Obama Camp: We Won Nevada “Delegate Battle;” Claims Over 200 “Incidents of Trouble at Caucus Sites”

The Obama is set to hold a conference call in the next few minutes to discuss what it sees as at least a partial victory here in Nevada - they are claiming that while Hillary won 12 delegates, Senator Obama won 13. In an email advising the conference call, the campaign quotes Clinton Communications Director Howard Wolfson from a 1/16/08 Washington Post story, during which Wolfson said, “This is a race for delegates. It is not a battle for individual states. As David knows, we are well past the time when any state will have a disproportionate influence on the nominating process.”

Here is the statement sent by the Obama campaign to reporters on the Nevada caucus.

Statement from Barack Obama:

“We’re proud of the campaign we ran in Nevada. We came from over twenty-five points behind to win more national convention delegates than Hillary Clinton because we performed well all across the state, including rural areas where Democrats have traditionally struggled. The reason is because tens of thousands of Nevadans came out to say that they’re tired of business-as-usual in Washington and ready for a President who can bring this country together, take on the lobbyists and special interests, and end the politics of saying and doing whatever it takes to win an election. It is the kind of politics that feeds our cynicism and distracts us from taking on the real challenges facing America – an economy that’s left working families struggling, a broken health care system, and a war in Iraq that must end.

“We ran an honest, uplifting campaign in Nevada that focused on the real problems Americans are facing, a campaign that appealed to people’s hopes instead of their fears. That’s the campaign we’ll take to South Carolina and across America in the weeks to come, and that’s how we will truly bring about the change this country is hungry for.”

Statement from Obama campaign manager David Plouffe

“We currently have reports of over 200 separate incidents of trouble at caucus sites, including doors being closed up to thirty minutes early, registration forms running out so people were turned away, and ID being requested and checked in a non-uniform fashion. This is in addition to the Clinton campaign’s efforts to confuse voters and call into question the at-large caucus sites which clearly had an affect on turnout at these locations. These kinds of Clinton campaign tactics were part of an entire week’s worth of false, divisive, attacks designed to mislead caucus-goers and discredit the caucus itself.

“We will investigate all of these thoroughly and would encourage anyone who had concern about actions at the caucus sites to call (866) 675-2008.”

Hey! We all know Obama won more delegates, and we know Fox news is backing Hillary over Obama. Fair, Balance? Think again!

After this week’s Main Stream media’s emphasis in show casing Hillary and all of her underhanded dirty tricks, I have decided to only watch C-span or go to the Clear Politics website for any information or poll information I need.

Is is blatantly clear that MSNBC, CNN and FOX are getting big bucks to showcase Hillary Clinton. I am a woman who will never vote for her. Just the mere thought of how she thinks that she is entitled to winning every Primary and Caucus by shedding crocodile tears and looking for sympathy from women is nauseating.

You went so negative on Obama and had the camera in Bill Clinton’s face like his words are the gospel of politics. This whole mainstream media thing is so unfair and one-sided.

I am just through watching any of the networks/

Once again, the candidate with the least ability to run America has lost. Yet, that is not the real story. The real story is the fact that Obama’s surrogates are already out attempting to claim this as an Obama victory — when he actually tied in delegates for tonight 12 and 12.

They are then attempting to pretend that Clinton’s win was not decisive in another state — no, there are troubles, difficulties, and errors. Clinton cannot win fairly in the land of Obama. Clinton can only lie, cheat, and steal.

Obama and his harpies continue to pretend to be the candidate of hope, change, and a new Washington…all while engaging in the same politics that they supposedly want to change.

If Clinton wins fairly, honestly, and decisively? Well, clearly it’s the press’ fault. They pushed Clinton above Obama. It is their bias that caused their precious peddler of hope to lose. These are the people who pretend to be above this action. Congratulations Obama shrills, you are the thing that you hate — a political hypocrite.

I guess the idea of every vote counting, does not really mean that every vote really count. What is the purpose of voting in primaries if the candidate how wins the primary (ie: most votes) does not win the most delegates. This is trully a ridiculous and flaued system.

PS;
Senator Obama claims to be the candidate for “change”, but yet plays all the same political games and dirty politics as every other candidate. (ie-the negative spanish ads in nevada) if he trully wants to “change” Washington, he should first take a long hard look at himself.

But some election officials said they were confused about Mr. Obama’s claim that he more delegates than Mrs. Clinton.

“I don’t know why they’re saying that,” said Jill Derby, President of the Nevada State Democratic Party, referring to the Obama campaign. “We don’t select our national delegates the way they’re saying. We won’t select national delegates for a few more months

The Clintons are known for trying to win at any price. So I do not doubt that they would try their level best to disenfranchise voters. But really have voters forgotten how Bush came to defeat Gore? The main reason was Clinton fatigue. People were sick of the scandals, egosim, the dirty tactics, and whining of the Clintons. We felt that the office of the Presidency had been demeaned.

Now Bill Clinton is out there on the campaign trail, with his angry, disgusting tirades. I sincerely hope that Democrats wake up to the disaster that a Hillary Clinton nomination would prove. In the past, I have been the sort of person who just goes into the polling booth to punch a straight Democratic ticket. But I draw the line at HRC.

Do we really want to contemplate having Bill and Hillary back in the White House? Do we really want Bill Clinton’s sex life back on the front page?

Obviously, I am supporting Obama. The day HRC becomes the nominee is the day that I turn Republican.

None of the candidates can match Ron Pauls conservative record, integrity and support for the constitution and his consistant track record with no flip flops. During his 20 years in Congress Ron Paul has never taken a government-paid junket, has never voted himself a pay raise, and does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program. He has never voted for an unbalanced budget or to raise taxes, or to allow the govt. to spend our Social Security Fund money on other govt. expenses. He is a Statesman with integrity, who walks the talk. Paul, a veteran has received more donations from the troops then any other candidate. He served his country as a Flight Surgeon in the Air Force for 5 years. He voted against the war in Iraq, instead urged Congress to hunt down the terrorists responsible fo 9/11. Ron Paul will bring out troops home immediately to protect our national security and our borders here at home. Ron Paul is a Christian with true Christian values. He is not like other Christians who are warmongers, who support illegal pre-emptive wars, torture, and the killing of hundreds of thousand of innocent Iraqis. We owe nearly 10 trillion dollars, and continue to borrow money from China and others for this illegal war. We are virtually bankrupt. Ron Paul voted against the Real ID card, and the Patriot Act which violates are consitutional rights. He will restore habeas Corpus and our constitutional rights. As it stands, the Miltary Commission act and recent Presidential Executive Orders give the President the power to arrest any U.S. citizen, (anti war journalists, war protestors, etc), take their property and put them in jail WITHOUT the right of due process. Wake Up America. Save the Republic, vote for Ron Paul.
