McCain Analyzes Fox Forum

What did John McCain think of the Fox News Republican candidates’ forum in New Hampshire this weekend?

He shared some observations with reporters Monday, while riding his Straight Talk Express bus on a final campaign swing through the Granite State.

How is it possible that Frank Luntz’ focus group of “undecided” voters had some of the same people who were in previous focus groups? The videos of these sessions prove this to be true. Either Luntz or Fox is deliberately trying to “skew” the results or is negligent to say the least. At either rate, the American people seem to be through being fed information and believing anything you wish to tell us. I think an explanation is in order if you want any credibility left. Americans do want change…and we want news and commentary presented to us fairly.

I agree with Sen McCain. I thought that Mr. Wallace could have reined in Romney and usurped his role as the “moderator”. I thought that Sen McCain did a wonderful job. I would like to mention that a post forum analyst, for Romney, on your show, whose name alludes me at the moment, did her best to attack Sen McCain’s physical appearance. When did winking become a physical flaw? I do however think, it shows the low handedness that the Romney campaign is willing to stoop in order to win. Go McCain 2008!

All the negativity that Romney is dishing out reminds me of the last presidential election. I don’t want to be reminded of Bush being elected again and the horrible wedge he drove between republicans and democrats and the American people. The country never recovered from it. McCain has consistently proven his ability to work with his Democrat counterparts and many individuals on both sides praise his knowledge of foreign affairs and his experience. Johnny Mac is back! Go McCain!

McCain is 72, wife number whatever is 35? He was one of the Keating 5 finance scandal. 25 years in the Senate and not liked by his peers. Hot tempered, ill with cancer in remission. He will never beat Obama. I as a christian conservative will not vote for him. Neither will many I know.

McCain is not the straight-talker people think he is. On Meet The Press last sunday, McCain was read a quote of him saying he supported amnesty back in 2003. Latter that day in the Fox News forum, McCain said that he’d never supported amnesty and anyone who says he did is a liar. Nice straight talk.

His support of the so-called immigration reform bill and his depriving us of our free speech rights with campaign finance reform shows evidence that he values the friendships he has in Washington and getting his ego stroked by the liberal media more than he does the good of the American people. I suspect it was the same for his lack of support for the Bush tax cuts. He claims it was because they were not accompanied by spending cuts, but any supply-sider will tell you that when taxes are cut, revenue actually increases because of the economic growth it spurs. It happened in the 80’s under Reagan and it happened again under Bush 43. McCain should have known this.

McCain is good on some issues and certainly has been brave in the past. I always admired his war hero status. But that alone does not make him qualified to be the nominee. I supported McCain in 2000 because I wanted to believe in him and his “straight talk” rhetoric and I was not as familiar with the issues as I am now. I won’t make that mistake again.
