Huckabee: Anybody with IQ above Broccoli, knows I am a Conservative
Charleston, SC-
Last night at the Citadel, the historic southern military school located here in Charleston, GOP presidential aspirant Mike Huckabee positioned himself in defense battle mode, warning the crowd of 400 supporters about the barrage of attacks from his enemy entities, like the Club for Growth, that are questioning his conservative credentials. Huckabee defended his record.
“Folks, I don’t know what you are going to hear, about that I’m not a conservative, but when you cut taxes, and you increase the per capita income, you improved the schools, and you rebuild the roads, and you preserve the national resources, and you streamline government, your government grows at a rate that is half that of the average of all states,” Huckabee said, his voice rising. “Call it anything you want to, but anybody with an I.Q. above broccoli calls that conservative, rock-solid, kind of leadership.”
With the South Carolina primary only a couple days away, every hit, and every maneuver counts, in this tight race.
The Club for Growth has been especially critical of Huckabee, running negative ads against him in different primary states. Yesterday, in South Carolina they held a press conference, again denouncing what they consider the former Arkansas governor’s liberal spending history. A counter presser was also held yesterday by a group of pro-Huckabee Arkansas business leaders here in the palmetto state, they defended Huckabee’s legislative record, and cited links from donors to rival Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, to Club for Growth financiers.
UPDATE:
From Huckabee campaign.
Question: What does $585,000 buy you? Answer: It bought Mitt Romney backers a smear job against Mike Huckabee orchestrated by Beltway Insiders.
The Club for Growth has an affiliated 527 group, Club for Growth.net, running anti-Mike Huckabee ads in early primary states. - At least $585,000 in contributions from Mitt Romney financial backers. - Club for Growth has spent $750,000 against Governor Huckabee in Iowa, South Carolina and Michigan. He sounds paranoid ….
Right on Mike Huckabee!!! I think it is time to expose those that are distorting and lying about your record. It is time to investigate the motives of those behind all the dishonesty.
Did he really say that he cut taxes? I thought this was the guy that raised taxes in order to pay the college tuition fees of the children of illegal immigrants. That doesn’t sound very conservative to me. I guess my IQ really is below that of broccoli.
Isn’t this the guy that also stated last year that he when he was elected president one of the first things that he would do is ban smoking in all public areas? Now he says that he wouldn’t do that, but rather leave it up to the states to make that decision. Sounds like he’s looking for votes where ever he can get them.
Like CintiKid said, this guys sound paranoid!
interesting but it’s only politics. for really fascinating commentaries check out

I consider myself a fiscal conservative. Huckabee is one of the biggest phonies in this race. He is playing the religious card, not all Republicans are religious fanatics, practically no Democrat or Independent lay claim to this fanaticism. Someone should tell Huckabee he will need votes outside the bible belt to win the White House. McCain is same old story as our present administration, no change there, he will still keep on beating the war drums and the majority of the people in this country are sick of the Iraq mess. There are more problems in this country than the Iraq war mess that leaves McCain with no other expertise. Again, I remind the Republican party they can’t win on just the Republican vote. Time to think outside the box and look at the majority of American’s wishes instead of the small group beating the war drums and pushing religion over our Constitution. My vote will go for Romney he is change (what the majority of Americans want) the reason Obama is so popular..change.. get it? I will vote for a Democrat if either Huckabee or McCain win this election.
nice to meet you. What are you going to flip flop on today.
We can now officially add the title “Huckaliar” to “Huckacrit” and “Huckabiggot”.
Mike Huckabee is clearly the most conservative candidate. The people of South Carolina know the truth. Good work Mike. We are with you.
Well call me broccoli, then!
I’d trust Fred Thompson’s opinion over the Huckster’s. BTW, he has yet to respond to the criticisms that Fred leveled at him during the debate.
Here’s a great article about Huckabee from someone in Arkansas:
http://www.townhall.com/blog/g/33391ddb-ed1f-4bc3-9d19-cdca6181d5d4
Hahaha That Huckabee is a really funny guy, why is he always telling jokes though? Man he needs to be on SNL… thats it he should be a host on SNL!…
Huckabee is a liar and a liberal (sorry to be redundant). The only two candidates who will actually govern as conservatives are Romney and Thompson.
I hope we can get this liberal-spending, self-righteous, truth-twisting, Jesus-using poser out of the race soon. Every time I see his face I vomit in my mouth.
Finally a REAL conservative. Mike has my vote 100%.
I would NEVER vote for a baby killer like mitt!!! He offers 50 bucks to murder babys…all ths spin in the world will not change THAT. mitt is a two faced greasy hair salesman….I will NEVER vote for him.
Mike will cut taxes, fight the IRS, seal the borders, be tough on crime, fight for un-born children, who mitt likes to murder.
VOTE FOR MIKE THE ONLY REAL HUMAN IN THE RACE
Wow all these comments are real special. I guess if you can’t argue with the truth you just make things up and call names like a child on a playground! Go Mike Huckabee!
Yeaaaah, I think it is time to expose those that!!
Huckabee is Presidential Material. He was a good governor, he loves God, guns, small business, a strong national defense and abolishing the IRS. What more can you ask from a southern gentleman?
“Mark” and “Matt”
Obviously, he must not be very smart because HE ISN’T A CONSERVATIVE. Look at his record! You refer to childishness, look who is calling names! Huckabee is ashamed of his record and his honesty! He called Mitt Romney a Flipp-flopper, and look “All illeagals go home!” Wait what about the whole “Can’t punish the children for the sins of the parents” thing. Wait, Wait a minute… isn’t that “original sin!” It looks like he has more issues with his faith than we thought!
I bet huckabee regrets joining mcCain in a tag team effort to take out romney! Its coming back to hurt him. What comes around goes around. Many of the evangelices are going for romney(looked what happened in michigan) There is not many mormons in michigan.
Mark,
You really think I am just “calling names”? Explain why you believe this character is not:
* liberal-spending - analyze his spending and tax increase record in Arkansas…Club for Growth is critical for a good reason
* self-righteous - he just proclaimed that the Constitution should be rewritten according to his particular interpretation of “God’s Law”; his ridiculously high commutation record as governor shows how he esteems his own sense of justice above those of the Arkansas judicial system
* truth-twisting - he frequently distorts his own record to appear as if he is some sort of fiscal conservative; he personally and viciously assaults his opponents while using his honey-dipped tongue to appear as if he is above the fray; his hard-drive destroying escapade in Arkansas shows that he is willing and able to stoop quite low to hide the truth
* Jesus-using - he is using his evangelical appeal as a screen to hide his severe lack of true conservative credentials and lack of leadership skills
At least Mike doesn’t kill babys for 50 bucks, like mitt does….THAT IS SICK!!!!
I’m amazed at how many people are boasting of how much lower they rank on the “broccoli IQ” scale! Mike IS a conservative, and BTW, it is a fact that the members of the “Club for Growth” are HUGE supporters of Romney. Paranoid? I think not. And no, he didn’t raise taxes for illegals, he simply okayed the funds that the state wanted to put into education in order to get Arkansas out of the cellar on education. A little actual research goes a long way in finding out the truth. Stop listening to the politicos and find out some of this for yourself. Romney has a lot of people on the payroll, directly and indirectly. Don’t let them buy the Republican Party in 2008.
Wow, DB. Good one. What grade are you in?
Jeff,
I’m in the grade that actually cares for another human’s life over a vote
Pastor Huckabee said eloquently that Jesus is too smart to run for office. He also acknowleged that anything is fair in politics. As a consequence pastor (disciple) Huckabee should follow Jesus rather then asking Jesus to follow him to support his political ambition. Do not mix religion with politics , unless you are a hypocryte. In order not to make his religion a laughing stock, pastor Huckabee should run for pastor in chief.
Huckabee is the only candidate outside of Washington D.C. that was elected to office up to the maximum term limit. The people of Arkansas liked the job he was doing so much that they voted him in again and again. Lets see while in office he improved the schools, improved the health care system, improved the economic conditions, improved the interstate system (that’s roads for those that have a I.Q. lower then broccoli) and by the way he did all this while ballancing the budget, and more then likley on the way to doing all this he converted a few sinners over to christyanity. Go Huckabee!!!
As for McCain he has been and always will be part of the problem in Washington.
As for Romney he has flipped back and forth so much you can’t tell what he is for today, but not to worry he will change again tomorrow. The candidate for change.
DB, so when did you start suckling Mikey’s teat of lies? You are so naive it is almost cute.
All of you Huckabee suporters that think Huckabee is conservative on anything other than life and marraige need to look up the definition of conservative in the dictionary. And anyway, all of his so called “ideas” about fixing the nation are not even achievable without amending the constitution. He is all talk, healthcare for example…(paraphrasing) “we need to focus on preventative healthcare to fix rising healthcare costs”. Good one Huckabee, focus on preventative healthcare and all of a sudden no one will get cancer or aids and our health care costs will go down! Huckabee has no real solutions and is a pro life democrat.
Those that think you need to keep religion out of politics are the same people that has taken prayer out of schools, think that the pledge of allegiance should be changed, and are confused because they always start every session of congress with a prayer, and on the money we use it has In God We Trust. This country was founded on religion and if you had an I.Q. above broccoli you would know this.
Again, I truly believe that the only true conservative candidate is Fred Thompson. He has a solid record, takes a strong stance on securing our borders, stands strong on defense, supports our 2nd ammendment rights, supports the right to life, and is not afraid to take the unpopular but correct stand on tough issues. Huckabee seems to be a nice fellow, but I just can’t trust him when we look at what his record is in Arkansas. He is an eloquent speaker, who handles religious questions in a beautiful and understandable way- as we would expect from a pastor, however, personality cannot be the main drive for my vote in this primary. We are dealing with too many important issues in this election, and we cannot continue to sell ourselves out to Rhinos again and again. Republicans need to stand strong, hold our candidates to tough standards, and not accept anything but a strong candidate who supports all of our basic beliefs.
It is true that Fred Thompson is behind, but he can make a come back in South Carolina. Do the right thing, research the candidates and their past positions, and then vote for Fred Thompson. Help us to take back our party, and lead it back to its true conservative roots!
Romney has spent 40 million dollars of his own money! That’s not a conservative, that is a grab for power. His campaign is top down - push it in your face marketing, not grass roots. Romney knows that many people are gullible and can be swayed with slick marketing and smear campaigns. Just instill a little doubt and you can get the results you want.
America has been controlled by the rich and powerful - America belongs to the people - not the rich and powerful and we are going to take it back.
If Huckabee can run such a successful campaign with only grass roots money, he proves that he is a conservative from the people. Mike Huckabee is the real deal and we need to elect him!
Don’t be fooled, Romney is not running to serve the people, he like Hillary is running for power and self interest.
mitt giving $50 abortions is NO lie. Look it up.
when did you start suckling the rich elite’s teat of lies. you KNOW they are going to attack someone willing to fight the IRS and stop the IRS from lining their pockets with OUR paychecks.
Jeff, you are making a fool of yourself. Just for the sake of your ignorance, DB is referring to Romney’s approval of offering a $50 copay for abortions. This is a fact which you can check on. You can try to step on someone with insults when you are embarrassed by you ignorance or you can do a little research. Now you can insult me and prove me right.
“Teat of lies” was my line, DB, so don’t use it again or I might have to accuse you of being unoriginal.
Oh, and perhaps you should go join the Dems, Twinkie…they have a monopoly on emotionally-driven politics that ignore the country’s real issues. You’d feel quite welcome over there.
Jeff,
I was using your line against you on PURPOSE. you’re not very bright are you?
You are proven wrong and all you have is insults. Maybe YOU should join the dems, you sound JUST like one.
Governor Huckabee is a true conservative. I researched him thoroughly before deciding to support him and his record has been completely falsified by the media and Club for Growth. It is a fact that Romney’s supporters have given nearly $600,000 to Club for Growth to attack Huckabee. Huckabee has a more conservative fiscal record than Romney—Romney hid tax increases in “fees”.
If you rely on Fox News or conservative radio for your opinions you may want to know that Mitt Romney’s company, Bain Capital has been in the process for a year of acquiring Clear Channel which owns over 1,100 radio and 30 tv stations around the country. It just so happens that Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, and Beck among others are all carried on Clear Channel radio stations.
Mitt Romney had been preparing for the presidency well before he became governor of Mass….he was known as “the absent governor” in Mass because of his do-nothing administration.
Please do your research and don’t be fooled by Romney and the media. No one should be able to buy the presidency. If this happens, our country is in big trouble.
Wow No wonder the rich elite on clear channel and fox love mitt soooo much. HE IS ONE OF THEM AND HE WILL BE PAYING THEIR PAYCHECKS!!!!
Club for growth attacking Mike and they are getting rich off of OUR paychecks in the for of tax kick backs. You have to be an idiot, or Jeff, to belive their attack ads.
Mitt is trying to buy the election. LETS STOP HIM!!!!
McCain is sending out a postcard mailing in South Carolina that is misleading on more than one point.
* It says that “Romney provided taxpayer-funded abortions,” a distortion. Romney’s Massachusetts health-care plan faced a court order requiring abortions to be covered.
* It says Romney “refused to endorse Bush Tax Cut Plan,” but fails to note that McCain himself voted against it.
* It says, “Hillary tried to spend $1 million for a Woodstock museum” until “John McCain said NO.” In fact, McCain wasn’t present for the most important votes on the project.
A copy of the mailer was provided to us by the Mitt Romney campaign at our request, after news accounts about it surfaced over the weekend.
It shows a smiling John McCain promising to “fight for lower taxes” and to “veto every single pork-barrel bill that crosses my desk.” Fair enough. Those pledges sound very similar to promises Romney himself has been making. But the mailer goes on to draw a picture of Romney’s record as governor of Massachusetts that is so distorted as to discredit McCain’s claim to be the candidate of “straight talk.”
Taxpayer-Funded Abortions?
One section says in bold letters: “Romney provided taxpayer-funded abortions.” That’s unfair and misleading at best and certainly leaves a false impression. Romney never pushed for taxpayer funding for abortions. The state law he signed provided greatly expanded state-subsidized health insurance for low-income residents, but it left decisions about what should be covered to an independent body, the Commonwealth Connector. It was that body, not Romney, that ruled that abortions would be covered.
In truth, the state had little choice but to cover abortions. The state Supreme Court had ruled in 1980 that the Massachusetts Constitution confers on Massachusetts women an even broader right to abortion than does the U.S. Constitution. It restated in a 1997 decision that the state must pay for medically necessary abortions if it pays for all other medically necessary procedures including services in connection with childbirth.
It is possible to argue (and some have done so) that Romney might have put up a public fight to narrow the abortion coverage had he chosen to do so, or that the Commonwealth Connector decided to cover more than is “medically necessary.” But it is simply false for McCain to claim that “Romney provided taxpayer funded abortions” when taxpayers had been ordered by the courts to pay for them long before Romney took office.

Max, Huckabee actually gave a few ideas on the preventative posture in health care. For one he suggested that insurance companies pay the monthly membership fees of those that would go to health clubs to stay in shape. Reduce premiums for those that lose certain amounts of weight. Pay for tests that would catch certain cancers before they get out of hand, instead of paying for the costs that are incurred for those dying of cancer after it was discovered in the advanced stages. There is more but you get the idea. You aren’t for him so you didn’t do the research. He has some very good ideas. I live in Arkansas and was here during the Huckabee years. He was a fantastic governor. Challange this and I will be glad to expound on the details. I experienced them first hand and have the correct information. But keep in mind Arkansas is a Democratic strong hold and Huckabee is a Republican and he reached across party lines and made this a much better state. The people agree here as he was either Lt. Governor or Governor for 12 years. Of course, the most crazed liberals, who found themselves in the minority, like the Club for Greed, were in a frenzy, but there will always be those that feed on hate and find themselves irrational.
Wow, Romney is got to go. How dirty can a man get…………
Huckabee is having a free ride by hijacking a religion then cries foul for being outspent.
How pathetic!
Take your heads out of the sand and understand that the Club For Growth is part of the ultra conservative think tank that is fighting for their very lives if Mike Huckabee becomes our president, because he will bring small business’ back into prominance here in America giving us American made products and giving jobs back to the American citizen, therby stepping on the toes of multinational corporations who’s prime greedy interests is to send their factories overseas and put money in their pockets and to hell with the ignorant American people.
With the Huckabee fair tax plan we would get rid of the IRS and deminish government and the size of their bureaucrocratic control. Does the fair tax sound like a liberal or a conservative idea? And their would be no need for the Feds, you know, the people that are resposible for devaluing our dollar to the point that it is almost worthless.
Make no mistake about it, the corporate elite are fighting for their very lives and are spewing half truths, taking words out of context, twisting, name calling like little children when their toys are taken away, and spending millions of dollars (which they have plenty of), trying to put down Mike Huckabee (a man that understands the people and talks to the people).
It is amazing that Huck is doing as well as he is considering that he is attacked by the conservative elite and the talking heads like Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingrham, some on Fox News Network, etc, and no wonder considering that Mitt Romney’s company owns Clear Channel Communictions, a company that pays and pulls the strings of said talking heads.
GO HUCK! He’s the only one who is truly changing the face of politics. The elite are running scared!! He not only has to go against the money in his party, but against the so-called Fair and Balanced media. He’s making a mockery of those who think they can buy the Presidency and those who are trying to smear his record, including in blogs likes this.
FUNNY, I ALWAYS THOUGHT I HAD A DECENT IQ. I WOULD DEFINATELY SAY MY IQ IS HIGHER THAN THAT OF BROCCOLI. AND YET, I’M JUST NOT BUYING IT HUCKABEE!!
THERE ARE ALSO A LOT OF CONSERVATIVE COMMENTATORS WHO AREN’T BUYING IT: SEAN HANNITY , LAURA INGRAHM AND RUSH LIMBAUGH TO NAME A FEW.
I CAN’T BELIEVE HE STILL INSISTS TO PEOPLE THAT HE CUT TAXES!! YES, HE MAY HAVE CUT SOME TAXES, BUT HE RAISED WAY MORE THAN HE CUT!!! HIS NET TAX INCREASE AS GOVERNOR WAS HALF A BILLION DOLLARS! HALF A BILLION FOLKS! HE IS THE MOST MISLEADING AND SLICK CANDIDATE IN THIS RACE.
I HONESTLY WAS CONSIDERING VOTING FOR HIM WHEN HE FIRST STARTED RISING IN THE POLLS BECAUSE I LIKED LISTENING TO HIM. BUT I HAVE A BRAIN, THANK HEAVENS, AND AM ABLE TO SEE THROUGH ALL OF THE FLUFF!! (HE GETS OTHERS TO DO HIS DIRTY WORK FOR HIM FOR FREE–MEDIA, PASTORS, PUSH-POLLERS–SO HE CAN CLAIM TO BE SWEET AND INNOCENT)!
I WOULD NOT VOTE FOR HUCKABEE IF HE WERE THE LAST CANDIDATE ON EARTH! I WILL VOTE FOR RON PAUL BEFORE I VOTE FOR HUCKABEE!
JH,
Can you do anything except cite what Clear Channel employees say? Hannity, Ruch, Ingram are all on mitt’s payroll. So its hard to take what they say seriously……they have millions of dollars of interest in mitt to win. Also, Mike was REQUIRED by law to raise the taxes that he did raise.

The financial backers of Club For Growth.net are the same backers as those for Romney? Oh my, there must be a conspiracy afoot.
Or perhaps…just maybe…the same individuals who favor cutting and limiting government spending are attracted to Romney’s conservative fiscal record and utterly repelled by the liberal nature of Huckabee’s.
Oh, and how is truthfully pointing out someone’s record a “smear job.” Huckabee’s record is smearing the man a good one.
Jeff,
Or perhaps club for greed stands to loose tens of millions in tax kick backs if Huck gets in. The glub for greed is full of corruption and under the table money….MIKE WILL FIGHT THIS!!!
TO DB
IT REALLY MAKES ME MAD WHEN PEOPLE POST OUTRIGHT LIES!!! YOU MAY NOT REALIZE YOU ARE LYING, MAYBE YOU’VE BEEN TOLD THAT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS THE GOSPEL TRUTH BY YOUR HUCKABEE LOVING PASTOR, BUT LET’S GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT:
MITT ROMNEY’S PRIVATE HEALTH CARE PLAN DID NOT (I repeat-Did Not) INCLUDE ABORTION HELP! THE FEDERAL COURT (repeat-Federal Court) MANDATED THE ADDITION OF THE ABORTION CO-PAY.
FOR YOU, OR ANYONE ELSE, TO SAY THAT MITT ROMNEY KILLS BABIES FOR $50 IS NOT ONLY A LIE, ITS A DISGUSTING LIE!! IT’S OBVIOUS THAT YOU HUCKABEE SUPPORTERS ARE GETTING PRETTY DESPERATE TO BE GOING TO SUCH LOWS.
AND SHAME ON JOHN MCCAIN FOR BEING DECEPTIVE IN HIS MAILERS, SAYING THAT MITT ROMNEY SUPPORTED TAX-PAYER FUNDED ABORTIONS. IT’S A LIE FOLKS, PURE AND SIMPLE!
MITT ROMNEY WAS A PRO-LIFE GOVERNOR IN A PRO-CHOICE STATE. JUST LOOK AT HIS RECORD, WHEN HE HAD TO MAKE A DECISION, HE CAME DOWN ON THE SIDE OF LIFE EVERY TIME! QUIT BELIEVING EVERYTHING YOU HEAR, AND FIND OUT THE TRUTH FOR YOURSELF!!!
MITT ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT!!!!
We have been voting for well over a quarter of a century in every single election; local and national. Mike Huckabee is the first candidate that we have ever given a campaign contribution. We have given now several times and will give again. He has been smeared constantly by the media (ESPECIALLY Fox News, Sean, Rush) and by the way, I am a FORMER DITTO HEAD, yet - Mike Huckabee is still number one nationally. Why is that? Because there are real people like us that do real research before casting our vote and we KNOW the TRUTH. WE WILL BE VOTING FOR MIKE HUCKABEE!
Governor Huckabee was re-elected until his term limits expired in Arkansas. Do you really think that is because he was a bad Governor???? Get real. Governor Huckabee was named one the BEST FIVE GOVERNORS IN AMERICA by Time Magazine. I have relatives all over Arkansas and I know for a fact they all loved him as their Governor and will be voting for him as President.
Excerpt from Dick Morris article:
Huckabee is a Fiscal Conservative
By Dick Morris
In Arkansas, the income tax when he took office was 1 percent for the poorest taxpayers and 7 percent for the richest, exactly where it stood when he left the statehouse 11 years later. But, in the interim, he doubled the standard deduction and the child care credit, repealed capital gains taxes for home sales, lowered the capital gains rate, expanded the homestead exemption and set up tax-free savings accounts for medical care and college tuition.
Most impressively, when he had to pass an income tax surcharge amid the drop in revenues after Sept. 11, 2001, he repealed it three years later when he didn’t need it any longer.
He raised the sales tax one cent in 11 years and did that only after the courts ordered him to do so. (He also got voter approval for a one-eighth-of-one-cent hike for parks and recreation.)
He wants to repeal the income tax, abolish the IRS and institute a “fair tax” based on consumption, and opposes any tax increase for Social Security
Dick Morris worked for Huckabee and helped him get elected governor. He is a biased source of information.
wow jeff is so wrong that he has to scream at us….
mitt could have fought that part of mandate as not a medical neccessity, but he didn’t..so he is jsut as much to blame
Anyone who will fight the IRS on behalf on the American people, KNOWING they will audit him to death for the rest of his life….has MY VOTE 100%.
THE IRS IS ORGINIZED CRIME!!!!!! TAKE A BITE OUT OF IRS CRIME MIKE!!!!
Go to http://www.FairTax.org and read about it. It will repeal the 16 amendment and make the poor and middle class richer!!!!
Don’t let the elite and the tax lobbyist tell you it’s a bad idea. They will DO ANYTHING to stop the FairTax. The Tax lobbyists/Club for greed already have TV/radio ads out against Mike and telling people to reject him because they are SHAKING IN THEIR BOOTS!!!!
I’m SICK of the IRS stealing my money before I get a chance to touch it. I’ll take a high sales tax, THEN I CAN DECIDE if I want to pay my light bill or the tax lobbyist.
STOP THE IRS FROM RAPING US….VOTE MIKE!!!!!!
Huckabee, you are a pathological liar. You are soft on crime. You hate the taxpayers and want to take more and more and more and more and more from them. You are soft on illegal invaders. You want to foist a nanny state on our great country. You know nothing about international politics or foreign defense. The Dems love you. Why? Because you are one of them. Get out of my face you Republican in name only (RINO).
Sharon….not one single word you said is true……not one. In fact everyword is the EXACT opposite of MIKE
Fred Thompson was a lazy senator, a lazy campaigner, a lazy actor even, and I would bet, along with a great many of the Vegas-types, would be a lazy president. Nixon had it right about this guy way back when. I know you Dead head fred fans are probably lazy too, but you you can do your own research to find out what Nixon said.
Huckablahblahblah is truly appealing to those who can’t think for themselves and utterly appalling to those who do
Jeff,
All you have done is parrot Clear Channel and Club for Greed quotes/adds, who have financial ties to mitt. And you say WE can’t think for ourselves?
to DB
You sure are throwing out accusations fast and furiously:
First you accuse Mitt Romney of being a baby killer,
and now you say he’s paying the salaries of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingrahm.
And they have millions of dollars at stake in this election, (that MUST be the reason that none of them prefer Huckabee as a candidate, they MUST be working for Romney),
Wow, that seems like a big news story that the Mainstream Media would love to get ahold of. How did you get the scoop? Do you have some special inside source? I would love to know where you got this information, please share.
(by the way, Huckabee was NOT REQUIRED by law to raise all of the taxes he raised. Some, for education, but not most. Facts, my friend, are stubborn little things. You’re assuming, when you post, that people have not researched and gotten the facts, but sorry, I have. Oh and your argument applies to Romney, it was REQUIRED by the Federal Court to add the abortion co-pay)
MITT ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT!!!
To ME
SINCE YOU LIKE SHOUTING SO MUCH ABOUT ROMNEY……………………..no I am not going to do it. You mean the supreme court mandated the abortion co-pay, so it wasn’t Mitt’s decision? So it wasn’t Mitt’s fault-it was something that had to be done, according to state law… Hmmm, kind of like how the Ark. Supreme Court mandated that Arkansas raise spending on schools, that little portion of which Mitt so conveniently omitted in his ‘contrast” ads that started the negative campaigning. Karma’s a b….., isn’t it? Reap what you sow. By the way, I don’t dislike Romney and would have no problem supporting the man should he make it it through. But what he said about Huckabee raising taxes has been very damaging and got Huckabee painted as a “serial tax raiser” nationally. Tell me, in what world isn’t this a “turnabout is fair play” scenario? Huckabee has had to pay, let Romney pay as well.
TO JEFF
I COULDN’T HAVE SAID IT BETTER!!!
Dems will win HI, CA, IL, VT, and NJ.
Reps will win the other 45.
JH, um I mean Jeff…..you, my freind, are a kool-aid drinker. See ya at the polls
DB — Huckabee and McCain have been propped up by the liberal media this whole time, and you suggest that support from Limbaugh, Hannity, and Ingrahm is something to be concerned about?
To DB
I, my friend, am a person who researches and listens to all sides. I get information from any source I can find and then I make my decisions based on what I have learned. Kool-aid drinker, not so much. You might want to look in the mirror, with the accusations you’ve been throwing out.
And what about those accusations, are you going to let us all know where you found such “important” information?
(by the way, I’m not Jeff, I happen to be a female, sorry you’re wrong again!)
MITT ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT!!!
Yes, it is fact. The court mandated cost for co-pay for abortions in Massachusetts is true. It was something that Mitt did not have part in and could not touch as governor. When the supreme court makes a decision, it stands. That is the way the state constitution works and that is the way that the federal constitution works. Check the record. Mitt voted pro-life his whole term in office. Just the facts. Now Huckabee said on MSNBC two days ago that he wants to Change the federal constitution to make it more like the Bible. Now that would be what? His intrepretation of the Bible as a president or as a president? And Huckabee squawking about campaign donations is just because Romeny is outstripping him hands down. Huckabee is not getting the donations that Romney is getting so he is jealous and this is mean, dirty politics to try to influence anyone’s vote by it. And the fact is that Romney was successful as a businessman and this is supposed to be BAD??? This is what is wrong with this country in the first place. Yes,continue to attack our businesses and our businessmen and keep driving them out of this country with high taxes and stupid politicians until there isn’t anything left in this country but to hang up the shingle “CLOSED” Yeah, great!! Romney makes jobs and succeeds. Jealousy over that is juvenile. Pitting our citizens against our own businesses and their bosses is ….welll…I won’t go there either…it just makes me so mad to see everyone falling into the trap of deliberating running our businesses overseas…i just can’t speak…
JH = JEff
DB
sorry, you’re wrong again!!
JH = your aveage, political junkie, soccer mom. While I agree with Jeff’s comments, I would like to be able to get credit for my own!
MITT ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT!!!
Well said, Dreamer and JH
Dreamer,
I already conceded that. I don’t blame Mitt for it, its not his fault, I am simply saying he is standing in the same hole that Huckabee was in his situation with taxes, and Mitt was happy to dump the concrete in on Huckabee’s shoes…why doesn’t he think he should get the same treatment for the exact same situation? Why don’t you respond to that? Why can’t someone go around and say that Romney oversaw a $50 co-pay on abortion if you can say Huckabee oversaw an increase in taxes, (even though the govt there grew at half the rate of other state govts? What’s not fair about that?
By the way, I am an urban non-practicing catholic, and I can see that huckabee has to speak to his base constituency in a certain way, and it doesn’t bother me in the least. I like his policies, and I don’t care about his religious stuff. He never governed that way in a place that would have been a lot easier place to do it than in the national government.
DB…Fair Tax is about the unfairest thing to do to our population that could ever be done…that is other than the Arkansas sales tax on GROCERIES that Huckabee instituted as governor…How can you say that putting another tax on purchases is FAIR to the poor in this country? The poor already pay local and state taxes on everything they buy and they can’t buy much now with their dollars. So putting another sales tax on purchases would be fair???? You have totallly lost me with your logic. ‘Xplain…
Dreamer,
the poor would get a check from the Govt every month to cover those costs…thats the buety of it, WE get to keep our entire paycheck and get a chek to cover the basics. Can’t get much fairer that that
JH if you where a real average, political junkie, soccer mom you be voting for Huckabee, plus I can tell you are the same person by the way you speak/type. But, whatever, I’m tired of arguing and all the mitt hair grease in the world will not make me vote for him.
I think it’s safe to say the country is COMPLETELY divided and it will be a sad day in Nov when a dem is elected to run our country into the ground. The republicans have lost their way. The party has turned into rich elitist who are corrupt and serve the almighty dollar. To me, Huckabee stands for the EXACT opposite of this. I know the media distorts his records, like people posting here, but he is our ONLY chance to right our party. I just wish the REAL facts where provided and not distorted fact by people with alternative motives. I think it’s also safe to say that we are getting this from ALL the republican candidates…..a sad day in politics it is
But enough is enough you can fight another republican for the rest of the day.
See you at the polls and god bless!
