Giuliani opposes tapping personal cash for campaign
Pompano Beach, FL — Responding to more questions about the state of his campaign finances, Rudy Giuliani said Sunday that he has not contributed cash to his own presidential effort and is against using personal wealth to fund campaigns.
“I never have,” he told reporters on the press bus after a rally at his campaign office in Pompano Beach.
“I believe that the way you run for office is to raise money. You have got to raise money among people and you got to have their support in order to run.”
The campaign disclosed earlier this week that senior staffers have been asked to forgo their pay on a voluntary basis in order to save cash for their all-in effort in Florida. Giuliani said his campaign will have enough money to proceed with their Florida battle plan–since he began the new year with more than $7 million in cash on hand for the primary effort.
“We are in good shape, we really are. The reality is we have enough money to get through this,” he said. “We are going to be able to contest very strongly here in Florida. The people who (gave up pay) did that out of an excess of genorosity.”
Giuliani is not alone facing financial issues as fellow contenders Mike Huckabee, Fred Thompson and John McCain are all facing a fiscal crunch as the primary season continues into month number 12. Mitt Romney, who holds a fortune of more than $400 million dollars has already contributed more than $17 million to his effort as of the fall and has acknowledged the he contributed additional millions in late 2007, early 2008.

I have big problems with Rudy.
He is choosing the states he wants to represent.
The President is supposed to serve all the people.
IMO he should get out of the race.
I agree with Katie. And I love how he expects his campaign staff to go without pay, but he’s not willing to dip into his own coffers. They should suffer so he can stay in fancy hotels?
Hmmm Rudy needs power to feed his ego. A May 14, 2007 “New York Daily News” poll indicates that 56 percent of polled New Yorkers believe that Bloomberg has done a better job as mayor, and that 29 percent believed that Giuliani had been a better mayor.[130] 46% of those polled also indicated they would choose Bloomberg over Giuliani as President; Giuliani received the support of only 29% of New Yorkers.
On December 24, 2001,[113] Time magazine named Giuliani its Person of the Year for 2001.[3] Time observed that, prior to 9/11, the public image of Giuliani had been that of a rigid, self-righteous, ambitious politician.

Stuff in there to ask about. Such as why he appointed people to top positions that were unqualified, over 3 of these friends of his were arrested tried and convicted of major crimes, His estrangement from his Children, his liberal views on prochoice the list is long and there are many issues with him read the wiki link and The local bus transit unit in NYC here is a link here http://youtube.com/watch?v=zT-ouQPgMmI
http://therealrudy.org... < This is a great link watch the command center video. Unbelievable Rudy lies over and over again blaming others that prove otherwise with memos and documents.
The denial by the Mayor in help for the NYCFD and NYCPD… Rudy did Restrict the claims to 350M. 2 years after rudy was no longer mayor it was increased to 1 billion in lawsuit insurance policy for help to sick firemen and policeman and dead firemen and policemans families lawsuits.
Remember Rudy thinks 9/11 happened because we have freedom of religion and our women have freedom and rights!

I STILL DON’T GET IT, WHERE DOES HE GET LARGE SCALE EXPERIENCE TO BE THE PRESIDENT. GIULIANI BEING PRESIDENT, NOW THAT IS FAIRY TALE, NOT OBAMA. YA HEAR ME CLINTON.
Rudy is a phony. Rudy is against using personal wealth to fund his campaign because he is jealous that Mitt can. Mitt did not earn his money sueing others. He earned it in the business sector. He did not except the income he would have received as being Govenor. Can Rudy say that. Actually he uses others tax money to go on trips with his then Mistress to the Hamptons. I guess he feels adultery is a good reason to use hard earned tax dollars. Second, Mitt just earned 5 million in one day at a campaign fundraiser in Massachusetts. Sounds like he is not doing to bad receiving funds from others who support his campaign. Why doesn’t Rudy to the same in New York
Rudy is a dangerous republican candidates. In the general election he would not have the core support of the republican party. Maybe not everywhere, but where I live republicans are republicans because of the pro-life issue and second amendment rights (the two issues Giuliani is liberal on).
As a republican, Bush barely won the last presidential election, how does Rudy expect to pull off a win without the help of influential republican organizations like the NRA and NRL? This guy would sink like a rock. The exit polls from the 2004 presidential election said that “values” were the most important voter issue. Take that enthusiasm away from a republican candidate and he is toast.
Rudy is a liberal but is better than Huckabee.
Would you all p l e a s e give Rudy a short break?
He adds to the political discussion. Let him run. If he is a phony most Republicans will say so at the ballot box or in state caucuses. If he is unqualified: ditto. He should have no pressure to spend his own money just because Romney has decided to spend his. I am suspect of ‘colonists’ who jump in to politics of personal destruction on FOX Comments. Whataboutit?
A truly vile creature amongst an already less than human bunch. Is he in season?
Rudy Giuliani is a political chimera, a champion of cronyism, adultery, 9-11 one-liner and a phony patriot. What can he offer beside the worst of any politician?
Funny hearing that rudy would rather have his staff work with NO Pay; then tap into his own personal millions. Then of course, there is NO mention of Dr. Ron Paul who only has raised almost $20 Million in Donations from average working people in increments of $50-$100 per donor.
VOTE RON PAUL 2008!
