On the comment by Foothiller, above:

What a puzzling post. There's "Fox News is joke,"[sic] "biased" with "credibility...evaporated" in "last night's fiasco."

Then there's the charge that "fair and balanced" and "we report, you decide" are unwarranted "mantras" that "raise suspicions."

So what's odd? Not a single example was cited to back up these breathless claims.

Veddy, veddy odd indeed, Keptin.

If anything Fox is biased...in favor of John "Traitor" McCain. As evidence I submit that unprecedented, singular phenomenon of Fox breaking to that graphic splash screen during one of McCain's rebuttals against Romney. The graphic, recall, showed a quote by Romney that appeared to back up McCain's contention that Romney once supported McCain's position on immigration. Now that was open support of a candidate, namely McCain, by someone at Fox News - who took the time to generate that graphic screen ahead of time and to direct the production crew cut to it right in the middle of a candidate statement. I've never seen anything that blatant in any debate, by any network before.

As a disclaimer, I am not a supporter of Romney, and I do not support immigration crackdowns (instead, elimination of welfare would make the illegal immigration "problem" evaporate literally overnight, but... nobody's talking Reagan talk these days.)

But back to Foothiller:

There is zero in the way of specific evidence in support of his complaint against Fox News. Then it's:
- "I used to watch your channel, but no longer" - On which I'd speculate that, as a leftist, Foothiller has never torn himself away from CNN or MSNBC long enough to change the channel to Fox in the first place;

- "Likewise I have sold my newscorp stock," - Which begs proof he ever owned any;

- "and boycotted every one of your advertisers" - Which similarly begs proof he ever patronized any of them, or could even name one of them, to begin with.

What really peeves me though is his standard leftwing ad hominem retort, clearly intended as a smear of anyone on the...non-Left: "However, your initials, FNN, fit rather nicely into Fascist News Network."

It's always comical to hear frothing leftists spew "fascist" as a blanket epithet to describe...basically anyone who disagrees with them, for it betrays an utter ignorance of the most rudimentary definition of the term. To wit: fascism is logically classified as a referent of the genus collectivism, alongside other collectivist variants such as communism, socialism, racism, multiculturacism, egalitarianism, eco-fascism, tribalism, absolute majority rule, and the like.

If Foothiller did comprehend the fact that fascism is an ideology whose philosophical roots are identical to his own, he perhaps wouldn't have been so eager to so vividly illustrate the fact with his statement: "Good job and way to stand up for the rights of the large corporations."[sic]

Clearly, what's needed is a good iron-fisted dictator to smash those EvilGreedyCorporations, right now? Correct?

"Fascist" indeed.

Yeeek.

The issue is, does McCain support amnesty. The answer is yes.

One, he has said so in the past.

Two, he was one of the principles of the Bush amnesty bill.

Three, he still wants amnesty, and weak borders. He is not convinced about the fence, and wants to give amnesty to 18 million illegals if they pay few bucks and speak a few words of English. The illegals get their felonies (tax evasion, id theft, ignoring court orders, re entering USA after deportation) and their misdeamors (illegal entry, drying without a license) wiped clean. And they are rewarded with citizenship IN PREFERENCE OVER ALL OTHER FAMILY OF NON HISPANIC AMERICANS. That is amnesty. That is racist. That is unconstitutional.

I suffered through the debate. I watched as McCain and Huckabee attacked Mitt over and over again. Amazing thing is, after doing some research on the candidates, Romney is not being untruthful about Mike Huckabee. Romney is the only straight shooter from the whole quagmire.
When it comes time for our primaries, Mitt is the guy I vote for.

He did not become rattled with their constant harassment but remained calm. He answered every attack calmly and rationally. Good presidential material.

I am 60 years old and have never missed a chance to vote. It has always been a priority for me - local or national. I vote for the person who I believe stands for the good of my local community or for the good of my country - which I love. I have at times voted Democratic and sometimes Republican. I have watched and listened very intensely to all of the candidates of both parties who are running for President. I cannot support any of the Democratic candidates.
Their views are definiately socialistic to say the least. That is frightening. As for the Republican candidates after the last two debates I have had to mark off all but two. Thompson seems old and tired and without much excitement, Paul acts & talks like a loon, McCain has to attack others trying to make himself look like he has some credibility and he is very boring, he has been here and done this too many times. Perhaps he should consider retirement. Huckabee has proven himself as a biget, and really does not come across as having the smarts it takes to run this country.
That leaves Romney and Giuliani for me to choose from. So far - from what I have read - and have heard from them, Romney seems to have the brains, the energy, and the experience both national and foreign to lead this great country. Hopefully I will be able to vote in this national election. God Bless America and pray that it stays the Land Of The Free.....

I was born in Poland during communism. I know how to read between lines and how to distinquish a sincere person from a career politician. Romney knows how to run a political campaign but he does not know what he stands for. He would say and do everything to be elected.

I am surprised how much FoxNews openly stands behind Romney and how much they are afraid of McCain and Huckabee. It indicates that a split in Republican party is coming.

If Romney would be elected he would be a weak GOP candidate and he has very little chance to win the elections, because of is lacks of convictions. So, I do not worry that much about him anymore.
