Romney Responds to Huck’s Non Ad

The Romney campaign told the traveling press that they would be making an unscheduled campaign stop here. They explained that an event was previously scheduled and then cancelled, but supporters were gathered there and Romney was going to pop by and say hello.
Instead, Romney decided to respond to Governor Huckabe’s attack ad that he didn’t release:
“You know in reaction to the press conference Governor Huckabee had today I think that I’d note that I’m running a serious campaign, that there are serious issues that face the country at this time. I want to bring change to Washington, that’s what my campaign is about. The press conference which Governor Huckabee had today I think is confusing to the people of Iowa. On the one hand he wants to run a positive campaign and on the other hand he shows a negative campaign ad and hopes that people promote it and provide it to the public through the earned media. And I think that’s a very confusing and puzzling message. With that, who wants a slice of pizza?”
He then took out a box of pizza and offered it to the media.

Earlier in the day the travelling press tried to get Romney to respond, but he just said to check with his press secretary, Eric Ferhrnstrom and then jumped into the MittMobile. Maybe the pizza made him reconsider. . .

Any clue as to whether or not Governor Romney will do a one-on-one Debate with Governor Huckabee as Huckabee suggested?
He can dish out lies about someone else’s record but when asked about his $50 abortions, he asks if they want pizza? You’ve got to be kidding me… I really hope Iowans aren’t stupid enough to fall for his BS.
The only BS Iowa is exposed to is Huckster.
This is a joke, right? Holy cow, this is supposed to be a campaign, not a frat party. I see a reporter trying to film a story about Mitt’s appearance, and some horse’s ass is trying to shove a pizza in his face. Care to address the important issues? Is this how he ran his venture capital business?…Or does he just assume we’re all easily paid off with pepperoni and cheese?
Huckabee’s little stunt was beyond rediculous. I see that Foxnews has decided to air his anti-Romney attack ad for free…exactly what Huckabee wanted to have happen.
I wonder why Romney wouldn’t answer Mr. Dugger’s question about the $50 copay for abortions. It would have been a GREAT chance to clarify his reasons for making abortions easier to obtain. I wonder what the copay is for heart surgery in MA.

The $50 copay has been answered. IF you are only going to follow Huck then you won’t know what is going on. If you only follow one candidate you won’t have a clue. Thomson already mentioned the copay. The response was quite clear. All people in MASS are required to have insurance, so those who don’t take advantage of those who do, and the abortion copay could not be taken away. Gov. Romney tried to take that part out, but the SUPREME COURT OF MASS. said that was against the constitution of MASS. Therefore, ONLY and amendment to the constitution could have changed that and not a GOV.
People please follow the news. Pick your candidate by the things you like and can look over the negative. All have positive and ALL have negative.

Ike’s got it right. Look into the facts for yourself!! The abortion thing was not Romney’s doing, he fought it. Huckabee LIES in that ad to make people think otherwise and then calls Romney dishonest. Huckabee didn’t answer questions about any ‘record’ items Romney’s ads brought up. Romney answered the abortion question easily (watch Hannity interview).
Huckabee is the one using smoke & mirrors, diverting attention w/ religion. Romney is talking issues and what he has done and will do. What does Huckabee talk about??
These so called evangelical christians amaze me. They have voted against Romney not necessarily for Huckabee. They know he can’t win the nomination nor beat the dems. Who cares if he’s a likeable guy. WHAT CAN HE DO>>>>WHAT HAS HE DONE>>>>YOU KNOW…..SUBSTANCE. He still hasn’t “set the record straight” concerning the issues brought up in the CONTRAST ADDS. If Huckabee thinks he’s being attacked ….does the shoe fit??? The truth hurts. Compare his resume to Mitt’s. Any objective observer would rather have the economic fate of the country in Mitt’s hands. He’s spoken strongly on the war and jihadism. He covers all the bases, and has a record of accomplishment. I ask what is his motivation for running. He’s wealthy….not money. Don’t think it’s ego….nope. Maybe because he wants to make America better for his kids and grandkids just like he says. Oh but he’s dishonest …I forgot. He could do whatever he wants but he is subjecting himself to the whole process and WHY? We trust him to showcase the U.S. to the world during the Olympics but no he’s not good enough for the Presidency. NO ONE DENIES HIS COMPETENCE. But I guess he can’t pick a guitar and say those little one liners. What about substance!!! Look at his family. I submit that being a successful father is harder than doing well at anything else. One other thing. If Huckabee gets the nomination he’ll be relying on some mormons to protect him as secret service agents. Didn’t know that did you. Funny how people like the fruits (integrity) of the mormon people on the whole but hate that darn tree (the church).
