Hillary Wins NH
by Aaron Bruns
It’s official: Fox News calls New Hampshire for Hillary.
Theories on how she pulled it out?
-the emotional moment. Didn’t play well nationally, but the people here in the room when it happened were swayed by it.
-independents. They came out for Obama, but about 4 in 10 voted in the GOP primary. Enough to help HRC to the win?
Any other theories you guys can think of?

The polls predicted an Obama landslide. An undecided wanting to “make a difference” with his/her vote for change would be tempted to vote for McCain in that reportedly “tighter” race vs. Romney, assuming Obama didn’t need the extra help. As Kurt Vonnegut said, “so it goes”.
Another question to ponder after watching Fox News coverage all day as they predicted a double digit defeat for Senator Clinton: How could all the pundits be so wrong?
Someone made her change her message to go after younger voters. Unfortunately it helped, but listening to her speak is like nails on a chalk board. In the words of my husband “this is contrived b.s.”. As soon as she goes off script you hear the real Hillary and it’s frightening.
Hillary is our only hope for a better and more stable future…
Congrats Hillary ^^
Oh and by the way…. as the media say that her crying moment yesterday was genuine, I agree. She was genuinely upset that she was LOSING! And what was this B.S. about “found her own voice”. What? I apologize, I’m upset. In all seriousness, I have trouble trusting her, especially when she claims to be a candidate for change. Right or wrong she is a part of the old establishment, and that does not represent change. Her messages continue to waver and move with the wind, the only thing that is constant is her language, “I, me, me, me, me.” I hope that voters see through this.
Hillary Haters so exaggerate their own perception of Clinton that she always surprises people at how genuinely nice she is when they meet her in person.
According to Aaron (Fox’s “journalist”) Clinton’s “emotional moment” “didn’t play well nationally.” On this very blog, a person posted yesterday that Clinton displayed “uncontrollable emotions.” Most often, I heard Hillary Haters call her a “crybaby.”
Crap like that comes off petty and childish, but Hillary Haters think it works.
Truth:
Hillary Clinton’s eyes welled up while talking about her love for America.
Here in New Hampshire, that kind of sentiment plays very well.
Obviously.
Congratulations to Senator Hillary Clinton for a spectacular victory in New Hampshire.
What do you know?
Despite your “fair and balanced” smirking and snickering about Hillary’s impending defeat, she wins in New Hampshire.
I hope you feel foolish - you should!
I think the Fox know-it-all crew’s smarmy attacks on Hillary actually helped her win in N.H..
Thanks!
Well, the Clinton hegemony may have unfortunately gotten back on track tonight. Twenty-eight years of the Bush-Clinton family in the presidency will be a real shame. The “fawning” many in the press showed to the “Hillary emotional moment” yesterday certainly didn’t hurt her chances today.
As a moderate Republican who is fed up with the religious right controlling way too much of the decision-making processes in the Republican party, and especially the primary elections (have written in John McCain the past two presidential elections), I switched my affiliation to the Democratic party this primary season. Obama has the leadership, ideas, and vision, as well as the ability (at least potential) to collaborate with the moderate Republicans once elected, to affect real change. And despite the claims of many that Hillary has the best chance to beat the Republicans in November, I actually think Obama, because of the above traits and the energy he brings, has a better chance of winning when it is all boiled down. Indeed, Hillary has a huge amount of baggage and is a very polarizing figure. (On the former, I’m sure the Republicans have the “Wal-Mart semis” loaded and ready to pull out of the parking lot as soon as she is announced as the Democratic nominee.) Obama, with his reach to the independents, and even Republicans, has a fighting chance of winning.
And if Hillary wins the democratic nomination, unless I vote for McCain (the social side is the problem with him), then I’ll find myself writing in a candidate for the third presidential election in a row. The upside with McCain is that he can work across the aisle, and thus there is a good chance of some bipartisan initiatives. It’s not over for Obama yet, however, though poor showings in MI, NV, and SC will prove difficult from which to recover. (At least with McCain and Obama, we have two candidates who haven’t flipped-flopped across the issues like Hillary, Romney, et al.)
A lesson learned: too many media pundits use polls like the drunk uses the lamppost–for support, not for illumination.
And a second lesson: never, NEVER underestimate the skills and power of the Clintons.
Well, given that women supported her much more strongly in New Hampshire, I wonder how much the heckler influenced people. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was a plant, though, given the campaign’s history.
Democrats lost a chance to change the country tonight. It’s really a shame. Guess Dems think that you get change by swapping dynasties every 8 years.

Hilary has been bought off already. Come on, you don’t raise the kind of money she has without making promises to special interests.
Her tears yesterday was because she wasn’t in the lead as projeced all last summer. Her dreams were slipping away. She says she has experience. Doing what ordering Bill around. She can do that without being President. She hasn’t even completed her second term as a Senator. Other than being first lady what other experience does she have? The thought of her getting the nomination scares me to death.
Since the free trade agreement was signed (by the other Clinton)
Our country is falling apart. Record foreclosers, unemployment, our jobs are being shiped overseas. Many of our big companies have moved overseas leaving their retirees with no benefit or retirement. Taking our livelihood with them.
I live in Michigan. I wished you could drive thru this state & see all the small factories & businesses patalocked. Closed or moved out
of the country. This small factory fed families, supplied their needs.
They’re gone. They no longer pay taxes.in this country but we buy their goods. Why are we allowing this???
We’re in real trouble here & we need someone with backbone to fight these special interest companies not someone who plays the game. We
need serious health insurance reform & regulation. Drug companies need to be regulated. They sell the same product out of this country for a fraction of what they charge us. Why…GREED that’s why.
Health care has become big business, big money,
I’m an American. Not Democrat….Not Republican….I vote for the person that I feel will best repesent our needs. I have been disappointed at times but I research & listen to the candiates.
And I look to the future & on our present path…it’s bleak.
We have to have major, meaningful change.
Return to a goverment of the people. Our goverment has been sold to the highest bidder on the congressional floor long enouh.
As a regular viewer of Fox News Channel, i surely can be forgiven for believing that i am still only dreaming that Hillary has won the New Hampshire Primary.
I could have sworn that i heard comments like “blow out” and “double digit deficit” only yesterday from seasoned political commentators, who it appears may have over compensated for missing the Obama surge in Iowa.
Not only did they miss the Hillary surge in the closing hours of the NH campaign, but they actually convinced themselves that they had some political acumen other than just listening to their own inner longing to see the Clinton Campaign humbled before the world.
Their rather cynical views on the genuine emotion of candidate Hillary, and some self serving assessment that this was only negative, portrayed as crying for herself, leads me to think that emotion and response to emotion are somehow factors that are automatically discounted by commentators analysis of “facts”. Surely such assessments must be as close to bankrupt, as was the experts missing the clamor of US voters for change in the country.
As for the under reporting on size of attendance at HC events this is just an unsubtle form of bias and spin and certainly not to be accepted as balanced and fair reporting standards.
When I heard they were having ballot troubles I assumed Hillary was going to win.
Was channel flipping coverage and some spanish channel had faster *more accurate* reporting than Anyone (they were reporting Clinton minutes before I heard it on Fox), followed by think it was ABC… then CNN/Fox/etc were pretty similar. Fox sure seemed to dumb down the results compared to all the other networks though.
