Rasmussen: Giuliani loses Florida polling lead
Rudy Giuliani has dropped from first to third place in Florida according to the latest poll released by Rasmussen Reports this afternoon.
The results:
Mike Huckabee - 27%
Mitt Romney - 23%
Rudy Giuliani - 19%
Fred Thompson - 9%
John McCain - 6%
Rasmussen Survey of 685 Likely GOP Voters
December 13, 2007 Margin of Error +/- 4
The poll comes as Giuliani is set to give a significant speech Saturday in Tampa about making America strong again and had intended to do it from a position of strength, Florida, where he has held a signficant lead for months. The former New York City mayor is staking out a different strategy for the nomination–one based on surviving defeats in the early primary states with a victories in Florida on January 29th and many of the February 5th primary states.
A Real Clear Politics average of recent polls show Giuliani with nearly 13 point lead in the Sunshine State over Romney and Huckabee. This is the first poll showing Giuliani trailing in Florida so it remains to be seen if other polls show a similar trend but it must be making some folks in Rudy campaign headquarters a little nervous.

Mitt Romney will be the one to win Florida. He is smart, open, and understands what this country needs. After watching Romney’s “Faith in America” speech last week I felt that truly this is what our country needs. Romney has had more attacks from both sides of the asle and he is still gaining strength nationally. He will win FL, MI, NH, and IA! Huckabee is a good guy, but he stands zero chance against the Democrats in 2008. The Democrats would like nothing more than to see Huckabee nominated by the Republican party. They know that he cannot beat them. Romney is the real deal here and that is why he will continue to have my support and my vote.
Do you have any information on Fred Thompson or Tom Tancredo campaigns? It seems the media have written them both off before we even get to vote. Alas, I may have to skip the general again this time.
Let’s see…..I won’t vote for a minister or a Northeast liberal. That leaves Thompson, Tancredo, and what’s his name. The Grand Old Party is getting pretty thin it seems.
I think it is awesome that Senator Huckabee is ahead. I think America is tired of so many negative issues in our country right now. It’s almost as if our world is falling apart. There are so many weather disasters around our globe. Also, so many people getting shot in our schools, university’s, malls-everywhere. The war should be our major concern and our country forefathers were supported (of course not by all) by the people. We should support our President and our troops and begin praying if we haven’t already done so.
I believe God has been excluded in so many things because people are trying to take Him out of everything. It’s time to put Him back in our hearts and lives. And Senator Huckabee is certainly the right person to be elected as President. Our country has fallen because of not putting God first. Because men refuse to listen to the only true God, He is turning their selfish minds to do wrong. I know there are many different religions but only one true faith.
That’s not to say we don’t respect other religions. I thank God now for President Bush. I’ve always supported him and prayed for him. Our country needs to continue to put someone in office like Senator Huckabee so we can grow into a stronger nation. Others have a tendancy to blame the President for the war and problems. “We the people” must do our part and vote on values, morals, and the integrity of a person.
Thank you
Where is the Ron Paul coverage? That’s it, keep pretending he doesn’t exist

And if you really want to learn, read “Freedom Under Siege”. Google for it. It is availabe for free download. If nothing else, skip to page 10 in the PDF and try to stop reading.
This is definitely not waht we expected with Huckabee making a comback here in Florida. Some are pleased with teh outcome thus far.
Florida will go to the Republicans without a doubt… I would like to see Rudy do it, and i’m hoping that he will add MCCain to his ticket.
Happy to hear some Americans are waking up. We are encouraged about it. Praying he makes the GOP Presidential candidate. GO HUCKABEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
A VOTE FOR MIKE HUCKABEE IS A VOTE FOR HILLARY CLINTON
Fellow Americans please wake up!
everyone - including hillary clinton - knows that Mike Huckabee doesn’t stand a chance against Hillary Clinton, (just read the polls and see for yourself what the population is saying) and there is no one who would like to see a Huckabee victory in the primary more then the Hillary crowd!
Meanwhile Huchabee is capitalizing on his record for being a social conservative, while nobody knows that he has a very liberal record on fiscal issues - he raised taxes in Arkansas more then Bill Clinton did!
According to the polls, and by an overwhelming majority, the only - and I repeat ONLY - Republican candidate who stands a chance against Hillary is Rudy Gulliani.
Evan if you don’t agree with everything he stands for, it is BETTER TO NOT HAVE EVERYTHING YOU WANT, THEN TO HAVE EVERYTHING YOU DON’T WANT!
Looking forward to good news.
God bless America.
