Romney: Huckabee is running for the LA Caucus
Bettendorf, IA
Romney greeted supporters and spoke to the media here—one day before the Iowa caucuses. He came out in a buoyant mood and welcomed his New Hampshire rival, Senator John McCain to the state. He then slammed him instead of Iowa rival Mike Huckabee saying that he thought the press would ask about Huckabee so he wanted to start with McCain. He hit him for not supporting the Bush tax cuts.
He did jab Huckabee over his appearance this evening on the Tonight show with Jay Leno:
“My focus is on the caucuses here in Iowa. I think Mike is more concerned about the caucus in Los Angeles. So my focus is a difficult job — to vote in the caucuses and connecting my message with the people of Iowa, and I think that’s the right course for my campaign.”

Romney also noted that McCain has been in Washington for a long time where a lot of “talking goes on”:
“Senator McCain is an honorable person. He’s been in the senate for 25 years or more and people have a lot of talk there.”
Tomorrow is Iowa Caucus Day, the candidate’s big test—but Romney seems to already be looking to the New Hampshire primary and his rival there.
