Clinton vs Obama: Management Style
Last night’s Democratic debate in Las Vegas kicked off a new dispute over which top candidate has the right approach to actually running the vast bureaucracy that is the executive branch.
Prompting the exchange: Senator Obama’s admission that “I’m not an operating officer. Some in this debate around experience seem to think the job of the president is to go in and run some bureaucracy. Well, that’s not my job. My job is to set a vision of ‘here’s where the bureaucracy needs to go.’”
Last night, Hillary shot back “I do think that being president is the chief executive officer. I respect what Barack said about setting the vision, setting the tone, bringing people together. But I think you have to be able to manage and run the bureaucracy.”
“We’ve seen the results of a president who, frankly, failed at that,” she said. “You know, he went in to office saying he was going to have the kind of Harvard Business School CEO model where he’d set the tone, he’d set the goals and then everybody else would have to implement it. And we saw the failures.”
Obama laughed off the Bush comparison, and fired it back at Clinton. “I’m sure he never lost a paper,” he said. “What he could not do is to listen to perspectives that didn’t agree with his ideological predispositions. What he could not do is to bring in different people with different perspectives and get them to work together.”
Hillary isn’t letting the issue die there, though. At a post-debate rally in Las Vegas, she said “I think the job of the president is to set big goals and bring the country together. But it’s also to manage the government so you get the results you need out of it.”
And in an interview with Bloomberg, she said she was “taken aback” by Obama’s remarks. “We all need to be inspirational and set goals, and I’ve been doing that throughout this campaign,” she said. But Americans “want a president who they believe gets up every single day and works for them. That requires a president who is hands-on. Who after you set the goals and you give the speeches, you go back to the White House and you start holding people accountable.”
“You’ve got to take on this government, you’ve got to run this government, you can’t leave it to others.”

Thunder Thighs can’t even run her own household. She sounds like she’s running for her high school class president. She’s be an international embarrassment to the US of A.
Managers and Leaders are not the same. Hillary is by her own admission a manager. Obama is a LEADER. This country needs a leader, someone who can bring us back together.
Manager vs. Leader:
A manager takes care of where you are; a leader takes you to a new place.
A manager deals with complexity; a leader deals with uncertainty.
A manager is concerned with finding the facts; a leader makes decisions.
A manager is concerned with doing things right; a leader is concerned with doing the right things. A manager’s critical concern is efficiency; a leader focuses on effectiveness.
A manager creates policies; a leader establishes principles.
A manager sees and hears what is going on; a leader hears when there is no sound and sees when there is no light.
A manager finds answers and solutions; a leader formulates the questions and identifies the problems.
Well said Katie. A manager or a cowboy as President is a recipe for disaster.
Well, well,
I have seen so many religious leaders who can inspire and talk like obama, and i dont know if he is cheating on that front. You cant just put some one because of such skills, he may get some job in a comedy central TV Show to make some jokes or go to some reality television show and stand besides Sanjaya. That would be fit for him.
-Steve
President Reagan was not hand-on CEO, he was a Great Leader. His choice of people for his administration was his success. Bush fails because his choice of the people who works for him. I can’t imagine where US will go if we have a president like H.Clinton => dictatorship => micromanagement.
I agree with Katie; this country needs a LEADER not a manager not a hand-on CEO.
skies11, I am not a Clinton fan, but calling her thunder thighs is a bad reflection of you. Are you pencil thin like Kate Moss? Don’t think so.
Katie: Obama is a LEADER? Give me a break. He has not articulate what sort of future let alone tell us now he is going to do it. When he said, give me the papers and I decide sound like Bussh LEADERSHIP!
Thank you, Katie. Can I email your words of manager vs leader to my friends?
Wow what a neat post by Katie.
I thought everyone on this site would want Hillary to win since she’s most likely to make people consider voting Republican!
As a rule, mangers and leaders are not the same. BUT, managers who rise to Chief Executive Officer are indeed leaders also.
Hillary is both a competent manager and a leader with vision.
I grow weary of conservative Republican talking points, (whatever their source) designed to misrepresent Senator Clinton.
Katie - Obama voted “present” over 130 times in the Illinois legislature. Did you know that? That means he passed on voting either “yes” or “no”. He did it on critical issues, too, such as criminal evidence in sentencing hearings for violent criminals, sex crimes, and more. He would not take a position. In his brief tenure in the U.S. Senate, he has neither reached across the isle to join both parites in any legislation, nor sponsored any legislation. At all. Finally, he is TO THE LEFT. If you understand what that means, then you know that he will be unable to bring the parites together. Compared to Clinton, he is FAR TO THE LEFT. Instead of blindly thinking he is a leader, LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAYS OF SUBSTANCE. There is none, no record of bringing anyone together, and no rec ord of doing anything but DUCKING ISSUES, again and again.
Also, your quote makes one wonder how many great leaders get fired by managers, then turn into hobos ranting on street corners.
I am willing to bet that Katie and the others here who support her are under 40. They have not voted enough nor seen enough to know anything meaningful about politics and reality in DC. Obama can’t make the bureaucracy disappear, ever. He needs to know all about it, BEFORE he gets into office, and that is not going to happen.
President Reagan was a B movie actor, at best, and a front for corporate greed.
130 “PRESENT” VOTES - DID YOU ALL KNOW THAT? TELL YOUR FRIENDS.
We actually end up to pick a person whose characters are closer to ours. One important component in management is listening to others, taking different opinions even that are not same as one’s, then analyzing all ideas and making the best (not the most perfect) decision according to one’s principles.
I agree. The President should be a leader who set goals and appoints intelligent people to implement those goals. A president should hold people accountable, but not be bothered with the day to day bureaucracy of government. The truth is I typically agree with Hillary more than I actually like her. But I do not agree with her here, and it leading me even more to support Obama, a true leader.
ARE YOU ALL UNDER 40?
To each his own!
I’ll take a manager over a leader any day. If I can get both, fantastic. But management comes before leadership, in my book.
Don’t talk about — just do it.
skies11, “Thunder Thighs”????
Does your mom know that you didn’t make it to homeroom this morning?
You’re an embarassment to America.
Katie’s remarks certainly resonate. She could actually be quoting an Obama speech. Nonetheless, a nation requires BOTH of it’s effective leaders, i.e., the ability to lead and a knowledge of the destination.
Here is a middle age woman with two master degrees and willing to look into both sides without attacking either candidates and their supporters. Newsweek came out an article to talk about why ‘present’ was voted. You can decide if you were satisfied with the reports. I always asked why they voted the way they voted and gathered articles to read and to analyze the characters behind any decisions.
Obama really does not do that well without his speech in front of him. This country needs leadership and management not a preacher. He does speak well, but no substance behind what he says. Its all pretty words wrapped up in a lot of emotion. We need more than that. He would make me vote republican. Did anyone notice he evaded the muslim issue? Yes he said he was christian but don’t they all say that to get more votes? Not that being muslim is a bad thing. He should be proud to be whatever he is. My pick for president is Hillary
Obama has been the leader in this campaign. Hillary has adopted his message (change, she used to campaign against Bush), some of his lines (hope, fired up, look under the hood, Michell’s expectations); she has adopted his positions (talking to foreign policy leaders, soldiers out);
In terms of management style, Obama has had little problems, two leaked memos by his staff, but he took responsibility for it, it’s done. Hillary’s campaign has been a disaster. She’s fired three staffers and personally apologized to Obama. She’s insulted women and men (vote for a women, pile on, Bill save me), blacks (MLK, fiary tale, shuck and jibe), she’s offended youth (Obama is a kid, but older than Bill was), and she’s offended the Middle East (Muslim attacks, mistake on Pakistan).
In terms of legislative success, Obama has been very successful. He passed the Lugar-Obama Act for nuclear and conventional weapons disarment around the world. He passed the Coburn-Obama Act for transparency in the federal spending, as well as major ethics reform bills in both the State and US Senate. He has passed bills for alternative energy, bills for women and kids health. He fights for Civil Rights, and defends the Constitution.
Obama has been right on many policy issues where Hillary has been wrong: Iraq, Iran, talking with foreign leaders….
For a longer list of what he has done, because it can’t all be listed here, see:
Obama’s legislation
Everyone knows that the job of the president is to run the government from an executive standpoint, that is the job. What Barack was trying to say I’m guessing, is that the more important task that the President must attend to is offering the vision for the Country, if we were electing solely an executive we could pull any of those big money execs like Romney, etc to do the job. We need a leader, one who will offer the country a path for the future, and a high goal to aspire to.
Barack Obama is that leader.
Obama and Hillary have been compared by liberal groups as being essentially the same on the political spectrum. On most issues they are nearly identical including Iraq, healthcare, and the economy.
The difference becomes how they will achieve and their leadership styles. Hillary leads like an Old Guard Democrat, the way she was taught to, so we won’t see much real change in the way things are done. Maybe some legislative change, but by all rights she’s Old Guard.Obama is less certain, he could run politics the same, or if he sticks to his guns, totally differently than we’ve been used to since the 80s. Talking to diplomatic opponents would be a good start.
Also I’d like to point out present is a viable vote, which Illinois constituents haven’t seemed to complain about.Take for example, a bill where Obama and others attempt to derail the voting until certain amendments are added. If you look at the record better instead of media propaganda you’d know that the majority of those presents were in conjunction with a political block, sometimes bipartisan, to try and change some portion of the bill, or object to it even being brought up on the floor.
American is facing a serious economic problem. We need a serious leader that can take on this very serious problem today and in the years ahead. We need a hands on President and Hillary has a vast experience and whether you like her or not we all need her. Wake up America! the country is becoming like a 3rd world economy we need a President who cannot just make inspirational speech and dream but must be a hands on leader.
To “The Truth”- posting the same thing over and over agaid doesn’t make anything more relevant. His “present” votes were part of a deliberate strategy by pro-choice organizations to thwart a punative GOP strategy to bring legislation to the floor over and over again, forcing votes that could be taken out of context. The pro-choice groups ASKED their sympathetic legislators to vote “present.”
Barak is a leader.
By the way, did anyone notice how Hillary COMPLETELY dodged the “what is your biggets fault” question? She said “I get impatient when the change I am trying to affect doesn’t happen quickly enough.” Please.
Barak gave a real, substnantive answer, and she is trying to score cheap political points on it. Plain and simple. How about we ask her for a REAL answer to the question?
God bless Americans. How many Michaels out there still believe Muslim rumors about the senator. Here is a Buddhist. Will I be a suspicious target because of my religion?
Katie, you need to go to church and elect a Pastor to be your president. If lofty words with no substance to show for is someone you called a leader then you need to look at a preacher to be your president.
Any clear minded individual will conclude Hillary is the candidate with leadership that knows the stuffs.
It is high time this country elects someone with capability to manage the country.
Middle - Newsweek? Is that your mainstay? Very small minded. I don’t need to read Newsweek to know about Illinois and what “present” is for. I read other, more informative sources. If you do, too, you know that Obama voted many, many times, even when the rest (100%) of the Illionois legislature voted either “yes” or “no”, twice on the issues I mentioned, and on other critical matters. This means he won’t take a position for the sake of protecting his politics. It means he is hypocritical. There is no way around it. And, be prepared to hear a lot about the “130″ as we proceed. He loses on that alone. He is horrifying because he has no experience for the job. He has done nothing in the U.S. Senate. How can you justify voting for him?
Daley - That is not true in over 1/2 of the 130 votes - read my post to Middle. Get hip or vote for the wrong person, again, just as the country did in ignoring Gore.
Hey Truth? You want to get elected.
Cause sometimes you haveto not make a controversial decision.Sometimes you haveto pick which battles to take flac over.
The Truth, Sorry for my narrow mind. I am listening since you name yourself ‘The Truth’. Tell me what you read and I am willing to follow your guidance to read what you have read.
rc says it succinctly - we are well on the way to becoming a 3rd world country. Now is not the time to pick a youngster who cannot do anything much but give oratory. Once he is off-script, he is tongue tied, pretty much. So clear.
It is interested that NBC went to court to prevent Kucinich appearing on the debate in Nevada. One on the reason for this censorship is that they are afraid that Kucinich will talk about what happen in New Hampshire. The polls were actually correct; indeed there was a fraud benefiting the so-called surprised winner. Eventually the American people will now the truth. And when that happens the propensity will clearly go toward the leader with the sound judgment not the divider. Kucinich really believe that there was a fraud. He supports this belief with hard cash, by paying for the recounts that is now in order. Kucinich believes that Barrack Obama has won the New Hampshire primary; And Hillary Clinton came in second, if the machine were accurate. Technicians who support the Diebold machine were allowed to break the security seal and to change the memory card on the machine during the Election Day under the pretense that the diebold machine broke down. There seems to be evidence that the surprise winner got a bump of +4.5% and the second candidate’s count was subtracting by 2.5%
The “present” vote is a Hillary trying to turn a standard legislative option in Illinois into an issue. It is used by most Illionois Senators at various times.
Out of 4000 votes, Obama used it 130 times. He used it with other Democrats 45 times as a tactical strategy, he used it because he didn’t believe a bills were constitutional, he used it at the request of his supporters, he used it because he didn’t think bills would be effective, because he didn’t like how bills were rushed through the Senate.
Here’s an article that supports his use of the present vote:
Audacity of Attacks
What is it exactly that Obama has accomplished that you makes you all so sure that he is a LEADER???
I am not arguing on Hillary’s side, but beyond Obama’s eloquent speeh-giving skills, I do not see on what basis many of you peg him to be a great leader.
Yes he is excellent orator. But thats about it. There is nothing else about him or his political issues/records/accomplishments that say he is leadership material.
Lets think about it. I am sure as intelligent americans, we are capable of looking beyond a man’s sweet talking words.
It sounds as though Clinton is not just a manager, but a micromanager, who has to control every detail herself. Has anyone out there worked for one of those lately? Remember how it made you feel? How it affected the organization? The larger the organization the more dysfunctional that approach becomes.
Hillary Clinton confused the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Just because Obama said he would lead and organize people to implement, does not mean he would not hold people accountable or be actively managing the government. He did say that, clearly, but as the CEO, he would not presume to think he would be directly involved in every detail. Most companies have a CEO and COO as separate functions; that’s what he was trying to express. The government is much too large for anyone to think they alone can be CEO and COO.
I want a leader who knows how to bring people together and manage them, but also let them do their jobs and hold them accountable.
Obama courts the youth vote, telling them it is time for a change. Well, that change will come when he “fixes” social security “once and for all” (as he promises), by taxing the crap out of that same youth. They will pay for the SS of boomers. Obama can fool the youth, easily, and is doing so.
I am a 57-year old Caucasian male and, unlike what “The Truth” states, I agree with Katie’s eloquent comments about the characteristics of a manager and leader. I’m a life-long “New Deal” democrat and I find Obama uplifting, inspirational and full of hope. Obama is the leader many disillusioned democrats have been searching for many years. He is the creator of dreams for the good of all people.
Thank you Katie!
This is what Hillary said today “You’ve got to take on this government, you’ve got to run this government, you can’t leave it to others.”…and from last night she said her weakness was being impatient with others when they fail to recognize there is so much they can do.
Unfortunately, folks who cannot inpsire others to do often become impatient and bark orders. I think what we all forget is that there are more competent people out there making decisions for america and a leader’s job is to actually be able to lead, not do.
And also to be able to be followed. If you do compare the 2 in their legal professions, then yes Obama has had more leadership experince beginning with his leadeing the harvard law review and his work as a constitutional professor. If you compare them on work in politics, Obama has 8 years of legislative experience against Clinton’s 7 years.
At the end of the day, the country needs leadership, not workhorses. Workhorses and folks who can’t seem to bring in others and get impatient is NOT what we need.
Obama does court the youth vote. And you know what, only him and McCain will. NO other candidate is approaching high school seniors who can now vote, who in large numbers are now registering for primaries.
Who else would we support?A candidate the occasionally makes reference to our current and future issues or one who speaks to use directly, while the rest ignore us?
Thunder Thighs? What a visual :))
I was a registered Republican for 17 years
Early voting opened in Florida this week
I am well over 40
I voted for uh … “thunder thighs”
But would vote for Obama in the general election or even Edwards
8 years of Mr. Family Values is more than enough
We are not a nation of people devoted to corporate greed, war nor torture
The Truth, if only it were so simple. Just like Congressional bills, yes or no votes in Illinois arn’t so simple. They all have many smaller things attatched to those bills. Do you want to put violent criminals away? but on that same bill you will have some budget proposal for saving the whales in Lake Michigan. I don’t think so. Illinois is one of the few states where a third option is available and often times it makes the most sence.
I just thank the powers that be that we have someone like Clinton running.
This country needs a strong leader who has experience in how things are done on the hill.
Not another person who needs to learn the job as they do it.
I won’t say how old I am, pass half century old, an educated woman with upper middle class income. I admire the intelligence of Senator Clinton and her dedications to make our country better. However, being tough is not the same of being firm. Every one can be firm and gentle without provoking others’ resistance. I do respect her and admire her even I may put more thought if I would vote for her if she was nominated.
The Truth, please tell me what you have been reading. I will put those articles and books into my reading list before Feb 5. Thanks!
I have heard some say “he makes me think anything is possible”. Another said “he makes me want to get up and fight”. About what? How childish. What does that have to do with the price of eggs in this, the real world. Anything is not possible. Why can Obama change things? With purported vision? Please. Spare me.
Note to the Truth….
Not sure how old you are, but the youth have more vision, perception, and fortitude to solve problems they the same old, tired folks.
After all, is it not the youth who have created more powerful growth companies that have saved our asses as the same old politicians keep driving our traditional industries into pits.
The old may think they’re wise, but the youth have eyes and hearts. We are not wasted
Middle - Many, many sources. But try realpolitics.com for starters, and stick to it over time.
I hope Hillary isn’t suggesting she has more management experience than Barack.

How come the “thunder thighs” post hasn’t been removed as per the terms of use.
Or is name-calling a “Fox News” thang?
To The Truth
I would vote present as well, it speaks louder than not showing up. And you have no idea what else they wrapped into the votes, you could be voting for stem cell research and voting for tax cuts for the wealthy in the same bill. It is ridiculous to think you fully understand the situation without knowing all the facts. And the facts presented at this point in the campaign are ALL distorted to sway you into what ever type thinking that they want you to believe.
What are you over 40, and they still let you people vote? Whoa, really. Go jump back on the Hillary band wagon and let people make up their own minds. You are not helping anyone.
Undecided
Americans are tired of the same old politics, working partisan politics. I would want to see a leader who could inspire, bring from both sided of the political spectrums and talk with every countries of the world including Cuba and Iran and resorted normalized relationship. The Clinton and Bush empires have failed, and don’t want to see another.
I like Katie’s quote. They are great quotes. But I can tell you, Obama doesn’t fit the bill. He may be great in making us all feel warm and fuzzy and hopeful, but he just not going to a great president who could tackle the messy washington. Washington is an toddler’s playground.
I honestly have no stomach for another sweet talker.
Great leader needs vision, also needs experience; Not only can he/she set direction and has sound strategy, he/she can also get it executed. That can not be achieved by completely hands-off, unless he/she just want to be another front man like Reagan. By the way, I seriously don’t know what is so great about Reagan.
TRUTH, DISTORTS AND CAPITALIZED EVERYTHING. THE PRESENTS ARE A VALID FORM OF VOTE FOR VARIOUS REASON, SPEND LESS TIME READING FROOT LOOPS BOXES AND ACTUAL THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS. CLEARLY 28 YR THE BUSH-CLINTON EMPIRE MUST STOP. I CAN’T BELIEVE WE HAVE TO KEEP PICKING FROM THIS (SHALLOW) POOL, IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON FOR YOUR SAKE AND MINE
Responsible2008 and Garoid - I know all about youth’s insight, etc. Tell me - did you vote for Gore?
Washington is not an toddler’s playground.
Do yourself a favor. If you want to vent, type something here in this blog. If you want to understand the truth about whatever, don’t read all this junk from unknown sources. Go research for yourself from reliable sources and don’t listen to internet babbling idoits.
‘The Truth’, you clearly know nothing about Illinois politics, aren’t interested in learning about the Illinois state constitution, and would therefore do yourself a favor by not ranting about what a ‘present’ vote is or isn’t.
As for expereience, Obama is the state senator responsible for passing the law requiring interrogations and confessions to be videotaped. He’s the one who got Republicans, Democrats, the police and various other groups to agree on this. I think that says a lot for his ability as both a leader and a manager. (Examples of his bills in the U.S. Senate have been given by another poster, so I won’t repeat them.)
John - Why is Obama going ot be able to avoid and overcome partisan politics? The man is so far to the left. Come on.
Responsible2008 and others here: Social Security - will someone address what I said before about Obama’s promises and the hypocrisy of a youth vote for him? Pied Piper people, for sure.
Everyone keeps talking about someone who will “Bring us all together!” So who is going to cede their views? I want No abortions and you want abortions… who is going to bring US together… Obama? Clinton? Romney?….
You want amnesty for criminal illegal aliens and I will not stand for it… who will bring US together? McCain? Edwards!? Not quite.
Your rhetoric is as phony as the politicians (like John Kerry saying he had “hope” for a short time that Bush would bring the country together…. hahaha is there one person on this planet that actually believes that? liar.). Why dont we stop with all this phony nonsense and just try and talk about the issues. You try and convince people of your views and I will try and convince them of mine. Trust me, I have enough REAL reasons to support my views, I do not have to use phony phrases.
To The Truth, I am old enough to be a starter again. Thanks!
I will spend some time on the site. I don’t just read. I use my high IQ and life experience to analyze what people say and what people write. I don’t blindly believe or again what other say what they believe. That is why I am willing to start to read in the site you suggest. Can you explain to me the logo of the site which turns out is http://66.37.25.41/?
You sound very angry. I hope by making tme o read the site can make you feel good or feel you are powerful.
I listen to the wife of a car salesmen every time I want to buy a car.
She has the experience right?
Clinton did nothing that really prepared her for the job except figure out the White house layout.
Based on any speech I have heard I refuse to believe she has anything to offer other than overbearing misguided arrogance.
I could never vote for anyone so blatantly power hungry.
Still Undecided
Tom J - What “present” means is that Obama knows all about playing politics. He is part of an Illinois scene that is bent on playing games with each other, instead of getting together and calling it like it is - always. You see, you need to study other states and how they handle things. Not that way. Illinois and Chicago politics are unique in that fashion, all right, and have been for many decades - and Obama is part of it.
Comment by Iris Sweeney
What was Obama thinking, It sounds like he is living in a dream world with bright colors and rainbows. I think he needs a wake up call (hello). I agree with Hillary Clinton people should be held accountable and if house cleaning is needed so be it.
To the first poster: Calling names does not help to make your point.
As for managers, leaders and CEOs: I would direct your attention to the recent replacements of CEOs of several multinational corporations.
As for being a clear-headed individual: Kim are you suggesting those who do not agree with Hillary’s politics and proposed policies are not using their brains? One set of people is not any smarter, rational or clear-headed simply because they do not agree with another set of people’s opinions. And in politics, that is where the difference lies: In opinions.
I have heard from SOME voters who plan to vote for Hillary BECAUSE she is a woman and without reference to her politics or her proposed policies. Is that clear-headed? What brainpower is being exercised to decide to support someone based on gender (or skin color, eye color, hair color, what car the person drives, etc.) ? Such thinking is not only superficial, but degrading to men AND women. Since when has ability or merit been defined by gender?
I would hope that voters who support Hillary (or any other candidate for that matter) choose to vote for her because they agree with her politics and her proposed policies and truly believe she is the best candidate, for reasons unrelated to gender. Similarly, I would hope those who choose NOT to vote for Hillary (or any other candidate) have made this choice because they disagree with her politics and proposed policies, and not because of her gender.
Sounds like Hillary will be a hands on President just like Jimmy Carter. I loved what ole Jimmy Carter said before the election. And that is the last democrat for pres. that I have voted for. I am ready to change my ways this year and vote the other side, but not ole Hillary. At least she won’t be hand’s on like Bill….
I think “The Truth” may be actually Dick Cheney or Karl Rove in disguise. The republicans are up to their traditional dirty tricks again and look upon Hillary as a much easier nominee to defeat than the ever-growing popular Obama. Their voice is “The Truth” ingognito.
Middle - That’s a pretty wild link. Anyway, please understand, this is strictly fun. By poking about here, people get riled up and it’s great. You can’t take anything away from it, really. It is worth noting, however, that no one has taken me up on the SS thing and the deception of youth.
For The Truth:
I don’t think it’s that they’re all under 40. It’s that they’re either “diversity” or “HR” students.
Either way, many of these comments are liberal hogwash and way off the mark of what the American fabric is all about.
The Truth just deeply believes what he thinks, says, or writes are all truth. I don’t have to believe what he believes and the same token, I don’t want to attack him either. I respect he is so honest to believe himself so truthful to name himself ‘The Truth’. Now you can match my characters to one of the candidates.
Laura,
I’ll remember the name calling thing the next time a Democrat speaks.
But she does have really really thunderish thighs. Ever seen her in person? Not gonna work in her favor with other world leaders.
As HC says, we all know what happened the last time we elected a “leader” we most wanted to have a brew with. Gore was dumped because he was “impersonal”. I DO KNOW that, in this, the ages’ most uncertain hour, we CANNOT afford to have youth in power! Give me McCain before Obama.
Barack Obama is the most eloquent voice in American politics in the last 40 years. He has the vision and can inspire people to do the right thing, which Hillary couldn’t do. I just don’t trust her, and that’s very important for the president, when I have to trust my life and my children’s lives to the person in charge. Hillary has shown that she is willing to cheat and lie to win the nomination from a bunch of suckers.
To TVan
I am so with you. Let’s stick to the issues.
The Truth is a troll, ignore him.
Hey, “The Truth”, yes I am under 40, but I guarantee you that I am more educated than you and know more about political history than you. Unlike you, I am not using that to devalue your vote or opinion.
Stop pretending that our country’s youth is ignorant.
Obama? Well, I’ve seen so many smooth talkers like this cat. The bottom line is…
you can charm and smooth talk your way to a rock star status. The only question is
can he walk the walk? NOT! Just wait, IF Obama elected as Commander and Chief of the United States. You’ll all wish GW was back in the house again! *wink*
