Rudy pulls Michigan staff
Rudy Giuliani has pulled all of its staffers out of Michigan as he goes all-in in Florida, campaign aides tell Fox. The Wolverine State’s Jan. 15 primary is turning into three-man battle between Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney and John McCain.
Giuliani was competitive in Michigan until the early summer according to the polls, but has campaigned very little in the state and now lingers in fourth place.

Michigan GOP Director Saul Anuzis was on hand for Giuliani’s primary night party Tuesday in Manchester, NH where he told me that he believes Hizzoner could have been “very competitive” in his state. (video above)

C’mon Ron Paul supporters! If Paul can get a 2nd or 3rd place finish, that’ll give him some momentum going into Nevada and South Carolina!
This means that Ron Paul, who is anti-NAU, can score 4th place in Michigan.
I love watching the other 5 contenders beat each other up. This means that there will be a brokered convention.
Rudy will only get about 200 delegates going into the convention where more than 1000 are needed to win.
He can only win the nomination if McCain, who will have about 400 delegates, agrees to support Rudy instead of the other way around.
But both McCain and Rudy only do well in the Blue States (NH is now a blue state after 4 more years of Boston yuppies moving there).
So the nomination is going to have to go to someone with a lot of delegates who wins in the Red States.
The leader in September might be Huckabee who can beat Paul for the south. Romney who can beat Paul in the west will have less delegates than Huckabee in September.
So the brokering should be interesting.
A lot will depend, therefore, on how everyone campaigned from March to September in all 50 states!
That will help the best funded candidate.
Oh and by the way, Ron Paul supporters will not support Huckabee or Romney for the nomination unless one of those two drastically switches to an individual freedom message.
With maybe 10% of the Republican electorate on their side (Democrats did not vote for Ron Paul in New Hampshire or Iowa because they were busy with the Obama/Clinton fight), Ron Paul supporters will be the power brokers.
This will require Huck and Romney to lace every speach with the word “Constitution.”
This, for example, will require Huckabee or Romney to say they do not want adult pornography regulated on the Internet (as opposed to child porn).
This will require, for example, for one of those candidates to say they don’t assume every American male is a sex offender until proven otherwise, which means they are against Internet regulation, etc.
Check out the website at http://www.mensnewsdaily.com to see a whole host of civil rights issues that the Bush Administration is tormenting its own conservative base with.
When Ron Paul has secured 10% of Republicans, he will take control of the Republican message.
