Romney Predicts Win in Michigan
Boston, MA–
Governor Romney is holding a National Call Day today much like he did last January where he made a record breaking 6.5 million dollars in cash and pledges. This year, the campaign says they have set no fundraising goals so they have no estimates yet on how much they might reel in. The governor even made one of the calls himself telling the person on the other end that he wished he had won the gold in New Hampshire, but he won the silver–using the Olympic metaphors he loves. The presidential hopeful addressed a crowd of about 500 people who made their own way here to raise money for him.
Romney predicted winning Michigan at least 3 times during the speech. Joined by Ann, he was much more buttoned down than usual wearing a sport coat and no tie and spoke mostly “off stump” to this crowd of close supporters about his confidence in taking his home state of Michigan:
“I know the state and I know the cities, I know the people and I care about the people here and I will use my experience and my associations in Michigan to make sure that is a state that knows I care about them personally. “
The former Massachusetts governor says he is going to win Michigan because he can fix the recession they are experiencing:
“When Michigan is hurting it is a precursor to what can happen in the entire country. If our manufacturing base is getting threatened there, it is threatened everywhere. And so for me it is not just one state that I hope does well for me, it is a state that has to do well. Michigan is a state going through a one state recession.”
In a press conference after his speech, Romney wouldn’t consider the option that Michigan is a must-win, instead focusing on his ability to take it:
“You know, there’s so many rules about what you have to do and what you must win that have been broken already that I’m not willing to make that characterization. I can tell you, I’m going to win Michigan, and so I’m not sure whether I must win it, but I will win it.”

As Romney walked out he quipped, “On to Michigan!” He will be campaigning in Grand Rapids later today before traveling to South Carolina for the Fox News Debate.

I trust Romney. I see from his tenure in MA he is a man of his word. I see he is kind from his donation of his entire salary as gov and from the olympics. He left Ma with a 1 billion dollar rainy day fund. He never raised taxes in MA but he did ensure that the tax loopholes big business was using as a blanket were closed. He is the only person to get all of the citizens private ins with old money…he didnt use one dime of new money to do this and the purchase price for the insurance was cut in half. I beleive he can fix the lurking collapse of our swagering economy. With the trillions spent on the war, the housing market, the value of the dollar plumiting, and foreign countries being key holders in the stock market———we are in serious trouble if we do not elect a fiscal expert on how to deal & solve this, a person who understands and has ACTUALLY USED trade and business, a person who knows how jobs come and go, etc. I know that man is mitt romney. JohN McCain is another wicked politician looking to bosst his career- he is not in it for the people.
Mitt Romney is the only guy to have more votes in his party. If you put all Iowa, Wyoming, and New Hampshire together, Mitt won it all. Period!
Well, Try Bone-ing up on History and what happen’s then! or Next?
This isn’t “Sir Laurance” of “Arabia’s”, “Raid” in the gulf of Aqaba!
this is “IRANIAN AGRESSION!” against the U.S NAVY! IN INTERNATIONAL WATER’S! ;
Not some, made up story! And Armming of the Militant Malitia’s in Iraq and the west bank
IE: Hez-Bull-al! al-qai-da! and the palistinian militant’s too, through Jordan ,
to smuggle through to Iraq! ” Now they have a Strategic Choke Point in the Gulf of Hormuz too!”
So if you get my Point here’s something else to think about:
This is a little history from the “LOST STATE OF FRANKLIN!”
1. OK? Are we really “OK!” with the status quo?
Well my take from “The Lost State of Franklin!” is;
Let’s See……..hmmmmm, I’m still thinking about it!
The Green Mountain Boy’s went over the Ridge to put the Ka-Bosh! On the Red Coat’s, then
We ”OLD DAVEY, Travis AND a BUNCH OF THE GUY’S!” all singed up, Stood their Ground,
To do the Mexican “Hat” dance at “The Alamo!”
Now in the News’s: Maybe some of those, Good Ole-Boy’s are down on the Boarder, working
For, the Drug Cartel’s and the “Re-Con-quista-Door-OH!’S” with the same result’s!
Big shoot-hem, Up! Hey, Don’t Worry…”Be” Happy-day’s, are “A-hem, Hillary again?”
SO; from my perspective, to get back on track! OK. Then went down to Texas,
Again, to Run, “Poncho-Via!” To: Ground? Well we know how that worked out too!
So, anyway, Good Ole Ben Franklin, went to France, then got some news’s about a “little”
General named Nit-Poll-Elian, or something! Meanwhile back at the “Palace”,
”King Louie” and His “WIFE” says; “Let them Eat Cake?”
“HILLARY _ U.S.!”
Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, from “THE AGE OF REASON!” And the “New-World-Gore-Duh” Back
In, the cheap seats! What say, You?
We “ALL” Know how “That”; turned out!
So, back to business as Usual!
Moving ahead …. We get the War to End All War’s, same old story, then another Nit-Wit, has a brain storm,
Or maybe just Dyslexia, invents the Storm Troop-er, Gestalt! Mien-Got, IN HIMMLE-er Too!
And Across the “OTHER” POND! TOJO wants to Fry up some Kansas Beef, Tired of all that rice.
OK, now they are Nice, But Dec 1941? KAMAKAZI! BON-ZIE! And DIE!
Flash forward, some, and the Flying Tiger’s, Did their thing, and China too. BUT, on the Burma Road, stumble,
But we’ll come to that bridge, Later, and today there is “PEACE” in that nabob, r-HOOD?
Moving right along! Then, in THE FAR EAST! KOREA! 1950 We have a problem with, “OH”, THEY,
“Have a problem” with, “THE CHINESE!”, So WE SEND IN: IKE AND Macarthur!” and a host of Other’s.
Not far along Again, There is a little problem in, THE FRENCH-Foreign Legion!
“So, we send in some Advisor’s and You Know How that little GULF TONKA – dud! Out!
So, let’s review, something. How about our response to the anti-War Left?
(Hey We Didn’t Start It!)
Anyway, well get this Big Wall built up, History there too!
Remember the BIRLIN AIR LIFT! And our “NOW” ahem, Good friends, the Russian’s?
Hey, Let’s “GIVE CREDIT” WHERE, “IT”S DUE!”
Let’s “NOT”, “MARX” around and “STALL-IN!”: ( The) ,” BUSH’S!”
“Reagan and then Gore-Bach-off.” Well YALT-A!” AND then; “DIVY-UP?” THE, REST!
So am I making the point so far? “WELL I LIKE A GOOD MOVIE!”
Anyone See HARRY’S WAR YET? No Not Truman!
The one for “Afghanistan, and the Mu-Ja-HA-ding’-eh!” And, the “Congressman and the socialite?”
NO – “NOT” RAMBO! And The “LAST WARRIOR!” Nor ; the “LAST”- Emperor!” Either!
Love It, a Good Script too.
Unfortunately, We Know Where that Led! “OH!”—“SAY!”_, “CAN YOU SAY?” :
(BIN _LOUD_IN?) And just, a couple, “little”-ole’-“AIRPLANE”S?”
So we get the pot “ALL” stirred up!
IRAQ! Now IRAN; AND ALL that the;”PUD-Nit’s”, want to talk “About,” Is;
How aggressive the Gulf is getting? How it’s “ALL OUR FAULT?”
WELL LET”S CONCENTRATE! On, the “Me”-DIA’S FRENZY,
(over) “ SPEAR”S AND HILLARY’S, MELT-DOWN!”
Or, that is; “ALMOST MELT-DOWN? “ Anyway I Digress, I GUESS!
“SO, I’m “ROOTIN FOR THE GREEN MOUNTAIN BOY”
FROM: THE “LOST STATE OF FRANKLIN!”
GIVE EM HELL FRED! …………RUN SOUTH CAROLINA LIKE YOU MEAN IT!
Should we interpret Gov. Romney’s prediction like his others? His gonna win 2nd place, the silver medal… you get it. It’s over buddy, hang it up.
Anyone who will fight the IRS on behalf on the American people, KNOWING they will audit him to death for the rest of his life….has MY VOTE 100%.
THE IRS IS ORGINIZED CRIME!!!!!! TAKE A BITE OUT OF IRS CRIME MIKE!!!!
Go to http://www.FairTax.org and read about it. It will repeal the 16 amendment and make the poor and middle class richer!!!!
Don’t let the elite and the tax lobbyist tell you it’s a bad idea. They will DO ANYTHING to stop the FairTax. The Tax lobbyists already have TV/radio ads out against Mike and telling people to reject him because they are SHAKING IN THEIR BOOTS!!!!
I’m SICK of the IRS stealing my money before I get a chance to touch it. I’ll take a high sales tax, THEN I CAN DECIDE if I want to pay my light bill or the tax lobbyist.
STOP THE IRS FROM RAPING US….VOTE MIKE!!!!!!
DB: I’ve heard some poor excuses for supporting Huckabee, but you just won the prize!
You’re supporting Mikey because he’s risking being audited because that’s how the IRS mafia “knee-caps” fair-tax supporters.
Here’s a little secret: Yes, the IRS sucks, but they’re not after your candidate.
Everybody knows that no president is going to actually get us off the income tax system. I agree that it sucks, but Mikey is just pandering to you.
If your Republican and conservative, how can you even consider Romney. He is NOT conservative. Take a look at some of his political backers out of Oakland County like Marc Shulman.
Take another look. He is nothing more than a suit with some really expensive hair spray!
romney is consistent, finished 1,2,2 . everyone else 1,3 and they are considered as going all the way yet romney is ” all but finished’ sounds like the all the way crowd is scared of romney and i agree that their path would be easier if the front runner gets out of the way only three states have spoken lets see what at least 20 of the 50 states have to say before we throw in the towel keep going mitt
on a side note if we all jump on the hillary bandwagon will that make the tires go flat
only in america
Ha JOKE! I think any candidate that spent over 65 million should finish rather high…don’t you? Just look at his republican Michigan ties…liberal! Big business is no different than big government!
Wondering if the next republican debate will be centered around Romney. Pity FOX News is force feeding us Romney. Would be great if each guy had same time alloted and we learned about all of em.
The nice thing about blogs even though foxnews never posts mine is that I can take out my frustrations regarding the political process. Back a long time ago people of revolutionary thought were labeled crazy. The majority of society showed their disapproval and in many cases their work went unrewarded. However those of us who take a stand may be seen as nuts by present day standards, but historians might view it as a look into the future. If only we had listened to some of the voices and we would have advanced technologically and socially so much sooner. Ron Paul talks about the demise of our country because government is simply getting too big. I don’t know if I would vote for him but I think we should listen.
I trust Romney for the economy, family values, personal integrity, and strength. The democrats know he presents their toughest challenge; therefore, the liberal media is very anti-Romney. With so much power invested in the media today, Romney may not get a fair shake. Too bad. It will be our nation’s loss!
Seems like every article headlining Romney on Fox News has a negative twist on it. Every positive article features McCain or Huckabee.
Fair and Balanced? Take a look at the headliners and you’ll know I am presenting the truth. Take a look at the political propagandist Carl Cameron’s area… Huckaboom, Hucka….blah, blah, blah…
Maybe it has something to do with Dick Morris, the Fox News political analyst, who was Huckabee’s campaign manager for Huckabee’s run for Arkansas Governor. Yes, the same Dick Morris who masterminded the Clinton campaigns. Interesting that Dick Morris is responsible for the Arkansas Clinton’s and the Arkansas Huckabee. Strange combination… or is it?
“Dick Morris, who had previously worked for Bill Clinton, advised Huckabee on his race in 1993, and again in 1994 when Huckabee ran for re-election. Huckabee commented that Morris was a “personal friend”. A newspaper article reported on Huckabee’s 1993 win: “Morris said the mistake Republicans always make is that they are too much of a country club set. What we wanted to do was run a progressive campaign that would appeal to all Arkansans.’” Morris elaborated, “So we opened the campaign with ads that characterized Mike as more of a moderate whose values were the same as those of other Arkansans.””
Interesting that Dick Morris recreated Huckabee as a “progressive that would appeal” to all Arkansans and as a “moderate whose values were the same as those of other Arkansans.”
And the media casts Romney as “plastic” and “fake”????
Does something sound fishy here ???
Romney will win…he’s a man of his word…he completes with his promises…every single one. He is an analytical genius, a fiscal policy master, a man of integrity and a family man who is very selfless. He is the only candidate that even resembles a future President.
Go ROMNEY!
Mitt is the only person running on either ticket who has created thousands of jobs.
Mitt is the only person running on either ticket who has SAVED thousands of jobs.
Look at the economic headlines, look at the price of oil, the dollar, the housing market…
We need a real executive who has done real things in the real world.
Mitt is that person.
Mitt is presidential.
I will vote for the guy who has hired me at every job I have ever had. Mitt understands what is needed to create the environment for a culture of innovation here in America.
When I asked Huck (here in Bellevue, WA a few weeks ago during a little fifteen-minute discussion we had) what his economic plan is, he told me to go look at a white paper on his website. Huh? I asked Mitt the same thing (at an event at Microsoft) and he went into extreme detail, outlining issues, problems and strategies. Not some general (we need to compete with China…) platitude, but real solutions.
Mitt know real solutions, has been successful in private and public life and will be an extremely successful president.
Mitt is presidential, he is not a court jester.
It is unbelievable the amount of coverage that both Iowa and New Hampshire have received, when WYOMING HAS MORE DELEGATES THAN NEW HAMPSHIRE in the the GOP contest, and IT BARELY GETS MENTIONED.
I’ll admit to caring more about this because I am a strong Romney supporter, and would be OK if someone were to try to make the case that a primary has more impact than a caucus/convention — but then the media was all in Iowa.
This blatant bias against Romney is incredible. The guy has more votes than any other Republican, and more delegates. 1 GOLD, 2 SILVERS — a much better track record than anyone else to-date — AND the only one that can beat Hillary or Obama.

It’s been reported that Mitt Romney brought in over 5 MILLION DOLLARS TODAY, Jan. 9th, in Boston with fund raisers and supporters rallying behind him. I know I did. Even McCain’s home state of Arizona donated around $146,000.00 to Romney’s campaign. There must be some substance behind all that support—hmmmm, maybe it’s because Mitt has an unbeatable resume and platform that is comprehensive, intelligent and not just 1″ deep like McCain and Huckabee’s.
Do you know why McCain and Huckabee can’t illicit that kind of support? It’s because McCain’s support comes from Democrats/Indi’s who vote against Romney. Voters aren’t impassioned for a candidate that will be a lame duck president (80 years old in his second term!!). Huckabee has Evangelical pastors compelling their congregations to vote with their religion, and not with their heads. Scary, very scary…..
If Mitt doesn’t win the Demo/Indie’s vote in Michigan next week—it won’t concern me at all. With the kind of support (and true conservative platform) like he received today….Mitt can outlast Huckabee and McCain to the end..
Go to a TRUE CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN WEBSITE - rushlimbaugh.com and see what he says about liberal candidates McCain and Huckabee and the state of the race. It’s just beginning…..
Mitt Romney is the only candidate who will bring change in washington. He will bring change in various areas: The main area will be in the economy.
1. Keeping jobs in America.
2. Illegal Immigration
3. Education
4. Taxes, keeping lower taxes. (Everybody has to pay some taxes, this is why America is a vibrant country.
5. Keeping a strong military. Stong on defense.
Ask McCain and Huckabee questions on illegal immigration and taxes and they give you cutsey answer and avoid answering the question.
I also trust Romney for his views on the economy, family values, personal integrity, and strength. He is a leader. Thus far he has won the popular vote, leads in delegates, and with 1 Gold and 2 Silvers- leads all candidates. He is the man.
We support you overseas. You will win Michigan and you will be the next President of the United States of American.
McCain came 3rd in Iowa and 3rd in Wyoming. Huckabee came distant 3rd in Wyoming and distant 3rd in New Hampshire. Those two would find a way to come third in the national election. Anyone but Mitt and you’re voting Democrat. Think about it. Clinton or Mitt, make your choice.
My name is Mike Huckabee, and I disapprove this message.
GOP 2008 Winter Games Current medal count:
Mitt: 1 gold, 2 silvers (and the current popular vote and delegate lead)
Huckabee: 2 gold, 1 bronze
McCain: 1 gold
Mitt has the experience and maturity to lead this country and to assure that our economy isn’t thrown into the dumpster by “give the people what they want” politicians like Huckabee. And sorry I just can’t imagine McCain as president. It’s one thing to talk straight and another thing to think straight. I also honestly don’t think he’ll be able to keep up the pace (he’ll be 72 by election day, older than Reagan was, and John, you’re no Ronald Reagan).
Thank goodness I finally see some support on this blog for THE ONLY viable republican candidate, MITT ROMNEY! I agree with others regarding the bias reporting. And also the comments about Dick Morris, an obvious Huckabee supporter. I don’t understand why Fox thinks we need to hear political opinions from a good friend of Huckabees. Please Fox, we only need to hear facts, like how many delegates each candidate has. After all, it is the delegate count that is the only thing that matters in the end, not the opinion of your guests.
I really hope that anyone supporting Huckabee or McCain will go through the trouble of looking up their records. They are far from conservative!
DB,
I hope you’re not really falling for that Fair Tax garbage the Huckster is spewing. He knows he can’t do it, no President can. Especially, as long as the DEMs are in charge of the hill nothing is going to change at the IRS. Except maybe Hilary or Obama will invent new and better ways to fleece us.
Even if we switch to the Fair or Flat tax, the IRS will never go away. Their targets will shift a little but, sorry they, in some form, are here to stay dude, get over it.
Mike knows he can’t do it but he also knows that it is an easy out for him. If he were to be elected, some time around his 2nd State of the Union address, he’ll waltz out crying and moaning, and say something like: “oh, if I only had the support of the Democrats in congress, your president has gone to bat for you, I struggled, I prayed and I tried to cross the aisle but without there support it can’t be done. Oh, by the way, we got that pesky election coming up in a couple of years. If you’ll put a little more in the collection plate today, I might stick around for another four years”.
I don’t know which is worse, Mike Huckabee’s media savvy genius or his followers stupidity. If you knew how our Gov’t worked you might understand that he is feeding you a line of BULL.
It’s refreshing to see so many positive comments re: Gov Romney. He is truly the class act in this election, and will go all the way. I am truly disillusioned with the coverage by Carl Cameron, and he should be reassigned. He is too personally involved with some of the candidates, ie Huckabee. especially. A video has been showing re: the bias of NBC coverage of Obama, and I’m sure Carl could match them. Also some of the headlines have been way out of line on Carl’s blog. It is not too difficult swaying opinions with subtle negative headlines or comments. Carl, give it up…
Go Mitt!
Ok, I don’t know how everyone is missing this.
There is one Romney character trait that we’ve been overlooking. Everyone loves them, all the media is gaga over them. But know one to my knowledge has ever linked them.
Any parent who can raise 5 boys in our country and still have the unrestricted support of every one of them has got to have something going on. No other candidate is getting the kine of support from their children Mitt is. Sure most of them have Children, but Chelsey is the only one you see and they rarely allow here to speak. Nope, Mitt’s kids are flying all over this country in support of their Dad. Anyone who can garner that kind of support from each and every one of their children is the person we need as AMERICA’S DAD! ™.
I live in Canada. I used to live in the U.K. From an outsider’s viewpoint, Romney is the most qualified of all the candidates. Having Romney as your president would make other countries respect you more. If you aren’t going to go socialist, then get Romney elected. He is the only one that can make your country great without having to go socialist like Europe and Canada. We laugh at Huckabee and think that it would be progressive to have the first black or woman as president. Obviously, I am not saying that people should vote for Obama or Hillary just for this reason alone. I studied political science at the University of Ottawa and got to know many Canadian politicians. I loved Romney’s speech. It was so American and Romney seems like a big defender of the American Constitution. You need someone with great qualifications and brains if you want to continue to be a world power because times are changing. Huckabee would be the worst thing for America. Other countries would respect any candidate I have seen over him, democrats and republicans.
Mitt Romney made his millions buying companies laying off people and selling the company for millions more, if he becomes President is he going to lay the country off and sell the USA out to the highest bidder. How many times does Romney have to lie before you don’t trust him.
Mitt is the most prepared and competent candidate in the race. Go Mitt, you’ve got our donation.
I also live in Canada, and have been watching your election coverage daily, and with incredible interest. I feel like I’m watching the Stanley Cup playoffs, it’s seriously that exciting for me. Whoever the next US president is will affect much here in Canada. And I have to say, I just don’t get how anyone can cast their vote for anyone but Romney. I’m consevative yes, but seriously, Hillary? After Bill’s baloney? I respect Obama enough, but let’s let the good guys win:) Romney is the guy who could help fix your economy, has decent moral values, and has shown that he can get things done, Olympics, health care for Massachusetts, the list goes on and on. I constantly hear people trying to brand him as a flip flopper - as far as I can tell, the only one worth mentioning is abortion, and he ended up going to the good side of that one, so why complain? What, like nobody has ever changed their mind as they got older and wiser?
Mike Huchabee scares the living crap out of me. If ever there was a guy I don’t trust, he’s the one. He may have a little charisma, but I just don’t see any substance behind it. A man of character I just don’t see. These constant religious barbs have no place in politics. I see in almost every story about Romney - 99% of which have headlines such as “Romney should pack it in” type of things (Clearly, the liberal media just don’t want him as the candidate) attacks on his being Mormon. Mormons are about as devoted to God as you’re ever going to see - they don’t drink coffee, tea, booze, they don’t smoke, they don’t do premarital sex or even swear much (at least they’re not supposed to) and dozens of other things that they adhere to because they feel that these things are displeasing to God. So he has a different take on the Trinity, big deal. So many religions disagree on certain points, is it really that big of a problem that he has a slightly different point of view on something that really makes no difference in dealing with Iraq, the economy, or health care, or really anything poitical. Strong moral convictions, with, like as has been mentioned, strong committment to family. You want a guy who will be steadfast and constant, there’s your guy, and not just because he’s Mormon.
McCain, I respect his service to his country and all, but I just don’t think he’s the guy to lead right now. All he really has to offer is military, as far as I can tell, and according to the exit polls, the economy is what’s on everybody’s #1 list. I just don’t get New Hampshire, they say they want the economy fixed, they say they know that Romney’s the guy to do it, according to the CNN exit polls, and then they vote for McCain because they like him better. So let’s vote for the guy who we want to be buddies with, instead of the guy who can fix the problem we need fixed - I just don’t get it.
I think Ron Paul has some interesting ideas, but I don’t think the majority of the people are going to go for it. Forgive me for saying so, I’m sure I’ll be beaten on and all for saying this, but in the end, I mean the real end game of the primaries is to pick a guy who can beat whoever the Democrats throw at you, isn’t it? Ron Paul can’t do it, I feel bad for the guy, becuase I do think he has some interesting perspectives on a few points, but he can’t beat Obama or Hillary, too many people think he’s not viable, and it shows in the votes. Fred Thompson I really want to like, but he doesn’t appear to have any steam in him. Giuliani has too many skeletons in the closet. Romney as far as I can tell doesn’t have any. Supposed flipping? That’s the best you’ve got? Didn’t McCain change his views on stuff between the summer and now? Romney has a better delegate count right now, and I was genuinely saddened to see that he didn’t get his gold in Iowa or NH. That he did win gold in Wyoming (Which has a higher delegate count than NH) isn’t even mentioned, like it didn’t matter. I think the media is trying to kill of Romney’s campaign, and it’s a darn shame. I hope the voters in Michigan, where his dad did some great things, will be in his corner. I mean, if you’re trying to pick a guy who can beat the Democrats after 8 years of Bush (and I actually like Bush, but do realize that much of America does not) then to vote for someone who could never do it (Huckabee, McCain, Paul, Thompson and in my opinion, even Rudy, although I’m sure he’ll take New York from the Democrats given the chance) isn’t it kind of wasting your vote? Don’t vote for the guy you “like”, vote for the guy who can actually do the job you’re voting him to be in position for! (Unless of course you “like” Romney, then by all means go for it…I look at him and I see a guy who can get the job done, no matter what the job entails. He is a proven fix it guy.)
I know I’m just a Canadian with not enough to do except check the polls three times a day to see how Mitt’s doing, but I really hope that the super Tuesday swings towards Mitt. I am afraid SC is going to Huchabee, because of the evangelical vote, but hopefully Michigan goes to Romney and has him going into Feb. with the lead in delegate votes.
Plus, I happen to think Stephen Harper, our PM (another guy who does what he says - said he’d shave two points off the national sales tax inside of a year, and he did it, among dozens of other things) and Romney would get some great things done for North America. Mitt, don’t you listen to the media or the people who for whatever reason are pushing for McCain and Huckabee - you’re the only person I want to see leading the US - I lived there for a couple of years, and it really is a great country, and it would be even greater with you at the helm. Go Mitt Go!
Sorry, I misspelled Huckabee, it wasn’t intentional, purely a typo, I’m not into name calling and it wasn’t meant as a slight…
Mitt Romney represents empty rhetoric and business as usual. His only interest in the working man is to hustle up votes for his election. Come on Michigan! The rest of the country is waiting for you to lead the way for true national reform (FAIR TAX)!!A vote for Mitt is a vote for the status quo! Think outside the box. Vote for Mike Huckabee and let’s rebuild Michigan and then the rest of the country as well! We are counting on you!!!!!VOTE HUCKABEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have listed very carefully to all the presidential debates. Mitt Romney has them all beat. You can have the cutesie quips from Huckabee–he has nothing else much to say. McCain? I live in Arizona and will be more than surprised if he even does decently in the polls here. Let’s say McCain did make the GOP nomination, he could serve for only one term even if he did a good job. Ronald Reagan was younger and got Alzheimer’s during his second term. Being president is a very rigorous job, one better left to a younger guy.
Mitt Romney has proven he is a get-it-done guy. And he has his priorities where they should be–he has lots of money and it hasn’t affected him at all. He served as governor of Massachusetts for NO pay. Who else has done that?
I am impressed the way Mitt Romney’s family are all involved in his campaign. What other candidate enjoys this kind of solidarity?
Let’s rally around Mitt Romney! GO MITT GO!!
Mitt Romney is the man for the job. Lets face facts Mitt Romney is the most educated and has the most alaround experiance out of all the candidates. If people look at the experience of the candidates and there educational background you will see that Romney is the best. Mitt Romney Has a MBA and a Law degree from HARVORD AT THE SAME TIME. Mike Huchabee has a bachelor’s degree in Religion and two HONARY PHD’s. John McCain finished 5TH FROM THE BOTTOM of his class at the Naval academy. That means all of you that want a person that has a understanding in economics running the government should vote Mitt Romney.
John McCain is NOT A REPUBLICAN he calls him self one but he is far from it. From listing to him speak he apparently knows nothing about economics, his thoughts on the military and what needs to happen in Iraq shows that he apparently knows very littlie of doctrine, policy and tactics of the modern military.
Mike Huckabee is a religious bigot. What he has said about the Mormon faith is despicable. The trials and tribulations that the Mormon church has had to endure over the last 150 years shows how much our country does not have religious tolerance. And it is because of people like Mike Huchabee that know nothing of the Mormon faith that people are making a big deal of one runing for president. The Mormons are a good a descent people the 2002 Olympics showed the world that. Mitt Romney is one of the best examples of his faith and is a good and honorable man. If John McCain or Mike Huckabee receives the nomination I will be ashamed to call my self a Republican and so should the rest of the GOP.
Guys,
I am for Romney from the first day!!!
Much more I see him more love him. So my mom and mu husband.
What has happened to Fox News? Where is O’Reily? Hannity?
Ann Coulter?
What Rush is doing? Just that little bit against Huck and Mac?
He should fight for people who he beleives in. Not just stay aside.
GO REAL REPABLICANS! GO AMERICA? WHAT has happened to you?
(sorry my English, it is my 2 or even 3 language:)
MITT ROMNEY!!!!
[...] White House 08 By edsistrunk Governor Romney is holding a National Call Day today much like he did last January where me made a record breaking 6.5 million dollars in cash and pledges. Joined by Ann, he was much more buttoned down than usual wearing a sport coat and no tie and spoke mostly “off stump” to this crowd of close supporters about his confidence in taking his home state of Michigan: “I know the state and I know the cities, I know the people and I care about the people here and I will use my experience and my associations in Michigan to make sure that is a state that knows I care about them personally. “ The former Massachusetts governor says he is going to win Michigan because he can fix the recession they are experiencing: “When Michigan is hurting it is a precursor to what can happen in the entire country. If our manufacturing base is getting threatened there, it is threatened everywhere. And so for me it is not just one state that I hope does well for me, it is a state that has to do well. Michigan is a state going through a one state recession.” In a press conference after his speech, Romney wouldn’t consider the option that Michigan is a must-win, instead focusing on his ability to take it: “You know, there’s so many rules about what you have to do and what you must win that have been broken already that I’m not willing to make that characterization. I can tell you, I’m going to win Michigan, and so I’m not sure whether I must win it, but I will win it.” As Romney walked out he quipped, “On to Michigan!” He will be campaigning in Grand Rapids later today before traveling to South Carolina for the Fox News Debate. Romney Predicts Win in Michigan [...]
I am a Mitt Romney supported and why.
But I have a question first? Why is the media and the other candidates wanting Mitt to pull out of the race so soon?
Why ditch the second place winner at this point, this is a marathon not a sprint. My children are long distance runners, and we learned a long time ago that you don’t give up in the 1st mile. So hang in there, stay with the pack and good luck at the end, endurance is the key.
I also want the New Reporters and other media personnel to state upfront before they open their mouths who they are pitching their lines for. What ever happen to unbiased reporting so we can get to the truth.
I have lots of questions? But I’m not hearing the answers from the other candidates. I’m sorry I’m not voting for McCain just because he’s a POW, sorry he wasn’t the only POW. My father served three tours of duty in Viet Nam in the Marines and came back with problems. I not voting for Huckabee just because he a Pastor – Good for him but I haven’t been impressed with his judgment skills. He just doesn’t seem that intelligent. And for Guliani – I’m sorry I just simply don’t trust him – He seems to be out for himself – The only thing he has going for him is he was major on 911. Sorry, but most leaders were great on that day. Look at Bush, he had the whole country behind him then.
In my opinion Mitt Romney is the better candidate. He smarter and willing to think outside the box to solve problems. We need a president who is good at solving problems and has the ability to use good judgment.
He’ll have to deal with a number of Democrats who are pushing for other Dems to vote for Huckabee (because if he’s nominated, they win automatically). Mitt is the man! Republicans need to quickly wisen up and get behind a candidate who can win in the general and would actually govern as a conservative, unlike Huckabee and McCain.
I am so tired of hearing about Obama and Hillary…..especially the later showing her personal side….it’s about time….but be not fooled….this was calculated…While Obama is charismatic and fresh…I don’t feel he has quite enough experience yet. Hillary will never win the South because we are not fooled by her….she only got teary because she thought she was going to lose….contrary to what she and her supporters believe, she is not smarter than everyone else running…look at her….look at what she and her husband have done TO this country over the past years…everywhere and everybody they have touched has been involved in some kind of legal scandal…even the office of Presidency…..it’s high time the Clinton’s are held responsible for all they have and have not done for this country…the only way to do that is not to vote them back in…..I am hoping and praying that the people of this country aren’t that stupid…..I’m still trying to find all the experience she keeps talking about….being married to a governor or a President doesn’t give you experience, only proximity…..as for her years running anything other than Bill, where is it? It isn’t there…..
Mitt Romney has experience, demeanor, class, and plans…..we can look at his record for solving problems, especially economic and health problems…. and I am also tired of the news media trying to get him out of the race…as I see it…Hillary just barely won 1 primary, Obama won 1 caucus, but Mitt has won one primary/caucas and finished second in two…he’s ahead….he has no more reason to quit that Hillary or Obama….so news folks…get over it…let
him run…..you just might get a good President out of it….
We can’t keep electing people who have only one area of expertise….the President of the US is faced with problems from every aspect of the world, the nation, and it’s citizens….We need to elect someone that is the most qualified and well-rounded…..Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we elected the MOST QUALIFIED BASED ON ACTUAL EXPERIENCE….and then maybe put John McCain as Secretary of Defense…..Guiliani could be the National Security Advisor…..etc…..I’m sure there’s something in there that Obama could do.
What the Democrats and Republican politicians don’t get is that like Obama says, “We are the United States of America”….not the red or blue states of America…..we are not just white, black, Jewish, Christian America….we are the United States of America……the politicians need to work for the good of all the people of this country and forget about party lines….that’s what we are asking for in those we elect…..WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO GET IT???
GO ROMNEY!!!!!!!! THOMPSON FOR VP!!!!

FINALLY– REAL Romney support. I’m from Iowa and still fired up about how The Huckster fooled all his blind followers here who would rather vote for someone because he is a pastor than someone with brains and ability to face all the country’s big problems. Iowa was early, unfortunately some people in following states are voting for him just because he won Iowa but more and more people are looking at him and recognizing what a fraud, unintelligent, goofy guy he is. Can you really see him meeting with Foreign Leaders and being respectable?? He never answers questions straight up, doesn’t defend his record, just whines about other people ‘being dishonest about it’. HE has been dishonest about his record. He says all the taxes he raised were after “80% of the people voted for them”– NOT TRUE. Do you HUCK supporters stay open enough to scrutinize his record. Does it matter to you that he is being dishonest about his record in order to get elected? Won’t he be dishonest on the job if he is dishonest while he’s pursuing the job?
Read http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/huckabees_fiscal_record.html.
Huckabee brags about how his democratic state kept re-electing him as evidence of his doing something right– all it signifies is that he ran the state the way a Democrat would. He is NOT a fiscal conservative!! Conservatives are refreshed by him talking about Christian values outright. Romney does too. Mitt wants God to stay in our schools and on our $, but he doesn’t force it on you in a condescending way like Huckabee does.
Somebody answer me specifically how Romney is NOT a conservative?
Abortion is the one thing people are criticizing Romney for. It is important, but not as immediate an issue as Iraq, terrorism, illegal immigration, health care costs and the imminent recession that everyone is talking about. Also, if you really watch and listen to Romney explain his change it is very reasonable. He has always been opposed to abortion morally, personally. When it was theoretical, he believed government’s role in what people should do was more in line with choice. When he actually had authority as governor, he had to personally face making something into legislation, he had to go with his personal conviction. I think that’s what we expect our leaders to do. He wants Roe vs. Wade overturned, would love there to be no abortion in the country, but is not going to force that view on the whole nation. He would be President over a lot of people with differing views on it. Huckabee’s ad that he put out/didn’t put out MISLEADS people to believe that Romney is responsible for or in support of the MA healthplan allowing $50 toward abortions. Romney opposed it, it was a state court ordered mandate that he had to obey. Like Mike Huckabee touts that he ‘obeyed the law in Arkansas’ by raising taxes for education then makes some remark about ‘I don’t know if you have to obey the law in MA…’
Which leads into the fact that Huckabee (and McCain) have both been more negative on this campaign than Romney– despite what the media keeps trying to perpetuate, even with Chris Wallace’s question on the last debate. Ridiculous. Romney has pointed out differences on their records. He pressed Huckabee to answer his question about taxes. The meanest thing he has said is that “he (Huckabee) makes up facts faster than he talks”. Hucakbee has attacked Romney’s character by calling his campaign dishonest, his comments are riddled with snide, personal cracks, his early comments about the Mormon faith were very specific ideology differences in order to rile up evangelicals against Romney. Huckabee jabs, then takes this ‘good guy, I didn’t mean to’ stance, knowing the damage has already been done and he comes out LOOKing like the more moral man. What a bunch of crap he has been pulling. I am floored that Huckabee got anything from NH voters!
Mitt Romney brings the most breadth of knowledge, best solution oriented approach to what is facing America. He brings people from all sides to the table, gets the best information and makes successful, critical decisions. Watch Greta’s conversation with him on the Mitt Mobile to learn more about his Foreign Policy approach. Watch all 3 parts to the video. It’s a GREAT look at him. He shares his stance on terrorism and I think it would have helped a lot of people in NH who voted for McCain just because of his military/foreign policy experience. It’s curious that these clips weren’t more visible on the website during the Iowa and NH voting. Fox?? Romney is a dignified leader who can work with the international community. His experience in the Olympics may even help other world leaders respect him.

McCain has some good character, although he seemed to relish a little too much in jabbing Romney on the debates. He can be bull-headed like Bush though. He’ll stand up to people or go against the grain, but that’s only good if he’s fighting for your exact point of view. I don’t think he would be any more effective in working with the international community than Bush has been.
In debates McCain avoids talking about what he plans to do about all the illegals already here. He focuses on a fence and securing the border only. That’s because he wants us to forget that his immigration bill really does offer a type of amnesty that won’t deter more illegals from coming. It doesn’t punish people who have broken OUR federal laws. This is just one summary of his bill:

It’s scary to see American’s voting for pastors, candidates they admire because of war experience, or because they ‘like his smile’ and ‘think he would be a comforting president’ (Obama). Do you realize that we need a strong leader?! This next President is CRUCIAL to our future. I agree that a vote for any other Republican OTHER THAN Romney is helping the Democrats. A Democrat will get America on it’s way to socialism. Europe is seeing the effects of socialism and they are starting to turn away from it and voting in conservatives.
I especially appreciate the comments on here from Canadians. They have a different society and yet are close enough to be knowledgable spectators of our country. LISTEN to them! Don’t listen to the media or their biased commentators (know who these people work for before you listen to their stance!). Listen to individual, respectable sources. How does Romney having some democratic supporters make him not a conservative.
I can see people being leary of Romney that he has had his eyes on the White House for some time. So what? Realize that every one running or who has ever run for presidnet has had his/her eyes on the White House. It is usually because they want to be in a position to make things better. Does being rich and white really mean he will not be an excellent President? I’d rather have my brilliant employer run the country than my hick co-worker who steals condiments from the break-room. (Yes, Huckabee really did steal furniture from the Governor’s mansion). Romney is wealthy, but don’t forget that he didn’t take pay for his governorship or the Olympics and he tithes 10% of his income! Does income really have any bearing on the characteristics we need as a leader– yes, he has been successful in his endeaveors…
I can see Romney has a tendency to exaggerate, but it’s out of enthusiasm more than it is calculated deception. When he is called on it, he admits fault. What more can you ask for? On the other hand, Huckabee has said “oh, I don’t know anything about the Mormon faith?”, when he was a main speaker at a Baptist seminar in SLC which was designed to refute Mormon doctrine and convert Mormons. Don’t you think you need to know their doctrine if you are going to try to discuss it and refute it with them? Isn’t that kind of false statement a little more alarming and telling than Romney’s slip about seeing ‘more change in the next ten years than we’ve seen in the past century’ or whatever?
The other arguments about Romney being too perfect etc. are just absurd. I like what another writer wrote about the fact that Romney’s got all 5 sons strongly supporting him and they are a close-knit family. Watch them. That says alot about the way he has lived his life.
http://www.mittromney.com
KEEP UP the support. Polls show that people BELIEVE Romney will get the nomination, but it won’t happen in a vacuum. You have to get out there and VOTE for him!! I can’t do any more from Iowa (yet!)
I think producer Shushannah Walshe gets the gold for her ongoing fantastic coverage of the campaign.
I agree with dk, Shushannah is AMAZING! Thank you for giving the country such in depth coverage. Governor Romney really seems to trust you and we appreciate the stories you are able to give us….but I think we should see more of you on TV. Your interviews are very informative. Keep up the good work!
fox news fair and balanced,no way.mitt romney will win , he is honest, trustworthy. huckabee flip flops or lies,he sould be on the dems.side.mccain is dishonest, has been in d.c.all these years and still has done nothing good for this country and the american people.oh, he was in vietnam,so were many others.

KEEP UP the support. Polls show that people BELIEVE Romney will get the nomination, but it won’t happen in a vacuum. You have to get out there and VOTE for him!! I can’t do any more from Iowa (yet!)
I am an Evangelical Christian from the battle ground state of South Carolina. By all accounts, you would assume I’m voting for Huckabee in the primary. That assumption is wrong. I will be voting Romney. I urge all Evangelicals out there, look at Huckabee’s record, he may be a strong Christian, I don’t question his faith, but he doesn’t represent many of our political beliefs. If you believe lower taxes encourage economic growth, if your believe we should secure our boarders and discourage other from entering illegally, if you believe we should keep our communities safe by keeping criminals in prison then Huckabee doesn’t represent you. Romney agrees with most evangelicals on important social issues such as marriage and abortion and he agrees with us on most economic and political issues. God can us all people to make America a better place, not just Evangelicals. Be open to God placing a Mormon in the presidency, God made all of Creation and can use it all to bring about his glory. Vote smart fellow Christians, vote for the candidate that represents our political belief.
Romney is winning the votes and the delegates and no other candidate can say that the worst that they have finished in any state is second. Romney won Wyoming by a landslide. He was born in Michigan and lived in Mass. The man isn’t even from the west. He is predicted to do amazing in the western states. Romney raised 5million yesterday and has great ad out in Michigan with a Michigan congressman and his wife talking about how Romney will help Michigan’s economy. Rush Limbaugh has talked about Romney and how things are only getting started. He said that the liberal media want Huckabee and McCain to win. What does that say? We all know Huckabee cannot win. He is not an innovator and he is the farthest thing from international. Can you see him on the news in Europe and Asia helping our country. Remember his slip-ups with everything international, but the man stayed at a Holiday Inn Express so its A-OK. What kind of bogus crap is that? The words and phrases that have come out of this man’s mouth have been embarrassing. Oh, I have news for the evangelical Christians out there. Romney is not a good Christian. The man is corrupted with everything. Look at how easily he is influenced. The pardons, the bribes, the gifts, destroying all of those computer hard-drives. Thompson is a better Christian than Huckabee. Huck is giving evangelicals a bad name. McCain is too old. He didn’t perform in the debates. The media said that the man came off as bitter and sinister. Not very inspiring. Please, someone point me in the way of a candidate better than Romney because I don’t see one. Romney is the most criticized candidate and he is criticized for the most ridiculous things. How is this happening when you have Rudy, Huckabee, and McCain acting like the three stooges. It is all so backward.
MESSAGE TO MITT ROMNEY: I think you need to speak more from your heart. You are the best candidate, hands down, but you need to speak with more sincere emotion to connect with more voters.
I understand freedom of speech, but people who are blatantly posting campaign ads on these sites are undermining those good decent folks that want a good discusion. It also makes me less likely to read what others have wrote.
Mitt Romney lost both Iowa and New Hampshire for one reason. Religious intolerance. I hope Michigan doesn’t cast another vote for bigotry.
