing the vote and make a difference for “one of their own” instead of picking the best candidate available.
It will be a small space of time and Huckabee will be gone. His bigotry towards others in religion, race, gender and now age is astounding.

From Iowa, I can speak with experience.
1st: huckabee is a fraud! During his campaign here in Iowa, he had pastors HEAVILY influence their congregations into voting for HUCKABEE. You know what happens when THE PASTOR says something: “OHHH, OHHH. It must be right. How could MY pastor be wrong!” Well… they were, are and alway will be. The church busses were out in force on Jan 3rd. I think some tax exempt status should be seriously re-considered.
2nd: At a local Huckabee “rally,” there were more “Amen”’s and “Praise the Lord”’s than there was ecconomics, security, or border patrol.
3rd: The only reason why huckabee has done so well is that most of Iowa is very rural, with the exception of a few well respected universities where Mitt Romney carried the vote (51% in my precinct!)

I was just looking at the amount of money the other candidates have and have spent. It is unbelievable that Mitt and his 90 mil can’t get past Huck who hasn’t spent 2 mill yet.
It just shows you that when people hear Huck they love him! He has less money than anybody and is running number two in the country. Where do these candidates get all this big time cash?
I am tired of the same old people in Washington. They are the ones who knocked us out of power by spending money like crazy. Now you see McCain doing the same thing on the trail. He is right behind Mitt in money. They both have spent a fortune! Both are trying to buy their way to the White House.
