Harlem Offers Mixed Reception for Hillary
While Barack Obama delivered a barn-burning speech at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta — where Martin Luther King once presided over the congregation — Hillary Clinton commemorated Dr King’s upcoming holiday with muted remarks at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem.
She was in the neighborhood to pick up the endorsement of the church’s influential pastor, Rev Dr Calvin Butts III, who echoed the campaign’s case for her candidacy. “The rhetoric of change in which we are presently engaged must also be accompanied by the experience and ability necessary to succesfully and resourcefully accomplish it,” he said.
Butts said he’d received a number of calls wondering why he would support a white woman over a black man. “This was not and is not and will not become a race-based decision for me,” he said, “and I hope that it has not and will not become a race-based decision for you either.”
Sen Clinton then waded into the crowd to deliver coffee to supporters who’d been waiting in the cold nearly an hour longer than her schedulers had originally anticipated — but ran into a group of heated Obama supporters, who’d been outside waving signs and chanting for their candidate. Let’s just say they weren’t interested in a cup of Joe.
“We don’t want your coffee,” one said. “Stay out of Harlem.” As the chants of “be a part of something great, Obama ‘08″ continued, the man commanded Clinton to stop trying to “steal the black vote.”

Why don’t people read.Hillary gets black support inspite of the fact she favor the death penalty which blacks disproportionately get sentenced. The part that probably bothers her the most is so many are being found innocent before they executed due to opening badly tried cases.
Possibly the ministers think that can be over looked because as a Walmart board member she opposed unions which kept wages low.Blacks could not move from Harlem which would hurt collections.
I find the endorsement of the Clintons by churches to be such a mockery of the Word of God. I don’t expect men to be perfect but I do expect the church of the Living God to exemplify a higher moral standard than most. That is why I have the utmost respect for Gov. Huckabee. He is true to his belief unlike these churches.
I would like to know how the churches that support the Clintons reconcile the following:
(1) Pro-Abortionists with biblical teaching of honoring and valueing the gift of life given by God the Creator
(2) Same-sex marriages/civil union with biblical teaching of God-sanctioned marriage between a man and a woman
(3) Lying by both Bill and Hillary (during this campaign contributing statements and attacks on Senator Obama and saying the union try to schedule people so they couldn’t vote) with biblical teaching of knowing the Truth and the Truth shall set you free
(4) Years of Infidelity with biblical teaching of loving your wife as Jesus loved the Church
I find the Clintons to be morally corrupt and the churches continue to overlook and support this behavior. I wish they would consider all the lost souls out there who see this hypocrisy and refuse to come to church but instead use it to justify staying in their sin. The churches should recognize the higher good of setting honorable and moral standards and being true to the Word of God rather than the promises and favors of corrupt men and women. Pray for the Clintons, Love the Clintons as God Loves us, correct the Clintons, but please stop sleeping with the Clintons and endorsing and sanctioning sins of the Clintons.
She’ll be a great president - now. Obama will be a great president several years down the road - after Hillary has straightened out Bush’s mess.
Ignorance is abound in Harlem and on the previous comments. Thankfully, our country as a whole is not stupid enough to fall for such blatant hypocrisy and stupidity.
I.m responding to the two comments made by ed s and tee.If Obama were white ,all the blacks would support Hillary, citing the work both her and her husband Bill have done over the years especially for the black people. They would acknowledge Hillary.s long life commitment for their civil rights and economic opportunities. But Obama is black,he is one of them, therefore sudden amnesia has set in,and suddenly Hillary and Bill Clinton are no longer their friends, but their enemies. How ungrateful and hypocritical| Who are the real racists now.
It’s sad that the black community can identify with a degenerate like Bill and the can’t identify with an amazing man like Obama.
Hey Tee,
The Bible also says, though shalt not kill. Remember that one. You know, one of the 10 commandments.
Are you for capital punishment? (all your Repub candidates are)
How about the war in Iraq? (a lot of innocent people were killed, and for what?)
Religion cuts both ways my friend.
But Obama is black,he is one of them, therefore sudden amnesia has set in,and suddenly Hillary and Bill Clinton are no longer their friends, but their enemies. How ungrateful and hypocritical
Black people don’t OWE ANYBODY ANYTHING. they are free to make up their own minds about who they want to vote for just like anybody else. get lost john, you are just another POS who’s time for change has come, and its attitudes from people like you that keep people down.
John, Bill did more for America than you or the Change Pimp could ever dream of. You’d know that if you weren’t so fixated on what goes on in his bedroom.
mike, if blacks can truly make up their minds, why are there black men and women in Harlem telling Clinton to “get out” and to “stop stealing the black vote”. Since when have blacks been unable to vote for Clinton? Since when have they been forced to vote for Obama, as an unmovable bloc?
The issue of thinking for one’s self works both ways. Blacks can vote for Clinton if they want, the problem is Obama and his militant surrogates refuse to allow blacks to choose for themselves. Just like the Culinary Union that supported Obama refused to give rides to those who would vote for Clinton.
Looks like you do champion change. You champion a change from reality to fantasy.
What i dont understand is, Hilary had a stronger chance to win thn Barack, now she has gone negative and suceeded in dividing the democratic party, she has inevitable added to the amount of people that wont vote for her in the general elections, namely Republicans, Independents, young voters and Black. McCain for President
responding to Jon Bennet:president Bill Clinton still comands great respect in the rest of the world for the great work as president and also the humanitarian work he is involved since the end of his presidency.Obama has been a senator only two years ,his record is obscure and insignificant. His only asset is his rhetoric. He could definitely be a good civil rights leader,bt as president he would a disastrous failure.
I wonder if she mentioned the word “torture” in her talks.
The only Democratic candidate who as late as two years ago supported torture (and by that name) was Hillary Clinton.
(See the Politico.com story “Hillary backs off support for torture” [www.politico.com/news/stories/0907/6050.html])
As a long-time human rights advocate, I am supporting Barack Obama.
For me, supporting a candidate who supported torture just two years ago is the moral equivalent of supporting a candidate who supported racial segregation just two years ago.
If every white is not for Clinton, why would every black be for Obama. That’s downright silly. Almost all of us, black, white, or whatever, are independent thinkers. Only the Christian Conservatives seem to think alike. But these days, even they’re not a cohesive group. So what’s the big deal here?! Give it a break, folks.
mike d. you still don’t get it:racism is a two way street. To admit it to oneself ,one needs to be honest to himself.Apparently you seem to lack that quality. To Jack: your comment doesn’t make any senseYou are either ignorant or republican or both.Clinton gave the country prosperity, regardless what He did in the oval office.By the way .change pimps may exist in your world, not mine.Argue the point, don’t insult.
I feel like no matter what I say, it will have absolutely no impact on the insanity that is now going on in our country. But again, I must say, Mr. Obama is not any blacker than I am — and I am not black. He is a child of mixed race parents. If one parent is black, and another is white, how does that make him “black”? All of that aside, the pathetic point made in this article is that people were calling Rev. Butts and asking him “why he would support a white woman over a black man.”
This is so deeply disturbing to me. This question means what? That Hillary Clinton is a “white woman” and that is the only thing that she has going for herself? That her entire political career can be summed up as “white woman”? The same for Mr. Obama. Shall he only be thought of as a “black man” — or as a courageous candidate who can lead our country out of the mess that it’s in?
The people who called Rev. Butts should ask themselves FIRST — which person is most qualified to lead our country? If they are focused and obsessed by what color the candidate’s skin is — and, thereby, association, mistakenly believe that the color of the candidate’s skin means that he is somehow going to “save” them or be “better” — then they are totally missing the point. Wake up, people. Be it Hillary or Obama, or John, or someone else — what we need to do is to STOP focusing on our skin color. But, that isn’t ever going to happen, as clearly evident by the fact that the black community has decided that Mr. Obama is black — okay, so, then I guess I am too, because I have been mistaken for Iranian, Middle Easter, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Spanish, God knows what — focus on the CANDIDATE, people, and what he/she can do for our COUNTRY.
The headline must reflect FOX’s expectation that all blacks think alike. Antiquated thinking, I’d say. Shame shame. shame..on FOX.
I would advise all black Americans to not vote for Hillary in the coming general election. First of all, how could you support Barack Obama, but then flip flop in mass numbers and vote for Hillary, when Hillary is making a mockery out of black life in the USA with rhetoric that is being supported by large numbers of white women and Hispanics? At least, this time around, white men seem to be doing the right thing-by supporting the right candidate (Obama). If you watch the news, you hear every single day that the Clintons are using race to divide the USA. If you do not believe that, just take a look at the New Hampshire polls which had Obama ahead before he lost, and the Las Vegas primary, during which unions backed Obama, who then lost due to the intrinsic racism of Hispanics. You can trust me, regardless of who wins, blacks are doomed in America. There is no way that they will survive this thrashing at the most public hands of so-called “Democracy.” When not one member of the government decides to help the victims, you can be assured that blacks will indeed be exterminated by the time Obama gets another chance to run.
Obama is black because he’s black. Period. He doesn’t profess to be otherwise - and, in fact, he couldn’t. You look at him and see a black man. You can’t look at him say he’s the product of a biracial union no more than you can look at a lot of other people and know their heritage.
The good thing is there’s nothing wrong with being black, just as there’s nothing wrong with being white or anything else. Accept him for what he is - a black man. And a mighty impressive one at that.
Bottom line - we have a very long way to go, don’t we…
I must add that it’s offensive to me as a black person be told who to vote for. While I appreciate everyone’s concern about anyone leading us down the wrong path or the primrose path with rose colored glasses, you might better serve your personal choices by not suggesting how black people should think, and/or how we should vote. I find that condescending and offensive, personally. Give us credit for having the ability to shift through all the hype and make our own decisions. We are individuals. The herd mentality is over. I’m perfecting capable of thinking for myself, and I believe the same is true of most blacks. Trust me on that.
I don’t care about the race stuff — I’m voting for the person inside the shell. And from where I sit, I see one ambitious woman who is very intelligent and capable, but who is also running on six years of elected office plus taking credit for her husband’s office. I also see one ambitious man who truly has a ground-up understanding of the nation’s most basic problems, starting as a community organiser and serving eight elected years as a state, then national senator.
Add on top of that that Obama exhorts us to do better, while the Clintons (and truly, regrettably, they should be regarded as a single entity running for office — she’s made that perfectly clear in her statements of her record as well as his presence and volume on the campaign trail) try to tear us apart along any demographic fissure they can spot. I am exhausted by this sort of politicking.
Obama crafted a remarkable ethics bill that Clinton inexplicably disparages. He demands accountability from not only elected officials, but the people they represent. After Nevada, especially, I am convinced that a Hillary nomination will result in one of two things: either she loses and we get President McRomney (or whoever they put up, it really doesn’t matter), or she wins and the government instantly gridlocks for four long years, at which point a GOP nom sweeps to victory.
I am truly sorry for Hillary that she is so unliked by so many, and that she is unexpectedly up against a candidate who upsets her inevitability. But this is not a situation where that sort of hurdle should be overlooked; other politicians with actively block her just to spite her. Why on earth would we handicap the country with someone we ALREADY know inspires such distrust and division?
Please, please vote beyond preference of the moment and take a longer view. Otherwise, we’ll land in 2009, looking back at this era wondering “what were we thinking?!”
the trouble with most americans is they don’t read; or if they can they can’t interpret what they read. have folks read anything substantial that hillary clinton has done for black people? She’s been senator for how many years, now…? what has she done to reduce the number of blacks in prison? what has she done about racial profiling? what has she done to reduce the unconscionable rate of unemployment (about 50 %)among black men in new york? I could go on and on. Come on, get real folks.
To Jon Bennet. So what makes Obama great??? What has he done. All his talk about change and believe, is just talk. I have heard nothing about what he will do to change anything and if we are to believe then, pray tell, what has he said or done to make anyone believe that he can change anything! As for the comment that President Bill Clinton is a dengenerate; what did he do that was any different that other presidents (both partys) hadn’t done before. At least he had our economy on the right track and did alot for the poor and black community. I don’t see anything that Obama has done to merit the black vote any more than Hillary. He had mixed parents so why is everyone saying because he is black that he would do more to help their cause.
Obama is also a Muslim and everyone is so worried about Mitt Romney being a Morman but no one is saying anything about a Muslim in the White House when the Muslims in Iraq are the ones that hate us so much.
They booed Gore in Harlem at the Apollo when he ran in 2000, when he stated that one of their accomplishments in the Clinton administration was getting people off welfare and back to work. Apparently, they do not like that idea.
“…any vote that may lead to war should be hard — but I cast it with conviction.”
– Hillary Clinton, October 10th, 2002
“That’s what I’m opposed to. A dumb war. A rash war. A war based not on reason but on passion, not on principle but on politics.”
– Barack Obama, October 2, 2002
Some fairy tale . . .
Jeanette,

About the culinary union and not giving rides to Clinton supporters. Nevada is a caucus state, Obama people gave rides to Obama supporters and Clinton people gave rides to Clinton supporters . If that person wanted to attend the caucus all they had to do is call 411 and ask for the Clinton HQ they would have gotten a ride. I was at the Nevada caucus and Clinton people were telling Obama supporters that the caucus was over. So don’t worry about the Clinton campaign in Nevada they did ok.
Hillary and her supporters keep the race card healthy and alive as demonstrated in this article. Umm, wonder how many times Hillary has visited Harlem while she’s lived in New York?? In the debate in Iowa, she referred to African Americans and Latinos as “Black and Brown People”. She was definitely vying for their votes; however, I don’t think the voters should be differintiated by the color of their skin. What is wrong with saying, ” lower economic class” or “the less fortunate”? Why use color?? Hillary is a jerk! Poverty exists everywhere. Maybe Hillary sees only “black and brown people” as being poor??? Shame on her! On top of that, she is still playing the gender card by serving coffee. She is a fake and will do ANYTHING to get votes. I am sick and tired of her lies, deceit, and changing persona, and her slash-and-burn tactics!! What’s she going to do next, clean toilets to get the votes of building maintenance people and maids??? She has told so many lies about Senator Obama and look at what her campaign people and supporters (like Johnson and Cuomo) have said about him as well. And then, there’s the mad dog Bill Clinton who has NO morales or integrity! People that want Hill as President must enjoy the thought of seeing a sagging, aging, giant pear in pantsuits and an aging half-crazed ex-Prez with an evil temper, bulbous red rose, large under-eye bags, bug eyes and with an uncontrollable temper in the White House as leaders of this great country of ours. I also noticed he stands around with his mouth hanging open!! Watch for this when you next see him on TV. Is he getting senille per chance? I am 63 years old and I don’t look near as old as Hillary or anywhere near as aged as Bill. It is time we get some new blood in the White House. Take a moment to imagine this: A younger, vibrant, and enthusiastic, and confident President Obama with stability, unsurpassed oratory skills, extraordinary high intelligence, keen knowledge of our Constitution, right-on judgement (In 2002, he stated it was wrong to go to war and the consequences of going forward with it, I believe he called it a “dumb war”), the ability to make the right decision the first time, proven leadership skills (look at how organized his campaign is), the gift of bringing people together, and the desire to roll up his sleeves and get the job done and get it done right. He has much to offer our country and the world, We must embrace this dedicated man and make him our leader, our President, and our Command and Chief! Senator Obama’s wife, Michelle, is a lovely, gracious, and graceful lady, very, very intelligent and she too has wonderful communication skills. I know she’ll be a wonderful First Lady. And their 2 little girls will bring laughter and joy back to the White House! They would also be a role model for families everywhere. Fellow Americans, let’s move forward not backwards, this is new century with different goals, different expectations, and a lot of hard work. This is 2008 and not the 90s.
I am a 58 year old white woman and I support Obama as do many of my female friends of both races. Bill and Hillary only support those who benefit them.
Jeannette,
Barach Obama is not Muslim, even the US millitary is now calling those emails bogus! check here:

Addie, thank you for a first-hand view of the caucuses. I am curious, were the caucuses really over, or were the Clinton people telling the Obama people this in order to keep them from voting? This matters. Thanks much. NinaK
O nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! We’re judging poor Hillary on her unfortunate sagging skin and pear shaped body? You might be a beauty now, but that could quickly change if you tried to keep her schedule.
How ’bout we elect Pamela Anderson. Perfect, huh?! No sagging skin or pear shaped body there for sure. She’d be a great candidate, right? Maybe Miss America - or even better, Miss Teen USA?
How young should we go? Or should we sent Hilllary for some botox and a little plastic before she makes a public appearance if she’s elected?! Values values values, my lady.
Curious. Did how did you feel about Margaret Thacher, Golda Mier, Benizir Bhutto? All powerful women, Thacher and Mier were rotund, saggy and long in the tooth as we say in the south. Bhutto had begun to get the shadows under her eyes and a bit of sagging, but not much. Still very beautiful, so I guess she passed muster.
What about ole Fred - his face needs a good ironing, agreed? And Huckabee - a bit of sag - maybe only a steamer to help those wrinkles, wouldn’t you say? Richardson - a bit overweight, right?
We should really elect John Edwards? He is, after all, sort of easy on the eyes…
And now we’re judging people by the sagging of their skin, not the content of their character. That’s a scream!! Thanks for the laugh. It was great!
Edwards all the way!!
Judge not what your country can do for you. Judge what lipo can do for you…if you’re a candidate seeking the nomination for the Presidency of the United States of America. Only in America.:-)
I’m outta here. Great fun. Great way to get back to life. Thanks for the laugh!!
I’m voting because of skin color…I’m voting because my union boss told me…I’m voting because what is/isn’t between the legs.
People. This is for president of the United States of America! The chief executive of the executive branch of the federal government! Millions of jobs, trillions of dollars, thousands of departments. And they are broken, take too much money, do far too little and fight for turf instead of fighting for you or me.
Qualifications!! Which candidate has run businesses in the real world? That is an important question, because only someone who has run a business knows how payroll taxes, per capita taxes, import/export tariffs, labor laws, interstate regulation, advertising laws, etc. etc. etc. that are changed somewhat randomly by Congress create or eliminate jobs.
Neither of these two candidates have the executive experience to get this job done.
Mitt Romney does. He helped create tens of thousands of jobs in the real world, has helped save companies, turned the Olympics (that were nearly $400,000,000.00 in debt) into a profitable enterprise (he donated his salary).
Here is a true executive who can bring needed efficiences to Congress and all of the departments that the President runs. We do not need Hillary’s million ideas that we can’t afford. We don’t need to train someone without executive leadership skills and we sure as heck can’t afford the taxes and programs these two are proposing.
Mitt Romney will be an excellent president, will cut the size of the federal government and will do the right things to create an environment were small and big businesses can compete with the world so that jobs can stay here.
Without business, there is no job.
Mitt Romney is the leader we need, with a long history of proven, successful leadership.
I agree with Marie. Mitt Romney has the intelligence and fortitude to be a great president. However, no matter how great he would be, I simply cannot justify having another Republican in office. But Marie is right about his abilities. I saw this man being INTERROGATED on TV by some witch reporter who kept getting him to say things about the tragedies that would befall the automotive sector if thousands of jobs were lost. He wasn’t going to fall for her pathetic baiting. He said, and I paraphrase, “We will create other jobs. We don’t just close one door and that’s the end of the world.” The guy got me; this is exactly right. People are so insane. They cannot think beyond their little boxes and their little benefits and their little worlds. The only problem I can see with Romney, as with Gore, as even with Hillary, they are simply too intelligent. And, hate to say it folks, but America has been dumbed down so far that what we used to laugh at as “dumb” as now become the norm. Who is the individual who suggested that the best president would be someone you could “sit down and have a beer with”? Yeah, in your fantasy world. I don’t think that people who have to run what can still be the greatest country in the world, are going to shoot the sh*t with some dumbo over a couple of mugs o’ suds. Yeah, that would be a great president. I’m not saying the Prez can’t enjoy a beer, but I don’t want my future in the hands of someone who would hang out on a Friday night at “happy hour.” But for those that do, I suggest watching the Twilight Zone — because that’s what you’re living in.
I’d like to know why Dr. Butts is even endorsing anyone at all. If he were white (read: Fallwell, Robertson, Dobson, Reed and others), IRS would be all over him to revoke his tax-exempt status. Black pastors have for far too long gotten away with such shenanigans. Time to end this unholy mix.
Whoever will be elected, I hope that blonde women gain a status of National Treasure as they give hapiness to esthetes and men of good taste.
Who is Barack Obama?
Probable U.S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was s born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHIEST from Wichita, Kansas.
Obama’s parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced.
His father returned to Kenya. His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.
When Obama was 6 years old the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta.
He also spent two years in a Catholic school.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim.
He is quick to point out that, ‘He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school.’
Obama’s political handlers are attempting to make it appear that he is not a radical.
Obama’s introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best.
In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son’s education.
Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam.
Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta.
Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world.
Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background.
ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.
Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor will he show any reverence for our flag.
While others place their hands over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.
Let us all remain alert concerning Obama’s expected presidential candidacy.
The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside out,
what better way to start than at the highest level - through the President of the United States, one of their own!!!!
Please forward to everyone you know. Would you want this man leading our country?…… NOT ME!!!
Hey, Tee, Jesus commanded you to love your enemies.
Jesus commanded you to forgive your fellow believers.
What you’ve chosen to do instead is spread hate-filled gossip and judge a fellow Christian.
Where did you get permission to change the emphasis — from a message of love and forgiveness to one of judgement and hatred? From the sadduccees and pharisees that you attend church with twice a week? Yeah, they are the very ones who crucified Jesus.
People like you are everything that is WRONG with religion.
For a moment I was wondering why most of the comments on this blog were so ignorant and then I realized it was a Fox blog. That really says it all. Most of you are perfect examples of what happens when education fails.
Obama is an airhead whose only resume item is that he has mastered verbal syntax. If he gets the nomination and loses, which he will because the majority of great white liberals, including those party straddling independents won’t vote for him when it comes time to pull the lever. You should be reminded that he has to carry every state that Gore carried plus one. That’s not going to happen.
So addie, you’re actually condoning a union refusing rides to vote because they don’t vote with the union? So much for that magical unicorn of change in which disenfranchisement and politics-as-usual are decried.
As for the Clinton campaign telling people it was over, do you have proof they were from Clinton’s camp? Are you one of the people who are flooding his office with “hundreds” of calls — most of which Obama’s supporters?
If so, how did Clinton’s people manage to get in every single polling place to shut it down, and how did they magically manage to single YOU out as an Obama supporter and not the Clinton voters, who were more likely as per the numbers?
I guess when you’re an Obama supporter, magical fantasy is a change too.
Jon,
You have clearly bought into the Clinton rhetoric. Obama’s record IS significant and consistent, and in his short time in the Senate has MADE more REAL change than Clinton in her two terms as junior senator. Do your research on his accomplishments in the Senate and before, and then you can truly comment whether Mrs. Clinton is a more “qualified” candidate.
Hillary spent less time in the oval office than Monica. Obama has less experience than either. Vote Republican, real problems call for real solutions not wishful dreams.
Hilary already has the Latino vote, why does she need the black vote? Latinos are now the biggest minority group in the US. I think the Clintons want to humiliate Obama by making him loose among blacks too, so that he would be reduced to nothing…sounds like a lynching party to me…
Real problems require an overwhelming force from the Citizens against the special interests in Congress to push through REAL legislation. We need a great leader who can unite US Citizens. We need Obama.
two things. Jim you dont show much knoledge and I bet you never watch fox.
I would like to know what the Clintons have specifically done for blacks. Please tell met dont use slogans and inuendos. Just the facts please.
Americans voted Dubya not once but twice. The Clinton’s are now dividing the democratic party. They have Obama yet Clinton is ahead. What a friggan disgrace. Stupid democrats if you want to unify the Repubs, if you want those red states back with the GOP elect Hillary. More of the same old crap.

Are you for real? Sounds like someone needs to stay after school and do her homework! First of all, why do we have to go to Obama’s website to be informed of his policies? Why can’t Obama verbalize to America what his policies are? Oh, thats right, he gets to confused and fumbles around when he does not have his cheat sheet, written by his campaign manager, infront of him.
Obama is a Muslim, he has admitted it and said that now he is a catholic. You must of missed that too. I especially love his Islamic affiliation which is evident at http://www.islamichope.com You tell me if you see one white or latino person on that website if he is soooo interested in uniting all colors and religions. And, if you are literate enough, read that and the many more websites that back up his Muslim and Islamic values. We should not have to do your homework for you..
It’s obvious that you are the one who is ignorant, ugly and sounds like a fool!
Nice chain letter propaganda, nvs9940. Do you believe EVERYTHING anyone forwards to your email inbox? Bet you thought something bad was going to happen if you didn’t forward that within an hour after you got it, too.
to nvs9940—gosh, you are not helping anyone by spreading inuendo like this. no matter who you support or not support, please don’t knowingly libel against Obama. I do not support Obama but I hate dirty tricks. please stop. nobody is listening to you.
to Jodi–just because Obama’s political life is so short that we should not give him the benefit of the doubt. How can you credit him so much for simply voicing against the war when he was not even in the senate? This was the one time he got it right on a national level and so he deserved all the laurels? How much do we know about him beside the many “inspirational” and “tantalizing” speeches plus his 2 years in the US Senate and 7 years in the Illinois Legislature? you have overblown his influence by saying he bought more “real change” than Hillary Clinton’s 2 terms as junior senator. How so? get the facts before you even try to diminish Hillary’s accomplishment in the US Senate and the many years she spent advocating rights for women and the education and welfare of our children. what we need is far beyond speeches. Obama may be inspirational but being the chief executive of a massive bureacracy, he is far from qualified.
by the way, can’t we see that some intrinsic quality in him that he is also a very shrewd and calculating politician having worked his way up through the ranks from an unknown Chicago community organizer to vying for the US Presidency in just short 10 years? can we say that he saw his chances and seized on this golden opportunity to thrust himself into this arena? do we see an opportunist who said he would not seek the presidency when he ran for the Senate 2 years ago? The Americans, as foolish as they were when they twice made the same mistake in choosing an idiot to be our President, might yet be creating another fairy tale which we will find ourselves a rude awakening when things start to disintegrate and slip into chaos.
Hillary may have baggage as a result of her many years in the political limelight but at least we know this person, her shortcomings, her weaknesses and her strengths. But how much more do we know about Obama as a person beyond his mesmerizing speeches? is he capable of handling all the complex decisions to be made as the President? Befor we cast a vote for him, we have to ask ourselves many more questions. we cannot just vote by instinct or likability.
To nvs9940:
I’ll suggest that an ignorant and perverted propagandist like you goes back to your trailer park to give a proper education to your kids so they won’t become some ignorant race warriors who are no better than bin laden. As I white man I’m definitely appalled by this bazaar about race or ethnicities. How come these candidates, especially the Clintons allow themselves to go that low, so low that something like nvs9940 can pretend to be a political pundit.
Is this a Clinton brand? Why we never heard that from John McCain?
to Robert—nvs9940 is no doubt a low life but he definitely dose not represent anyone who supports Hillary Clinton. you are allowing yourself to align with such perverts by characterizing the Clintons as “go that low, so low that……”. having used language like this, you are not too far off from being a bigot who banks on using verbal attacks rather than presentation of facts. what exactly you were referring to when you alleged the Clintons as “so low”? give facts, don’t slander.
WHY DID OBAMA SHUT DOWN THIS WEBSITE? http://www.islamichope.com
IT WAS UP AND RUNNING YESTERDAY AND NOW ITS BEEN SHUT DOWN!! THAT SHOULD PUT A QUESTION MARK IN EVERYONES MIND!
Hillary is playing the old plantation game - divide the blacks and then you will conquer them and keep them under your control. Wake up black America and see what the Clintons are doing. They are trying to embarass Barack and using his brothers and sisters to accomplish it. How desperate for power can one be that they would resort to dirty tricks and lies to gain votes.
to truman—before the emergence of Barack Obama, did any African-American question the work both the Clintons had done for their cause? Who coined the phrase “the first Black President” describing how much President Clinton advocated on behalf of their civil rights and well-being? Now, seeing Obama’s being accepted by the predominantly white Iowans, the Clintons are being jettisoned from their vocabulary as their friends and comrades to being their enemy. What an irony! Just who is more polarising now (though it may not be what Obama anticipated) by intentionally or unintentionally treading the racial divide territory? it’s the African-Americans’ increasing support of Obama that will drive other ethnicities to Hillary’s camp. Just what the black voters expect Obama to do in return if and when he is elected the President? What if his policies do not reflect the will of the black voters. He will be torn to pieces in juggling between his black brothers and sisters and the rest of the country on sensitive racial issues. Instead of uniting this country, he will end up smashing it. it’s Apocalyse Now! Race is and will remain a divisive issue in America.
Oh Truman…plantation game? Do you really think the black community is that stupid? The Clintons did more for blacks and latino’s than any president in history. Get your facts straight before you embarrass yourself with such stupid “racist” remarks! It’s not about black, white or woman divided, its about who has the experience to lead this country to a better tomorrow. Also, give the black communities more credit, they are just as smart and educated as us white folks!
I agree, Hillary will be a GREAT PRESIDENT NOW !!!
The Bill and Hillary co-presidency had THE THREE GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS of any modern president.
Why in 1994, after just two short years in office, they gave us the first REPUBLICAN SENATE in 8 years (1986). The 8 seat swing gave the Republicans solid control (53-47) of the Senate for years.
An even greater accomplishment, also in 1994 after short years of hard work, they also gave us the FIRST REPUBLICAN HOUSE in 40 years (since 1954) !!!! Think about that. We were in the wilderness for 40 years and Bill and Hillary fixed that problem in just two short joy filled years. That 230-204 majority worked to give America its first budget surplus since … forever.
And with runner up honors, the swing for 12 REPUBLICAN GOVERNORSHIPS was also great.
Now the final great accomplishment too Bill a bit longer. He had to work extremely hard to accomplish this. It took him 8 solid, sordid years to do it, but he did it. His GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT EVER is that he gave us 8 years of REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT - GEORGE BUSH.
So please, go vote for Hillary. She can accomplish this change NOW - from Day one.
The Progressive Review lists Clinton’s best accomplishment:
“THE HIDDEN ELECTION
USA Today calls it “the hidden election,” in which nearly 7,000 state legislative seats are decided with only minimal media and public attention. But there was an important national story here: evidence of the disaster that Bill Clinton was for the Democratic Party. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, Democrats held a 1,542 seat lead in the state bodies in 1990. As of 1998 that lead had shrunk to 288. That’s a loss of over 1,200 state legislative seats, nearly all of them under Clinton. Across the US, the Democrats controled only 65 more state senate seats than the Republicans.
Further, in 1992, the Democrats controlled 17 more state legislatures than the Republicans. After 1998, the Republicans controlled one more than the Democrats. Not only was this a loss of 9 legislatures under Clinton, but it was the first time since 1954 that the GOP had controlled more state legislatures than the Democrats (they tied in 1968).
Here’s what happened to the Democrats under Clinton, based on our latest figures:
- GOP seats gained in House since Clinton became president: 48
- GOP seats gained in Senate since Clinton became president: 8
- GOP governorships gained since Clinton became president: 11
- GOP state legislative seats gained since Clinton became president: 1,254
as of 1998
- State legislatures taken over by GOP since Clinton became president: 9
- Democrat officeholders who have become Republicans since Clinton became
president: 439 as of 1998
- Republican officeholders who have become Democrats since Clinton became president: 3″
Go Bill and Hillary - only they have the experience to be the Republican’s best friends !!!
by the way, there is a very slight difference between choosing an “idol” and an “idiot”. But one thing for sure it reflects the sentiments of this country—9/11 prompted a collective psche to follow an idiot and a fairy tale so credible that an “idol” is the catchphrase for “change”. it’s all about appeal and packaging.
All these dreamers, worshippers, pilgrims and admirers should get a reality check.
Wow, what a list the Progressive Review has there. I had forgotten much of this stuff.
Here is how the Clinton’s operate:
to Nickatnight—this is why and how our system works. when elected officials don’t perform, they get kicked out. it’s a total adherence of the basic principles of our constitutional right. it’s not unusual after 8 years of Democrats being in power that either the voters got Democrats-fatigue or the Republicans became more appealing to the electorates after years sitting on the back bench. the collapse of the Republican majority (after 7 years of Republican majorty and presidency) is another testimony of such fatigue. People want a change of their leaders (or their government) even if they perform well in office. the loss of the Republican last year of course had a lot to do with the Iraq war and the Katrina disaster.
In the case of President Clinton, the statistics you provided do not reflect the failure of his administration but rather the resurgence of the Republican Party and the changing mood of this country towards the Democrats. Beside, it’s absurd to relate the election in the local level with the Presidency. Don’t try to side-swipe the Clintons by throwing out such irrelevant statistics. you think we are so dumb to be fooled? don’t forget Gore won the popular vote in 2000. who said the people wanted the Democrats out? Now they are suffering from their own mistake (and the mistake of the Supreme Court).
Are the Clinton’s Corrupt? Do they encourage a Culture of Corrution? If the Hsu fits, …
to Nickatnight—let’s set the record straight. of all the socalled allegations and indictments, were the Clintons found guilty of any charge? no matter how much and how hard you insinuate, the kind of allegations you claimed have no legs. Beside, why implicate Hillary when it was Bill Clinton who was found to have personal conduct problem? your logic in comparing the number of officials being indicted or resigned under ethical cloud does not stand either (all of these have yet to be verified let alone confirmed). all you need to say is simple—do not vote Hillary. you don’t need that much inuendo material to prove a point, just say you don’t like the Clntons. Period.
You have the right not to vote for anyone but stop your despicable innuendos.
as for your socalled “confidential memo from Jay Rockefeller” in 1993, how in the world you could dig up such vintage materials back in 20th century? why are you so naive as to believe that Obama did not want to attack. just listen to his speeches mocking Hillary and you will know Obama does not have any higher moral standard than anybody. Why is he surrounding himself with former Clinton advisers? In politics, there is no such thing as being a nice guy. Obama might act nice when his popularity is still high. His advisers already started to urge him to tit for tat for fear he will lose traction. Let’s see how long his “Change” message can stand before his marbles begin to fizzle.
to lochukung:
So who gave HSU the $800,000 plus that he funneled to the Clinton’s? What corrupt favor’s were wanted for that money?
What other corrupt influences are trying to buy a President? Who and what crime organizations are they linked to?
Why is Hillary being sued by one of the top donor’s to her Senate campaign?
