Clinton Not Concerned About Michigan’s Anti-Hillary Black Vote
Senator Clinton thanked the people of Michigan for her victory in the Michigan primary yesterday — a slightly hollow one, since neither Barack Obama nor John Edwards were actually on the ballot.
On a conference call on economic issues with MI Gov Jennifer Granholm, Clinton said “I said repeatedly I will not turn my back on Michigan.” Calling herself a “strong partner” with the governor and the people of the state, she said “as president, I will do everything I can to help reverse the economic challenges Michigan has been coping with pretty much alone,” adding “I am personally humbled and grateful for the support I’ve received today.”
Clinton says she’s not concerned about the strong black vote against her in yesterday’s primary, saying “I am very committed to running a broad-based campaign reaching out to every community.” She added, “the support I showed in Michigan is very gratifying to me, but there’s a lot of hard work to be done.”
Edwards and Obama pulled their names from the Michigan ballot to signify their allegiance to the original early-voting states of New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada and South Carolina; Clinton staffers say such a move was unnecessary to honor an early state pledge signed by all the candidates, and that it needlessly disrespected the voters of Michigan.

That is sad. She’s not CONCERNED? Glad to see the black Vote meant so much…
It seems to me that if Senator Clinton is not concerned about the anti-Hillary Black votes in Michigan, then you should have included that quote. It appears that the headline is YOUR opinion otherwise. Give us the quote where she said that!
I would be interested in your response.

I think that if Barack was the trailblazer he pretends to be, he would have respected what Michigan was doing and kept his name on the ballot.
Instead, he chose to follow the herd.
Interesting.
There was no point in Obama and Edwards keeping their names on the ballot though. Michigan and Florida chose to break party rules by moving their primaries before February 5, knowing that they would be stripped of their delegates. As a result, Michigan and Florida are worthless in the Democratic primary and won’t have any influence on who becomes the Democratic nominee. Also, what makes the reporter of this article so sure that there was a anti-Hillary black vote? I think New Hampshire proved that polls are worthless.
Thanks to you OLGA,
And all newspapers get away with some B.S like this every day.
“WE DECIDE , YOU REPORT !!!!”
Knocking doors, urging, e-mailing others to vote uncommited isn’t a Kind of campaign? But ,the absence of their names was conspicuous

My family and friends have been following the 2008 Presidential election and feel overwhelming compelled to express our sadness, disgust and anger after witnessing the continued unfair disturbing treatment that Senator Clinton continually receives from men in the media. WE were frankly suprised to see how many man are threatened by Senator Clintons abilities, just read the articiles. The daily gender discrimination and horrible names Senator Clinton is called, forced my family and friends to research candidates like obama ourselves since the media is no longer fair and unbiased. A black man has a better chance in this country than a white woman. Its a shame that media keeps the race issue going in an attempt to disguise thier gender discrimination against smart educated and powerful women. WE are tired of the race card that the media ia creating and pushing in the face of voters. The media has dropped the ball. We the viewers and most importantly the VOTERS looked to news stations and newspapers for unbiased FACTS about ALL the presidential candidates to assist voters on making a wise and educated decision on who will run our country. Unfortunately you prove daily/hourly that your biased and often racial tabloid news It’s a disservice to our great country that you attack and discriminate a white female Senator and Former two term First lady who has done a great deal of good in 35 years of political service to our country that is dismissed and ignored for fear of upsetting a black candidate and his racial supporters. You should be ATLEAST reporting the differences and giving obama the same microscopic personal attacks that you continue to do to a white female United States Senator. You have no credibility in reporting the news. If we wanted this type of so-called news, we can buy the National Enquire. Women in this country should stand up and notbe bullied by these men who do all they can to keep women underpaid and treated unfairly.
Hillary leaving her name on the ballot shows me that she cares about every person of every state. It was not the populations fault that a few egotystical Democrats wanted to move up the primary date. And then those same Democrats were urging people to vote Uncommited.
Obama pulling these stunts with Michigan and Florida forces me to dislike him even more. He is basically saying .I don’t care about states that don’t help me beat Clinton. while Clinton is seeing it all through.
Clinton 08 Because she actually cares about the people
Obama and Edwards didn’t move the primary and gained nothing by supporting the decision of the DNC. Clinton flaunted that decision for her own benefit and this has nothing to do with her being a woman or “caring for every person”. Because she is a woman does not immunize her from justified criticism. Her claim to 35 years political experience is a farce. Give her the 8 years experience in the Senate which is her due. Eight years as first lady and as a governor’s wife does not qualify as “experience”. If that were the case, Barbara Bush should be running since she has “experience” as a congressional representative’s, ambassador’s, CIA Director’s, Vice-President’s and President’s wife. It’s also quite interesting that Clinton got only 55% of the vote when she had no opposition.
Only problem is Shillary, the current Gov IS the problem, but keep talking to the problem
She solicited economic advice from Governors Granhom (D-MI) and Corzine (D-NJ) - both states in recession and declining compared to the rest of the states.
This is an indication of the “smartest woman in the world” surrounding herself with experts.
See ya later, national defense, immigration, economy, health care (oops, been there done that already circa 1993).
I was not planning on voting for clinton, however a distorted article like this is making me lean towards it. WHERE DID SHE SAY SHE IS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THE BALCK VOTE?????
LIES LIES AND MORE LIES—
You fear her so much,,,that i may just vote for her!
I want to thank you too OLGA….i fell for the heading without thinking until i read your commentary. Amazing.
WHERE IS THERE ANY EVIDENCE OF AN ANTI-HILLARY BLACK VOTE? Fox sucks eggs.
I was actually scrolling down to comment on this, when I saw others noticed the same thing I did. The headline shows the typical Fox “News” bias, while the story doesn’t bother to clarify. Please show how Hillary’s comment that she is “very committed to running a broad-based campaign reaching out to every community” shows a lack of concern for the “Anti-Hillary Black Vote”. For that matter, please give some figures on exactly what that vote was? Were there exit polls conducted by Fox? Please enlighten us on what exactly constitutes an “Anti-Hillary Black Vote”.
Journalism at it’s worst. Aaron Bruns should be ashamed to have his name appear with this article.
I normally don’t see the world in Bushie Black/White terms. But there are a few things that I cannot bend on. This war was wrong months before it even started. Only the most mundane and fervent nationalists thought this war was just…and chicken hawk democrats who didn’t won’t to go against Bush’s high approval ratings. Clinton did just that. She proved in a heartbeat by voting for war that the lives of U.S. soldiers and innocent Iraqis were worth much less than the political points she would gain by being pro war. Furthermore and maybe even more importantly, her vote proves that she has anything but idealogical fortitude or a genuine respect for truth and honor. Although democrat, I won’t vote for her in a primary or the general election. I cannot. She is linked to an illegal war, and henceforth, murder of a sorts. She will do what it takes to assure her power for two terms, not for the benefit of us citizens, but for the benefit of her legacy. To me, this sounds a lot like we have already experienced for the last 7 years. Why would anyone want the same thing, just in a skirt with pearls this time around. To bad the historic occasion of a woman having a legitimate chance at making one of the most monumental leaps in U.S. cultural history is nothing more than a political schemer.
We are still in the age of a media that wants to play puppetmaster and control the electorate.
But in case you missed today’s The New York Times…which in the past has supported Bill…(and we could never mean o’really? on this one…)

“After watching the subject of race intrude on the primaries last week, and become even more prominent this week, we were relieved that Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama called a truce Tuesday night.”
“It was clearly her side that first stoked the race and gender issue. “
I admit this report should have atleast shown the figures of what it is talking about. In any case CNN has reported it as 68% of the black voting “uncommited” and only 30% for clinton according to exit polls. Check this link to confirm:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/16/nevada.caucuses/
Just read through the report and you’ll find the statistics.
Hillary is manipulative, and her bid for president is misguided. I think of her more as a man anyway, and she/he scares me. I didn’t like Bill Clinton either, the two of them are power hungry elitist Washington Bureaucratic scum. It has nothing to do with gender, it has everything to do with intentions. You don’t run for president under a false claim that you have experience if you don’t. That’s a lie. One of the Clinton’s more prominent traits is their ability to lie to the American people and get away with it. They are nothing but well respected, rich used car salesmen. They make you feel good and want what they have to offer. They even claim to be your friend, but make no mistake about it, they don’t care about you, they aren’t trying to help you out, this is all about them and what they want, and their selfish desires. Those who have a brain can see through people like them, they are everywhere with in our own community. They are the guy down the street trying to use up all the irrigation, the lady who thinks she can double park, the couple living in the Whitehouse that think they can take furniture when they leave, the man who can stand before the nation and lie under oath, and the woman who, with full knowledge of her husbands discretions with the ladies, can write a book for profit about her not knowing that her husband had done these things for years. I don’t even care that Bill Clinton engaged in those types of acts, I have no problem with that, I don’t even care that he lied, but for his wife to play ignorant even though it was common knowledge since Arkansas that he had this behavior, she writes a book lying to the American public that she had no knowledge and profits from it, while at the same time launching her presidential bid. What a manipulative ploy. I find the Clintons, not just her vile and disgusting, and not just because of what they done, but because of how dumb they must think the average American is. And if Hillary wins, which is looking like a good possibility, maybe Americans are that dumb.
As For The Comment By MEDIA AGAINST WOMEN
First of all, this commentary seems to have been written by a very articulate writer who just so happens to be able to recite the Clinton talking points very well, and who also seems to have purposefully dumbed down their commentary so it would come off as if it was written by someone who has a little bit of a spelling and/or grammar problem; to the degree that you just couldn’t believe it was written by a professional operative from - perhaps - the Clinton campaign.
The commentary starts out with a declaration that the speaker and ALL her family and friends (not just some) have ALL reached the exact same conclusion about how the campaign is being covered by the media; and, surprise, they all believe the same thing that Hillary, Bill, and Clinton campaign hacks have been saying to a ‘T’. The evil men of the media feel threatened, so those evil women-haters of the media are keeping the race issue going (it’s certainly not Hillary’s supporters like her husband, Cuomo, Bob Kerry, etc). And, no matter how many softball questions she gets tossed in debates, and no matter how many times her opponents are treated unfairly by the press, it’s Hillary that is a victim of press bias. Hillary’s operatives learned that one from the Republicans (the ‘liberal’ media hoax); and they’ve been hammering on that theme for a while. The commentary is one long screed against men, yet - in classic Clinton operative style - the writer says, “WE, are tired of the race card the media is creating and pushing in voters faces”.
It’s a disservice to our great country that you attack and discriminate a white female Senator and Former two term First lady who has done a great deal of good in 35 years of political service to our country that is dismissed and ignored for fear of upsetting a black candidate and his racial supporters.
I believe Hillary couldn’t have said it better! She feels her moment is being eclipsed and she is bitter that blacks are seeing through her and Bill after all she’s done for them (LOL). She’s now going to campaign almost exclusively in hispanic immigrant neighborhoods because she has to ride the hispanic vote to victory now that she revealed her true stripes to the black community.
The last line of the commentary reminds all the women of America about the evil men do, and how the women need to unite against the bullies. I guess the gender card is a good play as long as it’s done in a sneaky way by paid operatives that can’t be linked to the Clinton camp. Because afterall, Hillary would never say such a thing. I wonder how many people you can pay to blog with millions of dollars in contributions from Goldman Sachs (you know, the company that sold the Subprime SIV’s and bet against them at the same time).
I can’t wait for Obama and Clinton to get in an argument over who gets the most money from Goldman Sachs; seeing that GS (and it’s employees) are the top contributor of money to BOTH campaigns.
Of course she’s not concerned. She’ll just make sure that they’re either disenfranchised or in prison.
Is fox now going to reprimand aaron bruns? If I wrote a distorted, untrue titled document, I would be fired.
r we insane to vote for a HUSSEIN OBAMA–that is his middle name. He was educated as a muslim during his formative years in indonesia, a muslim country. WAKE UP

INTERESTING….BECAUSE THIS ARTICLE WAS ALL THE ABOVE AS TO HILLARY
Fox news must be very scared of Mrs. Clinton being president to have to make up all these leading and false (twisted or if you will “spin”) statements or headlines. I guess that intelligent and accomplished women are pretty scary to men who have achieved one third (or less) than Hillary. Actually, now that I think about it, you should be building her up and hoping that she wins since you make all of your money and “news” stories about bashing the Clintons. Just think of your lost revenue.!!!!

I agree your comment Chris Austin .
I think !!! Every candidator better put their name on ballot on every state to go through challences. Because of American believed and trusted him or hers to leading our Nation.
I am from Texas, and used to not be a clinton supporter. When W ran for president in 2000, I voted for him, and realize that was a big mistake. I notice everyone keeps on dogging Hillary saying that she doesnt have experience, however, I do think that you can count being a first lady to a governor and president as experience, and how long has obama been a senator versus Hillary. The biggest thing that people are not mentioning or forgetting is that while Bill was president, we had the best economy that we had had in years (Reagonomics didnt work to well), unemployment was at a low, and we werent regarded in other countries with such disgust as we are today. Do people not realize that Bill would play a role in decisions that Hillary made as president, and that truly is the experience that we need in office. One more think i know it is a pipe dream but Hillary president and Obama VP
I was impressed by the fact that the Clinton campaign didnt abandon the voters of michigan. Edwards and Obama did NOT have to take their name off the ballot.
I think they did because Clinton was so far ahead in the polls. Same as florida. There are 2 key states that would have gone to Clinton that are being ripped away . While it was fair to the democratic party, it was NOT fair to the Michigan and Florida voters, who had no say in any of this.
I encourage everyone to leave their real name. There is an atmosphere of FEAR that has been created by the Government. It makes law abiding people want to use coined names so they stay hidden. Of course sites many sites are monitored. We have to speak our truth.
No electronic voting machines. no big business donations. no multi million private sector jobs for 10 years after leaving office. completely transparent government. cheney is a boob. 9-11 was an inside job.
stay conscious
bring peace
Do you think for a minute that if Obama and Edwards thought she was not going to follow the rules set forth that they would have taken their names off the ballot? Come one, this is an important election, of course they would have had their names on it. The bottom line is that she can’t be trusted. When the Clintons are in the game so are dirty politics, always. Don’t take my word for it, look it up, check out all the campaigns these two have been in.
Do you not understand that she is telling you what you want to hear so she can get your vote? She will probably even buy you dinner. I live in Michigan, I know many people who want Obama to win, we didn’t vote because we thought our vote didn’t count and we certainly weren’t going to go out there and vote for the only one on the ballot. It is not fair. They should not be rewarded for breaking the rules and those who followed the rules get punished. If Hillary would have followed the rules, like everyone else did, we would not be in this mess.
How many people here know that Wyoming is 88% white, and who won that state? Iowa? And many others. Most people are not making this about race but about who is the best candidate.
Hillary and her campaign are out to divide..please do not let them win. Obama may not have as much experience ( and Hillary is lying about just what she has done exactly) but he has heart, strong desire and knowledge. He could pull off uniting our country again, bringing back our friends that we have treated so badly, bringing the people and government together and listening to what the people are saying. I think he has morals, values, and is a little more honest than the Clintons. Where they go, chaos and scandal follow. Bill has been pulled off the campaign trial more than once since this started, why?
